Chapter 1054: Eggy's Bewilderment and Sorrow

Underground, Chu Feng searched extensively but found no other artifacts. The two bodies that had been there were both taken away by the strange dragon, leaving nothing behind for him.

He was a little suspicious. The strange dragon seemed incredibly powerful and spoke in a terrifying manner, but was it truly as formidable as it claimed, having lived for three lifetimes?

"It was all self-proclaimed..."

The more Chu Feng thought about it, the more something felt off. The reason he had been intimidated was entirely due to the strange dragon's own ramblings. Could it be... he had been fooled?!

Chu Feng stared blankly, growing increasingly suspicious that he might have been deceived.

"Could it be that it sensed someone lurking and, feeling unsure, deliberately mixed truth with lies to scare people away?!" The more he considered it, the more plausible this seemed. The dragon had claimed to have "accidentally" eaten a Thirty-Three Heavens Grass, feigning a profound expression. How audacious was that? It was blatant showing off.

In an instant, Chu Feng wanted to rush out and capture the strange dragon alive! However, he restrained himself; there were simply too many peculiarities about that dragon.

In the first small world space, a pure white egg rolled along.

"A Dragon Dayu fell from the sky, like a wisp of cloud just emerging from the peaks..." It hummed a tune as it rolled.

"Something's happening!" Suddenly, it stopped and hid among the scattered rocks.

In the distance, a prodigy from the Taiwu lineage let out a long howl. He had just fought three consecutive battles and was covered in blood, some his own, some from dragons. "Bastard, where are you hiding? Don't let me find you!" Dogwa roared. He had fought several battles but still hadn't found the scoundrel who had stolen his mother-gold sword and attacked him.

Since there were no weapons or scriptures in the underground palace, Chu Feng decisively began to dig downward, prioritizing securing any fortuitous encounters he could, ensuring he wouldn't lose out if circumstances changed.

His primary target, naturally, was the gourd vine underground. It wasn't very long, only a section. Too much time had passed, and for unknown reasons, the vine had long since broken. The gourd vine was as thick as a bucket, with over five zhang remaining. It was clearly nourished by the earth's veins and rune patterns, yet it had genuinely solidified rather than remaining an ethereal energy construct.

"Excellent find!" Chu Feng exclaimed.

This gourd vine was different from the piece Holly had obtained; it was purplish-gold in color, slightly gleaming, and retained strong vitality even after breaking from its parent plant. Chu Feng examined it carefully before decisively placing it into his spatial bracelet and then into the stone jar.

For others, such a celestial item would most likely be used for alchemy or as a rare medicinal ingredient. However, Chu Feng wouldn't use it that way; he regarded it as a mineral, a primary ingredient for the Small Heavenly Pill! Moreover, it was a core component in the original ancient formula, possessing endless wonders for nourishing the physical body and soul light.

The Small Heavenly Pill's extraordinary effects were similar to the trump cards held by ancient aristocratic families and sects that had existed for eons—they could all cultivate the strongest disciples. For this reason, Chu Feng valued it highly!

"Alright, with this stroke of fortune secured, I can attempt Nirvana here."

Chu Feng began preparations, but he also frowned. The grand fortune of the place had largely been siphoned off; the strange dragon had used this location to revive and live another life, depleting its opportunities. Nevertheless, he was still "young" and his physical improvement was limited, so he could still benefit from this spot.

"No, I need to seal the entrance. What if that strange dragon returns and ambushes me?"

Chu Feng walked back the way he came, much faster than before, having already explored a safe path.

After Chu Feng emerged, curiosity filled him. He really wanted to know what the strange dragon was doing now and decided to take a look, as long as it didn't interfere with him.

"Huh, where's the eggshell I left here?"

Chu Feng's expression turned odd. The cocoon in the second small world space was gone, and a very absurd possibility came to his mind.

Chu Feng rushed to the first small world space, exploring cautiously. He genuinely felt uneasy without finding the strange dragon, fearing it might be hiding in the shadows, ready to ambush him.

From a considerable distance, he could hear shouts of battle, fierce and intense in the distance.

"Holy crap, it's that bastard!" This was the voice of the plump white boy, also known as the little crow.

"Fiend, where do you think you're going?!" The young prodigy from the Taiwu lineage's voice trembled, showing his extreme excitement and anger.

Then came the strange dragon's voice: "What the hell? Don't young people nowadays respect their elders and cherish the young anymore? You see an egg and you want to beat it? That's utterly outrageous! It's infuriating your Grandpa Dragon!" It was a bit bewildered. What was happening? Why was it being chased and beaten the moment it showed its face? A group of young prodigies wanted to fight it, even abandoning the other two dragons just to target its egg.

From afar, Chu Feng watched, dumbfounded, then couldn't help but want to laugh uproariously. This strange dragon was actually being hunted and cornered like this. A huge "black pot" had been placed on its back instead of his. Chu Feng watched with great amusement from a distance, truly wishing he could have a drink and just observe the dragon fight from the sidelines.

Initially, the strange dragon remained somewhat calm, merely complaining, believing that a few young prodigies were coveting its egg and wanted to snatch it to hatch. However, it quickly lost its composure. This wasn't about seizing an egg; it was clearly about destroying it. All sorts of fierce moves were unleashed simultaneously, aimed directly at it.

"You bastard, try running now."

"You little brat, who are you cursing? What kind of vision do you have? I'm a dragon, and this is a dragon egg, understand?!" the strange dragon retorted.

"Damn it, this grandson still dares to talk back! Boil it alive!" shouted the plump white boy.

"Waaah!" The prodigy from the Taiwu lineage was so furious his voice cracked. He roared, streaked across the sky, and unleashed a punch, complete with lightning and thunder—a genuine Lightning Fist—striking the egg. "Grandson, where do you think you're going to escape? Die!" Dogwa bellowed.

The strange dragon didn't hesitate. Tearing open a piece of its eggshell, it extended a dragon claw, emitting two beams of black and white light that surged like Yin-Yang energy. Their destructive power was astonishing, blocking the Lightning Fist. However, the little crow and several others also charged, all striking at the dragon egg. Sand and stones flew, and brilliant light erupted in the area.

They employed various secret techniques, all incredibly strong and among the best for their age group. The egg was hit; if not for the intertwining black and white lights stabilizing it, it would surely have shattered.

"Damn it, this old man is furious! Who did I offend?!" The strange dragon's voice came from within the egg, truly exasperated. What was supposed to be the safest way to travel had inexplicably turned into being universally assailed? It had become a public enemy.

"Kill that bastard! Let's see where you run!" The little crow acted sneakily, his ten fingers glowing, and black light surged forward, shooting out. He also felt that this egg was utterly detestable. It had committed evil deeds and then, instead of lying low, dared to roll around and flaunt itself everywhere. After being discovered, it still stubbornly denied everything and acted arrogantly. It had to be attacked collectively and apprehended!

Dogwa roared even louder, "Fiend, you can't escape even with wings! You can't reach the heavens or the netherworld; there's no way out for you!"

"Your Grandpa Dragon already has wings; he doesn't need to 'grow wings'!"

Boom! He slammed down with a palm, this time using the Taiwu Divine Light Palm. Instantly, brilliant light erupted, as if nine suns hung in the sky, illuminating the entire cavern. The air vibrated violently, and energy surged fiercely.

"Dragon fighting in the wild!" From within the eggshell, a pair of claws emerged, followed by a pair of hind legs, and then its tail. It stood upright, but still didn't reveal its head. This was because the Yin-Yang symbol on its forehead was too distinctive, and it feared being targeted and coveted.

The strange dragon roared, dragon shadows swirling, as it fiercely battled Dogwa.

The Taiwu lineage prodigy was enraged. This fellow was clearly hiding its true identity; even though it was revealed to be a dragon, it still used an eggshell to cover its face. Was it mocking him? Too detestable!

"Kill!" Several prodigies charged forward together, and then the strange dragon couldn't hold on. It was beaten dizzy, its tail was grabbed, and its scales were nearly ripped off.

"Arrogant Dragon Regrets!" It roared, flicked its tail, and sent the little crow flying. The crow's face immediately swelled, and his eyes were heavily bruised—a classic black eye.

"Damn it, what a terrible start! I wanted to take on a few prodigies as servants, but instead, I ran into these inexplicable little lunatics!" The strange dragon was indignant. It had originally thought that by transforming into a dragon egg, people would be curious and carefully keep it to hatch, as it could become one of the strongest battle beasts. At that point, it would have had the chance to play the pig to eat the tiger, suddenly striking to take on servants. Instead, the moment it showed its head, it was brutally beaten and left bewildered. Was a dragon egg so worthless, so unlikable? Who could it complain to?!

"It wants to take us as servants? What an arrogant dragon! Let's roast the whole dragon and finish it off!" the group shouted.

The strange dragon was sent flying, severely battered. If its flesh and skin hadn't been astonishingly tough, any other person or dragon would have long since been torn to pieces, unable to survive.

"Grandpa Dragon is leaving today! Mountains remain, waters flow. See you in eighteen years! By then, the men will warm my bed, and the women will be my servants—ah, spit, I said that wrong..." It couldn't continue speaking. It was sent flying by a blow, then it manipulated the massive dragon qi from the dragon nest, moving through the air, and vanished with a whoosh.

"That's right, it's him!" the Taiwu lineage prodigy said with hatred, chasing frantically. Earlier, he had been a bit suspicious if it was this dragon, but now seeing the same method of escaping by manipulating qi, he was sure it was this very dragon! A group of people pursued it.

"Give me back my mother-gold sword, dead dragon! I'll rip out your tendons and pluck your bones!"

"Why do I feel like something's going on here?" the strange dragon muttered. Suddenly, a pale little hand extended from the side and slapped it, sending it tumbling against the stone wall and rolling away. Yingying appeared, blocking its path forward.

"Good!" Behind them, the inheritors of the Taiwu lineage, the little crow, and others were overjoyed. This time, they absolutely had to subdue this dragon.

"Bang!" A large boulder in the middle of the stone wall was pushed aside, revealing another path. Chu Feng poked his head out, waving at the strange dragon, saying, "Brother Dragon, this way!" The strange dragon darted over with a whoosh. If it hadn't run over, it truly would have been savagely beaten. It was still somewhat bewildered: was it really so hateful in appearance? That group of people had willingly abandoned the other two dragons just to chase after it—this was simply... insane! It seethed with indignation.

"Good brother, you're truly excellent, with a great sense of justice. You didn't join forces with them," the strange dragon said, rushing over and patting Chu Feng's shoulder.

Chu Feng secretly curled his lip. He somewhat doubted whether this was truly an ancient demon. But he didn't show it, saying, "Of course. I feel a kinship with you at first sight. Besides, I absolutely detest shameful tactics like mobbing, which lack any skill or integrity!"

The strange dragon said, "I think you're quite good. Stick with Grandpa Dragon from now on, and I guarantee your rise. Don't let those little brats think they're prodigies; in my eyes, they're nothing special. We'll take them all down later, they're not worth a damn!"

"Alright, let's get closer in the future. What should I call you, Brother Dragon?" Chu Feng also patted its shoulder.

"My name is Dragon Dayu!" the strange dragon said, then its expression changed. "Run!" Because the pursuers were closing in.

Chu Feng's mouth twitched. This name was something else.

"Brother Dragon, you go first! Rush down this passage. There are a few young dragons hiding at the end. Call them, and fight your way out together. I'll hold them off for you!"

"Good brother, your righteousness reaches the heavens!" The strange dragon spoke politely, but its body was quite disloyal, turning and fleeing immediately.

Chu Feng shouted, "Brother Dragon, remember to make it clear to those young dragons: 'our own people don't fight our own people.' Show them my face using the Mirror Light technique to avoid misunderstanding and internal conflict!"

"You can rest assured when I'm on the job!" Dragon Dayu shouted, then vanished with a whoosh.

Chu Feng stood there chuckling. Then, his laughter ceased. The girl Yingying had been standing nearby the entire time, glaring at him indignantly. "Just pretend you didn't see or hear anything, comrade," Chu Feng said, then he too ran off. He certainly wouldn't genuinely help the strange dragon block its pursuers. It wasn't easy to find a scapegoat, so he might as well let its notoriety grow. He had only come over to forge a good relationship with the strange dragon, to "scheme great things" together in the future.

With a whoosh, he ran down another fork in the path, preparing for his Nirvana. At the same time, at the end of the path he had just pointed out, the strange dragon roared, "Follow me, little ones! Let's go kill those scoundrels and take on some servants together!"
