Chapter 1026: The Truth Behind the Fetal Confusion

Chu Feng discovered a terrifying problem: even hiding in the stone jar was useless; his memory was still fading, and all his impressions were blurring.

This horrified him. Was the influence of reincarnation so powerful that even the ultimate treasure stone jar couldn't block it?

"No, that's not right!" He wasn't completely disoriented yet, and a suspicion formed in his mind.

He wasn't truly reincarnated in the traditional sense; he had smuggled himself over with his physical body, so he shouldn't be experiencing "womb confusion." There was something else strange going on.

Chu Feng thought of a possibility: the reincarnation matter had acted upon him while he was in the ultimate land, accompanying him within his body.

Therefore, it wasn't that the stone jar couldn't isolate him from the ultimate land, but rather that substances or energies with that property were already on him, rendering hiding in the jar useless.

In fact, while the ultimate land was terrifying, it couldn't directly interfere with the Yang Realm, nor could it project its laws or enter the stone jar.

"I was afflicted long ago," he mused. "While I was unknowingly digging for thirty-three-layered sky grass and capturing the Solar Dragon River in the ultimate land, that special substance attached itself to me."

Chu Feng sighed softly. The ultimate end of reincarnation was indeed unfathomable. Despite his caution, he still experienced its side effects.

Fortunately, he could eliminate this effect in just three years, so it wasn't a major disaster.

When Chu Feng emerged from the stone jar again, he was already 1.5 million miles away. He quickly climbed a mountain peak, surveying the surroundings and actively searching for cities or settlements.

He didn't want to go to overly powerful sects, as he could easily expose himself. At the very least, he had to avoid the territories of forces like Taiwu, Hunyi, and Original.

"My head is a bit dizzy. I've really forgotten a lot of things; many details escape me. I need to hurry and find a fairy sister to take care of me."

Even in this state, he still couldn't let go of that thought.

"Huh, there's an animal trap here, and it's huge! Is it for hunting dragons?!" Chu Feng was speechless. Seeing the trap in the mountain forest, his eyes widened; it was several yards long and hidden in the dry grass.

What exactly was such a massive trap meant for?

Then he spotted wisps of smoke rising dozens of miles away. Sure enough, he had found a populated area, a place where people lived.

"Who will pick me up?"

Chu Feng vigorously shook his head, trying to stay clear-headed. He absolutely couldn't forget everything. He hadn't been discovered yet; what if a fierce beast ate him soon?

"There's someone in that direction!"

He heard shouts. There was a fierce battle going on in the mountains.

"Sigh, whether there's a fairy sister or not, I have no choice. I feel like I'm about to fully fall into the 'womb confusion' state."

Helpless, Chu Feng reluctantly approached the mountain range, still clutching the stone jar.

Meanwhile, on the way, he used his remaining clear moments to ponder what to do with the stone jar. Should he bury it in the mountain? Otherwise, if it fell into someone else's hands, all his secrets would be revealed.

However, burying it in the mountain also made him uneasy.

"Can I put it into the millstone space shrouded in grey mist inside my body?"

Chu Feng then proceeded to do so, and to his surprise, it worked smoothly. Using the Divine King Pill within his body as a guide, the stone jar sank into the grey mist, isolated from the outside world.

"Now I can relax!"

But soon, Chu Feng's mouth gaped into an 'O' shape. He saw a middle-aged, burly man, easily ten feet tall, with hands like palm-leaf fans and fists like small washbasins, fighting with explosive force and a powerful aura.

His opponent... was actually a butterfly!

This formidable man was locked in a fierce, bloody battle with a beautiful butterfly.

He was covered in blood and severely injured.

However, this butterfly was indeed unusual. It was over a meter long, covered in colorful patterns, and exceptionally beautiful.

It glowed with a shimmering luster, as if polished from colorful coral. Each time it flapped its wings, arcs of electricity shot out like blades of light, causing the burly man to tremble from the shocks and leaving numerous bloody, knife-like cuts on his body.

The burly man was a hunter, a master from a nearby tribe. His cultivation was at the Golden Body level, the same as the butterfly's, but he was suffering greatly.

This was a "Streamer Butterfly," capable of emitting light blades and releasing lightning. It was known as a killer among cultivators of the same level; few creatures could match it in combat.

For the man to have fought to this extent was already a testament to his strength.

At the Golden Body level, one would be considered powerful in the Underworld Universe, capable of shattering mountains and rivers. Here, however, they caused little disturbance, at most breaking stone tablets and cracking rocks.

This was because the Yang Realm had complete laws and an incredibly sturdy environment.

Forget the Golden Body level; even Divine Kings like Li Jiuxiao and Ji Caixuan would find it difficult to destroy mountains, rivers, or anything else here.

Chu Feng sighed, looking up at the sky. It seemed he wouldn't be waiting for a fairy sister after all. Instead, he was about to encounter a burly man with a full beard. He doubted whether such a rough man could raise him or even knew how to care for an infant.

"Forget about taking care of me; can you even survive yourself?" Chu Feng seriously wondered.

The butterfly was very powerful, shimmering with iridescent colors. Each flap of its wings released lightning and burst forth with light blades, leaving the man struggling, severely wounded, and on the verge of death.

At the same time, it was incredibly agile and fast, moving and flashing like a streak of light.

"I've finally seen someone; he's not going to be killed, is he?" Chu Feng frowned, thinking the hunter was no match for the Streamer Butterfly and would die there.

Suddenly, an anomaly occurred. The hunter roared, and his fists glowed. He was like a fierce tiger unleashed, and ultimately, he truly transformed into a white tiger.

"Huh, what kind of secret technique is this?" Chu Feng exclaimed in surprise. "His physical bones are cracking and popping; it's not an illusion. He's genuinely transformed into a white tiger."

"White Tiger Fist, manifesting both form and spirit, kill!" the man-turned-white-tiger roared, shaking the entire mountain forest with his immense killing aura.

The White Tiger, inherently a king among fierce beasts, specialized in combat. Now, it was filled with boundless ferocity, transforming into a streak of white light as it pounced, suppressing the Streamer Butterfly.

No matter how many light blades flew or how much lightning burst forth, they couldn't penetrate the valiant White Tiger. Its massive claws shattered rocks, dispersed electrical flashes, and clashed against the butterfly's wings with metallic clangs, sending sparks flying.

"Thwack!"

Finally, the Streamer Butterfly was crushed and annihilated by the White Tiger's claws. For the nearby tribes, this Streamer Butterfly had been a threat, and today it was eradicated.

After slaying the fierce butterfly, the burly man himself collapsed, reverting to his human form. His skin was bronzed, covered in wounds, and his clothes were tattered.

"What is this situation?" Chu Feng muttered. "In the end, he didn't pick me up, nor did a fairy adopt me. Instead, I've ended up picking up a big man."

Chu Feng walked over, approaching the scene. He was truly speechless. What kind of turn of events was this? He had wanted someone to take care of him, but the situation had completely reversed.

"He looks very simple and honest; he shouldn't be a bad person, right? Still, you can't judge a book by its cover. While I'm still clear-headed, I should quickly check him."

Chu Feng acted quickly, retrieving the stone jar again and putting the burly man inside. He used his soul light to investigate. Thankfully, despite the man's rough appearance and full beard, his nature was good.

Finally, Chu Feng found a spot to lie down, a good distance away, but still close enough to ensure the strong man would hear him if he pretended to cry loudly.

Fortunately, it wasn't long before the man woke up.

"There's a baby crying," the man mumbled. "Strange, how can such a small child be crying in the deep mountains?"

The burly man muttered, grimaced, and stood up, carrying the Streamer Butterfly's corpse as he searched for the source of the sound.

Chu Feng wanted to say, "Come over quickly! Crying like this is really embarrassing, isn't it?"

To his surprise, after the man found him and took one look, his face immediately changed, and he turned and ran.

"Why did this big oaf run off?!" Chu Feng was stunned. This was completely different from what he had imagined. How could this strong man have no sympathy at all?

"Fox demon, I know this is your transformation! Don't try to fool me; I won't fall for it!" the man shouted from a distance.

Chu Feng was instantly speechless. Whom had he provoked to be called a fox demon? It seemed there were all sorts of strange things in these mountains, posing a considerable threat to the nearby tribes.

The man waited for a long time but saw no sign of the fox demon acting viciously. He began to feel confused. Could it really be a child?

He returned. If it truly was an infant, walking away like that would be abandoning a life, equivalent to leaving someone to die.

"Slap!"

Chu Feng was still pretending to cry when he suddenly received a slap on his bare bottom. His little behind instantly turned red, enraging him so much that he almost jumped up to fight the big man!

Damn it, he actually slapped him! This was outrageous!

"Hmm, it must not be a fox demon," the man muttered to himself. "Otherwise, it would have jumped up and attacked me by now."

Chu Feng wanted to hit him. Who could he complain to about this? If he weren't desperate to be adopted, he wouldn't have tolerated it.

Then, he was directly picked up by that palm-fan-like hand and, along with the Streamer Butterfly, was put into an animal skin bag. The man then hoisted the bag onto his back and walked away.

Chu Feng was speechless. He felt that choosing this person for adoption meant he was likely in for three years of suffering. Who would do something like this? The man was utterly inconsiderate! He was an infant, yet he was stuffed into an animal skin bag with prey? It was too wild and rough.

Chu Feng worried, feeling that the next three years of his life would be dark. Could this big man really keep him alive? He feared being force-fed and choking to death, convinced the man wouldn't know how to care for anyone.

"I'll hand him over to the fairy at the temple later," the man muttered to himself. "If he stays by my side, I might accidentally step on him and kill him."

Chu Feng almost burst into tears upon hearing that. Was it really so dangerous to be around this strong man? Fortunately, heaven had pity; there really was a fairy! He was so moved he wanted to cry, realizing his dream might actually come true.
