Chapter 80: Capturing Ahuizila Alive

Ahui La gathered all the treasures and captives he had acquired. After distributing the grain and wealth, he carefully observed the captives for a moment. He then picked up the most beautiful woman, held her in his arms, and seeing her tremble, burst into laughter:“These human women are truly beautiful.”

The surrounding tribesmen immediately erupted in boisterous laughter. Ahui La joined in for a while, then muttered bitterly, “If it weren’t for Ganixi, that hungry wolf, advancing eastward, how would we have fallen to such a state? It’s hateful that my Ahui tribe’s great stronghold of three thousand people was utterly destroyed by him.”

At the mention of Ganixi’s name, the tribesmen instantly stopped laughing. Their tattooed faces filled with fear and hatred, and someone whispered, “People from the south say that Ganixi was born to be the Wolf King who would unite all the Shan Yue tribes of the northern foothills…”

“I even heard that he was born from the coupling of a man and a wolf! Vicious as a wolf, cunning as a fox, sent eastward by the command of his ancestors…”

Ahui La shivered, quickly interrupting the speaker. He shouted, “What nonsense are you talking?! That’s bad luck!”

With that, he raised his cup and yelled, “Drink! We just plundered this Li family tribe, why aren’t we celebrating? Come on! Each person gets a captive!”

The tribesmen immediately grinned, shouting boisterously. Ahui La laughed heartily, cursing the Li family for being weak, but secretly thought to himself, “That arrow-wielder is not weak. Tomorrow, after another raid, we should distance ourselves from this Li family tribe, lest they retaliate.”

“Wait.”

Ahui La was suddenly startled and roared, “How long has it been since the scouts reported back?!”

The tribesmen burst into laughter, shouting, “Don’t worry, Great King! How could mere mortals detect our scouts?”

Ahui La felt a sharp pain on his face. He suddenly looked up, and a white glow slowly appeared before his eyes, startling him so much that his legs went weak. He collapsed to the ground, scrambling backward a step. The arrow struck right in front of him, embedding itself directly into the earth, kicking up a plume of dust and leaving a small hole.

Immediately, cries of battle erupted all around. Flames rose from the surrounding mountain forests as Li family soldiers, armed with blades, charged into the chaotic Shan Yue ranks. The tribesmen who had been drinking were already riddled with arrows like sieves. Ahui La slowly rose to his feet, speaking in disbelief, “How is this possible?”

Raising the large hammer in his hand, Ahui La roared furiously, “Get up! All of you, get up!”

The scattered Shan Yue tribesmen seemed to find their pillar of strength and converged around him. Ahui La looked around, silently estimating, realizing there were only two or three hundred people left beside him. The entire Shan Yue tribe had been split into four or five fragments, struggling amidst the blades.

“It’s over.”

Ahui La’s heart sank, but then he saw a middle-aged man slowly approaching from not far away. The man was clad in light armor, carrying a grayish-white longsword. A faint light emanated from the blade, and sharp gray glows flickered in and out, making Ahui La’s eyelids twitch.

“Damn it!”

With a light step, the middle-aged man instantly closed the distance and thrust his sword towards Ahui La.

Ahui La quickly raised his large hammer to block, but the impact nearly knocked it from his hand. His internal organs ached, and a sudden dread filled him, knowing that this person’s cultivation was far superior to his own.

---

Li Xuanxuan cut down the Shan Yue tribesmen before him. His level-three 'Fetal Breathing' cultivation made him like an adult armed to the teeth amidst a group of children in a chaotic brawl. He could effortlessly sweep away three or four opponents, and a single casual punch could kill one.

Moreover, twelve elite clan soldiers, handpicked for their skill, followed closely, protecting him, the young family head. They scanned their surroundings with cold gazes.

Li Xuanxuan fought with gusto, as if the ferocity within him had been unleashed. His eyes red, he picked up an old Shan Yue tribesman, preparing to hurl him away, but was caught off guard by the old man’s gaze.

Full white hair, deep wrinkles, terrified eyes—it was as if a loud slap had struck Li Xuanxuan’s face. His limbs went numb with shock as he stared at the old man, who was old enough to be his grandfather, momentarily stunned.

To his surprise, the old Shan Yue tribesman cried out, tears streaming down his face, and bit hard into Li Xuanxuan’s arm, shattering his own rotten teeth in the process. It was like another slap across Li Xuanxuan’s face, and in a reflexive shock, he slammed the old man down with force.

The old man’s bones instantly shattered as he hit the ground, and a mixture of blood and feces erupted from his lower body. He let out a shriek that was not human, his eyes fixed on Li Xuanxuan with an unwavering hatred that brought tears to Li Xuanxuan’s eyes.

Li Xuanxuan felt dizzy and stood still for two breaths, sensing a chill spread from the top of his head down into his spine.

The world before him suddenly grew quiet. The noise and shouts gradually faded, and the world, which had been veiled for fifteen years, finally revealed a corner of its truth to him.

“So… that’s how it is…”

Slowly drawing the broadsword from his waist, Li Xuanxuan was no longer agitated. Instead, he calmly, and without a word, began to kill.

Not far away.

“Great King, withdraw quickly, Great King!”

Several tribesmen were screaming in terror. Ahui La shook his head. After receiving a sword strike from Li Tongya, his large hammer instantly flew from his hand, and he cursed, “How can we withdraw now?! We’re completely surrounded! How can we escape?!”

Ahui La watched his tribesmen fall one by one, crying out in anguish, “Stop! Stop! I surrender!”

The gray light on Li Tongya’s sword slowly faded as he quietly stared at Ahui La. The surrounding tribesmen immediately dropped to the ground, covering their heads, while the clan soldiers paused in surprise. Then, a command rang out: “Those who surrender will not be killed! Those who surrender will not be killed!”

In an instant, large groups of tribesmen threw down their weapons and knelt. Ahui La sighed, dropped his other large hammer, and dejectedly knelt down. All at once, the numerous shouts and sounds of battle on the field slowly subsided.

The Shan Yue tribesmen were one by one bound and tied. The Li family soldiers, whose discipline was quite strict, led them away without a word. From extreme chaos to extreme silence, Ahui La’s heart suddenly tightened. He secretly wondered, “Are these ‘mortals’ different from our tribesmen? Will they be executed even after surrendering? That would be a huge loss; it would have been better to fight him to the very end…”

“How did this man bypass my eyes and ears in the mountains! Oh well, oh well, I’ve truly fallen this time.”

As he was lost in thought, head bowed, Ahui La suddenly saw a pair of gray wolf-skin boots stop before him. He quickly raised his head with a fawning smile, only to be met with an angular face, narrow eyebrows, and a pair of fierce eyes.

“Ganixi?!”

Ahui La was suddenly startled, his lips trembling uncontrollably, nearly making him leap from the ground. The shock within him was inexpressible.

Upon closer inspection, Ahui La nervously realized that those eyes were not the nightmarishly vicious brownish-yellow he expected, but a calm grayish-black.
