Chapter 912: Void Genesis

Qi Jiuyi had originally intended to gather some rhomboid crystals, but hearing Qin Mu's words, he instantly abandoned the idea. He smiled, "Cult Master Qin, your divine consciousness is powerful enough. If you use this treasure for void creation, how strong would the Earth Count you create be? Could it surpass you?"

Qin Mu shook his head. He picked up the small Earth Count he had just created through void creation, placing it in his palm. "He possesses little strength," Qin Mu said. "He also lacks a soul; he is merely a confused creature that appears fierce."

Qi Jiuyi poked the small Earth Count with a finger. "Then this type of crystal is useless," he stated. "A life created this way is so much weaker than you, not even a divine arts practitioner. Moreover, without a soul, it cannot cultivate. What good is it?"

His finger pressed against the small Earth Count. The tiny creature, fierce as it was, latched onto his finger, attempting to swing him around. However, its strength was too meager, and it couldn't budge him, leading it to roar in frustration.

Qin Mu set the small Earth Count down. "If my hypothesis is correct," he said, "the prehistoric creators must have possessed extraordinary divine consciousness. Their spiritual sense must have been incredibly potent, and their mental awareness astonishingly strong. Observe, the carvings show that each of them could utilize crystals for void creation, whereas I only achieved this after cultivating the Three Yuan God Indestructible Divine Consciousness. In other words, every one of them possessed a divine consciousness comparable to mine!"

Qi Jiuyi saw nothing amiss, but Dragon Qilin and Yan'er grasped the implication of his words.

Qin Mu's Indestructible Divine Consciousness was already terrifyingly powerful. After deciphering the cultivation method of Yan Shaoqing, a Lingxiao realm expert hailed as the Heavenly Court's foremost divine consciousness master, Qin Mu could create illusions and dreams to ensnare him!

Qin Mu's divine consciousness might not be as profound as Yan Shaoqing's, but its quality far exceeded his.

If every prehistoric creator possessed a divine consciousness no weaker than his, how terrifying would that be?

Qin Mu pointed to the prehistoric creators depicted in the carvings. "Even more remarkably," he continued, "their physical bodies also grew significantly larger than before. I believe they were using void creation to enhance their own bodies."

Puzzled, Dragon Qilin asked, "Cult Master, how can one use void creation to enhance their physical body?"

"Using these crystals and one's powerful divine consciousness to transform the physical body wouldn't be harder than creating a small Earth Count."

Qin Mu explained, "Earlier, in the Blood Rust Zone, we saw a skull as massive as a planet; its complete body must have been even larger than its head. Who could grow to such a size? This must have been the prehistoric creators using these crystals to modify their physical bodies, enabling themselves to grow progressively larger."

He paused, then returned to the previous carvings. "The first giant who obtained the crystal also became taller and stronger than the others, which suggests that enhancing the physical body through the art of creation is indeed feasible. Furthermore, there's a crucial point: they were immortals, arguably even gods!"

Qi Jiuyi's brow furrowed deeply.

Qin Mu's expression grew solemn. In a deep voice, he said, "When the art of creation is cultivated to a certain level, one can achieve immortality, and their physical body will never perish. Even if you are merely a divine arts practitioner in the Spirit Embryo realm, as long as you master the art of creation, you can become ageless, immortal, and indestructible, just like a god! These prehistoric creators were likely a group of immortal and indestructible deities themselves!"

He felt this deeply, as he was precisely such a person.

For divine arts practitioners, a god is someone whose primordial spirit has ascended to the Celestial Palace realm, granting them immortality, immense magical power, and vast divine abilities.

However, for an entity like Qin Mu, the common divine arts practitioners' definition of a god was nothing short of a joke.

Firstly, the realms themselves were created by the Seven Celestial Venerables, and Qin Mu had even participated in the process of establishing them.

In the early Dragon Han era, he, in place of Imperial Emperor, taught all beings the method of deification. Alongside Haotianzun, he established seven divine realms from the Southern Heavenly Gate to the Heavenly Court, collectively known as the Seven Celestial Palace Realms.

Subsequently, Qin Mu, Xu Shenghua, and other talents from Eternal Peace repeatedly broke through realm barriers, effectively condensing the seven divine treasure realms into a single realm.

Qin Mu had even reopened the Spirit Embryo Divine Treasure to reshape souls.

Ordinary people revered realms, cultivating diligently within their confines, following a rigid path.

Geniuses, however, pioneered realms, transcending their limitations.

They were the true creators of realms.

Qi Jiuyi observed the figures on the carvings, shaking his head. "Even if they achieve immortality, it's insignificant," he said. "They merely possess powerful physical bodies but remain utterly ignorant of the Grand Dao divine arts. Furthermore, this method of creation, beyond making one slightly sturdier and immortal, is actually of little practical use. The beings it creates are simply too weak."

"What if countless prehistoric creators simultaneously activated their Indestructible Divine Consciousness, envisioning the same object?" Qin Mu asked.

Qi Jiuyi froze, suddenly recalling the altar outside and the skeletons surrounding it. He gasped, "Are you suggesting that the Heaven Duke who attacked us was a creation of their void arts?"

Qin Mu walked forward to examine other carvings. "The skeletons around the altar were actually priests among the prehistoric creators," he explained. "They gathered everyone's divine consciousness, which, amplified by these crystals, allowed them to create a Heaven Duke that they could control."

Qi Jiuyi shook his head, genuinely shocked and awed. If tens of thousands of prehistoric creators simultaneously envisioned the same powerful being, how incredibly strong would the creature born from their collective divine consciousness be?

What if even more prehistoric creators joined forces?

Wouldn't the beings they created be even mightier?

Was there a limit to this immense power?

Suddenly, Qi Jiuyi burst into laughter. "Even if they can perform void creation and manifest a Heaven Duke," he declared loudly, "it still cannot compare to the true Heaven Duke! The real Heaven Duke is the embodiment of the Heavenly Dao, the master of Xuandu, and the foremost among all righteous gods in the world!"

Qin Mu stood before another carving. "Look here," he said.

Qi Jiuyi looked at the carving. It depicted prehistoric creators, each with a crystal on their forehead, who created beings far more powerful than themselves. They then commanded these beings to fight and slaughter other prehistoric creator races.

He also observed another carving: a leader of the prehistoric creators stood within an altar, holding a golden scepter, arms outstretched, gazing skyward.

Surrounding the altar, other creators performed rituals together, worshipping this individual, making their leader even more powerful.

This leader possessed incredible abilities; divine arts even manifested from him!

Qi Jiuyi watched with a pounding heart, his voice hoarse. "Divine arts cannot be born this way!" he asserted. "Divine arts are when ancient gods master the Grand Dao of Heaven and Earth and unleash its power! As for us acquired beings, our divine arts are developed by observing ancient gods and learning the Grand Dao of Heaven and Earth from them!"

Qin Mu shook his head and continued walking forward.

This open-air hall resembled a prehistoric epic, chronicling various events from that era.

They observed the prehistoric creators fabricating ox-headed, human-bodied monsters, humanoid beings, and bizarre life forms with bird heads and human bodies, beast heads and human bodies, snake heads and human bodies, and human heads and snake bodies.

Qi Jiuyi's face grew increasingly pale. He even saw these prehistoric creators creating phoenixes!

"Hehehe..." he chuckled, but remained silent.

The content recorded on the carvings was terrifying; the species created by these prehistoric creators grew increasingly bizarre, with some even bearing a striking resemblance to ancient gods!

"They are imitating the ancient gods!"

Qi Jiuyi scoffed, "Life created by imitating ancient gods can never rival or surpass them!"

"Did they imitate the ancient gods," Qin Mu mused, "or did they *create* the ancient gods?"

Qi Jiuyi stared blankly, then suddenly roared in anger, "Blasphemy! Do you realize what you're saying?"

Qin Mu, also finding his own conjecture absurd, let out a chuckle, shook his head, and continued to examine the stone carvings.

Qi Jiuyi was beside himself with rage. "Do you realize," he demanded sternly, "that what you're implying is that these barbarians created the Heavenly Emperor, Heaven Duke, Earth Count, Earth Mother, and even the Grand Dao of Heaven and Earth itself? Do you know what you're saying?"

Qin Mu ignored him and pressed on. The content of the carvings grew progressively more astonishing.

These prehistoric creators formed several large tribes. They gathered more people, enabling them to wield greater sacrificial power.

They also initiated grander sacrificial ceremonies, with countless three-eyed tribespeople performing rituals day and night, preparing to create even more powerful spiritual entities to destroy and conquer their adversaries.

However, one race chose to sacrifice to their leader, aiming to make him even more powerful.

Their leader's physical body grew immeasurably vast, residing high above the heavens. Countless giants encircled him, the crystals on their foreheads radiating light. Innumerable beams shone upon him, making him appear utterly sacred.

This leader also bore a crystal on his forehead, distinct from the others; it was cinnabar red, emanating an enchanting luster, and absorbed the light from the other giants' crystals.

Qin Mu carefully examined the leader's face, though his features were obscured by the light emanating from the crystal and had not been carved.

Qi Jiuyi continued to follow beside him, stating coldly, "They are merely using divine consciousness for creation; they can never conjure true deities. Ancient gods cannot be created; they can only be born from the Grand Dao of Heaven and Earth!"

Qin Mu looked at another carving, whose content was quite intriguing.

The carving showed almost all the prehistoric creators of a large tribe gathered together, concentrating their divine consciousness and using their thoughts to create a grand world in the void, far from the troublesome reality!

They sought to create another world, to escape the conflicts of the real world, and to relocate their entire tribe there.

"Void creation of a world! Could these prehistoric creators succeed... Wait, Wuyouxiang! Is Emperor Kai's Wuyouxiang also a void-created realm?"

The more Qin Mu thought about it, the more excited he became. He continued to look ahead, then suddenly paused. The stone wall before them had no more carvings.

The carvings ahead had all been destroyed by an immense force, leaving only shattered stone slabs on the ground.

He bent down to examine them. Most of these stone slabs showed no carving marks, indicating their contents had likely been erased first. Still, whoever did it wasn't fully satisfied, so they destroyed the carvings altogether.

He meticulously checked, wanting to see if anything had been overlooked.

"Cult Master Qin," Qi Jiuyi interjected, "you've forgotten the most crucial point! Ancient gods possess souls, whereas the creations of the prehistoric creators lack them! The Heaven Duke earlier had no soul, and this small Earth Count you created also has no soul!"

Qi Jiuyi continued, "The prehistoric creators blasphemed the ancient gods by imitating them to create life. They encroached upon the ancient gods' interests, offended them, and used their grotesque creations to wage war. Their crime deserved ten thousand deaths! They deserved to be annihilated!"

He was clearly agitated, his Dao heart unstable.

The usually reticent Qi Jiuyi now chattered incessantly behind Qin Mu, ostensibly trying to persuade Qin Mu, but in truth, attempting to convince himself.

Qin Mu's recent remark had profoundly affected him, leaving him disoriented.

He had indeed grasped a crucial point: neither the Heaven Duke who attacked them nor the small Earth Count created by Qin Mu possessed souls or conscious thought.

Dragon Qilin said, "Third Brother, the Heaven Duke here was merely constructed from the residual divine consciousness of the prehistoric creators; it wasn't in its full, prime state. What if, in prehistoric times, they genuinely could create a Heaven Duke with both thought and a soul?"

Qi Jiuyi stared blankly for a moment, then stammered, "Second Brother, you too are committing blasphemy..."

Qin Mu looked up and scanned his surroundings, searching.

"Found it!"

He let out a cheer and hurried forward. Qi Jiuyi, still disoriented, followed him, still trying to persuade him. "Cult Master Qin," he insisted, "you must understand that such thoughts are blasphemy against the ancient gods. You should repent..."

Qin Mu arrived at the center of the hall, looked up, and smiled. "Brother Qi," he said, "what do you all see when you look up at the sky?"

Qi Jiuyi looked up to see stars embedded in the dark expanse. "The starry sky and its constellations, of course," he replied.

Dragon Qilin looked up and remarked, "There are some stars in the sky."

Yan'er, with her keen eyesight, smiled. "Those stars are fake," she said. "They appear far away, but they're actually not."

Qi Jiuyi looked bewildered. "This starry sky is identical to the real one; how could it be fake... Ah! You're right! It is fake! This is the Blood Rust Zone, teeming with fragmented continents and planets hurtling about, and countless gigantic skeletons. We shouldn't be able to see the outer starry sky at all!"

Qin Mu smiled. "This is the treasure my senior brother Wei Suifeng left for me."
