Before them, the sky and the earth presented a miraculous spectacle where heaven and earth seemed to connect, caused by a massive hole blasted through both.
This enormous hole was difficult to describe. How could the sky, inherently empty, have a hole blasted through it?
The earth was incredibly thick and heavy; even digging a large hole would not penetrate it. Yet, the hole before them presented another kind of unbelievably magnificent wonder.
The Grandmaster of Eternal Peace must have activated the Heaven-Quaking Cauldron at a moment of crisis, unleashing its immense power. Using the divine ability of this celestial weapon, he simultaneously blasted through the sky and earth of both this world and another, creating a magnificent scene that connected the two realms!
Furthermore, the Cauldron's power was so immense that the two realms it pierced have been unable to recover to this day. The barriers between the two worlds cannot heal!
In front of this great hole, the Great Ruins and Eternal Peace side was enveloped in night. Yet, behind the hole, a sun was rising, casting its light upon towering, dark demon fortresses.
The sky of the other world lay below the horizon of the Divine Broken Mountain Range, while its continent appeared to be above the Divine Broken Mountain Range's sky. From Qin Mu and the others' vantage point, looking up, they could see the land of that world. Various sharp and pointed structures, resembling long knives, swords, and spears, stood vertically for thousands of feet, appearing grim and terrifying.
That was an architectural style completely different from Eternal Peace. Magnificent yet sinister demon fortresses sat on rolling mountains, some even floating in the air. The sunlight from the other world spilled down, casting the shadows of these fortresses into the darkness of the Divine Broken Mountain Range.
The trees and rocks of that world all appeared in abnormal, twisted, and horrifying forms.
The sunlight from the other world shone from below, illuminating Qin Mu and the others. Standing before this colossal circular opening, they appeared as tiny as a few ants.
The light from the alien world stretched their shadows long, yet these shadows appeared minuscule compared to the hole itself.
Below their feet was the sun, and above their heads was land, as if they stood before a massive mirror reflecting an inverted world.
Moreover, this mirror-like opening was constantly vibrating slightly, causing the surrounding rocks of the Divine Broken Mountain Range to float and sway continuously in the air.
Qin Mu and the others also felt their bodies go numb and their primordial spirits become unstable from the tremors.
One could only imagine how terrifying the energy unleashed by the Grandmaster of Eternal Peace from the Heaven-Quaking Cauldron must have been at that time!
“The tremors here are erupting from this hole,” Qin Mu realized, “not from the Grandmaster activating the Heaven-Quaking Cauldron.”
Qin Mu's heart sank. After entering the Divine Broken Mountain Range, he had felt intermittent tremors and had assumed it was the Grandmaster activating the Heaven-Quaking Cauldron. He hadn't expected the tremors to be emanating from this opening connecting the two realms.
The Grandmaster of Eternal Peace and his companions were not here, making their fate uncertain.
He looked up and saw that on the floating continent in the sky, a powerful and majestic demon god was performing a soul-leaving ritual, petrifying its physical body.
Many grotesquely shaped demon races, like industrious ants, were building a massive altar around the petrified body of the demon god. Tens of thousands of demon slaves were led to the altar and beheaded. Through blood sacrifice, they were attempting to send the demon god's stone statue over.
Priests and mages wearing bones and feathers performed rituals on the massive altar. The sight of blood surging around the altar was reflected in the eyes of Qin Mu and the others, possessing a cruel beauty.
This scene was both shocking and brutally terrifying.
That world was still in a barbaric and bloody tribal era; their divine abilities were primitive and full of gore.
“The Grandmaster of Eternal Peace has really stirred up a hornet's nest!” Qin Mu thought.
Qin Mu's scalp tingled. The Heaven-Quaking Cauldron had opened a passage to another world, and the demon world on the other side clearly had a large number of gods and demons. Seeing the world where Eternal Peace resided, the demon gods were naturally delighted, developing a desire for conquest. They even went so far as to petrify themselves to send their bodies to Eternal Peace!
Strangely, however, although these demon god statues were sent over, they didn't attempt to conduct even larger-scale sacrifices to expand the opening blasted by the Heaven-Quaking Cauldron. Instead, they were searching for something.
“Furthermore, with such a large opening, why aren't any demons coming through it?” Qin Mu wondered.
Dragon King God made a discovery and quickly said, “My Lord, there are demon armies on the altar over there!”
Qin Mu looked in the direction he indicated, his heart growing solemn.
Slaves from the demon world were building a massive altar, several times larger than the previous one. The altar's body resembled a flattened mountain. Tens of thousands of demon mages floated around the altar, using the blood of slaves to carve runes on it.
Meanwhile, a vast army of demons was majestically marching towards the center of the altar from its edges. They were likely preparing to use this as an opportunity to send their forces to Eternal Peace!
“Could it be that this opening cannot be directly traversed,” Qin Mu mused, “and they can only rely on the power of blood sacrifice to allow demon warriors to enter Eternal Peace?”
Qin Mu was stunned. He stretched out his hand, attempting to reach into the other world through the opening, but it was as if he encountered an invisible barrier. Even though the other world was right in front of him, he couldn't enter.
Dragon King God, Dragon Qilin, and the others also tested it. The stronger their power, the stronger the resistance, and they were unable to enter that space-time.
Suddenly, with a colossal thud, the sound of a heavy object landing echoed, startling Qin Mu and the others. It was the demon god statue, sent over from the opposing world. The hundred-zhang-tall statue stood silently to their right, merely a hundred feet or so away.
On the statue's surface, runes formed from fresh blood twisted and rotated, shifting forms, gradually receding into the statue's body.
The statue suddenly stirred, slowly moving its body. Clearly, the priests and mages of the other world had used blood sacrifices of slaves to imbue these statues with the ability to move independently.
However, they were still unable to transmit their immense power, nor could they restore the statues to their fleshly forms.
“Quick, let's go!”
Dragon King God quickly carried them, circling around the enormous opening and rushing into the distance.
Qin Mu stood on Dragon King God's back and looked back. He saw the statue suddenly bend down, reaching its hands towards the ground. Its two arms drilled into the earth like drills. Then, the statue plunged headfirst into the earth, its body slowly disappearing.
“This statue is also searching for something!” Qin Mu thought. “What exactly are they looking for? Are the Grandmaster, Grandpa Blind, and the others still alive? If so, where are they hiding?”
Qin Mu activated his Nine Heavens Divine Eye, meticulously searching for traces of the Grandmaster of Eternal Peace and his companions. He continued northward, seeing more battle scars—marks left by Butcher, Blind, and others from their clashes with the Celestial Gods.
“Dragon King God, be careful!”
Qin Mu saw a black line suspended motionless in the air and quickly told Dragon King God to stop. Dragon King God paused slightly, also noticing something amiss.
He went around the black line and saw that as his gaze shifted, the black line slowly widened. It was a saber gleam suspended in mid-air that had merely cut open space. Space had trapped the gleam, but the divine power within the saber remained contained, preventing space from healing!
“What terrifying saber technique!”
Dragon King God couldn't help but feel a chill. This saber technique could already be called a divine saber art, reaching the level of the Dao realm, irresistible and terrifyingly powerful.
“Grandpa Butcher's Heavenly Saber, the Pig Butchering Knife Skill!”
Qin Mu couldn't help but marvel. He had also learned the Pig Butchering Knife Skill, but he had always found it difficult to perform it at Butcher's level.
Butcher's saber was too wild. Even if others learned it, they would find it hard to fully unleash its power. Only by being as wild as Butcher himself could its true power be realized.
Next, they saw a sea of fire, extremely hot, melting mountains. Even the darkness struggled to engulf this sea of fire.
“Grandpa Mute's iron-smelting furnace has been shattered!”
Qin Mu's heart seized. The sea of fire was caused by Grandpa Mute's furnace. The furnace had been shattered, and its flames had formed this inferno.
“Could Grandpa Mute have met a tragic end?”
They crossed the sea of fire, and suddenly Qin Mu saw Old Buddha.
Old Buddha sat in a meditative posture, surrounded by his twenty celestial realms. Various Buddhas encircled him, and gods of all sizes from the twenty heavens sat scattered in the air around him.
Beside Old Buddha stood a Celestial God.
The two faced each other.
Qin Mu paused, sighed, bowed to Old Buddha, then lifted him and placed him on Dragon King God's back, continuing forward.
“Young Master, why is that old monk motionless? And why do you have to carry him?” Fox Spirit asked curiously, looking back.
Qin Mu shook his head and said, “He perished together with that god.”
Fox Spirit was stunned.
Not long after, Qin Mu saw Old Dao Master. This old Daoist, with one hand forming a sword seal and the other holding his sword behind his back, exuded an ethereal Daoist aura. He looked up at a god on a cliff ahead, who was leaning out halfway, a smile on his face.
Divine light shot from Qin Mu's eyes, revealing that the god's glabella had been pierced by a sword. The sword mark was very fine, almost imperceptible.
He looked at Old Dao Master, who was severely damaged, covered in wounds that had stopped bleeding.
Fox Spirit asked, “Is the old Daoist still alive?”
Qin Mu shook his head, walked forward, and gently lifted Old Dao Master. He softly said, “His blood has run dry. His last sword strike must have been his primordial spirit transforming into a sword, piercing that god's glabella. He used his primordial spirit as a sword, transforming it into the Dao. When this sword struck, the power of the move erupted, and his primordial spirit would also erupt, then dissipate as the power of this move was exhausted.”
Though their paths differed and the Heavenly Devil Cult's Dao was unlike that of the Dao Sect, Qin Mu still held deep respect for this Old Dao Master.
Fox Spirit's expression turned solemn. She adjusted her clothes and respectfully bowed to Old Dao Master, saying, “A righteous hero in his twilight years, his spirit fierce. My respects!”
Seeing this, the flood dragons also stood on their hind legs and bowed their claws to Old Dao Master, chanting, “Maha!”
They continued forward and saw a large snake coiled on the ground; it was Willow Immortal.
The stone statues arriving from the other world became gradually sparse, but the ominous aura grew increasingly dense. Qin Mu's eyelids twitched, fearful of seeing the corpses of Cripple, Granny Si, and the others.
He laboriously dragged Willow Immortal, placing her body on Dragon King God's back as well. He said with sorrow, “Village Chief said someone always has to collect the bodies. Senior Sister Willow Immortal, I'm here. Come home with me…”
They then saw White Immortal. White Immortal's back was covered in silver thorns, with a spool of thread on the thorns. He held a tray in his hand, on which lay silver needles.
A large hole was torn through his chest, with a massive hand protruding from it. He must have just killed his opponent, but he hadn't anticipated that the opponent's dying strike would still take his life.
All around was silent, with rocks floating in the darkness and mist.
As Qin Mu and the others walked, the geomagnetic force beneath their feet seemed to vanish. There was a strange force field here. Qin Mu looked up and saw stars.
Great Luo Heavenly Stars!
“Granny…” His heart clenched.
That was a starry sky formed by the power of the Great Luo Heavenly Stars Palm. He saw Granny Si sitting motionless in the starry sky. The exquisitely beautiful woman extended a palm, and the power of the Great Luo Heavenly Stars Palm burst forth from it. She remained peerlessly graceful.
