Chapter 388: Divine Gun Awakening

Qin Mu hadn't teleported him very far; he was less than a mile from Misui Pass, with the Great Ruins directly behind him. For the blind man, disrupting Qin Mu's teleportation was not difficult; Qin Mu could at most only send him to this spot.

The blind man silently returned to Misui Pass to find Qin Mu. Without a word, he unsealed the divine treasure imprints on Ling Yuxiu and Si Yunxiang, then walked away alone, tapping his bamboo staff.

Qin Mu was stunned. "Grandpa Blind..."

"He's grown up, he's grown up..."

Murky tears streamed from the old blind man's empty eye sockets; the faster he walked, the more tears flowed. The child he had raised had finally grown up, and his heart was suddenly filled with a bittersweet sense of loss. Qin Mu likely wouldn't return to Disabled Elderly Village with him anymore, no longer the small boy who used to carry him while practicing martial arts.

This found child now had his own thoughts and the ability to protect himself. His heart had grown wild; having seen the outside world, he would no longer wish to remain in Disabled Elderly Village, a place populated only by old men and women.

The old blind man walked very fast. Qin Mu rushed to the fortress wall of Misui Pass, where he could only see the blind man's retreating figure by the river, appearing somewhat lonely and desolate.

The young man also felt a bit melancholic. He raised his hand but said nothing. The old blind man walked away with his back to him, yet he seemed to sense the raised hand, and he too raised his hand without looking back.

Qin Mu saw the blind man lower his hand, seemingly wiping his eye sockets as if to clear away tears.

The blind man walked rapidly along the riverbank, and after a long while, he finally reached Disabled Elderly Village.

There were no other people in the village; it had become the domain of the Dragon Hens. Many hens had laid numerous clutches of Dragon Hens, which had moved into the rooms of the Village Chief, the blind man, and others. Seeing the blind man return, an arrogant young Dragon Hen charged forward to fight, intending to drive the old blind man out of its territory.

A moment later, a featherless Dragon Hen was spitted on the bamboo staff and roasted over a bonfire. The other Dragon Hens huddled in corners, trembling and watching the old blind man in terror.

The blind man then went to the Butcher's room, dug out several jars of wine from under the bed, and ate the roasted Dragon Hen while drinking the wine.

After eating and drinking his fill, he left a pile of chicken bones on the ground, stood up, and reached for his bamboo staff, only to find it had already been burned to ashes by the bonfire.

The blind man paused, then clapped the ashes from his hands before striding out of the village towards the Surging River beyond.

"How many years has it been..."

He muttered to himself as he walked, "Old brother, how many years have you been with me? When I fell into decline, I carried you here. The Village Chief said my heart was broken, and I was unworthy of you, so he told me to let you rest, to bury you in this Surging River. He said that in Disabled Elderly Village, I would no longer need you."

The Surging River's surface gradually began to ripple, a faint vibration emanating from the riverbed, as regular concentric waves spread outwards.

The blind man walked towards the river surface, his tattered clothes flapping in the wind.

"When I abandoned you back then, my heart was dead, devoid of any vitality or joy. Before, when you followed me, it was because of my strength, my invincibility, and my arrogance!"

He stood on the river surface, and from his small body, an incredibly terrifying battle intent suddenly erupted. His dreadful aura shot straight into the sky, causing the clouds in mid-air to twist and transform into a gigantic Black Tortoise — a mythical creature depicted as a tortoise entwined with a snake. The tortoise part was the Black Tortoise itself, with a dragon head and tortoise body, while the snake part was the Soaring Snake, flying with a thousand wings.

Suddenly, murmurs rose from the riverbed – a peculiar sound, like a dragon's roar mixed with the whispers of the dead, containing both dragon language and sounds from exotic worlds.

Upon hearing this sound, it felt as if a long, flexible body was slowly rising from the river, rotating and coiling around the blind man's slender physique.

"Sator, Mobasa, Hemitos..."

"I was defeated."

The blind man stood there ramrod straight. He was short, shorter than everyone else in the village except for the Village Chief and the former Butcher. Despite his small stature, he exuded an exceptionally tall, mighty, and upright presence.

A gloomy expression crossed the blind man's face as he murmured, "My divine eyes were gouged out, and my Dao heart was broken. I became unworthy of you. Rather than saying I abandoned you, it's more accurate to say you abandoned me. At that time, I was utterly defeated and didn't deserve to possess you."

The waves on the river surface grew larger and larger, and water patterns spun as a huge whirlpool appeared in the middle of the river. From the whirlpool, the strange voice boomed with terrifying majesty: "Hemitos, Ihesusopha!"

"I have reclaimed my Dao heart!"

The blind man's brows and hair fluttered, his clothes puffed outwards, and his voice thundered, shaking the heavens. His battle intent became incredibly sharp and powerful, as if a god had reappeared in the world. "The former me pursued the extreme of divine eyes, seeing through everything but failing to see through human hearts! But the current me has someone to protect. For this child, I have rekindled my fighting spirit, my belief, and my Dao heart!"

He stretched one hand out towards the river surface, his voice booming and vibrating: "My Dragon Lance, I abandoned you before. Are you still willing to follow me now? Do you still yearn for the glorious days of the past, the days of battling alongside me? If you wish, if you are willing, I shall grant your desire! I will let you experience battles you've never known before, a fierceness you've never encountered. One man, one spear — slay gods who block the way, slay demons who block the way!"

The river surface exploded, and a dragon's roar thundered. A giant black dragon slowly rose from the depths of the whirlpool. Its body, composed of black bones, slowly swam out of the water, its countless bone joints rattling and vibrating continuously as it rotated and coiled around the blind man's slender body.

The intensely black bones continuously vibrated and clanged, the sound growing louder and louder. Amidst the vibrations, streaks of bloody light burst forth, exuding a terrifyingly powerful aura of overwhelming ferocity.

The blind man clenched his hand tightly. The black bone dragon abruptly contracted its body, bone segments colliding and scattering sparks as it transformed into a black dragon spear in his hand!

"Dragon Lance, you have finally awakened! And I have awakened too!"

The blind man slung the black dragon spear onto his back, his heart filled with immense joy. He walked away without looking back, leaving Disabled Elderly Village. "This village, I will not return to it! Come with me to relive the blood-stained years!"

At Misui Pass, Qin Mu sensed a terrifying aura erupting in the Great Ruins. He looked up for a moment, then retracted his gaze. All sorts of strange phenomena occurred in the Great Ruins, erupting from time to time; this was a common occurrence there.

"I plan to go to the Sun Well. Do you really want to come along?"

Qin Mu looked around, his gaze falling on Ling Yuxiu, Si Yunxiang, and Hu Ling'er. He said, "I'm going to fulfill my promise, and I don't know if the Sun Well will welcome you."

He looked apologetic, saying, "You are different from us. You are people from the outside, while we are outcasts of the Great Ruins."

Hu Ling'er transformed into a small fox and jumped onto Qin Mu's neck, driving away the ink dragon coiled around him. She hung there like a scarf, saying, "I am also an outcast of the Ruins. I will go with Young Master!"

Si Yunxiang said shyly, "A wife follows her husband, come what may. I am already the Cult Master's wife, so naturally, where the Cult Master goes, his wife must follow."

Ling Yuxiu sneered, "The Cult Master's wife also needs to follow a first-come, first-served order, doesn't she?"

Si Yunxiang said with a smile, "Does the former Cult Master's wife have anything to say?"

Ling Yuxiu feigned anger, then suddenly chuckled. "I won't argue about this with you. If I don't go, I don't go. Grandpa Blind kidnapped me; my father must be worried sick. I should go back soon to report my safety. This marriage ceremony was just Grandpa Blind's obsession; it doesn't count. If Saintess Xiang takes it seriously, then you can be the Cult Master's wife. By the way, cowherd, what promise are you going to fulfill?"

"I have an agreement with the Sun Guardian to help her relight the extinguished suns on the Sun Ship."

Qin Mu stroked the head of the small fox on his neck and said, "After I obtained the Sun Jade Eye, I've been traveling around and haven't had time to keep the appointment. The longer I delay, the more her life force is consumed. Since I'm here at Misui Pass now, I might as well go to the Sun Well. Perhaps I can help her resolve her predicament."

Misui Pass is very close to the Star Constellation Sea, allowing travel from there to the Sun Well. Qin Mu truly wished to see the Sun Guardian again, wondering if her legs had been swallowed by the Sun Ship.

Ling Yuxiu and Si Yunxiang had not heard of the Star Constellation Sea or the Sun Well. However, Ling Yuxiu had seen the Sun Ship, so she feigned nonchalance and said, "Last time the Sun Ship came to Xianglong City, I missed it and didn't get to see this Sun Guardian. By the way, I still don't know if this Sun Guardian is a man or a woman?"

"A girl named Yan Jingjing."

Qin Mu said honestly, "Around your age."

Ling Yuxiu smiled gently and said, "Since she's around our age, we'll certainly get along well. I'll also go and meet her, and get to know this Sister Yan."

Si Yunxiang's eyes darted around as she laughed, "I was foolishly captured by Grandpa Blind and forced into a marriage ceremony, yet the Cult Master shows no tender affection. Since we're already here, it would be good to meet the Sun Guardian and broaden our horizons."

Qin Mu nodded and said, "The Sun Guardians hold an extremely high status. They are divine beings, higher in status than us outcasts of the Great Ruins."

"Divine beings?" The two women gasped in astonishment.

Qin Mu summoned a flood dragon, which immediately changed its size and revealed its true form. Qin Mu brought them onto the dragon's back. Dragon Qilin also tried to jump on, but Qin Mu gently kicked him down, saying, "Fatty Dragon, you still need to exercise more. Ling'er, you supervise him."

Hu Ling'er promptly agreed.

Dragon Qilin blinked, then looked at Qin Mu's gentle, spring-breeze-like smile and couldn't help but shiver. He cried out, "Cult Master, I won't be picky about food anymore!"

"Not picky about food anymore?"

Qin Mu said pleasantly, "Then why are you still hiding Fire Element Divine Energy Pills in your cheek pouches without eating them?"

Dragon Qilin was startled and blurted out, "How did you know I hid the Fire Element Divine Energy Pills in my cheeks?"

Qin Mu took out a mirror and said sorrowfully, "Look in the mirror yourself! Of all places to hide them, you hid them in your cheeks, and so many of them!"

Dragon Qilin quickly looked into the mirror, seeing his cheeks bulging as if he had stuffed two large balls into his mouth.
