The river was shrouded in chaos and vastness. Ten Celestial Venerables, including Consort Qiang, had astonishingly cut down Dao Trees and were now using them as boats to cross the river.
The Dao Trees in Jade Capital City belonged to enlightened beings who had survived the Great Cataclysm of Destruction; yet, the Ten Celestial Venerables had now cut them down to serve as ferries.
Even Qin Mu had to commend the Ten Celestial Venerables for their audacity and ingenious idea. As the most powerful beings in the current universe, they each possessed their own grand demeanor and ambition, often performing deeds that others found unbelievable.
For example, God Emperor Lang Xuan had forcibly seized the Dao Fruit of a prehistoric enlightened being, displaying an extraordinary demeanor.
Thus, such actions by the Ten Celestial Venerables were not entirely unexpected.
Qin Mu gazed into the distance, observing Dao Trees appearing and disappearing within the chaotic mist. From time to time, enormous skeletons slowly rose from the chaotic river, attempting to drag the Ten Celestial Venerables, who were crossing on the Dao Trees, into the water.
Each of the ten Celestial Venerables employed their unique abilities to repel these powerful entities.
This chaotic river proved far more perilous than Qin Mu had anticipated; even the Ten Celestial Venerables found themselves in precarious situations.
The Ten Celestial Venerables had been in Jade Capital City for two years, and it had taken them that long to reach this location. The perils they faced along the way were considerable, yet during this time, their cultivation and strength had advanced by leaps and bounds, clearly indicating they had gained significant advantages within Jade Capital City.
Qin Mu, in contrast, had only taken just over a month to arrive. This was largely because the Ten Celestial Venerables had scouted the path ahead and cleared it of dangers, allowing him to travel so quickly.
As pioneers, the Ten Celestial Venerables had faced significantly more dangers here than he had.
Their greater sacrifices naturally led to greater rewards and a corresponding increase in power.
Qin Mu pondered for a moment, then took out the Grand Primordium staff. He tossed it into the air, and it fell into the river, continuously extending until it reached a length of three *zhang* before stopping its transformation.
The staff had transformed into a small skiff with an upturned bow.
He stepped onto the skiff's bow, and the small vessel began to glide forward.
This small boat was considerably faster than the Dao Trees used by the Ten Celestial Venerables. It was, after all, a treasure refined by Grand Primordium from the World Tree, making it far more formidable than any Dao Tree.
Standing at the bow, Qin Mu looked forward and saw towering, shadowy figures slowly rising from the river within the chaotic mist, blocking the path of his small boat.
From within the chaotic mist, the shadowy figure posed a peculiar question in the Dao language.
It asked Qin Mu why he was preventing it from coming ashore.
Qin Mu placed his hand on his sword hilt and replied, also using the Dao language. He informed the shadow that this universe was not theirs and that their arrival would cause it to collapse and be utterly destroyed.
Suddenly, the shadow became agitated, extending a massive, mountain-like head from the chaotic mist. It pushed aside the mist, appearing directly in front of the small boat!
Qin Mu looked up at the skull, which was nothing but bone. Unlike a human skull, it was irregularly shaped and bristled with sharp bone spurs.
What was remarkable was that this being's entire body was composed of Dao bones, its skeletal structure seemingly forged by the Great Dao itself, making it incredibly powerful and thus immortal and indestructible even during the Cataclysm of Destruction.
The path it cultivated was clearly different, somewhat resembling the method God Emperor Lang Xuan had described: imprinting the ultimate void with one's physical body.
God Emperor Lang Xuan had not yet achieved this, but this being already had!
The skeletal head opened its massive mouth and roared furiously at Qin Mu. Its words, in essence, were a furious accusation of Qin Mu's selfishness, for standing idly by while the people of its universe perished and refusing to accept them as refugees.
It claimed the moral high ground, using the demise of its universe's populace to rebuke Qin Mu and undermine his Dao heart.
While mere words lacked offensive power, when combined with the Dao language, they truly struck at the spirit and heart.
Qin Mu drew his sword. The moment it left its sheath, the sword light instantly severed the skeletal head's neck, its brilliant gleam piercing through the dense chaotic mist!
"Are we to invite you here to become our masters?" Qin Mu retorted. "After you land, you will enslave us, make us toil diligently while you enjoy yourselves, until this universe is destroyed, then you'll abandon us and flee to the next one."
With a peculiar gaze, Qin Mu lifted his foot and stomped down hard, sinking the withered skeleton deep into the chaotic river. His Dao language boomed and vibrated, directly confronting the opponent's Dao language: "You are no different from the Ten Celestial Venerables, and even worse in your wickedness! You are inferior to them!"
The skull plummeted into the chaotic river. Immediately, the headless body swam over, retrieved its skull, and placed it back on its neck.
Qin Mu sheathed his sword, glanced at the chaotic river, and allowed his small boat to continue forward. The withered skeleton, however, swam persistently in the chaotic river, closely following the boat.
Qin Mu raised an eyebrow as his divine treasure domain began to unfurl.
His hand gripped the sword hilt tightly, poised to strike.
In the chaotic river, the skeletal divine being swam, its enormous shadow appearing beneath the small boat and moving in tandem with it.
Simultaneously, massive shadows emerged around the small boat. Some were Dao Trees from the chaos, while others were souls residing in fragments of the Great Luo Heavens.
Qin Mu sneered, activating the Three-Pillars Tyrannical Body Technique to its absolute maximum.
His grip grew steadily firmer, and the power of the Calamity Sword in his hand became increasingly contained. Behind him, the towering World Tree, rooted in the ancestral land, simultaneously drew chaotic energy from the chaotic river below.
*Boom—*
The chaotic river exploded open as two enormous hands emerged from the water, one on each side. They seized the small boat, attempting to drag it into the depths of the chaos!
A sword hum resonated, followed by an incredibly bright flash of sword light. Severed fingers flew into the air.
Qin Mu wielded his sword, which seemed to acknowledge him with a nod. He held the sword hilt inverted, as if bowing deeply, and the ten fingers *crackled*, exploding into chaos!
Behind the small boat, the surface of the chaotic river burst open, and a colossal skeletal body surged skyward. From its mouth, a weighty Dao language echoed, as if chanting, poised to unleash an earth-shattering divine ability!
However, the instant the skeletal divine being opened its mouth, Qin Mu's inverted Calamity Sword thrust backward like lightning, its brilliant light piercing directly into the being's mouth!
The back of the skeletal divine being's head exploded. Qin Mu lifted his sword, and the being's head was severed into two halves with a single strike!
The bones fell into the water, and the chaotic river began to boil. A Dao Tree lifted the small boat, suspending it above the river. Chilling winds howled as souls residing in fragments of the Great Luo Heavens surged out of the river, rushing towards the boat!
More Dao Fruits flew up from the river. As they spun, Dao patterns intertwined and Dao chains crisscrossed, locking down the small boat!
Qin Mu unleashed his sword Dao. The Calamity Sword, moving like light and electricity, crisscrossed through the air, severing every soul and splitting open the Dao Fruits. He then threw the Calamity Sword, and its light whirled around the Dao Tree below, severing it!
"The Dragon Han era brought forth tumultuous storms, a vast calamity quelling the great river!"
Invigorated by the battle, he raised his hand, and the Calamity Sword flew back into his grasp. With swift, *swishing* movements, he thrust the sword forward.
The skeletal divine being, having just reassembled its body, rose from the water, only to be immediately enveloped by countless intertwining sword lights. It froze in astonishment as its bones suddenly snapped and collapsed. Within the Dao bones forming its body, Dao chains were severed, transforming into Dao patterns, which were then further severed, becoming Great Dao runes!
Amidst the sword light, even the Great Dao runes were disintegrated and shattered, utterly perishing.
The skeletal divine being cried out, collapsing on the river surface, utterly shattered and vanishing without a trace!
Qin Mu swung his sword, sheathing the Calamity Sword, and stood upright at the bow of the small boat.
Behind him, layers of Dao realms, like successive heavens, unfolded, forming twenty-nine layers of heavens.
Sword light intertwined above the twenty-ninth layer of heavens, currently forming the thirtieth layer.
All around, the Dao Trees in the chaotic mist faded, disappearing into its depths.
The wandering souls from the Great Luo Heaven fragments departed, submerging into the chaotic river, and the spinning Dao Fruits also vanished one after another.
"This move is called 'Breaking Calamity'."
Qin Mu lifted his right leg, resting his foot on the upturned bow of the small boat formed from the staff. Ignoring the strange phenomena around him, he looked straight ahead.
This single "Breaking Calamity" sword strike truly suppressed the great river and the chaotic long river, causing the strange entities that had tried to drag him into the water and come ashore themselves to cease all actions against his small boat.
The "Breaking Calamity" sword targets the very composition of the Great Dao, reversing the steps of its formation. It deconstructs the Great Dao, breaking it down from its domain into Dao chains, then from Dao chains into Dao patterns, from Dao patterns into Great Dao runes, and finally annihilating the Great Dao runes themselves!
Other practitioners, such as the Ten Celestial Venerables, typically dealt with these strange entities in the chaotic river by using their raw power to force them back into the water. While this inflicted damage, it was not fatal.
However, once Qin Mu's "Breaking Calamity" sword was perfected, it could dismantle an opponent's Great Dao, threatening their very existence. Consequently, the entities within the chaotic river were unwilling to provoke him further.
Behind Qin Mu, the thirtieth layer of heavens, representing the thirtieth heaven Dao realm, completed its formation. With this realm complete, his Great Dao was imprinted within the Calamity Sword, further enhancing its power.
"Grandpa Mute has truly refined this sword to be miraculous," Qin Mu murmured. He couldn't help but praise, recalling that when he was rushing here, Mute was still comprehending the Dao in the ancestral land of Dao fire. He mused that this refining of the Calamity Sword would surely bring another astonishing improvement to Mute's forging Dao!
The world's foremost craftsman, he truly lived up to his reputation!
Without the strange entities in the chaotic river, the dugout canoe formed from the staff sped forward, gradually venturing deeper into the vast chaotic river.
The chaotic river's width was unknown; it seemed as if one could never reach the other side. Gradually, Qin Mu sensed fluctuations of divine abilities coming from ahead, and his heart stirred. His vertical eye in his forehead gazed forward.
Suddenly, two saber lights silently swept in. Qin Mu lowered his head as the two saber lights intersected above him. Though they didn't directly strike him, they left a saber mark on his neck, from which blood began to flow.
After the two saber lights swept past, they vanished into the chaotic mist.
Qin Mu looked up, drew the Calamity Sword, and thrust it forward!
As his sword thrust forth, the chaotic mist was disturbed, and the sword light vanished within it. Suddenly, a pleasant-sounding scream came from ahead: "Emperor Kai Qin Ye? Did you ambush me?"
"It's not Emperor Kai," Qin Mu replied. Qin Mu clarified, "Grand Emperor, do you also refer to yourself as 'this palace'?"
The voice ahead fell silent for a moment before Consort Qiang's voice emerged, chuckling. "So it's Heavenly Venerable Mu. You've grown quite skilled, young man. That sword strike actually caught me off guard and injured me."
*Whoosh—*
A Dao Tree, its roots swaying, appeared before Qin Mu. It waved its roots on the surface of the chaotic river, moving across the water like an octopus.
Consort Qiang stood on the withered Dao Tree. Beside her hung a tattered Dao Fruit, and inside it, a woman peered out at Qin Mu through a ragged hole.
