Chapter 1230: Bloodshed in Wuwang City

Hu Mengdie and her companions formed a circle, constantly moving their feet, watching each other while also preparing to fend off external enemies as they advanced toward the edge of this eerie world.

There, at the source of bursting rainbow light, countless Qin Mus continuously flew out, discarding their corpses into this world.

Even with their immense divine powers, the sight made their skin crawl. They had no idea what was happening or what Celestial Venerable Mu was doing.

The Qin Mus transporting the corpses seemed to be oblivious to their presence, allowing them to pass freely through the world.

Hu Mengdie attempted to slay a few Qin Mus, but upon their demise, they swiftly crumbled into dry bones.

"These are not his true bodies."

They finally reached the world's edge, discovering a portal through which countless Qin Mus ceaselessly passed, bringing numerous corpses from beyond.

Exchanging glances, they stepped through the portal.

Hu Mengdie was startled. They had arrived at the entrance to another world, a bustling place teeming with billions of people, where buildings, pavilions, and cities stretched as far as the eye could see.

As they approached a city, they were horrified to discover that its inhabitants were all Qin Mus!

Suddenly, all the Qin Mus simultaneously turned their heads, their gazes unsettling.

Their scalps prickling, they bravely continued forward under the stares of countless Qin Mus.

Just then, a god’s face contorted grotesquely, as if two faces were violently shifting, before rapidly transforming into Qin Mu's.

Without a moment's hesitation, Hu Mengdie struck down the god, yelling, "Run!"

The other gods hastily followed her, soaring toward the distant edge of the world, while below, countless Qin Mus launched themselves into the air, attacking them.

Hu Mengdie and her companions swiftly defended themselves, fighting their way through the throng. In the sky, streaks of rainbow light flashed and hummed.

Suddenly, another god's appearance changed, transforming into Qin Mu, and relentlessly attacked them.

Hu Mengdie and her group were injured by this powerful Numinous Sky Realm expert, but they managed to kill him and escape this maddening world.

They arrived in the third world, still shaken, only to see figures flailing and plummeting from the sky.

Hu Mengdie looked up to see black tornadoes outside the sky, from which "starved ghosts" were falling. These starved ghosts were dark soul dust, formed from shattered souls and born of concentrated resentment and malevolence.

What was eerie, however, was that these starved ghosts had inexplicably fallen into this world, and as they descended, their faces grotesquely shifted, countless visages struggling beneath their skin.

*Thud, thud, thud.*

One by one, the starved ghosts crashed violently onto the ground before them. They struggled to rise, but quickly regenerated flesh and blood, acquiring physical bodies.

When the starved ghosts lifted their heads, their faces had transformed into Qin Mu's, and they stared with unsettling gazes.

The dark soul dust within these starved ghosts also underwent a bizarre transformation, becoming complete three souls and seven spirits, along with a primordial spirit. However, each individual soul bore Qin Mu's likeness.

This world was a nightmare. Hu Mengdie and her companions cried out, frantically flying forward, desperate to escape.

Yet another god was assimilated by this bizarre world and turned against them.

By the time Hu Mengdie finally escaped this world, she was alone. All the powerful experts she had brought had inexplicably transformed into Qin Mus and perished along the way, leaving only her unassimilated.

As she traversed world after world, her fear subsided, replaced by a growing murderous intent. "My cultivation is too powerful," she thought. "Celestial Venerable Mu cannot assimilate me! He has exhausted all his tricks!"

She had lost count of how many worlds she had traversed. Finally, bursting out of the last one, she suddenly found herself in the outside world.

Hu Mengdie looked ahead and saw Qin Mu seated before her, his back to her.

Behind Qin Mu, layers of dream worlds interlocked, like concentric circles, countless in number. Halos of light continuously flowed from the top of these worlds, descending to their bottoms, then cycling back up in an endless loop.

She realized that she had been continuously traversing Qin Mu's dream worlds.

Hu Mengdie's killing intent surged, but she dared not attack Qin Mu from behind, fearing she would once again be trapped in his dream world.

She stealthily shifted her feet, attempting to circle around to Qin Mu's front.

At that moment, Qin Mu suddenly awoke, opening his eyes and smiling at her.

"Celestial Venerable Mu," she uttered.

Hu Mengdie gritted her teeth. Her Celestial Palace manifested behind her, her primordial spirit standing before the Numinous Sky Hall, having already reached its exterior.

Deities who cultivate to the Numinous Sky Realm must continuously ascend the steps leading to the Numinous Sky Hall. Each step forward demands enduring unparalleled imperial might. Only beings of exceptional talent can climb those steps and reach the hall's entrance.

She was just such a being!

Qin Mu stood up, smiling faintly. "We meet again," he said. "Do you remember who you are?"

Hu Mengdie froze, then opened her mouth to say, "Of course I am..."

Her mind suddenly went blank. She couldn't remember who she was or why she was there!

Hu Mengdie shook her head, a profound fear swelling within her. "Who am I?" she wondered.

Qin Mu chuckled. "Do you still remember who I am?"

"You are Celestial Venerable Mu!"

Hu Mengdie's eyes widened. As the words left her lips, her memories of Celestial Venerable Mu also began to fade.

Panic surged within her. Suddenly, she bit the tip of her tongue, then reached out and pulled forth an incredibly thick wooden stake, slamming it into the ground with a resounding thud. "City of No Misfortune!" she roared.

As the stake was plunged into the earth, a clanging resonance emanated from within the wood. Its annual rings began to bloom outward, expanding progressively, until they separated, revealing layer after layer of buildings!

Hu Mengdie channeled her magical power, activating the divine weapon's might. The wooden stake swiftly transformed into an incredibly magnificent divine city, spanning thousands of miles.

The wooden houses within it were arranged in concentric circles, forming intricate patterns across 365 inner layers. Complex runes were emblazoned upon the houses, and now, all of them illuminated.

The City of No Misfortune was forged by her from a particularly stout branch of primordial wood. After Earth Mother Primordial Sovereign was slain, Celestial Venerable Xiao seized the primordial wood. Heavenly Son Yin then acquired some branches from Celestial Venerable Xiao.

Recognizing Hu Mengdie's exceptionally high aptitude and talent, Heavenly Son Yin cut a section of the wood and gifted it to her. Hu Mengdie then refined this piece into a weapon, forging the powerful artifact known as the City of No Misfortune.

The houses within the City of No Misfortune were wooden structures she had carved onto the annual rings, each emblazoned with the grand dao patterns of the Netherworld, endowing them with immense power.

To this day, Hu Mengdie had yet to find any treasure superior to the primordial wood. Thus, she intended for the City of No Misfortune to serve as her divine weapon on her path to becoming an Emperor and achieving Dao.

At this moment, she stood at the heart of the City of No Misfortune. The city’s power erupted, and the great dao runes emblazoned on the 365 inner rings of wooden houses illuminated, countless runes reflecting onto her body.

Hu Mengdie's magical power surged. She unleashed a palm strike, and Qin Mu shattered instantly!

No sooner had Qin Mu shattered than the entire Grand Void Netherworld began to break apart. Soon, this realm completely disintegrated.

Hu Mengdie looked around in confusion. The shattered Grand Void Netherworld merely revealed another Grand Void Netherworld beneath it. She realized she had unconsciously fallen into a trap; the Qin Mu she had just encountered must have been a mere dream manifestation, not his true form.

"I'm still in his dream! City of No Misfortune!"

She activated the City of No Misfortune once more, and with another earth-shattering roar, this dream shattered as well.

She activated the City of No Misfortune repeatedly, shattering dream after dream, until she was soon breathless and exhausted.

Finally, the last dream shattered. Hu Mengdie’s body swayed, and she looked up to see Qin Mu standing before her.

"You finally emerged, Black Emperor's disciple. You are indeed not weak," Qin Mu said.

A flash of sword light streaked forth, piercing directly through Hu Mengdie's glabella.
