He mustered his last ounce of strength to reach the tree, holding a large piece of eggshell high in his hands. Divine light soared from the shell, illuminating the divine tree in a dazzling array of colors.

The moment he reached the tree, the world around him suddenly dimmed, as if he had crossed from one universe into another.

Qin Mu breathed a sigh of relief, knowing he had returned to Great Black Mountain. His legs gave out, and he stumbled forward for hundreds of miles before finally managing to stop.

Suddenly, he felt his hands lighten. He quickly looked up to see that the half-shell was empty, containing only some viscous egg fluid. The ancient god that had been within had vanished!

Qin Mu held the massive eggshell and its contents, his heart pounding. He quickly looked around, but there was no sign of the ancient god.

"Did this ancient god remain in the previous universe, or did it escape with me as I returned?"

Qin Mu composed himself, though a subtle unease gnawed at him.

If the ancient god had remained in the previous universe, it would surely have perished along with that universe, its Dao extinguished.

However, if it had escaped with him, it would undoubtedly resent him for nearly leading it to its demise. Moreover, having been forced out of the egg before full maturity, its cultivation and strength would be significantly inferior to a mature form.
