Chapter 1059: Ancient God and the Golden Coffin

"How can such a terrifying creature exist?" Qin Mu involuntarily shivered. It was only then that he noticed the Void Beast had fleshy membranes between its four forelegs, indicating it could fly!

When its membranes spread, it could probably soar through the sky like a bat!

An ancient beast that could fly, traverse the void, and devour anything – it was a miracle that the Creators hadn't been completely consumed by such a monster!

"Could it be that the prehistoric Creators could control such powerful lifeforms with their divine sense?" Qin Mu wondered, feeling a flicker of doubt.

Luo Xiao was inexplicably excited. He flew forward, stroking the Void Beast's incredibly rough skin, barely containing his emotion. He stammered, "A Void Beast! This is the Void Beast our ancestors spoke of, the one rumored to be subdued only by the mightiest warriors of each tribe. I can't believe I've managed to subdue one myself..."

Qin Mu scrutinized the Void Beast, observing numerous swirling patterns on its skin, which he presumed to be void markings.

A thought sparked in his mind: "If I could thoroughly study the void markings on this Void Beast, I might be able to compile a set of void runes, establish a new system of void divine arts. Perhaps even create an entirely new Great Dao..."

His eyes gleaming, he pulled out a mirror and flew around the Void Beast, scanning it with the reflection.

Suddenly, Yan'er's cry of alarm rang out: "Young Master, look around!"

Qin Mu looked around, startled. The Ancestral Court's ground was cracking open, revealing several enormous eyeballs.

These eyeballs varied in size; some even appeared to be growing out of mountains!

Even the smallest eyeballs were tens of zhang in circumference.

More massive eyeballs emerged from the earth, appearing like bamboo shoots after rain. Each large eyeball blinked, looking towards them with excitement.

What's more, he saw colossal eyeballs "growing" in the sky, popping into existence. Soon, the sky was filled with more and more eyeballs, enough to seemingly cover the entire Ancestral Court's firmament.

Qin Mu was horrified. Forgetting to scan the void markings on the Void Beast Luo Xiao had captured, he hurriedly flew back to the altar, exclaiming urgently, "Most likely, there are no other creatures left in the Ancestral Court. They've all been devoured by the Void Beasts. This place is not safe to stay. We must return immediately!"

Luo Xiao quickly said, "I still need to contact the ancestors of the Ancestral Court. Wait a moment!"

Great Hong smiled faintly and said, "Brother Mu, aren't you curious about that Primordial Divine Stone mine in the Ancestral Court? I'd like to go see it. I heard the Heavenly Emperor was born from an egg excavated from that very mine. Brother Gu Xiao, aren't you curious?"

Qin Mu glanced at him.

Gu Xiao calmly replied, "I've heard that the Primordial Stone of the Grand Emperor also originated from that mine. Naturally, I am very curious. A visit there would certainly make this trip worthwhile."

The two stood on opposite sides of the altar, their gazes meeting.

Cold sweat beaded on Qin Mu's forehead. He backed away, transmitting a message with his divine sense: "Yan'er, be ready to extinguish the lamp at any moment!"

Yan'er quickly took down the lantern hanging from the treasure carriage and flew to Qin Mu's shoulder, whispering in his ear, "Young Master, the sky is bright. If we extinguish the lamp, I'm afraid we won't be able to return to the ghost ship."

Qin Mu's divine sense fluctuated: "I was once the Ghost City God-Son and the Little Earth Count; I have ways to make the sky dark. The moment they make a move, extinguish the lamp immediately!"

If Great Hong and Gu Xiao were to fight, the danger would likely surpass that posed by the Void Beasts!

He felt a pang of worry. The Ancestral Court was clearly a place sealed jointly by the ancient gods, utilizing the reverse sides of worlds like Ghost City, Profound Metropolis, Primordial Metropolis, the Celestial Court, the Ruins, and the Four Extremes Heavens. Such a seal was incredibly powerful.

He genuinely had no idea if extinguishing the lamp in the Ancestral Court would allow them to return to the ghost ship.

Great Hong and Gu Xiao stood facing each other. One had his hands tucked into his sleeves, the other was filing his nails with a small file. Both wore smiles that felt as gentle as a spring breeze.

"Roar––"

The world violently shook. Enormous Void Beasts slowly drifted out of the ground, passed through mountains, or materialized from the sky.

These impossibly colossal creatures seemed to lack true physical forms, capable of passing through anything!

More cold sweat trickled down Qin Mu's forehead. He said in a deep voice, "Luo Xiao, have you made contact with your ancestors' divine senses? If you have, we must leave immediately!"

Luo Xiao's divine sense pierced through the layers of void in the Ancestral Court, searching for his ancestors' divine senses. A bewildered expression appeared on his face as he murmured, "No divine senses... there are no divine senses here at all..."

He suddenly became incredibly dejected, chuckling wryly, "Brother Mu, there are no divine senses of the Creator ancestors in the Ancestral Court. I can't find them. Their divine senses have most likely been devoured by the Void Beasts. How am I supposed to explain this to the clan elders..."

He slumped to the ground, disoriented, his guiding belief system crumbling around him.

The concept of a 'Dao Heart' didn't exist during the Creator era; it only emerged after the establishment of the Divine Treasury and Celestial Palace systems. His mental cultivation was poor, far inferior to Qin Mu's and the others'.

More Void Beasts appeared. The Void Beasts in the sky had already begun to unfurl their massive membranes, which vibrated as they flew down from the sky towards them!

Qin Mu suddenly roared, "If I die, no one will be able to leave the Ancestral Court!"

Gu Xiao and Great Hong, standing on the altar, averted their gazes from each other. Gu Xiao stretched his body and chuckled, "Since we both intend to visit that mine, why don't we go together? What do you think, Brother Hong?"

Great Hong chuckled, "I was just thinking the same."

Qin Mu grabbed Luo Xiao and shouted, "Your ancestors' spirits are most likely hidden in a higher void, where Void Beasts cannot reach. Stop wallowing in self-pity! Control your Void Beast and take us out of here!"

On the ground, countless Void Beasts surged towards them like a tide; the giants had already formed an encirclement!

Luo Xiao's spirits lifted: "That's right! My ancestors' spirits are far more powerful than mine; they must have entrusted their divine senses to a higher void! It must be!"

Qin Mu's magic power surged, sweeping up the altar. It whistled into the air and landed on the head of the Void Beast Luo Xiao had subdued, getting wedged in its bony ridges.

Luo Xiao immediately focused on controlling the Void Beast, making it gallop furiously. Its six legs churned, its speed increasing rapidly. Suddenly, it leapt into the void, just before the other Void Beasts could pounce on it!

The surrounding space instantly became bizarre and colorful. Qin Mu and the others on the altar gradually turned translucent. Qin Mu raised his palm and could see his own veins and muscle fibers through his skin.

Among everyone present, only Gu Xiao's and Great Hong's physical bodies showed no change whatsoever.

The Void Beast leapt into the first layer of void, evading the attacks of other Void Beasts. Just then, a sharp claw suddenly appeared from the void, sweeping towards the Void Beast and the people on the altar!

The Void Beast's sharp claw gleamed with a cold light typically seen only on divine weapons. Where the claw passed, even the first layer of void was torn open.

Luo Xiao hastily maneuvered the Void Beast to dodge. The colossal claw swept over their heads, leaving behind streaks of severed void cracks.

More Void Beast claws appeared in the void, wildly grabbing in all directions. Luo Xiao, controlling this ancient beast for the first time, couldn't evade them all. The Void Beast let out a piercing shriek, suffering numerous injuries.

*Whoosh*––

One by one, Void Beasts plunged into this first layer of void, their large eyes showing excitement as they lunged at them.

As they lunged, their eyelids rose, and their enormous mouths opened, consuming most of their heads, while their pupils were squeezed into a single line.

Luo Xiao quickly maneuvered the Void Beast. It suddenly shrank its body, escaping the encirclement of numerous Void Beasts, and then leapt again, jumping into the second void.

In the second layer of void, everyone could now see their own skeletons. They resembled transparent shrimp in the ocean, their internal organs clearly visible.

However, many Void Beasts flew in pursuit, also entering the second void.

These Void Beasts could change their size, expanding or contracting, making them incredibly agile.

Qin Mu's divine sense bloomed, surging into the brow of the closest Void Beast, attempting to control it.

Although the giant beast had shrunk, it was still enormous. Upon being invaded by Qin Mu's divine sense, it immediately let out a piercing shriek.

Qin Mu's mind suddenly reeled. The Void Beast's cry could penetrate his divine sense, disrupting his thoughts and catching him off guard.

This wasn't a true vocalization but rather the Void Beast's divine sense transforming into sharp spikes upon sensing danger, piercing the opponent's divine sense to disrupt their actions.

Evidently, the Void Beasts had learned a few tricks during their battles with the Creator race.

"Great Luo Supreme Divine Sense!"

Qin Mu's divine sense shifted, transforming into layer upon layer of firmament, blocking the Void Beast's cries. Then, the Great Luo Supreme Divine Sense imprinted itself upon the Void Beast's mind.

That Void Beast was incredibly formidable; it actually used its cries to forcefully resist his Great Luo Supreme Divine Sense. It even displayed both offensive and defensive tactics, executing them skillfully, preventing Qin Mu from overcoming its divine sense in a short time.

"My divine sense attainment is similar to Luo Xiao's; even if he's stronger than me, it's not by much. I acquired the Grand Emperor's Great Luo Supreme Divine Sense, and my divine sense abilities far surpass his, so how did he subdue that Void Beast so quickly?"

A chilling sensation crept over Qin Mu. Luo Xiao's speed in subduing the Void Beast was too fast. Could it be that the one who subdued it wasn't Luo Xiao, but someone else entirely?

Luo Xiao continuously maneuvered the Void Beast, leaping into the third, fourth, and fifth voids.

By the sixth void, everyone could essentially only see their own primordial spirits; their physical bodies were no longer visible.

The only difference was that Qin Mu's vertical eye in his forehead had not been assimilated by the void; it still floated before his primordial spirit.

Naturally, Gu Xiao's and Great Hong's physical bodies remained completely unchanged.

"Gu Xiao and Great Hong are indeed the Heavenly Emperor and the Grand Emperor!" Qin Mu realized, a chill running down his spine.

Behind them, countless Void Beasts were still in hot pursuit. Some younger Void Beasts, unable to penetrate deeper into the void, were stopped at the fifth void.

Qin Mu was still attempting to control that Void Beast, but it continued to resist his Great Luo divine sense with its sharp shrieks.

Qin Mu raised an eyebrow. "The one controlling the Void Beast is definitely not Luo Xiao, but the Grand Emperor!"

A subtle unease stirred in Luo Xiao's heart, and he cried out, "If we go any deeper into the void, our physical bodies and primordial spirits will be assimilated!"

The Void Beast leapt into the seventh void. Qin Mu, Yan'er, and the others on the altar immediately felt the void assimilating their primordial spirits and physical bodies. The only thing that could resist this assimilation was divine sense!

Qin Mu continued to use his divine sense to contend with the Void Beast, attempting to control it. He also felt his physical body and primordial spirit being void-ified, but fortunately, the void-ification in the sixth void wasn't too intense, and he could still endure it.

That Void Beast was already struggling to resist his Great Luo Supreme Divine Sense and was about to be controlled by him.

Luo Xiao controlled the Void Beast as it leapt into the seventh void, with many other Void Beasts following in pursuit. Everyone's physical bodies were beginning to struggle.

At this moment, Qin Mu finally gained control of that Void Beast. He sharply withdrew his divine sense, using it to envelop Dragon Qilin, Yan'er, and the six celestial dragons.

Dragon Qilin, Yan'er, and the others felt a significant reduction in pressure.

Luo Xiao continued to control his Void Beast, moving deeper and deeper into the void. Meanwhile, Qin Mu did not make his tamed Void Beast pursue them; instead, he made it emerge from the void.

He used the eyes of this Void Beast to observe the Ancestral Court world. Under his control, the Void Beast journeyed, flying high into the sky, burrowing into the earth, and diving into the ocean.

He was observing the geography of the Ancestral Court, but the more he saw, the more alarmed Qin Mu became.

The Ancestral Court was devoid of other living beings; every species had been extinguished, leaving behind only countless Void Beasts!

It was incredibly desolate, with no other lifeforms whatsoever – not even a trace of vegetation. Only vast battlefield ruins, abandoned Creator cities, and dilapidated tribes remained, scattered with bones everywhere.

Their group might have been the only living beings to set foot in the Ancestral Court world for countless ages.

Just then, through the Void Beast's eyes, Qin Mu spotted a hint of green.

It was a continuous ore vein stretching for thousands of miles, filled with grass, trees, and flowers, yet it was permeated with strange, colorful hues of light.

Qin Mu controlled the Void Beast, bringing it to the ore vein. The Void Beast suddenly stopped. No matter how much he urged it, the giant beast refused to step inside.

It was then that Qin Mu noticed countless Void Beast carcasses piled up around the ore vein!

He looked further ahead, witnessing an even more horrifying sight: beneath the plants of the ore vein were countless white bones, each with a Primordial Divine Stone embedded in its forehead!

Qin Mu's heart seized. His gaze delved deeper, and the skeletons of giants appeared before his eyes.

Only the bones of those eight giants remained, imbued with divine light. They stood among the mountains and forests, posed as if striding forward, each carrying a massive golden coffin on their shoulders. It seemed they had died en route to the deepest part of the ore vein!

"Those are... eight ancient gods!"

Qin Mu was greatly shaken: "Who is buried in the golden coffins?"

Suddenly, he felt his body rapidly being pulled upward – an optical illusion caused by entering a deeper layer of void.

Luo Xiao controlled the Void Beast, leading them into the nineteenth void. Here, Qin Mu found it increasingly difficult to control his own Void Beast. Without his divine sense guiding it, the controlled Void Beast shook its enormous head, looked at the ore vein, and with fear in its eyes, quickly turned and fled, soon disappearing without a trace.
