Chapter 42: One's Own Weakness

Luo Feng, with the Wings of Wu unfurled behind him, strode along the rolling river of blood and witnessed the scene. He had initially intended to employ the "Li Yuan Technique," but seeing Molosa's enormous, gaping maw, he stopped.

"Without the 'Li Yuan Technique', I am indeed much weaker than Molosa," Luo Feng realized as he observed the situation.

"I possess a perfect divine body, and so does he! However, his realm is significantly higher than mine. That single swallow—though seemingly simple—demonstrates a cultivation level close to the Chaos Realm. Under such a surprise attack, the assassin stood no chance."

Luo Feng was well aware of the assassin's strength.

Under the suppression of controlled chaos, he couldn't even touch the assassin with his sabre techniques, whether using his hands or wings.

Yet, when Molosa simply opened his mouth and swallowed, the assassin had no means of escape.

"Furthermore, Molosa's perfect divine body is far more resilient! That assassin could pierce my divine body with a single sword, but once inside Molosa's mouth, Molosa's maw remained completely undamaged."

From that single swallow, Luo Feng gleaned a great deal.

Molosa, who embodies the origin of destruction, grows merely by devouring, and his comprehension of the 'Grand Dao of Destruction Origin' will deepen until he achieves complete mastery. Even Luo Feng, with his exceptional talent, felt the significant gap between them.

"Molosa is a naturally perfect life form, whereas I am a perfect life form achieved through cultivation."

"As a World Beast, he naturally possesses the 'origin of destruction', and his life essence is equivalent to that of the primordial universe. I am comparatively weaker; I must cultivate and comprehend step by step."

"Of course, I am still his master."

Luo Feng smiled.

Molosa reached Luo Feng in just two steps. Seeing his master's smile, he became a little flustered and quickly declared, "Master, I did not disobey your orders; I only employed normal techniques."

"I'm not blaming you," Luo Feng chuckled.

Upon their arrival at the Origin Continent, Luo Feng had issued a strict order: Molosa must not reveal his World Beast identity, even if it meant death. Should his true nature be exposed, attracting the attention of the Origin Continent's truly formidable entities, their fate would be sealed.

Molosa's power was that of normal divine force, and his techniques were also conventional. Luo Feng, therefore, had no reason to reprimand him.

"Is the assassin dead?" Luo Feng inquired.

"He died as soon as I swallowed him into my body," Molosa confirmed with a nod.

Though both possessed perfect divine bodies, Molosa's utilization of his was more complete, and the power he unleashed was consequently more terrifying.

"He was carrying a Karma Communication Token," Molosa suddenly worried. "Could he have transmitted information about my strength before he died?"

"To say you are also an exceptionally powerful Eternal True God?" Luo Feng shook his head. "Don't worry, it's not a significant concern if it's revealed."

Exception ally powerful Eternal True Gods are not uncommon; a few can be found in every major city, and their total number across the entire Origin Continent is vast. Even if the outside world were to learn that both master and servant are formidable Eternal True Gods, it would be considered an insignificant detail.

"I acted extremely fast," Molosa stated. "At that moment, he was desperate to survive and struggling with all his might. The instant I swallowed him, he died; he likely had no time to transmit a message. Here are all his remaining possessions, even the Cosmic Sand."

With a wave of Molosa's hand, a pile of items appeared next to him, including the World Blade he had just used.

His hands had itched this time, and he couldn't resist intervening. Fearing his master's reprimand, Molosa dared not withhold even a single item of the spoils.

"If you need anything while you're with me, just tell me," Luo Feng said, accepting all the treasures without hesitation. After all, Molosa would naturally grow stronger over time; being short on resources wouldn't hinder him. Luo Feng, on the other hand, was the one who truly needed the resources.

Only by becoming powerful enough himself could he properly protect this World Beast on the Origin Continent in the future.

"Then I will enter seclusion; I need to digest this," Molosa stated.

"Understood." With a gesture, Luo Feng brought Molosa into the Star Tower.

Inside a space on the first level of the Star Tower.

Molosa looked at the corpses of Commander Qian Yuchong and Mei Wuqi, two Eternal True Gods, lying before him, and couldn't help but smile. "Master cares about me," he mused. "He deliberately preserved the bodies when slaying these Eternal True Gods."

Given Luo Feng's combat prowess, those bodies would have been annihilated if he hadn't deliberately preserved them.

Luo Feng continued to maintain his miniature universe domain, which enveloped the entire cave mansion. He surveyed the slight damage to the dwelling, and instantly, the scenery within the domain shifted. Rocks and earth coalesced, beginning the restoration of the cave mansion.

"Qing Yan, you can come out now," Luo Feng called.

Qing Yan, a True God, had been cowering in terror inside the small building. Even a slight ripple from such a confrontation would have obliterated him.

Therefore, when Luo Feng activated his miniature universe domain, he was particularly careful to protect Moyu Qing Yan. Naturally, Moyu Qing Yan also did not witness the subsequent combat.

Concealed by the miniature universe domain, Moyu Qing Yan simply couldn't see what Luo Feng didn't wish for him to witness.

"Master," Moyu Qing Yan said, emerging from the small building and looking around. "Master, where is Lord Luosa?" he immediately inquired.

During this period, his master hadn't offered him guidance. However, Lord Luosa frequently instructed him, and Moyu Qing Yan was deeply grateful to Molosa. Now, unable to see Molosa, Moyu Qing Yan began to worry: had Lord Luosa been caught in the crossfire and perished?

"Don't worry, he's in seclusion," Luo Feng reassured him. "The battle is over. You don't need to dwell on it; just focus on your cultivation."

Having said that, Luo Feng flew towards the pavilion atop the high mountain.

"Yes, Master," Moyu Qing Yan respectfully acknowledged. His mind was indeed unsettled, for the experiences of this period had been truly harrowing.

At the Yanfeng Guild Hall.

The grey mist figure and the Yanfeng Guild Master sat opposite each other. Both had surmised that with Luo Feng emerging from seclusion, Ying Cang, who had long been waiting, would most likely make his move.

"There's a result," the grey mist figure said, looking at the message before him. "Ying Cang is dead. He was famously known for his strong self-preservation abilities. This assassination attempt on Luo He not only failed but cost him his life."

"Uncle, are you certain Ying Cang is dead?" the Yanfeng Guild Master asked, somewhat surprised.

Even with his Infinite Divine Body, he wouldn't dare claim he could definitively kill Ying Cang.

Defeating him was easy, but killing him was difficult.

"His karma has completely dissipated," the grey mist figure stated. "His location could be pinpointed via the Karma Communication Token, and at the moment of his death, he was within Lord Luo He's cave mansion."

This was precisely why Luo Feng had always avoided using Karma Communication Tokens; certain powerful factions could utilize them to pinpoint locations.

Without a Karma Communication Token, even if major powers could deduce some vague karmic links to Luo Feng, they would only be able to confirm the existence or non-existence of such links, but not pinpoint his exact location.

"His karma dissipated, and he died within Luo He's cave mansion," the Yanfeng Guild Master nodded. "This Lord Luo He is unfathomable!"

Even he, a descendant of the Emperor Chu lineage from the Yanfeng Ancient Kingdom, possessing an Infinite Divine Body, with exceptionally deep cultivation at the Eternal True God level, and trained in the Origin Continent's most elite legacies, now regarded Luo Feng with some apprehension.

"Lord Luo He either possesses a very high cultivation realm or employs exceptionally powerful killing techniques," the grey mist figure also speculated.

Luo Feng sat alone in the pavilion atop the high mountain, quietly drinking.

As he drank, he reflected on the recent confrontation.

"The strength of the assassin and Molosa both underscored one point," Luo Feng mused: "my weakness in terms of cultivation realm."

Divine body, will, and cultivation realm—these were the three crucial aspects.

His own divine body was a perfect one, undeniably powerful. This constituted his absolute advantage, which was why he was willing to expend vast resources on body refinement to further amplify this strength.

His will was at the peak of the Chaos Master level, an area Luo Feng had never neglected! He dedicated most of his time to cultivating the heart-refining secret technique from the "Li Yuan Technique."

His cultivation realm, however, was comparatively weaker, despite being the most crucial of the three aspects. To advance to the Chaos Master Realm and subsequently to the God King level, one's realm must reach a sufficiently high level.

"After these recent trivial matters are resolved, I need to calm my mind and focus on comprehending the laws of chaos," Luo Feng thought. "However, I fear those five great families will not give up so easily."

"Hmm?"

Having just endured a major battle, Luo Feng was on high alert. He sensed an aura approaching outside his cave mansion. Upon closer inspection, he saw Mo Limeng retract his flying vessel and land directly in front of the cave's entrance.

"Brother Luo He, I am right at the main entrance of your cave mansion," Mo Limeng politely transmitted.

The main gate swung open, and the formation revealed a clear passage.

Mo Limeng flew inside, immediately noticing that the internal topography of the entire cave mansion had changed somewhat, with fewer old structures and several new ones.

Mo Limeng flew to the peak of the high mountain, where he saw Luo Feng sitting and drinking.

"Brother Luo He," Mo Limeng greeted with a smile.

"I just went through a major battle, so I've been repairing this cave mansion," Luo Feng said, sitting on the mountaintop and looking at Mo Limeng with a hint of suspicion. "I had just offended your five great families at the Dream Blossom Tower, and immediately upon returning to my cave, I was targeted by an assassin. Was this assassin dispatched by your five great families?"

Luo Feng still did not know why the assassin had come or who they were.

"No, it was not dispatched by our five great families," Mo Limeng quickly interjected. "The City Lord's Mansion detected incredibly powerful energy fluctuations from Brother Luo He's cave mansion—fluctuations even stronger than when you killed President Blood Python. The five great families were concerned about a misunderstanding, so they sent me to offer an explanation."

"An explanation?" Luo Feng continued to sip his wine, leaving Mo Limeng standing. "Then explain this: the assassin arrived so swiftly and was so formidable. If not sent by you, then who dispatched them?"

"Our five great families are well aware of Brother Luo He's strength," Mo Limeng stated. "Within a short timeframe, it would be impossible to hire anyone in Huyang City who would dare to confront you."

Luo Feng listened intently.

"In my opinion," Mo Limeng continued, "it could be an old enemy of Brother Luo He, or perhaps a powerful individual from outside the city who was drawn by a message President Blood Python sent before his death. In any case, no one within Huyang City should have made such a move."

Luo Feng gazed at him. "Is that the extent of your explanation?"

Mo Limeng offered a small smile. "I believe Brother Luo He already has his own judgment."

"If there's nothing else, you may leave," Luo Feng urged, completely unceremoniously.

The fact that the five great families had condoned Mei Wuqi's massacre of hundreds of millions of citizens made Luo Feng highly displeased with them.

"Brother Luo He, my Moli clan has no intention of making an enemy of you," Mo Limeng stated, shaking his head. "My father, Mo Lixiao, long ago issued an order forbidding any conflict with you, Brother Luo He."

Luo Feng listened.

"But the other families are accustomed to their lofty positions!" Mo Limeng continued, shaking his head. "You publicly killed one of their members; they simply cannot tolerate that. I do, however, have a suggestion: Brother Luo He, would you condescend to assume the role of Deputy Commander of the Huyang Legion? This way, you would be a high-ranking member of Huyang City and also a part of our five great families..."

"You may leave!" Luo Feng's voice was icily dismissive.

Mo Limeng paused, then stood and bowed. "Brother Luo He, you should understand that among the five great families, some are purely focused on enjoyment, while others are dedicated to getting things done. Our Moli clan is one of those that works diligently. We do not wish to be your enemy, but if you refuse to yield even an inch, I can assure you, they will not relent. I am intimately familiar with their disposition."

Luo Feng let out a soft, rather cold chuckle.

Upon seeing that smile, Mo Limeng's heart inexplicably quivered, and he vaguely envisioned a river of blood.

"I will do my best to mediate this matter, and if any special circumstances arise, I will transmit a message to Brother Luo He," Mo Limeng stated, then turned and departed alone.
