Chapter 992: Heavenly Realm News

Inside the crypt, the surrounding walls were carved with numerous Buddha niches, each holding various Buddha statues. Rays of Buddha light shot from them, weaving into a cage that trapped a woman draped in a kasaya in a corner.

Evidently, the woman was barely clothed when she fell.

Black blood flowed from multiple wounds on her body, and she groaned in pain. The area was filled with shattered rocks blasted from an explosion. She was also injured. Jiang Fan observed that this seal didn't seem to be protecting her; rather, it appeared to be preventing her escape.

"She probably doesn't understand human language, does she?" Looking at the small horns hidden within her thick black hair, Jiang Fan deduced her identity: a creature from the Underworld. Her specific race, however, was unknown.

Bai Xin shook her head slightly. "I don't know," she said. "She neither speaks nor reacts to anything we say."

So, she didn't understand. Jiang Fan thought for a moment, then opened his mouth and greeted her enthusiastically in the Underworld language: "You are a dumbass."

He had no choice; that was the only phrase he had learned from Hua Xin.

The woman, who had been groaning in the corner, suddenly lifted her head, revealing a beautiful but haggard face. Her eyes widened in surprise, and she responded with unusual excitement, even replying three times in a row: "You are a dumbass!" "You are a dumbass!" "You are a dumbass!"

Jiang Fan's mouth twitched.

A look of surprise appeared on Bai Xin's face. "She actually spoke!" Tong Fei, equally incredulous, demanded, "How did you do that?" Even the Dharma Seal Vajra found it incredible. "The abbot couldn't even get through to her. Benefactor Jiang truly is surprising!" Huang Ying gasped in surprise, muttering, "This kid really is a prodigy! What did you just say? It sounded like the same phrase."

What could Jiang Fan say? Could he admit it was an insult? Without batting an eye, he said, "It's a common greeting in the Underworld. It's equivalent to our 'hello'."

Tong Fei's eyes darted. He immediately stepped forward and, smiling, said in the Underworld language, "You are a dumbass." In response, the woman angrily spat at him. Tong Fei quickly dodged, but the spit still landed on his brand-new robe. Even a fool would know it wasn't a greeting, but an insult! He glared at Jiang Fan, fuming. "Kid, what trick are you playing?"

Jiang Fan shrugged. "I'm a human. How high do you expect my proficiency in the Underworld language to be?" Huang Ying covered her mouth, barely suppressing a laugh. Tong Fei had tried to steal credit, but only earned himself a mouthful of spit.

Bai Xin said, "So, it will be difficult for you to communicate with her too?" Jiang Fan nodded, then shook his head. "I can't, but someone else can." He patted the Ghost Crystal in his possession.

"Get up and get to work." Hua Xin stretched luxuriously, groaning, "It's been so nice not hearing a certain annoying voice for over a month!"

Jiang Fan said, "You might be comfortable, but your people are suffering." Hua Xin immediately looked out, and upon seeing the woman, gasped in surprise. "A Dark Asura? They went extinct in the Underworld ages ago! How could she possibly appear in your Middle Earth? Where did she come from?"

Jiang Fan said, "She fell from the sky. You talk to her for a bit."

Hua Xin was also very shocked, her eyes showing a majestic gaze as she began to transmit her voice directly. The woman was startled, and initially, quite delighted. She thought Hua Xin was from the same race as her. But as they conversed, the woman began to scream in anger, then closed her mouth, glaring resentfully at Hua Xin without saying another word.

Jiang Fan narrowed his eyes. "It seems you two don't get along?" Hua Xin scoffed, "Don't get along? It's more than that. If you release me, I'll kill her right now!"

So there was a feud. Jiang Fan's eyes flickered. "Did you get any useful information? If you know something, don't hide it. If the Ancient Giants descend upon Middle Earth, it won't benefit you." He was worried Hua Xin might be holding back.

Hua Xin was silent for a moment, then said, "She gave three important pieces of information. First, her name is Tian Ge. Second, she escaped from the Southern Heaven Realm. Third, the Ancient Giants are mobilizing and will descend upon Middle Earth within three months."

Hearing the last piece of news, Jiang Fan's body shuddered. What was destined to come, was coming after all! But it was arriving much faster than expected! Three months. What could be done in three months? He was utterly distraught and asked again, "Can you extract any more useful intelligence? For example, how many Ancient Giants are coming? Do they have any special weapons? What preparations have they made?"

Hua Xin gestured towards Tian Ge with her chin. "Look at how she hates me. Do you think she'd still be willing to talk to me? If you want to know, ask her yourself. You could try to charm her and win her over. You seem quite adept at dealing with women; no woman can escape your grasp." With that, before Jiang Fan could retort, she covered her ears and lay back on the chair, effectively muted herself from the conversation.

Jiang Fan glared at her, but didn't have time to deal with her. He turned to Bai Xin, his expression grim. "Commander Bai, bad news has arrived. You..." Suddenly, he noticed Tong Fei seemingly glancing elsewhere, but his ears were subtly twitching, eavesdropping on their conversation. He decisively used the Silent Meditation, speaking directly into Bai Xin's mind, reiterating the three pieces of information mentioned earlier.

Bai Xin was startled. "Is that true?" Jiang Fan shook his head. "I can't confirm it's true, but it's better to believe it and be prepared for the worst."

Bai Xin's expression also grew serious. She immediately turned and said, "Huang Ying, let's go!" Huang Ying followed, a look of surprise on her face. "Sir, where did you pick up that person? He actually managed to extract information? Tell me, I'll go pick one up too..."

Watching Bai Xin leave with the information, Tong Fei was beside himself with anxiety. He stepped forward and said, "Kid, there's no future for you with Bai Xin! She's all about public duty, with no room for personal favors. No matter how great your contributions, she won't show you any favoritism. Following me is different. A person like you would be greatly valued by me!" To get his hands on the information, he intended to poach Bai Xin's subordinate.

Jiang Fan said blandly, "Commander Tong, I think you should learn from Commander Bai. With the Ancient Giants looming, public duty must be prioritized." Tong Fei didn't get the information and was lectured in return. His face immediately darkened. He glared fiercely at Jiang Fan and said, "Just don't regret it! Let's go!" Then, filled with resentment, he led his subordinates away. After all, this was a Buddhist site, so he couldn't act recklessly towards Jiang Fan.

The Dharma Seal Vajra watched them leave, then unhurriedly stepped forward and said, "Master Jiang, could you also share this woman's information with us?" Jiang Fan extended his hand. "Master Dharma Seal, you wouldn't expect someone to work for nothing, would you?"

The Dharma Seal Vajra was speechless, finding it both funny and frustrating that Jiang Fan was extorting from a Buddhist temple. After a moment's thought, he looked at Jiang Fan and said, "Benefactor Jiang, you're cultivating some sort of cultivation method that uses true spirit blood as a primer, aren't you?"

Jiang Fan's heart skipped a beat. Could it be that White Horse Temple possessed true spirit blood?
