Chapter 584: Accompanying You to Play

Six Paths Revered's spirit trembled. He let out a scream of extreme terror: "You... you... you have a Nascent Soul level spirit? How is this possible? How can this be?"

This discovery was like an ant about to be crushed suddenly transforming into a fierce flood dragon. It was too absurd, too unbelievable, too incredible.

Jiang Fan chuckled. "Otherwise, why do you think I'm a Soul Master?"

He squatted down and extended a finger. His finger was larger than Six Paths Revered's remnant spirit. With a light press, he pinned the remnant spirit to the ground, where it struggled in agony.

"Jiang Fan! Is this your ultimate hidden secret?" Six Paths Revered scoffed at himself. He had been observing Jiang Fan in secret, believing he had uncovered all his secrets. He even had countermeasures for soul attack secret arts. Yet, in the end, he had no idea how terrifyingly powerful Jiang Fan's spirit truly was.

While not entirely at the Nascent Soul level, it was not far off. His plan to possess Jiang Fan was a colossal joke from the very beginning. With only a remnant spirit, he was less than a tenth of his power during his peak. Possessing an early Core Formation realm practitioner wouldn't have been an issue. But possessing a Nascent Soul? That would truly be seeking his own demise.

"Ultimate secret?" Jiang Fan's greatest secret was undoubtedly the Grand Void Divine Tree, but he obviously couldn't reveal that. "I have many secrets. I wonder which one you're referring to."

He looked at Six Paths Revered with a half-smile. The latter's face flushed with shame and indignation.

"Since you weren't afraid of possession," he questioned, "why did you pretend to resist? If you had just let me enter your spirit platform from the beginning, wouldn't it all have been over?"

Jiang Fan smiled faintly. "You've been plotting for so long, putting in so much effort. I should at least let you be happy for a bit, let you have some sense of accomplishment. Crushing your hopes right from the start would be a bit heartless."

Six Paths Revered was so enraged he swore. "This bastard!" He deliberately showed weakness, giving him an illusion of invincibility, as if everything was under his control. Then, he delivered a crushing blow, sending him plummeting from heaven to hell.

"Jiang Fan, what a ruthless tactic!" he said huffily. "I'm defeated, I surrender!" He huffed, "I should have known. How could a sly one like you not guard against my possession? And since you guarded against me, how would you dare come here with me without an absolute trump card? I was wise for a lifetime, only to be foolish for a moment!"

However, after a moment of silence, Jiang Fan uttered words that stunned him:

"Actually," Jiang Fan began, "I'm very grateful to you. Whether you were sincere or had ulterior motives, you guided me a lot, like a teacher. I've been alone on my cultivation path until now, figuring things out and comprehending on my own; you're the only one who has ever guided me. Sometimes I wonder how great it would be if you weren't an evil spirit. Perhaps we could have become both teacher and friend. And even though I suspected you had ill intentions, I still came. Not for any other reason, but what if you truly just wanted to possess a body? What if I misunderstood you?"

Six Paths Revered listened in silence. After a long while, he sighed despondently and said hoarsely, "I'm afraid I disappointed you."

Jiang Fan said nothing more. After quietly observing him for a long time, he said with a complex expression, "Reincarnate soon, and live the life you desire."

Six Paths Revered knew Jiang Fan was about to eliminate him. He stopped struggling. He clasped his fists and smiled, "I'll take your blessing."

Jiang Fan nodded. He pressed down firmly with his finger. *Pfft!* Six Paths Revered's remnant spirit was crushed into pieces.

However! He didn't dissipate entirely! Invisible threads connected the shattered parts of his spirit. After rising into the air, they re-coalesced and once again formed Six Paths Revered's remnant spirit.

"Heh heh, kid, did you think it would be that easy to kill me?" Six Paths Revered smirked triumphantly. "It's still too early for me to reincarnate, isn't it?" He immediately flew out of Jiang Fan's spirit platform.

Jiang Fan was momentarily stunned, then couldn't help but laugh in surprise. "I actually forgot, you're a demonic overlord! Can't relax for a second. But... you still have to die." He sighed softly.

From Jiang Fan's forehead, Six Paths Revered hurriedly emerged and took a step towards the puppet, screaming orders: "Quick, attack! Kill him!"

Spiritually, he couldn't defeat Jiang Fan, but his puppet could kill Jiang Fan with ease. However, while he was still in mid-air, Jiang Fan pulled out a string of Buddhist beads from his robe and scattered them towards him.

In an instant, streams of Buddhist light erupted from the beads, shining onto Six Paths Revered's remnant spirit. He, who was flying rapidly, was immediately frozen in mid-air by the Buddhist light. He was shocked: "Buddhist light?"

Before he could break free from the Buddhist light's control, the string of Buddhist beads descended, encircling him. The beads then began to revolve around him continuously, finally twisting around him like a rope, binding him securely.

And with him controlled, the puppet, which had just been preparing to attack, stood motionless like wood.

"Ah! Soul-Suppressing Buddhist Beads!" he exclaimed. "When did you get those? How did I not know?"

Jiang Fan smiled faintly. "I told you, I have many secrets, more than you can ever guess."

Immediately, without further hesitation, he retrieved the Ancient Heart-Illuminating Mirror from the corpse's chest. Finally, he looked at the mysterious seed on its finger, disguised as a spatial storage ring. After some thought, he channeled his spiritual power, used his purple sword to sever the finger along with the spatial storage ring, and placed them into a jade box. He then sealed it and tossed it into the Heavenly Thunder Stone.

As for the puppet corpse, Jiang Fan was quite tempted. Unfortunately, the corpse was linked to Six Paths Revered's heart and soul. No one but Six Paths Revered could control it, so there was no other choice but to destroy it.

Just then, Jiang Fan suddenly felt movement from above and his heart tensed. The people from the Myriad Tribulations Sacred Hall were coming. He quickly took out his Turtle Breath Cloak, hid himself by the exit, and waited for an opportunity.

Soon after, Revered Azure Crane arrived with a group of people. As soon as they emerged, they saw Six Paths Revered's corpse, eyes wide open and bloodshot. His gaze sharpened, but he then realized it was a corpse, lowered his guard, and showed surprise.

"Six Paths Revered truly did perish here all those years ago!" He immediately stepped forward to examine the corpse. After searching its body and not finding what he was looking for, his expression darkened again. "The item isn't here? Also, where's its spatial storage device? Could it be that someone took it years ago?"

Suddenly, he noticed that a section of the corpse's index finger was missing, and it was still dripping blood. There were only a few drops on the ground. What did this mean? The index finger had just been severed. The person was still here! They hadn't left yet!

*Snap!* Realizing this, without a second thought, he flicked his whisk backward at the cave entrance. The Serene Lotus Threads spread out, forming a massive spiderweb that tightly sealed the entrance. A cold smile appeared on his face. "I finally caught you! Come out and face this Revered One!"
