Chapter 300: Mysterious Spiritual Ring

He doubted if he was seeing things.

Wasn't Jiang Fan currently wanted by the Sect Leader? Disciples were still searching for him throughout the city. How could he have possibly accepted a Joyful Union Sect mission?

He stared intently, his face turning unusually surprised. He saw that the information column clearly stated: "Qingyun Sect Disciple, Jiang Fan." Who else could it be but Jiang Fan?

Yue Mingzhu's ears twitched. The name "Jiang Fan" now triggered a strong reaction in her. Hearing the name, she frowned and said, "Why are you mentioning him? Do you have information about him?"

She felt utterly powerless regarding Jiang Fan. They had mobilized the entire sect to search for him all night, yet there was no sign of him. They were practically digging three feet underground. She really didn't know where that scoundrel was hiding.

Xie Liushu, however, was too shocked to speak, holding the register and repeatedly pointing at it.

Yue Mingzhu's frown deepened. "Are you mute? I'm asking you a question, why are you pointing at the register?"

Xie Liushu's heart trembled from the shock, and he finally managed to stammer out: "Jiang Fan... is on it..."

Jiang Fan's name on the register? Yue Mingzhu flatly refused to believe it. She snatched the register and said, "If your eyes aren't working, donate them. How could Jiang Fan's information possibly appear here? Every piece of identity information here requires ver... verification..."

As she spoke, Yue Mingzhu's eyes gradually widened. The characters "Qingyun Sect Disciple Jiang Fan" were clearly reflected in her eyes. She simply couldn't believe her eyes. Jiang Fan had actually accepted a Joyful Union Sect mission? How was this possible? She had searched everywhere for Jiang Fan without success, yet he, with his profound abilities, had gone to the Joyful Union Sect and accepted a mission? How did he do it?

Yue Mingzhu snapped back to reality, pointed at Jiang Fan's name, and exclaimed, "This is outrageous! Are everyone in your Mission Hall blind? Jiang Fan came to accept a mission, and you didn't recognize him? You even let him successfully take it? If word gets out, we'll be a laughingstock!"

The disciple who had returned the register said with a bitter expression, "Sect Leader, the six tasks listed were all arranged by Elder Ling. I, I didn't know she arranged them for Jiang Fan."

Elder Ling? How could she possibly arrange tasks for Jiang Fan? If she saw Jiang Fan, she would surely capture him and hand him over for punishment. Wait!

Yue Mingzhu suddenly realized something. Her trembling finger pointed at Jiang Fan's signature: "Was this name signed by the person in the carriage?" The disciple nodded, "Yes, the register went around the carriage and came out with six names."

She staggered back, her body swaying, and she took several steps back. She weakly grasped the table, feeling as if the world was spinning. That masked person, the one she had called a fellow Daoist, he was none other than Jiang Fan!!!

She had stumbled upon great luck, coincidentally encountering his carriage, yet she hadn't known it was Jiang Fan! Not only that, she had even let the Grand Elder send him off! She had watched him, right under her nose, take the mission and swagger away!

Yue Mingzhu felt a coppery taste in her throat. She was so furious she almost coughed up blood! She extended a trembling finger and stammered, "Chase him! Chase him for me!!! Chase him to the ends of the earth, but bring him back to me!"

The disciple trembled with fear and said, "Sect Leader, the Grand Elder has already left Joyful Union City. For safety, their route is confidential. I'm afraid we won't be able to catch them."

Hearing this, Yue Mingzhu was so angry that she instantly overturned the table, her full bosom heaving with rage. She shrieked hysterically, "Jiang Fan! Jiang Fan!! Just you wait!!!" No one had ever made her this angry. Never!

Meanwhile, Jiang Fan inexplicably felt a chill down his spine and instinctively pulled his neck in. "That's odd, is someone talking about me?" he mumbled. Only after confirming they had completely left Joyful Union City did his heart settle.

He watched Ji Ruyue and the others meditating with their eyes closed. An idea struck him. He reached into his embrace, beckoned to the little Qilin, and said, "Bring out that green spiritual light." It had been inconvenient before due to the many prying eyes. Now, he could finally take a good look at what that green spiritual light from the Nascent Soul cultivator's cave dwelling was.

As his palm felt a chill, Jiang Fan realized something was in his hand. He took it out and was surprised. It was actually an emerald ring, emitting a deep green glow. Two small characters were engraved on the ring's base. "Wuliang?" Jiang Fan muttered, put it on his finger, and tried to infuse spiritual energy into it. But the ring only became a deeper green; there were no other changes. "That's odd, don't ordinary magic artifacts display their properties after spiritual energy is infused? Could this ring be just an ordinary one?"

However, he remembered that miser who had swallowed the ring to hide it even at the point of death. This indicated that it was definitely the most important treasure in the Nascent Soul cultivator's cave dwelling.

With this in mind, he pulled back the curtain and found endless plains all around. There wasn't even an unfortunate tree he could use to test it out. Left with no choice, he looked up at the sky, gazing at the clouds.

He extended his finger, wearing the ring, and lightly tapped. The ring emitted no special fluctuations. This made Jiang Fan a little frustrated: "No way? Did I just fight Yue Mingzhu for a mere showpiece?"

Just then! An astonishing sight appeared! The layers of clouds in the sky seemed to be affected by an immense gravitational force! With a thump, they fell from the sky, crashed onto the ground, and turned into dense water vapor, surging in all directions!

This scene caused Elder Ling, who was driving the carriage, to narrow her pupils. She immediately stood up and loudly exclaimed, "What powerful expert is here? Please show yourself!" To actually pull clouds from the sky to the ground. What kind of divine ability was this? She had never heard of such a thing!

Everyone inside the carriage was also startled awake, gazing with astonished expressions at the bizarre scene before them. "Clouds can actually be pulled down?" "What kind of immortal technique is this?"

Jiang Fan was stunned. Was this caused by his finger tap just now? It seemed the gravity around that cloud had become extremely strong, causing the cloud to crash to the ground, unable to bear the weight. He looked at the emerald ring and then thought of the two characters "Wuliang." He vaguely understood the ring's function. It could actually alter gravity!

He was secretly delighted; this was an unexpected trump card. When encountering an unbeatable enemy, suddenly subjecting them to immense gravity could, at best, restrict their movement. At worst, it could crush them to death! As expected, nothing left by a Nascent Soul cultivator was simple!

However, Jiang Fan soon noticed that the ring, which had been emerald green moments ago, was now much dimmer. Evidently, the ring required a vast amount of spiritual energy to activate once. It couldn't be used indefinitely. But this already made Jiang Fan very pleased.

He pretended to be unaware, jumped out of the carriage, and looked around in surprise: "What happened?" Elder Ling said gravely, "A powerful expert is making a move. Even a mid-stage Core Formation martial artist might not be able to withstand that attack."

Jiang Fan stroked his chin. He had a preliminary understanding of the destructive power of a gravity attack. He said, "Then let's leave quickly, lest we disturb that powerful expert."

Elder Ling, however, frowned slightly. "It won't be easy for us to leave, I'm afraid." Her gaze swept towards the horizon. A tremendous plume of dust, like a soaring yellow dragon, came into view!

Jiang Fan stared intently. It was a group of disciples in uniform attire. All of them had a thunder pattern embroidered on their chests. Could this be the Righteous Thunder Sect, the most mysterious of the Nine Sects? But soon, Jiang Fan's pupils contracted, because, among this group of disciples, he saw a female figure he knew all too well!
