Chapter 1644: Angel's Blade

"Cannot provoke?" Jiang Fan wondered if they were referring to the Primordial Void Ancient Tree. Who was the other unprovokable person? Did that person also possess a Primordial Void Ancient Tree?

As he pondered, the voice from deep within the garden spoke again. "Who comes here?"

Jiang Fan, not daring to be presumptuous, cupped his hands and replied, "Jiang Fan, from the Middle-Earth Realm!"

"So, you are from Middle-Earth. No wonder.""Very well, proceed inside."

The Azure Dragon on the city wall slowly withdrew, and the Desolate Ancient Token carried Jiang Fan into the garden.

Jiang Fan was filled with doubt. "Who was that speaking? The owner of this garden?""And why did he say my origin from Middle-Earth explains my uniqueness?""Is Middle-Earth itself extraordinary?""But, Middle-Earth has suffered millennia of devastation from the Celestial Realm; it shouldn't be that powerful, should it?"

Amidst his confusion, a roar, like a clap of thunder, exploded near his ear, making Jiang Fan's body tremble. He looked down.

A white tiger, dozens of feet tall, lay among a pile of rocks. Upon noticing Jiang Fan's passage, it leaped to its feet. Its terrifying roar rendered Jiang Fan rigid. The aura it exuded made Jiang Fan gasp. It was actually a supreme demon beast in the Five Decays of Heaven and Man realm!

For some reason, it had not transformed into a human form, remaining in its beastly state. Its intelligence was also not as high as a transformed supreme being. Its eyes, filled with greed and ferocity, resembled those of a man-eating beast.

Jiang Fan was startled and instinctively took out his magical artifact, preparing to respond.

Just as the white tiger leaped towards them, about to devour them, it hit an invisible barrier separating the space above. A wisp of law released from the barrier instantly caused the white tiger's body to rot, sending it plummeting down with continuous whimpers of pain.

Yet, its ferocity remained undiminished. It glared fiercely at Jiang Fan before limping into the pile of rocks.

Jiang Fan breathed a slight sigh of relief, finally feeling at ease. To his surprise, that white tiger was not the only fierce beast in the garden. More accurately, it was one of the more common fierce beasts among many. Along the way, he had seen at least five creatures in the Five Decays of Heaven and Man realm. Some were demon beasts, while others were creatures he couldn't identify. As for those in the Four Decays or Three Decays of Heaven and Man realms, there were even more.

It seemed the entire garden was filled with dangerous creatures. He couldn't help but murmur, "Could it be that we are supposed to hunt these dangerous creatures?""With my cultivation in the First Decay of Heaven and Man, who would be hunting whom?""Are they sure this is Desolate Ancient Hunt and not Desolate Ancient Feeding?"

Soon after, the Desolate Ancient Token brought him to the center of the garden. Roughly estimated, the garden was at least as large as Taicang Grand State. Even at the speed of someone in the First Decay of Heaven and Man, traversing it would take several hours at minimum. It was unimaginable what kind of being could have created something of this scale.

In the center of the garden were several circular platforms cast in bronze. Jiang Fan suddenly found them familiar. After a moment of careful recollection, he realized these were the same bronze grounds from the endpoint of the Linlang Hunt. Previously, a God Transformation realm expert had presided there, along with a colossal, mountain-sized alchemical furnace.

Now, the bronze platforms were empty. Moreover, there were similar bronze platforms everywhere, at least over a hundred of them. He understood that these bronze platforms would travel to various realms to host the Linlang Hunt. The ultimate victors would then gather here for the final Desolate Ancient Hunt.

"But are there really so many worlds?" Jiang Fan gasped slightly, looking at the bronze platforms scattered everywhere. In his knowledge, there were only three realms: Middle-Earth, Hell, and the Celestial Realm. It now seemed that beyond these three realms, there were other worlds unknown to them.

The Desolate Ancient Token brought him to one of the bronze platforms and then melted into a shimmering liquid. The liquid then wriggled and coalesced into a crown, bearing the inscription "Middle-Earth Jiang Fan." Subsequently, the crown flew to his head and settled gently. His expression shifted slightly as he tried to remove the crown, only to find it firmly affixed to his head, impossible to take off.

"This is..." Jiang Fan felt a slight unease. He looked around, realizing he was the only one there. Presumably, the other Desolate Ancient Token holders were still en route. This made him grumble internally, "They urged me like a death-urgency ghost, but I arrived and there's no one here!" However, being alone was actually convenient. He had been constantly in battle, with no time to inventory his belongings. Now, with the empty space, it was the perfect opportunity.

He first retrieved a wisp of Green Pearl's soul, confirmed it was intact, and carefully stored it in a soul crystal. "When I return and find Green Pearl, I'll return her soul.""Then we'll be even." He sighed softly, recalling Green Pearl's lonely back as she resolutely faced death.

Next, he took out the Yang Fish given by Mouse, the Untruthful. It felt heavy in his hand, clearly indicating it contained something.

"What exactly did that guy steal from the Celestial Realm? He actually managed to achieve enlightenment in the Dao of Theft and ascend to the God Transformation realm," Jiang Fan mused with a sigh. When he initially suggested Mouse, the Untruthful, go to the Celestial Realm to steal something for enlightenment, he hadn't held much hope. After all, achieving enlightenment in the God Transformation realm was incredibly difficult; how could it be so easy? Unexpectedly, Mouse, the Untruthful, had actually succeeded.

"Surely that guy didn't actually steal the third most valuable treasure from the Black Sun Royal Court's treasury, did he?" Jiang Fan's heart fluttered. According to Green Pearl, if this item ever fell into human hands, it would surely bring about utter catastrophe.

He immediately opened the Yang Fish's spatial dimension. As his consciousness swept through it, his eyes widened, and he almost cried out in surprise! Inside was a small, crescent-shaped blade, as white as jade, radiating an incredibly sacred light. It exuded a powerful pressure far surpassing that of spirit artifacts! It was clearly a quasi-world artifact!

And Jiang Fan was no stranger to this item. Because he had once personally witnessed the owner of the Rivers and Mountains Pavilion use a broken blade to stab a Giant Emperor to death! That's right! This was the Angel Blade! And it was a complete Angel Blade!

Jiang Fan gasped, "Good heavens, no wonder the ancient giants considered it a cataclysm!""If even a Giant Emperor could be killed with one stab, then what about Giant Kings and ordinary giants?""I fear they would explode from the inside out, just like the Giant Emperor, if merely grazed by it."

"However..." Jiang Fan frowned. "Why didn't King Black Sun destroy such a dangerous item?""Keeping it would only invite great trouble for himself, wouldn't it?"

Then he suddenly noticed that the Angel Blade in his hand uncontrollably turned its edge until it pointed at his chest. At the same time, a beautiful golden feather emerged from Jiang Fan's chest. The two seemed to resonate with each other.

Jiang Fan rubbed his chin, speculating, "Could it be that King Black Sun kept this item to one day use the Angel Blade to search for some treasure of the Angel race?""Besides that, I can't think of any other profound reason for someone as afraid of death as he was to keep something that posed such a fatal threat to himself.""Unfortunately, he's dead, so there's no way to know."

Gripping the Angel Blade, Jiang Fan swung it twice, a satisfied smile appearing on his face. He now had another weapon to counter the giants. Even a Giant Emperor, if rendered immobile, could be dispatched with a single strike. This ensured he wouldn't be in a situation where a wounded Giant Emperor lay before him, yet he couldn't even finish it off.

Thinking of this, he took out several broken pieces of a vine—the Immortal-Binding Vine that Nine Nether Demon Venerable had seized from Qing Tian Lie Xian, leader of Middle-Earth's Ten Sins. According to Nine Nether Demon Venerable, this vine could bind any creature below the Sage realm. It would be perfectly suited for the current hunt!
