Chapter 1535: The Fate of the Cannibals

He immediately raised his spiked club and swung it fiercely towards the corn cob. Unexpectedly, the vine from within the corn cob swiftly coiled around his other arm with lightning speed.

Not only that, but the vine seemed to be infinitely extendable. It then wrapped around his neck, continuously coiling downwards along his body: his chest, abdomen, thighs, calves, and finally his ankles. In the blink of an eye, the Fire Giant King was bound like a human-shaped sticky rice dumpling.

The Fire Giant King was greatly alarmed. The fiery red star on his forehead spun rapidly, and his body seemed to want to melt and spray out as lava. To his surprise, the end of the vine plunged into the star, fixing the spinning orb and preventing the Fire Giant King from activating his domain.

"What is this thing?" the Fire Giant King panicked. He struggled with all his might, but the vine's toughness surpassed all imagination. No matter how much force he exerted, he couldn't break free. Unwilling to give up, he shot out his long tongue, piercing towards the corn cob.

With a soft thud, the corn cob was easily punctured. However, the seed showed no signs of injury. Instead, a sharp pain shot through his tongue. The Fire Giant King retracted his tongue, only to find that the part which had entered the corn cob was corroded and rotted by an unknown liquid!

Moreover, this act enraged the seed. The corn cob rose high, reaching the level of the Fire Giant King's head. The corn cob, about the size of his head, quickly opened its maw. The arm that had been bitten off was being corroded into a bare bone within its mouth!

The Fire Giant King's head was engulfed by the corn cob's shadow. This made him scream in terror, "Stop! Make it stop!!!"

The Fire Giant King couldn't remember how many beings he had devoured in his life. He only knew that he preferred to eat them alive. The sensation of his prey desperately thrashing in his mouth was more satisfying than the taste of the food itself. He believed he would continue to eat more living things in the future, and keep eating them, because he was at the top of the food chain; other beings were born to be his food.

But he had never imagined in his wildest dreams that he would be eaten alive by an even more terrifying creature. He was scared, terrified, and desperate, as afraid as the beings he had once eaten alive.

"Wang Chongxiao, I admit my mistake, I am willing to be a slave to your human race!"

"Please spare me, I beg you!!!"

Jiang Fan's cold, merciless gaze was his only answer. "Did you admit your mistake when you ate the Asura children? Did you admit your mistake when you massacred so many humans in our Middle Earth? Now that you're about to die, you suddenly feel you were wrong? If you want to admit your mistakes, go confess them to the unseeing souls of the deceased in the Underworld!"

He turned away. The Seed's massive mouth suddenly enveloped the Fire Giant King's head. The huge head stretched the corn cob, filling it completely. His face was pressed tightly against the corn cob, outlining his grotesque features. Terrified, he uttered his final plea: "Let me go, I will intercede for your Middle Earth with the Giant race..."

*Crunch!*

The corn cob's teeth applied force, snapping his neck. Then, with a tilt of its head, it swallowed the entire skull with a gurgling sound. The seemingly tiny seed and slender sprout managed to contain the massive head. The Fire Giant King's pleas for mercy abruptly ceased. Then, the corn cob quickly devoured the Fire Giant King in large chunks.

A few breaths later, the two leaves of the sprout gently patted its belly, like hands, signifying that it was full. Suddenly, the corn cob recoiled, then sprayed forward abruptly. A large stream of foul-smelling liquid, along with undigested bone fragments, was ejected. Among them was a fiery red star, mostly corroded, with only a damaged fragment remaining.

The Fire Giant King had fallen completely. Jiang Fan stared at the star and said coldly, "Being eaten alive is your deserved fate!" He put away the seed and, without hesitation, rushed to the main battlefield.

The pincer attack from both the Gold Warband and the Fire Warband put the Southeast Allied Army on the defensive. They were entangled in fierce internal combat and couldn't break free. As the Gold Warband pressed forward like an overwhelming flood of steel, they split the main battlefield into eastern and western sides. Then, they each converged, forming two encirclements. Wielding their spiked clubs, they continuously swung, crushing and injuring human powerhouses in droves. As soon as an area was cleared, they would advance a few steps, tightening the encirclement. This forced the humans and ancient giants within the encirclement to engage in close-quarters combat, as they couldn't maintain distance. Close-quarters combat was the ancient giants' strong suit.

Even without the command of a Giant King, the Gold Warband displayed unparalleled coordination and executed powerful tactics. This was related to their lifelong experience of hunting. This ingrained experience was unique among other beings. The human powerhouses in both encirclements were in precarious situations. Whichever side Jiang Fan assisted, the other would be on the verge of annihilation!

"Brother Jiang, I've got the east side!" A resolute voice came from the western encirclement. It was Fayin. He had shed his usual calm demeanor; his eyes were firm and murderous, and his body was stained with blood, as if he'd been steeped in a vat of it. Only Yu Wei beside him, clad in her ethereal robe, remained spotless. She simply stood silently by Fayin, not participating in the fight.

Seeing the perilous situation, he gritted his teeth and said to Yu Wei, "Lend me your strength." Yu Wei hesitated, then nodded gently, placing her finger on Fayin's forehead. Instantly, Fayin's aura surged, and his cultivation level soared to the Divine Transformation Realm, just as Jiang Fan's had when he used the Six Divisions Unification. In contrast, Yu Wei's body became momentarily transparent. Although it was brief and she quickly returned to normal, it showed that Yu Wei had to pay a huge price.

Jiang Fan, grateful, clasped his hands towards Fayin and Yu Wei, "Thank you both. I, Jiang, am deeply grateful!" He bowed deeply, then swiftly charged into the western battlefield.

A quick glance revealed that on the periphery, fifty ancient giants, with clearly defined roles, were gradually tightening the encirclement. Inside, thirty more were responsible for close-quarters hunting of human powerhouses. The immediate priority was to break through the encirclement, allowing the humans enough space for long-range combat against the ancient giants!

He soared forward and shouted, "The Gold and Fire Giant Kings are dead! The Giant Kings are dead!!!" His full-throated cry barely managed to rise above the deafening chaos of the battlefield. The ancient giants paused their attacks and looked towards the battle area; indeed, the Fire Giant King was nowhere to be seen. Only the massive, headless corpse of the Gold Giant King remained. This immediately caused a wave of panic and unrest.

Seizing the opportunity, Jiang Fan shouted, "I am Wang Chongxiao, slayer of the Space Giant King and capturer of Princess Zijiang! If you don't want to die, get out of my way!"

Such was his reputation. Wang Chongxiao had ascended to the Heavenly Realm twice: first, by slaying the Space Giant King, and later, by eliminating the Impeccable Venerable and annihilating an entire military camp. He was already a deep-seated fear in the hearts of the ancient giants. Now, he had successively slain the Gold Giant King and the Fire Giant King, who had led them to descend. Who wouldn't feel shaken? The ancient giants exchanged glances, all of them considering retreat.

However, just then, from the forbidden area, another dull, incredibly loud thud resonated. A twenty-zhang (approx. 66-meter) Giant King, enveloped in swirling yellow sand, descended, leading a warband! He surveyed the scene with a glance and immediately noticed the situation on the eastern front. He gave a grim smile: "It seems the credit is mine!"
