Chapter 1511: A Package

Tianji Pavilion.

When Jiang Fan returned, he found the Pavilion Master and some disciples arranging three ancient formation plates.

Jiang Fan remembered these were defensive treasures gifted by several Venerables from Great Barren State when they paid their respects last time.

Each formation plate could withstand one attack from a Spirit Transformation Venerable.

If Giant Kings were to reach Tianji Pavilion, these plates could temporarily block three of their attacks.

However, if it truly came to that, it would mean that Taicang Great State had been utterly defeated and was powerless to prevent the ancient giants from destroying all sects, big and small.

At that point, the situation would undoubtedly be critical.

He hoped these formation plates would never be needed.

"Martial Uncle? You're back!"

Xia Chaoge, who was assisting the Pavilion Master, seemed to sense his presence and looked over, her calm eyes immediately filling with joy. She dropped what she was doing and quickly rushed over, standing gracefully before Jiang Fan.

She wore a long, cloud-embroidered gown the color of pear blossoms, outlining her slender and beautiful figure. Her dark hair cascaded like a waterfall, and her crystal-clear eyes sparkled like jewels.

A faint, refreshing fragrance drifted on the breeze.

Jiang Fan looked at her with a complex expression.

This girl, who was as quiet as water and only smiled radiantly like a peach blossom when she saw him, was actually from another race. How did she come to Middle-earth from the Heavenly Realm? And why did she come?

What was her purpose in hiding her identity? Suddenly, he felt Xia Chaoge was somewhat unfamiliar.

"Martial Uncle? What's wrong?"

"Are you hurt?" Seeing Jiang Fan's unusual expression, Xia Chaoge's smile faded, and she became worried.

She wouldn't even frown if she herself was injured. Only when Jiang Fan was hurt did she find it hard to remain calm.

Jiang Fan collected his thoughts, looking at her concerned face, and recalled all their past interactions. Finally, he sighed inwardly:

"Forget it, who she is and what her purpose is doesn't matter. All I need to know is that she is Xia Chaoge, the one who has always quietly cared for me."

Shaking his head, Jiang Fan smiled faintly, "Nothing, the trip went very smoothly." Xia Chaoge didn't believe him, frowning, "Then why were you staring at me blankly just now?"

Jiang Fan chuckled softly, "It's been a while since I've seen you. Can't I just look at you a bit longer?" Xia Chaoge blushed and quickly glanced around, two patches of red appearing on her fair face.

This was the first time Jiang Fan had said something so intimate to her. It made her quite embarrassed.

It also made her heart flutter like a startled deer, and she began to imagine things, secretly pondering the deeper meaning of Jiang Fan's words.

Jiang Fan took out the Earth Tooth Sword and handed it to her, saying, "This is the top-grade spirit sword, Earth Tooth Sword, given to me by my godmother. I'm lending it to you for self-defense for now."

The Grand Evolution Sword Array, once perfected, required six top-grade spirit swords. Currently, he only had five; the Earth Tooth Sword and Evil Sword were just sitting idle, so it was better to give them to Xia Chaoge to use for killing enemies in the upcoming battle against the ancient giants.

Xia Chaoge was stunned. Given to Jiang Fan by his godmother? So this was something from Jiang Fan's family. Shouldn't it be given to future daughters-in-law like Immortal Yunshang or Liu Qingxian? Why give it to her?

Xia Chaoge's face flushed even more. She stared at the Earth Tooth Sword offered to her, not daring to take it for a long while. Jiang Fan muttered inwardly, "I'm just lending her a sword, why is she blushing? Did I say something ambiguous?"

He tentatively said, "Chaoge, if you don't want this sword, I can give you something else." He made a move to take it back.

Xia Chaoge quickly snatched it, her face red, and looked away, not daring to meet Jiang Fan's eyes. She stammered, "Yes, of course, I want it. Thank you, Martial Uncle. I-I'll go help the Pavilion Master arrange the formation plates now." With that, she ran off as if fleeing.

Leaving Jiang Fan utterly bewildered.

"Heh heh, she dares to accept a top-grade spirit sword. If Xu Youran knew, she'd be scared into returning it."

Liu Qingxian watched the scene, giving Jiang Fan a playful glare. Jiang Fan couldn't help but laugh.

He naturally knew what Liu Qingxian was referring to. It was back then, at the foot of Boundary Mountain, when he was distributing Bodhi seeds to everyone. Xu Youran had suddenly appeared, frightening Xia Chaoge into self-consciously returning the Bodhi seed. Looking at Liu Qingxian who was walking towards him, Jiang Fan didn't hesitate.

He took out the Azure Frost Sword. As the inheritor of the mysterious Sword Dao Elder's sword art, Liu Qingxian also needed a good sword. He only needed the Snow Listener, Purple Sword, and Evil Sword to form the Grand Evolution Sword Array and kill enemies.

"Here, I'm lending you this one."

Liu Qingxian took it, then giggled, "Now that's more like it! You gave one to my junior niece but not to me? I'd have to tell Xu Youran!"

Jiang Fan smiled faintly, finding it amusing; only Liu Qingxian would be so direct with him. He looked at the beauty in the purple long dress, stepped forward, silently wrapped his arm around her waist, and whispered, "On the battlefield, take good care of yourself."

Liu Qingxian's smile faded, and her mood grew heavy. In this battle, anyone could fall. She might, and Jiang Fan might too.

"You too, Xiao Fan." Liu Qingxian reached out and hugged him, savoring the last moment of tenderness before the catastrophe. Sensing the emotions of parting, Jiang Fan was moved, lowered his head, and kissed her red lips.

However.

Some things, however, were simply born without discernment.

Something tugged at Jiang Fan's pant leg.

He looked down to see a spirit beast with a beard, covered in green scales, and in the form of a baby. Who else could it be but the Rebellious Kid?

It rubbed its hands together and said in a childish voice, "Big brother, could you give me a treasure too?" It turned out the Rebellious Kid had been watching from afar as Jiang Fan gave out treasures one after another and was tempted. So, it ran over to ask for one.

His good moment was interrupted, and Jiang Fan flew into a rage, kicking it away! "Stop spending so much time with Liang Feiyan!"

The Rebellious Kid tumbled several times, looking bewildered: "What's wrong with Brother Liang?"

Jiang Fan snorted through his nostrils, finding the Rebellious Kid more and more annoying. Suddenly, he remembered something else that needed to be taken care of, and with a thought, he took out three oval-shaped eggs.

These were the eggs of the Dark Shadow Black Serpent. If hatched, he could extract a highly lethal venom that was deadly to ancient giants.

However, hatching such venomous snakes was quite dangerous. Jiang Fan didn't trust anyone else with it.

The Rebellious Kid was perfect. If this little rebellious creature died from the venom, Jiang Fan wouldn't feel a shred of pity.

His eyes darted, and he cleared his throat, "Rebellious Kid, I have an important mission for you. These are the eggs of three divine beasts. Once they hatch successfully, they will yield a great weapon capable of annihilating the ancient giants. I don't feel comfortable entrusting this task to anyone else. After much thought, only you possess exceptional abilities. Who else but you?"

The Rebellious Kid was stunned. What the devil, Jiang Fan was actually praising him? And saying he had exceptional abilities?

This made the Rebellious Kid puff out its chest; today, the Rebellious Kid had stood tall! However, looking at the so-called divine beast eggs, the two wisps of beard by its lips twitched, and it asked suspiciously, "These are snake eggs, aren't they? The snakes that hatch won't bite me, will they?"

Jiang Fan's face stiffened for a moment. He almost forgot, the Rebellious Kid was a descendant of a true spirit. Its perception of demon beasts was very keen.

Jiang Fan said without changing his expression, "This venom is only harmful to ancient giants. Its toxicity isn't very strong for other creatures. If you get bitten, you'll just get a lump."

After saying that, Jiang Fan silently added in his mind: "A lump the size of a mountain."
