Chapter 932: Arrival on Earth

“I’m back, finally back…” Ye Fan’s divine sense surged like a stormy sea beyond the domain.

From a distance in space, the aquamarine star looked exquisite, like a blue diamond, shimmering with crystalline light, almost dreamlike.

Ye Fan continued his journey, abandoning one Profound Jade Platform after another as he finally drew near. This consumption was immense; fortunately, he had prepared well in advance.

His homeland lay below. The aquamarine star was not very large, far incomparable to the Big Dipper Starfield, nor could it be mentioned alongside the ancient life stars of the Ziwei Starfield. Yet, it possessed an inexplicable vast aura.

Relatively speaking, it was delicate, yet awe-inspiring, as if a living Great Emperor lay dormant, making one tremble involuntarily.

“What a strange feeling. Why do I feel it’s many times larger than what I see, even vaster than the Big Dipper and Ziwei?” Ye Fan paused, filled with doubt and surprise.

From his vantage point beyond the domain, he gazed upon it, feeling that Earth was far more terrifying than he had imagined, possessing a power that sent chills down one’s spine. He pondered what truly lay on the blue star.

Upon his return, he carefully sensed his surroundings. Earth was not as he had imagined; it seemed to hold things and powers beyond his comprehension.

Suddenly, a celestial body streaked across space, not far away. Ye Fan was first surprised, then relieved, realizing it was the Moon.

Its surface was covered in craters, very close together, looking completely different from the Moon as seen from Earth.

“Huh, what’s going on? There seems to be something on it that makes me uneasy,” Ye Fan wondered, startled. After pondering for a moment, he began to descend.

Soon after, Ye Fan landed on the Moon. The temperature was extremely low, and the rocks were hard and cold, as if they could freeze a person solid – it was lunar night.

Ye Fan was moved; he sensed a trace of Lunar Holy Power hidden within the cracks of the Moon’s rocks. However, upon closer inspection, he found it to be incredibly faint.

The Moon, as the essence of the Grand Yin, is mentioned in ancient texts. Could it truly be related to cultivators? Ye Fan felt a headache coming on.

He searched repeatedly and indeed found Lunar Holy Power, but only faint traces remained, almost negligible.

“The Moon, anciently known as Taiyin. If one ponders it carefully, this place holds far too many mysteries!” Ye Fan felt a chill run through him.

Even before truly returning to Earth, he had already sensed some mysterious lost history and obliterated truths here, stirring his heart and mind.

Ye Fan observed intently, touching each rock with his hand, contemplating the vicissitudes of time and sensing the Lunar Holy Power.

He had a peculiar illusion: that in ancient times, this place seemed to be the source of Taiyin, which had dissipated countless eons ago for unknown reasons. He walked forward, touching one cold, hard rock after another.

“Earth, you hold far too many secrets!” Ye Fan murmured to himself. He thought of Jingwei filling the sea, Kuafu chasing the sun, Hou Yi drawing his bow…

And these were certainly only a small part of the legends circulated among the populace; the truly obliterated ancient secrets were the core.

As Ye Fan placed his hand on a rock formation, he surprisingly heard the clang of swords, like the sounds of ancient battles. The battle intent in his bones and the blood in his veins instantly boiled.

This rock bore a sword mark!

There was no doubt; he could distinctly discern the vicissitudes of history etched within it, infused with boundless killing intent.

“An ancient sword mark…” Ye Fan murmured to himself. That was an era of heroes; if he had the chance to witness it, his cultivation would not have been in vain!

“I wonder if I can find the ruins of the Guanghan Palace on this Moon.”

Ye Fan strolled on the Moon, walking aimlessly, searching for ancient relics and sensing the mystery.

Suddenly, he felt something, and looked up. Something was rapidly approaching in the distance, sweeping across the sky above.

Ye Fan’s body shimmered, his true form concealed. A satellite streaked overhead; he neither wanted to strike it down nor flee because of it, choosing only to mask his appearance.

At that very moment, at a famous satellite ground station on Earth, a group of people stood up in astonishment, coffee splattering across their screens, nearly popping their eyes out.

As the satellite swept by, Ye Fan calmly walked on the Moon, eliciting gasps from some on Earth, who then froze in shock.

“God, what did I just see? Is that Satan traveling, or has a god descended?” These exclamations erupted in several places, eventually being classified as top-secret national information, causing a localized panic.

Ye Fan continued walking, searching for ancient traces. Unfortunately, even with his powerful divine consciousness spread out, he found nothing. The so-called Guanghan Palace was invisible, no longer existing in the world.

There was nothing on the Moon, apart from that rock formation with the sword mark; he found no other items related to cultivators.

“Just because I can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there. The remnants of Lunar Holy Power are enough to explain everything.”

Ye Fan felt a sense of relief; he didn’t need to find every single answer. He traversed most of the Moon, arriving on the other side, where he saw a collection of metal structures.

It was a base built on the Moon. Twenty-odd years had passed, and with current human technology, this was no longer an issue. If Mars hadn’t been so peculiar, there would have been human space stations there long ago.

Ye Fan walked closer and observed carefully. This collection of metal structures covered a wide area, even featuring a green space with vegetation, clearly for experimental purposes.

As he observed, the people inside the space station also noticed him, nearly falling to the ground in shock, dumbfounded and utterly stunned.

Fortunately, Ye Fan didn’t linger. He vanished instantly, shooting off the Moon and traversing towards Earth, leaving only one Profound Jade Platform in space.

The Moon is nearly 400,000 kilometers from Earth. Ye Fan traversed through space, and after entering Earth’s dense atmosphere, he revealed his true form, descending under his own power.

“Earth is indeed very strange!”

Ye Fan immediately felt a strange sensation, followed by deep awe; he had sensed something extraordinary.

The wind howled like a blade’s wail in his ears, cutting his skin painfully. Ye Fan continued his descent, overlooking everything on the surface as the mountains and lands gradually became clear.

The Great Dao of Heaven and Earth was exceedingly peculiar and immensely profound, making it difficult for Ye Fan to grasp. This filled him with both surprise and fear, as a bad premonition surfaced in his mind.

Something incredibly terrifying must have happened on Earth; the entire world of the Great Dao felt incomplete!

Ye Fan descended from amidst the white clouds, the scenery below growing clearer, revealing magnificent mountains and rivers. But his heart sank deeper and deeper.

The spiritual energy of heaven and earth was too sparse, almost negligible. Under such conditions, cultivation would be extremely difficult, and he immediately understood why there were no cultivators to be seen now.

Yet, this was not the most terrifying thing. What truly filled him with dread was that his cultivation seemed to be rapidly diminishing, his magic power severely receding, giving him the illusion that his “Dao was dissipating.”

Why was this happening? This was a major event that would horrify any cultivator; even Ye Fan felt his hair stand on end!

Should he still return to Earth? Would he simply become a cripple? His heart trembled violently.

“No, it’s not an issue with me, but rather the doing of heaven and earth.” After his cultivation and magic power seemingly decreased, they finally stabilized.

Fortunately, he could still fly. If it continued, he might become a free-falling object. For a dignified Human Saint Body, with one foot already past the Dao Slaying barrier, to die by falling would be quite a spectacle.

“My cultivation and realm haven’t actually diminished; they’re merely suppressed by this heaven and earth. This… this is the legendary Age of Dharma Decline, where the Dao cannot be perceived!”

In a fleeting glimpse, Ye Fan’s heart was shaken. In that instant of being suppressed by heaven and earth, he saw towering peaks piercing through the clouds, tens of thousands of feet high!

This was utterly incredible.

“How is this possible? There can’t be such massive mountains on Earth…” Before he could finish, the vision vanished, revealing only low hills below. It had all been an illusion.

This left him in a state of bewilderment and uncertainty.

“Clang!”

Within his Sea of Suffering, two pieces of green copper lightly trembled. Upon arriving at Earth, they had immediately reacted, as if foretelling something.

Ye Fan stabilized himself and observed the sky for a long time, but the previous sensation was gone. Below, he saw skyscrapers, row upon row, soaring into the sky.

He did not continue to descend but began to traverse the sky instead. He was already nearing the coast, and soon entered the airspace above the ocean. In this uninhabited area, he couldn’t help but let out a loud roar, freely venting his emotions.

“I’m back!”

“Boom!”

Shrouded in a myriad of lights, he freely descended from the heavens, plunging into the ocean, stirring up monstrous waves that surged into the distance.

On that day, residents of a certain country in that sea region were terrified, mistaking it for an earthquake and tsunami. At the same time, they suspected that the nuclear power plant tragedy of two decades ago was unfolding once more.

This truly was an Age of Dharma Decline. In this heaven and earth, Ye Fan’s cultivation had not actually diminished, but the power he could exert had dropped significantly.

“No wonder… ever since the Qi Refiners of the Pre-Qin era, there have been no more cultivators in the world. They all fled. What exactly happened on Earth?”

Ye Fan’s heart was filled with endless questions. The depletion of primal energy was one thing, but how could cultivators survive when even the Great Dao couldn’t be perceived?

“The Qi Refiners of the Pre-Qin era, and those powerful ancient legacies… I wonder if they left anything behind. Perhaps I can still find some immortal caves,” Ye Fan murmured to himself. Thinking of these, his heart burned with eagerness; there were simply too many places waiting for him to explore.

He walked on the sea surface at an extremely fast pace. Gazing at the boundless ocean, he felt a slight urge: could there be a Dragon Palace of the East Sea or something similar?

However, nothing was more important than his parents right now. Everything else was secondary. He transformed into a streak of light and sped towards the city where he used to live.

For all these years, he had diligently cultivated, yearning to return every moment. After countless trials and brushes with death, he finally ascended the five-colored altar, resolutely abandoning everything in the Big Dipper. Now, he truly feared that all his efforts might be in vain.

Ye Fan had been away for over two decades. Now, upon his return, he felt a wave of unease as he looked at the cities along his path, each one having become so unfamiliar.

Time had flown by. He was finally back, but would he still be able to see his parents? Would all his efforts have been for naught? At this moment, he was filled with immense apprehension and fear.

In the mortal world, time was the most terrifying force; it could erase everything, change everything, something even ancient Great Emperors could not reverse.
