Chapter 682: Nine Dragons Pulling the Coffin Set Sail Again

The Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land had been silent for hundreds of thousands, even millions of years. On normal days, it was utterly quiet, not a sound could be heard.

However, today, a magnificent fluctuation emanated from within, as if a deity was awakening, causing all the trees to tremble and the mountains to shake.

Outside, at the edge of the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, Ye Fan and the others could clearly sense it. Even those who arrived later couldn't help but feel terrified, suppressed and falling from high in the sky.

Deep within the Forbidden Land, beneath the endless abyss, something was indeed emerging. A part of it had just appeared, but then it sank back down. Many people had caught a glimpse of it.

Some living fossil-level figures, who had cultivated the Heavenly Eye, used their supreme power to imprint the sight they witnessed into the void, making it visible to everyone.

Nine enormous dragon corpses, glistening with dark light and covered in chilling scales, like nine steel Great Walls, pulled a massive bronze coffin that quietly hung above the Archaic Abyss.

"Heavens, are those nine true dragons? How can such things exist?!" Those who arrived later were dumbfounded, almost speechless.

"This... incredible, am I dreaming?!"

"Dragons, those are legendary dragons! They don't look like Flood Dragons. How can such things be in this world?!"

People could hardly believe their eyes. Outside the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, a commotion erupted; everyone who arrived gaped and could only gasp in shock.

Everyone was stunned. This was hard to believe; since ancient times, immortals had only been heard of, never seen, yet now there were nine immortal beings before their eyes.

This was groundbreaking, beyond common sense, and unbelievable. Apart from shock, they had no other emotions; they were all incredibly excited, some almost trembling.

"I don't believe it, how could we suddenly see nine dragons?!" As people slowly calmed down, they began to question if what they saw was real.

"Actually, they might not be true dragons. Perhaps they are nine Flood Dragons that have reached an extremely profound level of cultivation, making them resemble true dragons," a living fossil offered the most reasonable conjecture.

"That's right, they could be extremely powerful Flood Dragons." After careful consideration, people felt relieved.

Old Daoist Red Dragon was not far away, his eyes gleaming with two crimson rays as he continuously stared into the depths of the Forbidden Land, appearing very excited.

As a member of the Flood Dragon race, seeing such supreme experts from his own kind naturally filled him with heartfelt shock. Had it not been for facing a Life Forbidden Zone, he would have long since rushed in.

Seeing Old Daoist Red Dragon present, some immediately sought his counsel, including several Holy Lords. They were eager for answers, or they would never find peace in this life.

"This humble Daoist cannot say for sure, but one thing is certain: even if they are Flood Dragons, they are at least comparable to ancient Saints. Otherwise, such a sight would be impossible."

As soon as Old Daoist Red Dragon finished speaking, a clamor erupted outside the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land. This was truly astonishing; even with some mental preparation, people still felt profoundly shocked.

Nine Flood Dragons reaching the Saint level, appearing all at once, was simply unbelievable, making people want to slap themselves to check if they were dreaming.

In the current era, there were only two Saints: the Victorious Fighting Buddha on Mount Sumeru and the Old Madman of the Eastern Wasteland. And now, nine had appeared all at once?

"They have been dead for countless ages; all life force has long since vanished. They must be corpses from before the Archaic era," a living fossil said.

People's hearts eased. Nine living Saints would be enough to scare people to death; only in ancient times could nine Saints possibly appear in a single era.

However, after thinking carefully, people still felt a chill. In the most glorious eras of the past, there indeed had been times when more than nine Saints appeared concurrently. However, it was impossible for them all to be from the same race; some were ancient Saints of the Demon Race, others were supreme Saints of the Human Race.

Yet, the nine Flood Dragons seen before them were all from the same race. This was too astonishing, almost impossible.

"Our world has never seen such a grand era. While all races combined—the Sky-Peng Race, Flood Dragon Race, Divine Ape Race, Ancient Phoenix Race, Human Race, and others—might have produced more than nine Saints concurrently in ancient times, it's impossible for them all to have originated from a single race!" the Holy Lord of the Feng Clan stated with certainty. He was very knowledgeable about ancient times, as detailed records existed in the Holy Land's archives.

"So, these aren't Flood Dragons from our world?"

"Look at that bronze coffin..."

It was only then that people's attention returned to the bronze coffin, as the sudden appearance of the nine dragons had truly startled them.

"That small bronze coffin flew into the giant sarcophagus, so does that mean these nine dragons are specifically for pulling coffins!?"

It felt as if a mountain was collapsing in people's hearts. This was too terrifying, never before heard of; such a grand display was simply immense.

"The small coffin originating from within the giant sarcophagus – no wonder it could withstand the Ancient Void Mirror!"

"That's it! If there's a corpse in the coffin, it must be an ancient Great Emperor, worthy of nine dragons pulling their coffin!"

People were inexplicably shocked by the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin and found it hard to dispel the confusion in their minds.

During this process, people from the Ji Family, Yaoguang, Jiang Clan, and other Holy Lands were somewhat silent, because they had already known some things, though they couldn't fully comprehend them.

Back then, not long after the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin plunged into the Southern Wasteland, they had learned part of the situation. As Holy Lands, their foundations were unfathomable.

"Everything you've said is mere conjecture. No one can truly say what's happening, and the rank of those nine dragons is also impossible to determine," a living fossil stated.

The nine enormous dragon corpses, as if cast from dark gold, powerful and imposing, lay sprawled in the void. Behind them, the bronze coffin, mottled with rust, remained motionless.

Back then, they had lain across the cold and dark cosmos, then plummeted into the Fengchan Site on Mount Tai, and now they were moving again!

Ye Fan and Pang Bo exchanged glances, their hearts utterly unable to calm down. They felt a mix of anticipation and fear.

From the immense abyss below, radiant light, in five distinct colors, shot up intermittently, illuminating the nine dragon corpses and the giant coffin, making them translucent. It was incredibly mysterious and majestic.

"Boom!"

Suddenly, an even more magnificent wave burst forth, chilling many people to the bone. Some weaker individuals tumbled off the cliff, and many others fell from high in the sky.

"What is that?" someone cried out.

A dazzling radiance rose from beneath the Archaic Abyss, brilliant and captivating, filled with shimmering light, as if a world of immortal palaces was about to appear, inspiring flights of fancy.

"Legends have long spoken of supreme treasures and the secret to immortality beneath the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land. Back then, the Tianshuan Holy Land borrowed the power of the stars and attacked with the full strength of their sect, but they all turned to ashes."

"It's said there's something here that even ancient Great Emperors coveted. It must be about to emerge."

Amidst the exclamations of the crowd, five colors shot skyward as an ancient altar slowly ascended. Its imposing aura surpassed even that of an immortal palace.

Ye Fan was greatly astonished, his heart pounding violently. This fragmented ancient platform from the Archaic Abyss had actually floated up. This was of immense importance; it was the key to traversing starfields!

Now, it was no longer dim and lifeless, but dazzlingly bright, emitting countless auspicious rays. Five colors obscured the sky, engulfing the area above the abyss in a splendid display.

It was divine power flowing from that bronze coffin!

People noticed a patch of primordial light spilled down, falling onto the five-colored altar, making it even more dazzling as it slowly ascended.

The emergence of the ancient altar, which had been sealed for an unknown number of ages, left many people almost petrified. They all found it incredible that such a thing existed beneath the Archaic Abyss; apart from a few ancient inheritances, this was the first time anyone else had known about it.

"It's it, the same as what we saw on Mount Tai!" Pang Bo exclaimed, excited.

The ancient altar, though slow, was continuously ascending. The Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin hovered above it, and the two slowly drew closer.

"What is it doing?"

"How can this be? What will happen to the nine dragons and the ancient coffin?"

People did not know the function of the five-colored altar and watched with a mix of tension and astonishment.

The ancient altar finally rose to a certain height and stopped moving, while the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin actually descended from above, landing on it, appearing eerie and mysterious.

Five-colored divine light shot skyward. It was an incredibly magnificent sight; every heart throbbed. To use nine dragons as mounts for a corpse after death – what incredible grandeur!

"Damn it, a five-colored altar! At the very least, this is the work of a Great Emperor. It looks very similar to what we saw in front of the Myriad Dragon Nest!" the big black dog mumbled.

"Boom!"

On the five-colored altar, myriad runes flashed like heavenly markings, flickering incessantly, and imprinting a splendid image.

Finally, all the patterns intertwined, forming a partial Bagua diagram, very blurry.

"What? It's really going to set sail!" Ye Fan's heart jolted, and then he became extremely anxious. He wanted to leave this world, but it was all happening too suddenly.

"Black Sovereign, tell me all the array patterns you know!" he said quickly.

"Even if I tell you, you wouldn't understand. It would take at least several hundred years of study for you to even grasp the basics," Black Sovereign rolled its eyes.

"Can you tell me how to set coordinates?" Ye Fan asked urgently.

"No way, you're not planning to ride along in this Nine Dragons Bronze Coffin carriage, are you? What kind of joke is this? Do you even know where it's going?" Black Sovereign's eyes widened.

"That's right, do you have any way?" Ye Fan asked hurriedly.

"How this five-colored altar was built, or how the supreme divine patterns were carved, I don't know. But for setting coordinates, there is a way. It's all in those symbols, and I'm quite confident about that," Black Sovereign said, pointing to the eight trigram symbols.

"Quick, tell me how to set the coordinates and how to go in reverse!" Ye Fan said rapidly.

"You really want to..." Black Sovereign nearly bit its tongue. It hadn't expected Ye Fan to be serious, truly intending to act.

"Stop talking, just tell me quickly! This is critical, I don't have time to explain in detail!" Ye Fan was truly anxious; this might be his only chance.

The big black dog cursed, utterly perplexed and unwilling, but seeing Ye Fan's desperation and absolute seriousness, it had no choice. It imprinted a spiritual mark deep into his mind, telling him the details he wished to know.

"Boom!"

Deep within the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin shimmered together. The runes on the five-colored altar formed a blurry Bagua; though indistinct, it was about to pierce through the void.

"Ye Fan..." Pang Bo's voice trembled, very unsettled.

"Let's go, we have to take a chance," Ye Fan said loudly.

"Little Ye Zi, where are you going?" Ji Ziyue asked, filled with worry, unable to resist stepping forward, her large eyes fixed quietly on him.

"I..." Ye Fan was speechless.

"Ye Zi, I've found that I've grown accustomed to this life. Leaving suddenly, I feel a bit reluctant," Pang Bo hesitated.

"There's no time left! Make a decision quickly, or it'll be too late to leave!" Ye Fan said anxiously.

"I... I'm not going!" Pang Bo suddenly made up his mind. "But I will definitely return someday. Since this world has such a path, I believe that by cultivating to the pinnacle, I can traverse the starry sky. When that time comes, I will go home."

"You..." Ye Fan hadn't expected him to make such a choice, but he didn't force him.

"Ye Zi, you cultivate diligently when you return, and I will also strive here. We'll work together to connect our two places. I believe that as long as our cultivation is strong enough, we can definitely traverse starfields." Pang Bo paused, then added, "When that time comes, Ziyue and Nannan can both come to see you."

"Alright!" Ye Fan accepted his decision.

Moreover, he himself wasn't confident and didn't want Pang Bo to risk his life traversing with him. Because no one knew what lay ahead; even if he took this risk, he wasn't guaranteed to return, he just wanted to take a chance.

Ye Fan turned around, looking at his many acquaintances. His heart was also filled with reluctance; after all, he had lived in this world for ten years, and suddenly having to leave, he felt incredibly lost.

Ji Ziyue's large eyes were misty and tear-filled. Intelligent as she was, she naturally understood everything, knowing that Ye Fan was going on a distant journey, with distances measured in vast starfields.

"Little Ye Zi..." she whispered softly. Tears rolled down her eyes, each one crystal clear like a diamond, filled with deep sadness.

"Time is too fleeting. I never expected this day to come so suddenly, and there are many things I haven't had time to say. But I want to return to my homeland; I've been away from home for ten years." Ye Fan looked at her, extending a hand to gently wipe away the tears from her face.

"Your homeland is on the other side of the starry sky, very far away. I... I won't be able to see you again," Ji Ziyue's eyes welled with tears as she spoke softly, staring at Ye Fan without blinking.

Ye Fan wanted to say something, but ultimately couldn't bring himself to speak. What was the point of saying things he couldn't do? Unfulfilled promises only left lingering regret.

"I am on this side of the starry sky, and you are on that side, very, very far apart..." Ji Ziyue said softly, her eyes misty with tears. She continued, "A brilliant eternity, an endless distance... even Saints cannot journey that far. We won't see each other again."

Ye Fan knew nothing of the future. He couldn't fathom the path ahead. Could he return hundreds or thousands of years later? It was too ephemeral.

Ji Ziyue's eyes dimmed as she asked softly, "Years from now, will you still remember this side of the starry sky? Will you still remember my name?"

"I will remember. On this side of the starry sky, there's a beautiful girl named Ziyue. No matter how many years pass, I will never forget you." Ye Fan gently brushed a strand of her hair from her eyes and wiped away the glistening tears.

"I will remember you too." Ji Ziyue smiled through her tears, saying, "At night, I will gaze at the starry sky, looking towards the other side, and send you my blessings. I know you're there."

Ye Fan was silent for a moment, but there was no more time.

Ji Ziyue's smile was radiant, but tears continued to stream down her face. She whispered, "If you remember me, you can also look up at the starry sky. We'll be at opposite ends of the cosmos... gazing at each other."
