Chapter 536: Small World

He’s dead. A living fossil has fallen. After dominating the Eastern Wasteland for three millennia, he met such a dismal end. A legendary figure who once swept across the Eastern Wasteland with no one daring to challenge him has met such a fate just as he was about to pass away.

Many sighed, calling it a tragedy that a peerless grand figure, after a glorious life, met a violent death in his later years. No matter how great a hero one is, all must return to the earth. Yet, to depart in such a manner still evoked a sense of pity.

“Senior Brother…” The Yaochi Holy Lord grieved, his heart filled with immense rage. Holy light surged from his body, and 108 divine rings obscured the sun.

“Holy Lord, please accept our condolences.” The Yaochi Holy Son stepped forward, offering a deep bow and words of consolation.

When Yaochi Holy Lord Li Daoqing saw him, a glimmer of light appeared in his dim eyes. He said, “In the future, you must slay the Scarlet Dragon.”

“In this world, right or wrong, the dead often evoke sympathy and remembrance. You had little time left, yet you tried to kill me. I cannot pity you.” The Scarlet Dragon Daoist’s expression was calm, even a little cold, as he stared at the shattered bloodstains. He then coughed up another mouthful of blood.

A terrifying figure of living fossil level, though the battle wasn't overly intense, life or death could be decided in a single move, making it even more perilous. The old Scarlet Dragon Daoist also suffered severe injuries in the life-and-death duel; his form nearly split apart. However, this wouldn't damage his foundation. He drank from a divine spring, and scarlet mist enveloped his body. His wounds stopped bleeding, broken bones regenerated, and his essence quickly recovered.

He stood in the ancient battlefield, his old Daoist robe fluttering. Every opponent felt immense trepidation, and no one dared to step forward for a while. The Scarlet Dragon Daoist was too terrifying; his peerless demonic might suppressed all the heroes. No one dared to casually enter the arena; a single palm strike from this living fossil would undoubtedly lead to complete annihilation of body and spirit.

“Heh heh…” Wang Yangzhan, the Supreme Old Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect, chuckled mirthlessly as he looked at the martial arts arena. “Scarlet Dragon, you are truly formidable,” he said, “but was it worth acting like this over a junior?”

At this point, everyone knew that Ye Fan’s matter was merely a trigger; the two sides had held grudges for a long time, and this was just the opportune moment for them to erupt.

“Wang Yangzhan, if you disagree, then step forward and fight.” The Scarlet Dragon Daoist wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.

“Scarlet Dragon, do you truly believe yourself invincible? Bullying the weak will only lead to your own demise.” The Old Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect glanced indifferently at Ye Fan, then fixed his gaze on the Scarlet Dragon. He said, “This child conspired against many heroes and should be slain here. If you protect him, do you intend to be an enemy of the world?”

“Do you represent the world?” The old Scarlet Dragon Daoist’s lips curved into a cold smile. He said, “If you disagree, come in and let’s settle this with a fight to the death!”

The Supreme Old Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect sneered. “Very well, let me test your peerless martial arts that claim to be unrivaled.” He strode forward unhurriedly into the martial arts arena. Behind him, a Yin-Yang diagram rotated, making him appear profound and unfathomable. Everyone was astonished; another living fossil had made a move. This old patriarch from Central Continent was highly renowned, over three thousand years old, and also nearing the end of his life.

“Wang Yangzhan, you are just as you’ve always been.” The Raven Daoist spoke, stepping into the ancient battlefield stride by stride. He said, “Do you intend to take advantage of Senior Brother Scarlet Dragon’s severe injuries and claim his life?”

“He himself wanted me to make a move!” Wang Yangzhan smiled faintly, turning to face the Raven Daoist.

“Senior Brother Scarlet Dragon, go rest. You just fought Wang Zheng to the death and need to recover. I will fight him.” The Raven Daoist said.

“Raven, what is the meaning of this? Scarlet Dragon and I agreed to a life-and-death battle. Why are you interfering without reason?” Wang Yangzhan’s face darkened as he questioned.

“This Daoist Master is displeased with you and wants to destroy you, is that not allowed?!” The Raven Daoist was arrogant, wearing a purple-gold crown, and his black-feathered Daoist robe shimmered with an eerie light. Outside the ancient battlefield, everyone was astonished. This peerless demon was indeed formidable, speaking without restraint, truly a living fossil capable of sweeping across the Eastern Wasteland.

“Let me do it instead,” the old Scarlet Dragon Daoist said.

“No, I just can’t stand him; I must fight him.” The Raven Daoist insisted.

The Scarlet Dragon Daoist laughed heartily, saying nothing more. He turned and walked away, disappearing from the martial arts arena in a few flashes. The Supreme Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect’s expression flickered. He transmitted his voice, “Scarlet Dragon, I wanted to settle our grievances with you, but you’ve retreated. What is the meaning of this?”

“You settle your grievances with the Raven first. I’ll fight you once my injuries have fully recovered,” the old Scarlet Dragon Daoist replied, entirely unconcerned.

Outside the martial arts arena, everyone watched with interest. Now, two more living fossils faced off, and the continuous major battles filled many with anticipation.

“Wang Yangzhan, I heard that the Saint Son and Saintess of your Yin-Yang Sect were both slain. Is that true?” The Raven Daoist brought up a sore point.

Wang Yangzhan snorted coldly, giving no reply. His eyes were filled with indifference.

“A few days ago, your chosen successor, the Vice Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect, died in the Myriad Dragon Nest. That must be true, right?” The Raven Daoist mocked.

“Raven, you talk too much!” The Old Patriarch of the Yin-Yang Sect said coldly.

“Too many words? I was just asking. Your judgment truly isn’t great; all the people you chose are dead. You’re quite an unqualified Patriarch,” the Raven Daoist laughed.

“Enough nonsense! Let me see how your cultivation has progressed after not seeing you for over a thousand years!” Wang Yangzhan roared coldly, and an ancient mirror appeared above his head.

“A divine artifact left by an ancient sage—the Yin-Yang Mirror!” someone exclaimed.

“No, that ancient mirror is their sect’s supreme treasure; it couldn’t possibly be carried around. This is a replica, but its power is still immense,” someone discerned the truth.

“Clang!” A precious bell appeared above the Raven Daoist’s head. It was crystalline and flawless, as white as mutton-fat jade, radiating a brilliant glow and emitting a prolonged bell sound.

“This is a rare divine iron! Just adding a bit of it to Holy Lord-level weapons would suffice, but this entire bell is forged from such divine material!” Everyone was astonished.

“Let’s also decide life or death in one strike. We don’t have that much vitality to waste,” the Raven Daoist chuckled, secretly taking several large gulps from a divine spring.

The Old Holy Lord of the Yin-Yang Sect nodded indifferently, but secretly swallowed three holy medicines, each containing a sea-like essence of life. The ancient Yin-Yang Mirror, crimson like blood on its front and black as ink on its back, pulsed with Yin and Yang energies, hovering above his head.

“Boom!” The two attacked simultaneously. From the front of the Yin-Yang Mirror, a crimson glow shot out, turning the entire ancient battlefield red, shrouded in chaotic mist.

“Splitting heaven and earth! This mirror is truly terrifying!” Everyone exclaimed. The Yin-Yang Mirror manifested a small crimson world, hazy with chaos, aiming to trap the Raven Daoist within and refine him into putrid blood.

“Clang…” A prolonged bell sound echoed through Yaochi. The pristine jade-like precious bell emitted sound waves like a tsunami, causing the sky to collapse and the earth to split, destroying everything. This was a fierce collision. The crimson glow and the bell waves resonated, filling the space between them with an aura of creation and destruction, causing all observers to gasp in shock.

“Puff,” “Puff.” Both living fossils vomited mouthfuls of blood, and a crack appeared on their foreheads. They were both severely wounded, almost cleaved apart by their opponent.

“Bang!” The Raven Daoist escaped from the crimson mini-world, not trapped within. And the Yin-Yang Patriarch retreated ten thousand feet, not pulverized by the bell waves.

After the life-and-death strike, both disappeared into thin air, traversing the void, then attacked again without warning.

“Whoosh!” The back of the ancient Yin-Yang Mirror, black as ink, opened a deep abyss. The power of death surged forth, sweeping towards the Raven Daoist.

“Thump!” The pristine precious bell descended like a tower, intending to absorb the Yin-Yang Patriarch. Its walls were covered with engraved incantations, shimmering with dazzling light.

“Boom!” The two collided violently, like surging floods. The ancient mirror was shaken away, and the precious bell dulled. It was another even match, and both men spewed blood.

“These two living fossils both claimed to decide life or death in one strike, yet their vitality is so vigorous, still having strength to fight after exerting their utmost.”

“Clang!” With a violent shock, the ancient mirror merged with Wang Yangzhan’s evolved Yin-Yang diagram, becoming a tangible Great Dao that gave birth to a Yin-Yang world!

“The Yin-Yang Cycle of Life and Death Realm!” Many Holy Lord-level figures trembled in fear. This old patriarch was too terrifying, displaying legendary techniques.

“Caw!” The Raven Daoist let out a crow’s cry. Golden light shone brightly from his glabella, and a three-legged Golden Crow actually rushed out, merging with the divine bell. Thousands of incantations covered it, every ancient character coming to life, revealing a divine bell world. One could clearly see giants roaming the ancient land, wild dragons emerging, and three-legged Golden Crows streaking across the sky, incomparably powerful.

“Boom!” The divine bell rang, and the primeval world contained within it trembled. Ten Golden Crows streaked across the sky, ravaging the vast world. A violent collision occurred as the primeval world within the divine bell fiercely contended with the Dao power manifested by the Yin-Yang Mirror! Eternal light engulfed the ancient battlefield. The primordial great world and the Yin-Yang Cycle of Life and Death Realm swallowed each other. Endless black holes linked together, and fractured Dao imprints were scattered in the void. Between the two living fossils, nothing remained.

Everyone was horrified. Such a duel was truly terrifying; even a Holy Lord would perish and turn into pulp if they entered. “These are living fossils! Though they are about to pass away, in these final moments, they still look down upon the Eastern Wasteland with no match in sight!”

“Thud.” The Yin-Yang Patriarch fell out, disheveled, covered in blood, his body nearly shattered, with white bone fragments exposed in many places.

“Thud.” On the other side, the Raven Daoist was no better. Black feathers scattered everywhere, his body riddled with cracks and stained with blood.

“Gentlemen, let’s call it a draw and cease fighting.” The Yaochi Queen Mother said.

The Scarlet Dragon, Azure Dragon King, and Yin-Yang Sect disciples rushed into the martial arts arena one after another, each protecting a living fossil and separating the two combatants.

“Very well, a draw it is!” The Yin-Yang Patriarch nodded.

The Raven Daoist took a big gulp from a divine spring and shamelessly cried out, “I haven’t had enough yet!” A fragrance wafted out, and everyone smelled it, naturally recognizing it as precious life fluid. They were all rendered speechless.

“Humph!” The Yin-Yang Patriarch snorted in anger, striding out of the arena and leaving the battlefield.

“Wang Yangzhan, are you scared? I think we could still fight three hundred more rounds! Let’s have another match,” the Raven Daoist casually called out.

At this point, the battle had concluded and could not continue. Everyone retreated from the ancient battlefield. For a moment, silence fell upon the crowd. With several living fossils having already made a move, who would dare to enter now?

Ye Fan’s heart skipped a beat. The old Scarlet Dragon Daoist and the Raven Daoist were both injured, but it seemed there were still one or two living fossils among the various holy lands! However, he wasn't too worried. If pushed, he would summon the Primordial Sage; at worst, it would break the heavens!

At this moment, the Azure Dragon King, one of the Thirteen Great Bandits, stepped forward. He said nothing, holding a jar in his hand as he scanned the crowd. Many felt the urge to curse; it was Tu Tian’s Sky-Devouring Demonic Jar. He had borrowed it, and with this artifact in hand, who would dare provoke him?

“Let’s end it here. You are all heroes of this world; your demise would be a loss to the entire Eastern Wasteland,” the Yaochi Queen Mother mediated. By now, truly few were willing to continue fighting. They were mutually apprehensive; a half-Imperial Sacred Weapon and the presence of living fossils were all uncertain factors. Of course, what was even more unsettling was that Yan Ruyu was still present. If the Azure Emperor’s Sacred Weapon were to be summoned, it would truly be a catastrophic disaster.

“Then let’s slay this child,” the Yin-Yang Patriarch said.

“Slay your mother’s head!” Ye Fan had long found this old man displeasing. He swore, cursing someone like this for the first time, and cast a provocative gaze.

“You…” The enraged people of the Yin-Yang Sect all pressed forward.

“Reporting, Queen Mother…” Over a dozen beautiful women from Yaochi flew from the pure land, arriving outside the martial arts arena in the clouds.

“What has happened?” the Yaochi Queen Mother asked calmly.

“Primordial beings have arrived!” A beautiful woman in white spoke, delivering earth-shattering news.

“What?!” Everyone exclaimed, utterly shocked.

“Judging by their appearance, they are indeed primordial beings, without a doubt. They claim to be from the Primordial Beginning Restricted Zone and wish to enter Yaochi,” the female disciple replied.

Everyone was unable to remain calm, a great commotion arose, and no one was not alarmed.

Second chapter complete. Going to take a shower, then work hard on the third chapter.
