Heaven's Gate opened, revealing a vast world!
Was that the Immortal Realm? Mountains stretched boundlessly, reaching as high as the sky, with divine vines and immortal trees growing, exuding an ancient, weathered aura, as if they had existed for millions of years.
But why was there a pervasive layer of mist, making it seem so distant?
People desperately wanted to see through it, but it was too illusory and indistinct to be clearly perceived.
“Boom!”
A torrent of fiery light poured forth, like countless divine blossoms unfurling, brilliant and intense, illuminating the ages and spanning the entire ancient history of living beings.
“Is this truly the Immortal Realm?”
At that instant, even the voices of ancient Supremes trembled. After lying dormant for a million years, had they finally beheld the Immortal Realm? It filled them with both surprise and apprehension, feeling utterly surreal.
“Is this the Immortal Realm, the place we’ve always dreamed of entering?” asked the Myriad Dragon Emperor.
Even Supremes had once been young, their vitality as boundless as the sea, much like Ye Fan. They had stood at the zenith of their eras, revered by all, brimming with heroic spirit, and looking down upon the nine heavens and ten lands.
They had dreams, passion, and grand ambitions, but all of it had eventually been eroded on the path to immortality. For this, they had abandoned and let go of too much.
Relatives, friends, and beloveds—one by one, they had departed, turning to dust. Only the Supremes themselves, resorting to any means necessary to survive, had lived on with immense difficulty, enduring endless torment.
And for what? Only for this moment: to ascend to the Immortal Realm and truly become immortal!
Now that the time had come, and their dreams were within reach, why were their eyes blurred? Tears streamed down.
“My daughter!” the Myriad Dragon Emperor let out a heart-rending roar. He gazed at the Immortal Realm, then suddenly fixed his eyes on Ye Fan, emanating monstrous killing intent.
To achieve immortality, he had abandoned everything, even sleeping through the death of his own dragon daughter, accumulating power in unwitting oblivion. Now, looking back, he felt endless agony.
“Hahahahaha…” the White Tiger Daoist laughed, almost hysterically, his snow-white hair like tangled straw. In the end, tears streamed down his face as he laughed.
How many old comrades, how many companions, had once fought alongside him, risking their lives? In the end, he had succeeded, but those closest to him had long since turned to dust, lying on the path of the departed.
He had reached the pinnacle, but there was no one left to share this magnificent scenery with him.
“At this moment, why does my heart feel so hollow, even a little painful!” another Supreme sighed desolately.
Though clearly standing at the most glorious peak, the people of yesteryear were gone. He stood alone and independent, bereft of familial affection, friendship, or love, with only a few adversaries remaining.
“Is the most important thing truly just the journey? When a wish is fulfilled, only eternal solitude remains. I am unwilling! I long to share this glory with you. Can time turn back? I want to bring you here, to step into the Immortal Realm with me…”
“Thump!”
A dull, thunder-like sound startled everyone. The Immortal Ascension Cauldron flew up, attempting to charge into the Immortal Realm, but it suffered a heavy blow. Immortal Dao runes flickered at the entrance.
“Huh, what just happened?” Several individuals were taken aback.
The Immortal Ascension Cauldron was jammed in front of Heaven’s Gate, unable to move forward or backward. It shook violently, as runes, one after another, began to imprint themselves upon it, attempting to alter all the original divine chains of law within its walls.
“Is this the baptism of the Immortal Ascension Vessel? Stop it!” several Supremes roared.
This was the path to immortality! Endless light rain poured into the green bronze cauldron, making it appear increasingly sacred. Many runes imprinted themselves on the cauldron's walls, intending to transform and elevate it.
Several Supremes charged forward, intending to prevent all of this. The slots for immortality were limited, and if the green bronze cauldron occupied a position, their hopes would diminish.
At this moment, Ye Fan was no longer their primary enemy!
Blinding light surged forth, striking the cauldron. The Supremes, joining forces, sought to shatter it.
Ye Fan, of course, would not stand idly by. Even disregarding other reasons, he simply couldn't watch, given his connection to the divine infant. He unleashed forbidden secret arts, attacking the Supremes.
The area instantly descended into chaos as a fierce melee erupted. Divine arts soared and laws densely permeated, intertwining one after another to form a brilliant net of light.
“Am I destined to become an artifact? I don’t want to enter like this! Help me break free!” Suddenly, a divine thought emanated from the Immortal Ascension Cauldron, reaching directly into Ye Fan’s heart.
At this critical moment, the will within the green bronze cauldron surged with unwillingness and defiance. It yearned to transcend, refusing to remain merely a weapon.
The green bronze cauldron was struck out by the Supremes, unable to remain in place for long.
“Roar…”
A White Tiger darted past, entering Heaven’s Gate and taking the place of the green bronze cauldron. The same thing happened: it became stuck there, Immortal Dao runes flickering and sinking into its flesh.
“Ah!”
This was an agonizing pain, as if his original Great Dao was being ground away, with the order of another realm attempting to take its place. But how could an Emperor’s Dao be extinguished so easily? A fierce struggle ensued.
The White Tiger Daoist’s flesh burst open, and runes flickered across his body. He nearly disintegrated on the spot. This was a horrifyingly painful metamorphosis, akin to being shattered and then reassembled.
Endless light rain surged forth, flowing into the White Tiger’s body and also penetrating the flesh of Ye Fan and the other Supremes, pure and sacred.
Ye Fan had an epiphany. Just as he had pondered when establishing his own Dao, when one breaks free from the original universe, everything ceases to exist. Would the former laws and Daos still hold true? Now, it was confirmed: everything would be obliterated!
This was a terrifying tribulation, and no one knew if the transformation would succeed.
“Rumble!”
The Beast God, the Supreme from Blood Phoenix Mountain, and the Myriad Dragon Emperor all acted in unison, not wanting the White Tiger to achieve immortality. They unleashed their most devastating attacks.
“Pfft!”
The colossal White Tiger shattered, covered in blood, then hurtled back, reassembling its body in the distance, filled with hatred and fury.
Being interrupted like this left him both furious and helpless. He couldn’t change the fact that transformation required time, but no one was giving him the opportunity.
And so, the Myriad Dragon Emperor, along with the Supreme from Blood Phoenix Mountain who had transformed into the Phoenix-winged Golden Rivet, also entered Heaven’s Gate one after another. However, all of them were subsequently struck out by others.
Entering for transformation was a process that required time, and there was no way around it. No one wanted others to achieve immortality before them, so the Supremes remained stuck at Heaven’s Gate.
Only Ye Fan did not attempt to enter, remaining with the Immortal Ascension Cauldron. He hoped to find another way to break through, as he did not wish to achieve immortality alone; he had too many attachments in this world.
As for the other Supremes, they had long since abandoned everything. Their sole goal in this life was to enter the Immortal Realm themselves!
“I suspect this baptism will bring unpredictable changes,” the Beast God frowned. “After all, it aims to obliterate our Imperial Dao marks. If anything goes wrong, a lifetime of cultivation will be for naught.”
“Hmm, I suggest we let one person go in first,” the White Tiger Daoist said, his gaze fixed on Ye Fan. “We’ll observe what changes happen to him, and then forcefully stop him.”
The others immediately understood his intent: to use Ye Fan as a test subject. For safety’s sake, they absolutely had to proceed this way.
Ye Fan was a powerful cultivator of their level, destined to be a threat. Sacrificing him to Heaven’s Gate might be the best option. The four Supremes surrounded him.
“You think you can keep me just because you wish to?” Ye Fan sneered, holding the Immortal Ascension Cauldron. With each step spanning millions of miles, he vanished into the distance.
Then, he took another step, vanishing without a backward glance, intending to break out of the Immortal Path and re-enter the original vast universe, abandoning everything in this place.
The Supremes stared in stunned silence, then exchanged glances.
“Chase him! Leaving him behind will surely be a disaster,” one said. “Besides, I truly believe we must use an Imperial Dao expert as a test subject to feel at ease. Otherwise, I’ll always be uneasy.”
“That makes sense,” another agreed. “If our Imperial Dao foundations are obliterated, and we still fail to become immortal, wouldn’t that be the most ridiculous and tragic outcome?”
A great tremor shook the Immortal Path as everyone burst forth, jointly pursuing Ye Fan. The chase was incredibly fierce, divine light illuminating the sea of stars.
Within the Mortal Realm, everyone was shaken and stunned. What had happened? The Supremes had clearly entered the Immortal Path, so why were they now fighting their way back out?
Could it be… that another dark turmoil had begun!
At the thought of this possibility, everyone’s faces went pale, devoid of any color. If this were true, it would truly be a world-ending war.
A brutal battle raged, imperial blood staining the starry sky.
“Ye Fan, can you escape?” the Beast God shouted. “The universe is vast, but there is no place for you to hide! Come and tread the Immortal Path with us as soon as possible!”
The world, however, did not understand why they spoke this way. Achieving immortality was a good thing, so why would Ye Fan, the Sacred Body, retreat and cause several ancient Supremes to pursue him? There had to be a great secret.
“Kill!”
The Supremes pursued him with bloody intent. Ye Fan, utilizing the Traveling Character Secret Art, tore through star rivers and was about to vanish in an instant; even the ancient Supremes couldn’t match his speed.
“Do you think you can simply leave?!” The White Tiger Daoist sat down cross-legged and began to deduce.
The Myriad Dragon Emperor’s eyes were cold and merciless. He said, “He can escape, and he’s hard to catch. But he still has family and friends. We’ll capture them and kill them one by one. Let’s see if he turns back then.”
His cruel words were cold enough to freeze the universe. They weren’t merely empty threats; they actually sat down together, performing a joint deduction. Runes, one after another, flew up, illuminating the universe with terrifying brilliance.
“Hmm?”
Ye Fan was startled. The combined efforts of the four Supremes cast a shadow over his heart. He rapidly flew towards a certain region.
“I sense he has left some imprints in this universe, creating certain chaotic realms, but they are very well hidden.”
“We’ve found one! Let’s pinpoint its location together; we can find it!”
Ye Fan stood beneath the starry sky, observing closely, prepared for a battle to the death.
“Boom!”
Suddenly, a chaotic world exploded. Flesh and blood flew everywhere, and countless beings were killed or injured as several Supremes, like demon kings, shattered the very fabric of that space.
The Black Emperor, Dongfang Ye, Little Zi, and others fell out, all of them shocked and uncertain, then trembling as the overwhelming blood qi of the Supremes pressed down from the heavens.
“You’re seeking death!”
Ye Fan roared, sensing the anomaly. He arrived at the scene instantly and positioned himself in front of everyone.
“Big Brother!” Little Nannan cried out from behind.
No one had expected that the Supremes would pursue them here. A massive crisis had descended…
“It’s my fault!” the Immortal Ascension Cauldron blamed itself. It knew that when it was reforming, the divine infant had been summoned away, leaving a flaw when breaking through this chaotic world. That was why the Supremes had found them.
“Why aren’t you running anymore?” the White Tiger Daoist sneered.
“You killed my daughter, slaughtered my clansmen! Now it’s your turn to face retribution! I will settle this with you and exterminate ten generations of your kin!” the Myriad Dragon Emperor’s voice was chilling. With a soft *thud*, he stomped several nearby heavenly soldiers and generals into a bloody pulp.
With his power, a casual movement could destroy a starfield. He did this intentionally, wantonly displaying his might.
“I don’t offend those who don’t offend me,” Ye Fan roared, standing in their path. “Those I kill have a reason to die. But you? You all act purely for selfish desires, trampling on all living beings just to achieve immortality. I see that in this era, none of you will become immortal; all your dreams will be shattered before Heaven’s Gate, forever denied its entrance!” As he spoke, the Immortal Ascension Cauldron and the Myriad Things Mother Qi Cauldron rapidly took in people, sheltering all his old acquaintances.
