Chapter 1627: Blood and Chaos

Imperial City was immense. Some claimed it was built by the Heavenly Sovereign, while others suggested it was even more ancient, a fact difficult to verify. It was remarkably grand; even Ye Fan, who was accustomed to majestic sights and had traveled far and wide, found himself astonished.

Along the roads, magnificent halls stood one after another, shimmering with various lights. Dense arrays of formations and Dao patterns covered them, giving these structures the appearance of living, breathing entities.

The only incongruous detail was the bloodstains on the walls. Much like the outermost city ramparts, these marks were remnants from a distant age, stained with the divine blood of ancient prodigies, and had never faded.

"That's Ye Fan, the Sacred Body. He doesn't appear particularly remarkable, so how does he possess such astonishing power?"

People stood on both sides of the streets and atop various tall buildings, observing the group of four, all attempting to discern Ye Fan's true strength and current state.

Numerous races had converged here, including colossal, mountain-sized beasts, captivating sprites, radiant angels, and malevolent demons from the cosmic abyss.

"Brother, how did you survive?" a giant inquired. Standing ten *zhang* tall, he was incredibly muscular, with tendons like coiled yellow dragons, exuding excessive strength. His voice boomed like a clap of thunder.

Ye Fan smiled. "Heaven simply didn't claim me," he replied.

Many desired to know the hidden circumstances, but Ye Fan could not disclose them. They were left to speculate in secret, a question destined to remain unresolved.

Ahead lay a stone arch bridge, beneath which a river flowed. Mist swirled, various colorful mists danced, and the spiritual energy was astonishingly abundant.

This was Imperial City, an ideal place for cultivation. Countless formations were in constant operation, converting the astral energy of the heavens into vital essence, which was then channeled into the city for the benefit of cultivators.

Any location within the city could serve as a dwelling. Even if a spot was already occupied, one could directly force their way in. Along this path, there was only one rule: survival of the fittest, where the strong reigned supreme.

All eyes were on Ye Fan, their gazes following his every step, wondering where he intended to go. At present, every magnificent building in the city was occupied; forcing entry would inevitably lead to a bloody battle.

Would it be Yin Tiande's residence, or perhaps Yaoguang's place of enlightenment? Many watched in anticipation.

From Ye Fan's fingertips, blood once again welled forth. This time, it materialized as ten divine chains of order, vibrant and dazzling like phoenix feathers. At that moment, he closed his eyes, and the chains on his fingers lifted, pointing towards a specific direction.

He walked forward, guided by his intuition.

To everyone's astonishment, he eventually reached the innermost area, a zone inhabited by the most terrifying adversaries, each of extraordinary origin.

The Divine Venerable, the Great Mighty Sacred Spirit, the Daoist of Nine Tribulations, Yin Tiande, Yaoguang, and more were all in the vicinity!

At the very center lay a massive lake, shrouded in mist. From time to time, it pulsed with chaotic light, emanating a potent spiritual energy that nourished the surrounding halls.

Without a doubt, the structures built around the Chaos Lake were considered the most ideal locations for enlightenment and cultivation.

"Clink, clink!"

From Ye Fan's fingertips, the ten chains rose with a crisp, clear sound, pointing toward a specific direction and targeting a magnificent grand palace. At that very moment, he abruptly opened his eyes.

Suddenly, boundless killing intent erupted from within the palace, instantly chilling the entire city. How many lives must have been taken to generate such a terrifying spectacle?!

Endless resentful souls wailed. Countless malevolent spirits soared, surging forth from the grand hall, amidst a terrifying display of blood and fire that reached the sky!

It resembled an endless cataclysm of slaughter; faintly, millions of beings could be heard wailing. A monstrous, crimson blood mist surged forth, so vast it threatened to engulf even the Imperial Pass.

Furthermore, within the blood mist, skulls bobbed and headless divine demon corpses soared across the sky. Though these were illusory forms, they imparted an unnervingly real sensation.

A figure, not particularly tall or robust, emerged from the blood mist. Yet, with every step, the magnificent Imperial Pass and even the starry sky seemed to tremble, as if he wielded a terrifying, demonic power.

"The blood and bones behind him are real. What kind of bloody tribulation has he endured?!"

Ordinarily, people only knew that individuals in this region were exceptionally formidable, without necessarily knowing each one's origin. They had no prior information about this specific person.

Clad in black battle armor, his medium-sized frame appeared terrifying and intimidating within the blood mist. He seemed like a peerless demon king who had brought chaos to ancient ages, standing alone as if suppressing the entirety of Imperial City.

Everyone was stunned. This aura of chaos and calamity made everyone uneasy, triggering a bloodline response in many powerful individuals, making them feel as if their bodies might tear apart.

Streaks of crimson lightning flickered and struck him, amidst roaring winds and thunder. Heaven itself appeared enraged, seemingly intent on his destruction.

This phenomenon was utterly bizarre; it was as if this individual should not exist, rejected by heaven and earth. Bloody rain fell, lightning flashed, and thunder roared, transforming his very position into a forbidden zone.

The sight was truly chilling!

"A disciple of the Longevity Heavenly Venerable?" Ye Fan inquired.

With that question, the entire Imperial City quivered. A being from the Mythological Era? This was utterly astonishing, an unthinkable age!

Even Ye Tong, Huahua, and the others were greatly astonished. They had witnessed Ye Fan slaying the Seven Tyrants of Chaotic Heavens but were unaware that he had used the blood chains of order to capture fragments of the mastermind's imprint.

Everyone was shocked; the Mythological Era was incredibly distant, so far back that people couldn't even specify the number of millennia it spanned; there was no precise figure. It predated the Primordial Emperors and even the Heavenly Sovereign – an ancient history where gods and demons danced together, all pursuing immortality.

"Was it you who sent someone to prevent my master from entering the city just now?" Yang Xi demanded, seething with rage.

It was an egregious insult, not merely denying entry into the city but also dispatching assassins. Such an act was utterly excessive.

The man was completely encased in armor, save for a pair of blood-red pupils that gleamed with savagery, madness, and sheer brutality. They were not eyes of a human, containing only slaughter and destruction.

With surging blood energy, he took a single step, his form instantly expanding. The foot he lifted was dozens of *zhang* long, and it descended with a thunderous crash, aiming to stomp on the master and his three disciples.

This was incredibly fierce and arrogant. To directly stomp on Ye Fan, the Human Sacred Body, and his three disciples – what an act of sheer brutality and audacity!

Enraged, Yang Xi soared into the air, his body similarly expanding. He kicked forward, crashing into the colossal foot. A terrifying light erupted, accompanied by countless flickering symbols—the unfolding ripples of the Grand Dao.

Golden light and crimson light flashed simultaneously, like exploding stars. Had the Imperial Pass not been renowned as eternally unyielding and indestructible, this entire area would have instantly been reduced to cosmic dust.

Yang Xi was forced back, while the figure reverted to a normal height, landing on the ground with a loud thud that shattered the road, sending sand and stones scattering as blood mist surged wildly.

However, the damaged road instantly repaired itself, showcasing the miraculous nature of the Imperial Pass.

Crimson lightning continued to coil around him; by all appearances, he was a demonic anomaly, a being who should not exist in this world, saturated with sin, chaos, and blood.

Heavenly retribution continued ceaselessly. While not particularly strong, it automatically struck him whenever it sensed even a faint trace of his aura. This suggested a fundamental issue: his very existence seemed to be intolerable to the world. Any exposure of his aura would invite heavenly punishment!

Ye Fan was puzzled. How could a disciple of the Longevity Heavenly Venerable be like this? A being who should be close to the Dao of longevity was more demonic than any demon, a composite of blood and chaos.

"My existence is the outcome of that old man's longevity experiment, forged from millions of blood souls," he stated in a chilling voice, like that of a speaking corpse.

Many activated their Heaven's Eyes, some possessing rare vision capable of seizing the creation of heaven and earth, enabling them to see through illusion and perceive fundamental origins, much like Ye Fan.

Within this individual's body, a mass of blood origin wailed. It contained countless beings, and faintly, one could perceive the destruction of great stars and the endless taking of lives.

Everyone shivered involuntarily. This individual was too terrifying; it was no wonder he was rejected by Heaven. He was truly forged from blood and sin, fundamentally not a normal life form.

"He created me, so I must naturally help him destroy all his enemies. Since he died because of a Great Accomplished Sacred Body, I shall eradicate the entire lineage of Sacred Bodies!"

As he spoke, he bared his teeth in a chilling, stark white smile that gleamed with a cold light, like the fangs of a wild beast.

"Whoosh!"

He left a lingering afterimage as he surged forward like a bolt of crimson lightning. Behind him, divine demon corpses and white skulls floated in a sea of blood mist, enhancing his utterly demonic presence.

Ye Tong, Huahua, and Yang Xi attacked in unison, sensing something profoundly unsettling and dangerously obscure about the man's aura.

"Boom, boom, boom!"

From his body, countless energy-form corpses flew forth, each incredibly powerful, some even divine demon bodies imbued with their unique laws.

"Crash!"

The fierce collision forced Ye Fan's three disciples to retreat, their expressions solemn. Their opponent was peculiar, with fragments of laws scattering, symbolizing utter destruction.

Just as Ye Fan had observed, he had no connection to the longevity method, instead walking a chaotic path of blood and sin.

Ye Fan called back his three disciples. While they might not necessarily be defeated, engaging in such a battle would not benefit them, as the man was imbued with countless curses, ready to erupt at any moment.

Ye Fan himself made his move, his physical body as swift as lightning. Divine chains danced between his fingers, coiling around him as he launched a fierce attack on his opponent.

The two clashed within the spacious area between the palaces. Soon, countless blood patterns vibrated outwards, a full eruption of curse power.

The Longevity Heavenly Venerable's disciple launched a ferocious attack. The area became shrouded in blood mist, impenetrable to sight, from which chilling, ghost-like roars continuously emanated.

Only once did observers glimpse Ye Fan soaring out, dozens, even hundreds, of divine chains intertwined with blood and gold, forming a pair of majestic wings. Wielding supreme divine power, he plunged downward.

Everyone was petrified. Hadn't he lost his mastery of laws and the Dao? Yet he was able to manifest such a technique by drawing upon the most fundamental power of his physical body.

When the final violent tremor reverberated, all the blood mist dissipated. A figure descended from the sky, Ye Fan landing with his foot on the body of the Longevity Heavenly Venerable's disciple.

The ground cracked, sending stones flying. The body, forged from blood and sin, was crushed, as all ten divine chains from Ye Fan's fingertips pierced deep into his form.

With a flash of crimson light, the Longevity Heavenly Venerable's disciple dissolved into a shower of blood, his bones shattered. All that remained was a pool of muddy pulp; his body and spirit were utterly annihilated.

Everyone was astounded. Ye Fan had only just entered the city, yet he had already directly killed the Longevity Heavenly Venerable's disciple, slaying a figure from the Mythological Era. His arrival was dramatically announced with slaughter and blood.
