Chapter 1600: 葬虚空

"Ah..." The Lord of Reincarnation screamed as his head exploded.

The shattering of a supreme being's skull signified the collapse of his Immortal Platform, indicating that this once enlightened one would be annihilated in this world, becoming nothing more than dust in history.

At the same time, the Green Bronze Cauldron also shattered into pieces, exploding into a shower of light that scattered in all directions. It too had detonated.

Stained with the blood of Emperor Wushi and originally an immortal artifact—though incomplete—its power remained immeasurable. When simultaneously wielded and brought down by the Great Emperor Void and Ye Fan, its divine might became truly unparalleled.

Yet, after colliding with the Supreme Being's head, the cauldron itself disintegrated. This, in part, demonstrated how invincible the emperors of old truly were; even when wounded, their power remained astonishingly formidable.

A third of the Immortal Cauldron, painstakingly reassembled, was thus destroyed and fragmented again in this battle.

However, Ye Fan felt no remorse. As long as a Supreme Being could be slain, he wouldn't care if it was the Green Bronze Cauldron that shattered, or even his own body.

Terrifying green immortal rain flew in all directions. The Great Emperor Void stumbled, several fragments piercing his body, leaving him covered in blood.

Ye Fan was shocked that the Great Emperor Void hadn't evaded. Clearly, he had paid an immense price earlier to prevent the Lord of Reincarnation from achieving ultimate sublimation. Now, his true body was failing, perhaps even nearing death.

This filled him with dread, not for himself, but for all living beings. If even the Great Emperor Void no longer had the strength to fight, then there truly was no hope left.

A dazzling light emanated as the Lord of Reincarnation's shattered head transformed into a blazing, seething fireball that tore through the dark cosmos, making the area appear incredibly terrifying.

Had a true Supreme Being died? This was undoubtedly an event that would shake the ages.

Someone had slain such a figure, destined to be etched into history. Their glory would illuminate the ages, remembered forever. Such an event was monumental and awe-inspiring.

In this dark epoch, to slay a Supreme Being and bathe in their glorious blood was an act destined to pierce eternity, to be remembered forever.

However, the Great Emperor Void's own condition was dire. To prevent his opponent from returning to the Imperial Dao, too much of his cultivation, vital energy, and spirit had transformed into chains of order and flown out.

These were fragments of the Grand Dao within his blood, the essential substance that allowed him to live and be powerful in this life, and the very foundation of his ability to fight here. He had consumed far too much.

His body reeled, unable to stand steadily. Everything he had done was to kill the Lord of Reincarnation. There was no other choice.

"Great Emperor!" Ye Fan cried out mournfully.

If the Lord of Reincarnation were not stopped from achieving ultimate sublimation, the world would surely fall under his dominion, with no one left to oppose him. Though he would eventually perish himself, his destructive power before then would be enough to obliterate all hope.

"It's alright!" Void steadied himself, straightening his back once more. Though unable to hide his exhaustion, his eyes again glowed with brilliance, and his fighting spirit surged as he stared ahead.

The Lord of Reincarnation's head had been shattered and his body was mangled, yet at that moment, it shuddered, stood upright, and a chilling voice declared, "You think killing me will be that easy?!"

His primordial spirit, still within his torso, was not entirely destroyed. His earlier attempt at ultimate sublimation had merely been a feint, a tactic to discard his head and escape.

"Void, you are finished! To deal with me, to prevent my return to the imperial throne, you've already destroyed yourself. How much longer can you fight?!" The Lord of Reincarnation laughed cruelly.

"You..." Ye Fan's heart went cold. He had been deceived. He had clearly seen the Lord of Reincarnation undergoing ultimate sublimation, believing that if not stopped, he would transform into a true emperor. Yet, it wasn't real.

Were ancient Supreme Beings truly so formidable? It was despairing. Having paid such a heavy price and still failing to kill him, how could they continue the fight?

At this moment, Ye Fan's heart was filled with gloom. For the first time, he felt despair. The entire world felt so cold, so tragic, having failed to kill even one Supreme Being.

Unwillingness, rage, and despair could barely describe his emotions, but this was the brutal reality: any ancient Supreme Being was peerless and incredibly difficult to kill.

"What do you take me for? You, a mere ant, and a void corpse that isn't even a Great Emperor, dare to think you can kill me? Go cultivate for another hundred thousand years!"

The Lord of Reincarnation reformed his head. The fire of his primordial spirit burned fiercely and vigorously. He gazed arrogantly upon the world, standing tall in the starry sky, a sight that inspired despair.

"I refuse to accept this!" Ye Fan roared.

"What is a Supreme Being? Unrivaled in the world, peerless, once rulers of the cosmos. You cannot kill me!" The Lord of Reincarnation scoffed.

"Then let's go again!" Ye Fan roared, holding the Wushi Sutra. He shook out a handful of blood from the precious bottle, determined to fight a decisive battle with the Lord of Reincarnation, even if it meant mutual destruction.

However, at that very moment, the Great Emperor Void shook his head and said, "No need!"

"You..." The Lord of Reincarnation suddenly roared. He felt that something was wrong. The Great Emperor Void's vital energy, spirit, and cultivation had not dissipated; they hadn't been destroyed in the previous explosion and were still attached to his very bones.

"Ah..."

The Lord of Reincarnation shrieked. In the sky, the Great Emperor Void's Immortal Mirror vibrated. It had been stained with the blood of more than one Supreme Being—arguably the most throughout history—and possessed immense divine power. At this moment, it transformed into a descending sun, resonating with the Void's cultivation and vital energy that had clung to the Lord of Reincarnation's bones.

The Lord of Reincarnation shrieked, struggling with all his might, but he could not change anything. Even the Supreme Beings in the distance did not come to his rescue, for they knew he was finished!

It was utterly impossible for him to force ultimate sublimation now. His primordial spirit had, in the end, been partially shattered by the Green Bronze Cauldron's strike, and at this moment, his body was filled with the Void's Dao principles.

The Immortal Mirror vibrated. With a 'poof,' the Lord of Reincarnation's body and spirit trembled together, began to disintegrate, then ignited, exploding completely. This time, he truly perished.

His primordial spirit turned to dust, and the last surge of vital blood within him shot up, scattering down onto the Emperor Mirror, adding another type of imperial blood to the ancient mirror, which completely absorbed it.

The divine mirror grew even more ancient and imbued with an ineffable charm.

In the distance, the hearts of the other Supreme Beings turned cold. Witnessing one of their peers disintegrate and be slain was a profound shock to them.

They were all enlightened ones, once invincible throughout heaven and earth, yet today, two had fought to determine victory and defeat, life and death. This deeply moved them.

"After the Ancient Battle, another Supreme Being has been slain like this!"

"That ancient mirror is becoming increasingly mysterious. I believe it holds the hope of one day breaking into the Immortal Realm." The Stone Emperor's perspective was unique; while others focused on Void himself, he fixed his gaze on the ancient mirror.

The Great Emperor Void's body trembled. He seemed to have aged ten thousand years in an instant, his eyes dimming. Fighting five Supreme Beings, and then slaying the Lord of Reincarnation, he had paid an immense price.

Now, most of his cultivation had vanished. His vital energy and spirit were depleted. He could no longer sustain himself and was unable to continue fighting.

"Now, what do you have left to fight with?!" the Light-Dark Supreme Being said coldly.

The Supreme Beings pressed forward, while at the same time, the Great Emperor Hengyu was also fighting his way closer, intending to join Void in facing the enemy, knowing that Void was faltering.

"Roar!"

Ye Fan roared in fury, the Wushi Sutra in his hand rapidly sweeping out light. Aimed at the approaching figures, the Wushi Law traversed the sky, slashing towards the ancient Supreme Beings.

"Use your effective laws and power to kill the enemy. Do not waste a single drop for me. Soon, I will return to the eternal silence of the void," the Great Emperor Void said calmly.

Ye Fan's heart ached with bitterness, feeling powerless to change anything. He found this outcome difficult to accept; why was killing a Supreme Being so hard!

"They were all former emperors and rulers; a bitter fight is normal. Void's life has been filled with the blood of Supreme Beings; dying in battle is his destiny, and also the best destination," Void said.

"What's wrong with bathing in their blood for the sake of all living beings? This is glory that will shake the ages and be remembered forever!" Ye Fan roared loudly.

"Send Void on his way!" the Supreme Beings said coldly, pressing forward to kill him.

This was the most terrifying battle. For Ye Fan, an "ant," to have achieved these results was already worthwhile, delivering a crucial blow to the Lord of Reincarnation's demise. Thus, at this moment, he truly feared nothing, even immediate death, and charged forward desperately.

In his hand, the Wushi Sutra glowed, brilliant and dazzling. Various Imperial Dao laws soared, causing the Supreme Beings to occasionally spray blood thousands of feet high.

Meanwhile, the Great Emperor Hengyu was embroiled in a perilous life-or-death struggle, fighting fiercely. With Void wounded, Hengyu faced even greater pressure, and at this moment, the Imperial Artifacts also went wild, attacking with furious abandon.

The area devolved into the most horrifying conflict and chaos, a truly gruesome sight!

Imperial blood soared, staining the cosmos red.

"Do not waste even a shred of power because of me!" the Great Emperor Void reminded them again.

Ye Fan had something else he wanted to unleash, but he held back. With tears in his eyes, he bade farewell to Void, knowing that this great emperor of the ages was about to embark on his final journey.

"Void, what do you have left to fight with now?" the Light-Dark Supreme Being sneered.

The Stone Emperor was even more direct, swinging his great halberd down, intending to personally sever the Great Emperor Void's head, thus settling the millennia-old grievances between the Undying Mountain and Void from the Ancient Era.

"My blood has run dry, my spirit is weak, but I still have my Dao bones! What is there to fear in battle!" Void roared furiously.

This great roar was filled with the unyielding spirit and unwillingness of a Human Emperor. He craved the power of his peak era, but alas, this was no longer the Ancient Era, and he had lost that fighting strength.

"Boom!"

At this moment, the Great Emperor Void's flesh tore open, and one by one, crystalline Dao bones flew out, transforming into indestructible immortal light that soared towards the four Supreme Beings.

The imperial bones were like weapons, especially imbued with the Great Emperor Void's imperishable mark and filled with his unwilling and unyielding cries. All his bones glowed and burned, one after another, like individual imperial artifacts, surging towards the Stone Emperor, the Light-Dark Supreme Being, and the others.

This was a battle against fate, a final strike by a Great Emperor exerting his last strength. Even when he could no longer sustain himself, he resolutely sacrificed his Dao bones.

His blood had run dry. In the end, he sacrificed even his entire set of Dao bones, until he died in battle, utterly devoid of strength!

The area plunged into an era of great destruction. Everything was shattered; various lights flew, immortal Dao laws vibrated, and the Supreme Beings roared in fury, blocking the Great Emperor Void's final strike before death.

The crystalline Dao bones exploded, burning into ashes...

"Ah..." Ye Fan roared, charging forward with all his might.

The Great Emperor Hengyu fought even more fiercely, the area stained crimson with blood. All four Supreme Beings were covered in blood, wounded by the imperial bones, and frantically counterattacked, trying to devour Void's last remaining flesh and blood.

The Immortal Mirror let out a mournful cry. Witnessing the Great Emperor Void collapse powerlessly, it erupted with blinding light and emitted waves of sorrowful wails. Almost as if in self-preservation, it launched an attack in that very place.

This fierce battle shattered the heavens and rent the earth, a cacophony of wailing ghosts and howling deities. The Stone Emperor was nearly crippled, his primordial spirit severely damaged, and the Light-Dark Supreme Being even lost an arm.

The weapons of the Lord of Divine Ruins and the Abandons-Heaven Supreme Being shattered, making the scene incredibly tragic.

No one had anticipated that in the instant Void collapsed backward, the mirror and his Dao bones would possess such supreme divine power, severely wounding more than one Supreme Being, as if imbued with the rules of the immortal Dao.

At this moment, the imperial bones were utterly fragmented, and the mirror itself was shattered in half. Unable to withstand the attacks of the four Supreme Beings, it broke their weapons while also being half-destroyed itself.

The mirror fragments were crystalline. Half of them fell onto the Great Emperor Void's body, while the other half retained its mirror shape, still emitting undying brilliance, letting out a mournful wail.

At this moment, all living beings across the universe trembled violently. Through the collective thoughts of the masses, they grasped the outcome, and all were filled with profound sorrow.

"Oh, the pity! Why couldn't we have a peak Great Emperor Void? Why did he have to fight such an unwinnable battle, dragging his broken body?"

"The Great Emperor Void has died in battle... Heaven, you are blind!"

Throughout the cosmos, cries of sorrow echoed from countless star regions. All living beings wept. At this moment, their laments resounded across heaven and earth, a pervasive sound of grief.

On the battlefield, the half-shattered Void Mirror drifted, guarding the Great Emperor Void's body as it moved deeper into the cosmos. Its mournful wail filled hearts with sorrow and bitterness, making tears flow uncontrollably.

The Supreme Beings, wary of the mirror, did not immediately pursue, watching from a distance. The Great Emperor Void's bloodied corpse was incomplete, only half remaining.

Almost all of Void's bones had flown out to attack the enemy, and now, lacking support, his original imperial body was somewhat shapeless, scarred and bloody.

Recalling the Ancient Era: A magnificent period, a life of solitary battle, a turbulent existence. Though he brought peace to the seven great forbidden zones, his own blood was spilled for ten thousand years, until he aged and ultimately died in battle.

His entire life was spent in bloody combat, his blood scattered across the various forbidden zones, leaving behind his illustrious achievements, but also burying the entirety of his life.

Until the very end, in his twilight years, he fought until death, burying himself in the starry sky. Even amidst his own funeral song, he endured blood and fire, dragging two Supreme Beings with him to their demise.

Such was the life of the Great Emperor Void: he did not live a second life, spending his entire existence pacifying dark turmoil, until he died in battle.

And now, in this era, summoned by all living beings, he appeared once more!

Fight... fight... He no longer possessed his former combat strength, yet just like in the past, he expended his last ounce of power, his blood dried, his Dao bones exploded.

And so... he died in battle!

Such was his end.

The half-shattered mirror, accompanying the Great Emperor Void's remnants, drifted farther and farther, buried into the boundless void...
