Chapter 1538: Divine Child Meets Divine Infant

On the cold plains, the biting wind still howled, and heavy snow fell, covering the terrible battlefield. Bloodstains and shattered bones were hidden beneath the pristine white snow.

A bonfire blazed, with a cauldron set above it. Inside, various rare and delicious delicacies simmered, releasing a captivating aroma that was especially inviting in the cold snow.

Ye Fan personally started another fire, on which he roasted skewers of golden, glistening jerky and other meats. The fat dripped, sizzling in the flames.

All these foods were rare delicacies, almost impossible to find together on a single ancient planet. They included mythical creatures like the Winged Serpent, Golden-Backed Divine Loach, and Divine Blood Silver Chicken.

Little Nannan sat obediently on a soft cushion, gazing eagerly at the various dishes. She couldn't help but swallow; the poor child was truly starving.

Her experience was heartbreaking; she had endured cold and hunger alone in the bitter snow, which could easily have engulfed her tiny body.

"It will be ready soon, just a moment," Ye Fan said, smiling at her.

She hummed softly, blinking her large eyes, and waited obediently. Her dirty little face had been washed clean, and she was now dressed in a new, warm, radiant gown. After being cleaned up, the little one looked like a delicate porcelain doll.

At this time, both Li Tian and Yan Yixi were telling interesting stories to amuse Little Nannan.

"Uncles, Nannan is fine, don't worry," the little girl said in her childish voice, seeing Yan Yixi and the others surrounding her, checking on her, and offering to heal her.

Little Cao was also nearby, happy to see Nannan was safe.

"Alright, come, try this famous delicacy from the ancient human path, the Five-Striped Lamb Leg," Ye Fan said with a smile. He had roasted a lamb leg until it was golden brown, perfectly tender and succulent, with an irresistible aroma.

He sliced it open with a silver knife, cutting off a piece. Within its golden sheen, a five-colored, marbled luster seemed to flow, truly extraordinary.

Little Nannan looked up, happily taking a piece on a small silver plate. Instead of eating it herself, she offered it to Little Cao, saying, "Big sister, this is for you."

"Nannan, you eat first, I'm not hungry yet," Little Cao, a few years older and already sensible, declined quickly, knowing Nannan had suffered from hunger and cold recently.

"No need to share, there's enough for everyone," Ye Fan said, smiling, his heart filled with warmth. The killing intent from the battlefield had long vanished; seeing such an innocent and heartwarming scene made him feel much better.

The silver plates clinked as the two children ate with great relish, twirling their small silver forks like windmills—a truly adorable and amusing sight.

Yet, Ye Fan felt a pang of sympathy; the little one was truly starving.

After so many years of suffering such hardship, Yan Yixi was concerned Little Nannan might have issues. He quietly discussed with Ye Fan whether they should find a solution.

However, as they cautiously probed, they found the little one was incredibly pure-hearted. She always remembered the good in people and had long forgotten any unhappiness or sorrow.

With no hatred in her heart, only light, it was hard to tell if she was simply thoughtless or just purely adorable.

"Nannan always forgets the past. Is she consciously erasing unhappiness? Or is there some trauma from a distant past that requires her to forget it in this way?" Li Tian asked secretly.

Ye Fan frowned upon hearing this. He had considered many things regarding Little Nannan's condition and had just intervened to improve her "symptoms," ensuring she wouldn't forget those around her. However, many mysteries remained unsolved.

"Is this the secret to her immortality?" Ye Fan's heart was restless. He had one or two theories about Nannan's origin and identity that were almost certainly true, but he found it difficult to voice them.

"Is it that her Divine Platform remains constant, untainted by dust, undisturbed by the mortal world, forgetting the past, pure and transparent—is this one of the reasons for Little Nannan's immortality?" Yan Yixi also mused.

He and Li Tian had already learned about Nannan's past and present condition from Ye Fan, so they naturally had many thoughts.

She had been like this for thousands of years and remained so now. There were even indications that her faint silhouette could be traced back to a much earlier ancient era, a clue Ye Fan had discovered in the Eastern Wasteland. How incredible was that!

"Big Brother, I'm full," the little girl said happily, sitting obediently and holding up her small silver plate to show him it was completely clean.

The little one was very innocent and easily content. As long as no one bullied her, she was always cheerful, able to influence others, making them relax and feel warm.

Ye Fan affectionately stroked her head and gave her some hot soup. Seeing her like this, he finally felt a little better.

"Did we forget a little rascal?" Li Tian chuckled mischievously.

"Where, where, where's a little rabbit?" Little Nannan and Little Cao cried out together.

"Right here," Yan Yixi said with a smile, bringing out the plump, white, and chubby Divine Child.

"You're lying!" the two little ones exclaimed in unison.

Little Cao, however, curiously leaned closer, looking at the Divine Child through the Immortal Source and asking, "Why is he in a stone? Is this a coffin? Is he stillborn?"

"You're the one who's stillborn!" the little fatty woke from his sleep, immediately displeased to see a small face so close, saying such words.

"Ghost!" Little Cao shrieked in fright, backing away.

"You're the ghost! I am the greatest miracle in the world!" the little fatty said pompously, then suddenly startled awake and added, "So this is the little girl you were looking for? She's nothing special."

A monstrous anomaly like him, perhaps the only one of his kind throughout history, certainly had the right to speak like that. In others' eyes, Little Cao's innate talent was already considered exceptionally rare and of excellent quality.

"This little melon-head is talking nonsense again, is your butt itching?" Li Tian chuckled mischievously, then smacked him with a 'pop'.

"That's the hundred and thirteenth time, I'm keeping count!" the Divine Child said indignantly.

"Big Brother, who is he?" Little Nannan peeked out from behind Ye Fan, curiously looking at the little fatty in the Immortal Source.

"He's a mischievous wild child, even Heaven doesn't like him, so it sealed him away," Li Tian quickly replied.

The Divine Child glared at him sideways, gritting his teeth, then full of disdain, he challenged them.

Little Nannan also came closer, watching curiously. She even touched the Immortal Source, and immediately, streams of immortal light flew into her body.

"Ghost!" This time, it was the little fatty's turn to shout, his face full of shock as he stared at the little girl.

Little Nannan quickly retreated, grabbing a corner of Ye Fan's clothes and hiding behind him, only peeking out with half her head.

Yan Yixi and Li Tian clicked their tongues in wonder. Although they had long heard of Little Nannan's miraculous abilities, seeing them firsthand still filled them with astonishment.

"She...who is she? How can she absorb my vital essence?!" The little fatty seemed terrified, staring wide-eyed at the little girl without blinking.

"Nannan didn't mean to," the little one whispered, taking a step forward to apologize.

"Oh no, my essence is leaking again! The immortal energy dormant in my body is flowing away!" the Divine Child cried out, showing genuine fear of Little Nannan.

Ye Fan looked surprised. He noticed runes flashing within the little fatty's body, and his blood contained fragments of unknown laws, which was truly remarkable.

It was profoundly mysterious, impossible to fully comprehend!

And the so-called immortal energy was precisely overflowing from his blood, making the little fatty's face turn pale with fright.

Little Nannan, looking confused, stepped back. She remained completely normal, her body calm and undisturbed, as the immortal light overflowing from the little fatty entered her without causing any change.

Li Tian and Yan Yixi were both moved, while Little Cao, who understood nothing, simply stood by, looking left and right.

"Help!" the little fatty genuinely cried out in fear, almost in tears.

"That's what you get for being stubborn, scared now, aren't you?" Li Tian chuckled, moving him a little further away.

Little Nannan also stopped approaching. After a moment, the little fatty inside the Immortal Source returned to normal, but he was still fearful and absolutely refused to come closer, even wanting to escape, though he couldn't get out of Ye Fan's grasp.

"Who is she? How can she be so terrifying and mysterious? She's just a tiny little thing, probably even smaller than me!" the Divine Child's eyes widened as he pondered, clearly unwilling to accept it.

"Nannan, come here." After a moment of thought, Ye Fan brought Little Nannan to the Immortal Source. He wasn't trying to investigate Nannan, but rather to determine the Divine Child's origin.

"No!" the little fatty shrieked like a pig being slaughtered, flailing his limbs and making the Immortal Source wobble.

This time, as soon as Little Nannan approached, wisps of immortal energy flew out from the Divine Child's body, and his own body rumbled, with the fragments of the Grand Dao in his blood multiplying many times over.

"This plump little fatty truly has a frightening origin! He's so young, yet he has fragments of such supreme Dao principles within him!" Li Tian exclaimed in awe.

However, the Divine Child was now disheveled and filled with fear. This was an instinctive terror, the first time in his life he had ever felt such apprehension towards someone.

Inside his body, more and more runes appeared, until he glowed entirely.

At the same time, the Green Copper Cauldron inside Ye Fan's body trembled and emitted a clear resonance. His expression instantly changed, and he quickly took it out.

Ye Fan, holding Little Nannan and ensuring her protection, then directly placed the Divine Child into the Green Cauldron for careful observation.

"Murder! I don't want to die! You can't do this to me! Quickly take that little girl away!" the Divine Child wailed.

"Buzz!"

The Green Copper Cauldron trembled again, startling Ye Fan, Li Tian, and Yan Yixi, who all showed incredible expressions. This little fatty's background was truly astonishing!

Ye Fan shook the cauldron, hoping for more discoveries, only to find the little fatty dizzy and disoriented, almost frothing at the mouth.

"Nannan, help Big Brother once more," Ye Fan said, having Little Nannan extend her small, snow-white hand into the cauldron, staring fixedly at the little fatty.

"I'm scared! I give up! I'll forget all those times you hit my butt, I won't keep score anymore!" the little fatty cried out in surrender.

His blood boiled, and under Little Nannan's suppression, even more immortal energy overflowed. Although it didn't harm his body, he felt an instinctive fear.

"Buzz!"

The Green Copper Cauldron shook, this time emitting an even more brilliant light and several ancient, exceptionally mysterious syllables.
