When Ye Fan first came, he had campaigned for ten years, passing through many dead zones along the way and enduring dozens, even hundreds, of trials before finally reaching the Human Ancient Road.
Now, he was finally returning, but the galactic coordinates he possessed were not precise.
The path to Beidou was very distant. Back then, cultivators from the Eternal Starfield had advanced towards Beidou by constantly deducing and exploring, making continuous corrections along the way, without ever having truly exact coordinates.
Ye Fan had acquired this set of vague coordinates previously and said, "Though not precise, they should be close enough."
The group stood on the Divine Light Platform, gazing silently into the distance. The stone platform instantly burst forth with brilliant light, emitting a dazzling radiance, enveloping them as it tore through space, and they vanished from the spot.
In their final moments, they looked back at the ancient road behind them. Everything remained etched in their hearts. They had spent most of their lives here, battling across star rivers, campaigning and fighting all the way, leaving behind indelible memories.
The Human Saint Body had departed, and this news spread across dozens of ancient roads, causing many to breathe a sigh of relief, as if a huge boulder had been lifted from their hearts.
Of course, many cultivators felt regret, especially the younger generation of humanity.
"Alas, Senior Ye actually left!" one lamented. "I thought he was going to enter the ultimate heavenly path and fight until he reached the Emperor realm."
"What do you know?" another retorted. "That path is extraordinary. Perhaps it's not yet time for a decisive confrontation; in the future, there will naturally be the most magnificent decisive battle of this grand era, and the supreme powerhouses of the entire universe will appear!"
"The Golden Grand Era has already begun," yet another said. "The most brilliant radiance is about to burst forth. The most terrifying war is about to unfold. Let us look forward to it together, and witness a series of peerless divine battles!"
Some human masters naturally hoped that Ye Fan would shine brightly, unleash his invincible power, sweep across the starry sky, and ascend to the pinnacle.
Ye Fan traveled far away, but many legends about him circulated in the starry sky. Many years later, people still spoke of his formidable reputation for sweeping through all races without an equal.
The Human Saint Body left behind a glorious legacy and departed gracefully.
The vast starry sky, with its brilliant stars, concealed countless secrets. Throughout history, strong individuals had sought to explore them, but none could reach their end in a lifetime.
The dark universe cracked open, and a simple stone platform emerged. Numerous figures stood upon it; Ye Fan, Ji Ziyue, the Dragon Horse, and others had arrived on the other side of the starry sky.
"Are we back?" Ji Ziyue whispered, her voice trembling. They had been separated for over a hundred years, and she felt the apprehension of nearing home.
However, all she saw was endless darkness and faint starlight. This was not a life-bearing continent, but still in the depths of space.
"We haven't gotten lost, have we?" The Dragon Horse's expression changed, as it feared this situation most.
"Can't we return to Beidou?" Ji Ziyue asked, her voice trembling.
"Don't worry, it's not far," Ye Fan said. He gazed ahead, staring at a star river, from which a mysterious aura emanated.
The Divine Light Platform once again tore through space, carrying them deeper into the vast starry sky.
This time, the distance was short, and they appeared amidst starlight. They remotely saw clusters of stars ahead, with one particular star exuding an immense life aura.
"We're really... back!" Ji Ziyue exclaimed excitedly, tears welling in her eyes. Having been away from home for so many years, she intensely missed her parents and often woke up from dreams.
"Heh, I've returned!" the Dragon Horse declared shamelessly, with an arrogant demeanor. "Let this world prepare to tremble."
"This... is the Burial Emperor Star?!"
The Black Bear Saint, the Golden Lion, and others all yearned intensely for this ancient star, wanting to see it for themselves. What magic did this place possess, that it made Emperor after Emperor choose it as their final resting place? And it was predicted that the Immortal Ascension Road would open here; now they finally got to see it.
The immense star slowly rotated, as if nurturing a colossal divine embryo, waiting for the right moment to emerge. The life aura it emitted was incredibly potent.
Even from a great distance, it could be perceived, inspiring awe.
"We're home!" Ye Fan said to Ji Ziyue, knowing she must miss her family greatly.
The group, like dozens of meteors, streaked across the sky, arriving in an instant, approaching the great star, and gazing forward.
"Oh!" Suddenly, Ye Fan's heart stirred, and he was startled.
"What's wrong?" Ji Ziyue blinked her large eyes and asked him.
"Look," Ye Fan said, pointing forward, "doesn't the layout of the continents on this ancient star seem to follow a pattern?" He had had doubts before, but not with such keen perception as today.
The five continents—Central Province, Eastern Wasteland, Western Desert, Southern Ridge, and Northern Plains—were pieced together, and their shape was extraordinary. If a few modifications were made and some strokes added, they would greatly resemble a five-colored altar.
In fact, each of the five continents had a distinct color. If the surface trees, soil, rocks, and so on were removed, they would truly correspond to the different colors on a five-colored altar.
"This..." The more the group thought about it, the more astonished they became. With a little refinement and careful arrangement, it would indeed look very similar!
If this were true, such a colossal five-colored altar... would be simply astounding! What kind of coordinates would be needed to activate it? Where did it lead? Could it possibly lead directly to the Immortal Realm?!
Beidou was no ordinary place. This ancient star was incredibly vast, and these five continents could very well be the foundation of an altar. It was truly shocking.
"We've learned our lesson. Right upon arrival, we were given a show of force," the Black Bear Saint and others all sighed. "It truly lives up to its name as the Burial Emperor Star."
They descended, already reaching the outer space of this great star. As soon as they approached, they sensed a formidable killing intent soaring into the sky. Someone was engaged in an intense battle.
They flew forward. It was an extraterritorial battlefield, where countless battles involving Beidou had taken place throughout history. Broken blades, shattered bells, and other debris floated there, along with many massive bones.
A group of people were engaged in a chaotic battle. Their races varied: there were Golden Crows, Flood Dragons, humanoid powerhouses, exotic beasts, and ancient races from Beidou, numbering about seventeen or eighteen individuals, and the fighting was extremely fierce.
In the past, this would have been considered a major battle, but Ye Fan had seen too much in the starry sky and was now almost numb to it. Moreover, his own cultivation had advanced, so he regarded it with indifference.
Boom!
Further away, incredibly terrifying fluctuations emanated, indicating a clash between Great Saints!
By the time Ye Fan and his group arrived, the victor had been decided. One person bled profusely and fled into outer space, while the other sneered, did not pursue, vanished from the spot, and descended upon Beidou.
The Dragon Horse gasped, having witnessed such a scene with just a brief glance. The current turmoil in Beidou was imaginable, and it was unknown how many ancient sages had arrived.
They traveled through the extraterritorial battlefield, witnessing more than a dozen battle groups. It was chaotic beyond measure, with blood splattering everywhere, and the fighting was incredibly fierce.
The Warring States era had arrived, and Beidou ushered in an age of chaos!
Undoubtedly, the opening of the Immortal Ascension Road had agitated countless individuals. The arrival of saints from beyond the domain had created various conflicts, often leading to bloody battles.
"After a separation of over a hundred years, I have returned," Ye Fan murmured to himself.
Back then, it could be said he had left his homeland. This was not only because he needed to embark on the star path for trials, but also because he possessed the Green Bronze Cauldron, and had been universally pursued by various saints.
Now, he was no longer the young cultivator he once was. He could now look down upon the world with disdain, and even facing a Great Saint, he had no need to retreat!
Having been forced to leave, he now returned. He was surprisingly calm, his gaze shifting as he surveyed this mysterious star.
"Have the people up ahead seen a Saint-realm silver python escaping?" A shout came from a distance.
A group of people approached, with some shouting for them to clear the way. This was a powerful group, commanding a purple-copper warship. A Saint King led them, and behind him stood four Saints side by side. The ship was filled with cultivators, displaying great dominance.
Ye Fan and his group remained indifferent. They did not unleash their pressure, said nothing, and stood quietly in place, showing no intention of moving aside.
The hundreds-of-feet-long warship suddenly stopped. The Saint King's expression turned solemn as he sensed a disquieting aura. He then clasped his fists and hurriedly apologized, saying, "My apologies, everyone, we meant no offense. We spoke carelessly in our urgency; please do not take offense. We shall withdraw immediately."
With that, the warship immediately turned around. The Saint King-level expert offered another apology and steered the ship in a swift retreat, avoiding the group.
"Grand Ancestor, what's wrong?" a voice from the ship asked. "Are those people very formidable? We represent the Gouchen Ancient Star. If a conflict truly arose, wouldn't they fear the people of our Gouchen Star?"
"Silence! What do you know?" the Saint King rebuked. "Those were a group of Saint Kings; not a single one among them was merely a Saint!"
Ye Fan and his group continued to descend, passing by eight more warships in succession. It must be said that with the arrival of chaotic times, the people on several of these warships harbored strong hostility and almost initiated a fight.
The ninth warship passed them. This group consisted of ancient race powerhouses. Awed by Ye Fan and his group's aura, they did not make a move, but those on board couldn't help but gaze at them for a moment.
Among them was a middle-aged man with three heads and six arms, who looked like a divine demon and was very majestic. He was a rising powerhouse who had become renowned among the ancient races in recent years. He looked again and again, and suddenly his expression changed dramatically.
"Did I... see that correctly?" He tried to look further, to identify them more clearly, but Ye Fan's silhouette had already vanished. He couldn't help but frown deeply, filled with suspicion.
"Muni, what's wrong?" an old Ancestor King asked. He was very pleased with this disciple; if one didn't count the extraterritorial Saints, Muni was among the top ten rising experts of the ancient races in recent years.
"The silhouette of that person just now looked very familiar," Muni said with a solemn expression, "like someone from the past."
"Like who?" the elder asked.
"The Human Saint Body who almost tore through the heavens in the past," Muni replied.
"What?!" The elder was greatly startled and shocked. "Are you sure you weren't mistaken?"
"I only saw a side profile and his back, so I can't be certain," Muni said. "After all, I only saw him from afar once back then. He was far too terrifying for our generation."
In the past, Ye Fan had traveled across all lands and fought against the world, engaging in battle after battle with the ancient races. Even before becoming a Saint, he had shattered the Saint Domain's barriers and began slaying Saints!
To the younger generation of the ancient races, he was like a great mountain pressing down on their hearts, making it difficult for them to breathe. He was the most terrifying adversary they had envisioned.
Slaying Yuangu and annihilating the Emperor's Son—such impressive achievements were enough to shock ancient and modern times. They drove the younger generation to despair. Even the offspring of ancient Emperors were no match for him; who else could contend? One can imagine the immense pressure they felt.
"It shouldn't be him," the elder said, frowning. "He has already embarked on the ancient road. Even if he doesn't die in battle in outer space, he wouldn't be able to return until he reaches the Great Saint realm. The time has been too short; I don't think it's possible, is it?!"
"He really looked similar," Muni insisted.
"Your generation has truly been affected by him," the Ancestor King said, shaking his head. "Feeling his pressure too heavily has left a shadow in your hearts. That's not good."
"I really feel it was him," Muni insisted.
As the Ancestor King heard his tone become increasingly certain, he couldn't help but grow solemn. "If it truly is him," he said, "then another storm of blood and strife is coming. The Human Saint Body will likely stir up monstrous waves."
"Should we inform the other races?" Muni asked.
"What business is it of ours? It's not our affair; we observe quietly!" the Ancestor King declared. "No, immediately seal the mountain gate! Even if the outside world is filled with blood, do not let our clansmen out." The Ancestor King issued a strict order, and then immediately ordered his men to turn the ship around and rush back to their own clan. He felt the matter was very serious.
Ye Fan descended upon the Eastern Wasteland, gazing at the magnificent mountains and rivers. His heart was filled with myriad thoughts. He had returned once again, unsure of what awaited him.
This place was not far from the Barren Ancient Forbidden Land. With a quick glance, they remotely saw many cave dwellings appear among the peaks outside this restricted life zone. Some speculated that the Immortal Ascension Road might open here, and a group of powerful Saints were guarding the area.
Ye Fan took a look, but did not linger. The group continued on their way.
"Huh, who was that person? And that horse... My heavens, could it be the Human Saint Body has returned?!" one young ancient clan member murmured to himself, his face filled with shock.
"Is it really... him?" Another person nearby stared blankly at the disappearing afterimage in the sky, then solemnly said, "It has nothing to do with us!"
