**Title:**
Mountains and valleys were shrouded in miasma, with ancient vines and giant trees covering the terrain, presenting a primeval scene. Yet, it was extremely quiet, not a single sound could be heard; a profound desolation permeated the air.
A colossal coffin lay horizontally, ancient and weathered, entirely made of seamless stone. It was a thousand *zhang* tall, dwarfing many of the surrounding mountain peaks. Without a close look, no one would have taken it for a coffin; it clearly resembled a barren stone ridge, on which not a blade of grass grew. It exuded an innate aura of the Great Dao, inspiring genuine awe.
“Is the Void Emperor, who suppressed the dark turmoil and fought against almost all seven great forbidden zones of life, buried inside?” Pang Bo murmured.
“The coffin of an ancient Great Emperor is truly extraordinary; just standing here, I feel something unusual,” the Twelve Sages also sighed, one after another.
There was no oppressive or terrifying aura. Despite its immense size, no dreadful fluctuations emanated from the stone coffin; it exuded only an extraordinary quality.
Upon arriving, they did not rashly venture inside. Not only was the ancient coffin highly mysterious, but more importantly, this place was a perilous 'dead zone'—a place from which there was no return.
Ye Fan, Pang Bo, and others had cultivated the Heavenly Eye. Standing far away, they could see for thousands of miles, yet they could not fully discern what lay in the deepest parts of the mist; it was as if veiled by a layer of gauze. Even the unique Source Heavenly Eye was blocked, unable to fully perceive its depths. The area contained ancient, unknown deadly traps that, even now, could not be overcome.
“If the Ji family siblings are truly inside, that would be rather bad,” Pang Bo said. “This place is so ominous; I hope no danger befalls them.”
Ye Fan replied, “As long as they don’t leave the ancient coffin, even the most terrifying dead zone won’t be a problem; it won’t be able to harm them.”
This was a fact: even if ancient Great Emperors had died, their remains could not be desecrated by later generations, for they possessed unfathomable power.
A 'dead zone' was a place where even Sages would perish upon entry, a burial ground and mountain range that had existed since ancient times. Although ancient trees formed a dense forest and even 'Medicine Kings' could be found here, not a single spirit beast was seen.
“Something’s not right,” the Dragon Horse wondered. “Look, these mountain peaks are emanating purple mist in broad daylight. Clearly, auspicious light is bursting forth, a sign of great fortune. How can it be called a ‘dead zone’?”
“Let me take a look.” Ye Fan told everyone to step back. His entire body glowed with a radiant aura as he cast a Source Art, causing large patterns to appear under his feet as he began to investigate the mountain range.
“Huh. No. Retreat quickly!” Ye Fan exclaimed, startled. The moment they retreated, a mysterious power, sacred and pure, almost divine in its essence, spread towards them, flowing with radiant colors. It wasn’t a killing intent; rather, it was as if an immortal gate had opened, welcoming distinguished guests into the mountains, which seemed very eerie.
“It’s different from what the natives said. This is clearly a pure land; how can it be called a ‘dead zone’?” The Twelve Sages looked at each other in confusion, none of them detecting any killing intent.
Ye Fan also frowned, staring at the mountains intently. He still made everyone wait outside, while he alone stepped forward, proceeding by himself.
The next moment, a vast power reappeared. All the mountains and valleys resonated, emitting auspicious light. Each mountain peak seemed like a supreme treasure, roaring as auspicious energy soared into the sky. Innate divine essence surged like water; all the mountain peaks trembled, radiating immense sanctity as hues of divine light danced across the sky. This was completely unlike the legends.
“Why is this happening?” Pang Bo and the Twelve Sages outside couldn't believe it. “Are the natives lying to us? Impossible. If one person is like this, are all the people we met lying?”
Ye Fan stopped, filled with doubt but also heightened vigilance. Standing at the periphery of the dead zone, he sent a voice transmission inside, shouting towards the stone coffin: “Ziyue, Brother Haoyue, are you there?”
His voice, like thunder, shook the void, spreading for thousands of miles. The entire mountain range resonated with it, continuously echoing his words. Meanwhile, the auspicious light grew even stronger, as if an immortal’s dwelling had opened, waiting for fated individuals to venture inside and claim their fortune.
Ye Fan decisively retreated. Although auspicious light filled the air, he always felt something was off; it was an unexplainable feeling.
“Crack!”
All the great mountains cracked open. Tens of thousands of peaks roared and groaned, and numerous cracks appeared on every mountain body, revealing fresh red liquid within.
“Blood! It’s scarlet blood!”
Ye Fan and the others were alarmed. How much blood must be inside so many mountains, and how did it form? It made them suspicious.
“These mountains are alive; they’re moving!” the Black Bear Sage said in a deep voice.
These mountain bodies moved like snakes and dragons, swimming like coiled dragons. Even though they had cracked open and blood had appeared, they continued to move, making the sight extremely eerie.
“Are these truly living creatures? Look, inside the mountain bodies, there are giant white bones, like the mountains’ skeletons, stained with bloodstains.” Everyone gasped in surprise.
What were these things, and how could they be so unique?
Mountains that could crawl, moving like coiled dragons and snakes, with cracked surfaces, blood inside, and massive bones that supported their very forms. Each bone was exceptionally long; the largest measured hundreds, even thousands, of *zhang*, while the smallest were less than palm-sized. All of them possessed a strange vital luster.
The mountains were alive. What kind of creatures were these? Was this why the place was called a ‘dead zone’—because they devoured any living beings that entered?
Suddenly, a strange, refreshing fragrance drifted over, invigorating them and making them feel so light they could almost float. It possessed a special, intoxicating magic. All the mountain bodies trembled, and intense light erupted from their cracked fissures. From the blood and bones, drops of mysterious, crystal-clear liquid seeped out.
They slid down the mountain bodies, falling towards the foothills, forming shimmering, translucent small puddles, many of which connected to each other. Without anyone needing to say it, everyone knew this was an extraordinary divine liquid. However, the process of its creation was so incredible that it left them astonished and bewildered.
“Collect!” the Dragon Horse roared softly, unleashing a magic artifact that plunged into the myriad mountains, intending to gather the mysterious liquid drops.
However, its artifact was like a clay ox entering the sea, never to return. It fell directly onto the mountain body, then disintegrated, swallowed by streams of auspicious light and absorbed into the mountain itself.
“It used my artifact as nourishment! What exactly are these things? Are there really ‘earth dragons’ in this world?!”
Within the mountains, various streams of light danced. The crystal-clear liquid was scarce and extremely rare; it neither seeped into the sand nor disappeared into rock crevices. All of it gathered at the base of the mountains, forming only small puddles.
As for the colossal stone coffin, it still lay horizontally, remaining completely unchanged.
“Someone’s coming,” the Azure Luan Sage said.
In the distance, dozens of figures flew over, each enveloped in a divine halo. There were men and women, some heroic and imposing, others sacred and serene, or as beautiful as flowers, all exuding an otherworldly charm. Most were humanoid beings, though some had three heads and six arms, and others a third vertical eye. Each possessed an extraordinary aura, inspiring apprehension.
“It seems the God-Demon Liquid will be generated. It only surges once every ten thousand years, so the opportunity is rare, and we must not make any mistakes.”
Each of these people was very powerful, yet they did not dare to venture deep into the dead zone. All of them quietly observed from the outside, unaware of Ye Fan and the others who were already hidden.
“Look quickly, the God-Demon Liquid has begun to form,” a man said in a deep voice. “In a while, some precious liquid will settle. It’s harvested once every ten thousand years, and it’s of great importance, so everyone must diligently patrol these days; no mistakes are allowed.”
Ye Fan and the others, listening from the side, secretly nodded. This was indeed a strange place, surprisingly producing God-Demon Liquid, which was difficult to obtain for anyone without immense power and great capabilities.
“You and I are both acting on orders,” another chimed in. “If there’s any mistake, no one can bear the responsibility; the gods will blame us, so we must be careful.”
Pang Bo and the others grew more and more astonished as they listened. Some God-Demon Liquid would appear every ten thousand years, and these people belonged to a certain great power, specifically responsible for collecting the precious liquid here.
“My lord, why is the God-Demon Liquid produced, and how exactly is it formed?” someone asked. “Isn’t this a dead zone? Can we go in?”
Obviously, there were new members among them, filled with curiosity about this place, earnestly asking for guidance and explanations.
“This is the battlefield of the gods, where their blood and bones are buried,” a handsome man warned. “And now, no one except our god can enter; otherwise, their bodies and souls will be destroyed.” He was a Sage King of astonishing strength, with three heads, six arms, and thick black hair, possessing a formidable aura.
These were the blood and bones of the gods, buried here, forming a vital dead zone. Within these flesh and blood remains lay immortal essence, tempting all who came after. For unknown reasons, it eventually seemed to form an immortal cellar, or perhaps transformed into a unique life form. The gods’ flesh, bones, and other remains automatically produced the God-Demon Liquid, which surged forth once every ten thousand years.
“These people are from the Divine Realm!” Through their conversation, Ye Fan’s group quickly learned some information.
“My lord,” someone asked, “decades ago, a giant coffin fell from the sky and landed in this dead zone. Is there any explanation for it? No one has found out yet.”
“Yes, what happened?” another person chimed in. “The ancient coffin fell from the sky, and at the time, some people remotely observed that there were several living beings on the coffin. This is simply unbelievable. I wonder if they are still in this dead zone.”
“Some matters are too vast and too profound, not for you to inquire about,” the lord said coldly. “It’s best not to do so.” Finally, he still whispered, “That is the nine-layered ancient coffin from the mythical era. It might even belong to one of the gods’ elders, so do not discuss it.”
In the shadows, Pang Bo and the others gasped. The nine-layered coffin from the mythical era was said to be buried in the nine heavens, containing deities. Could its origin truly be here?
Ye Fan speculated that the Void Emperor had merely obtained the nine-layered coffin from the cosmos, and the true identity of its owner remained unknown. And now, it seemed they were about to find the true owner!
“It looks like Ziyue and Brother Haoyue might still be deep within the dead zone,” Ye Fan muttered to himself. “They haven’t come out all this time. I wonder how they are after all these years.”
Just then, a rumbling sound came from the distant sky. A bronze war chariot streaked across the firmament, seemingly tearing through the heavens as it rushed towards them, emitting an immortal radiance.
“A decree from the Divine Realm has arrived!” the people who had arrived earlier exclaimed.
“The divine decree states: Recently, the god, in deep contemplation, realized that foreign spirits have arrived and will disrupt the peace of all lands. Therefore, a decree is issued to the world for all races to jointly slay the foreign evil spirits and protect this realm.”
A shadowy figure stood on the bronze war chariot, issuing the decree, calling upon all heroes under heaven to jointly resist the foreign devils and utterly slaughter the invaders.
In the shadows, Ye Fan, Pang Bo, the Dragon Horse, and others were all shaken.
“Big trouble!” the Dragon Horse exclaimed. “There will be a bloody storm in this world. All Great Sages, Young Supremes, and others who have descended upon this realm will be in trouble. That existence in the Divine Realm is about to go on a killing spree!”
