Chapter 1213: The Sleeping God

The Massive Stone Hall glowed with sacred light, like a divine sun. It was an ancient temple dedicated to worshipping the Sun God.

Ye Fan, the Monkey, and Ji Zi walked through the hall, heading straight for the teleportation array. Together, they channeled their energy to activate the intricate Dao patterns.

With a flash of light, the domain gate opened, revealing a wondrous place where fire essence had liquefied, intensely radiant and representing the purest Yang source energy of heaven and earth.

The terrifying heat was so intense that even Saints would hesitate to enter. It posed a significant threat to all three of them. Blazing flames flickered, and a surging divine aura permeated the area.

There really was someone! A colossal pressure emanated, causing them to shudder. Their bodies felt like they would tear apart, as if sharp blades were cutting through bone.

"There's an ancient forbidden array," they said. "It strongly resembles one laid by an ancient Great Emperor. It blocks the path; we can't go in!"

They stared ahead, where chaotic energy and fire essence entwined, making the area hazy. They could only sense a person there, but couldn't see clearly; even the Heavenly Eye couldn't penetrate the veil.

The ancient array was immensely old, having existed for at least millions of years. It was still operating, absorbing the fire essence of heaven and earth and integrating the origins of all things.

If a person were sleeping here, who else could it be but a god?

Millions of years passed in a flash. This span of time was so vast that ordinary people couldn't even imagine it; it was a duration that countless cycles of reincarnation could not exhaust.

"There's an ancient temple here, worshipping the sun," Ji Zi mused. "Could it be where the Sun Saint Emperor's coffin is placed?"

Logically speaking, it was highly probable. The burial grounds of ancient Great Emperors were all mysterious, with most of their tombs being hard to find.

The Human Race's Sun Saint Emperor possessed unparalleled power. It would be perfectly normal for him to be buried within the sun after his death.

Even if he died, later generations would gaze up at the sun every day, as if worshipping this supreme ancient Human Emperor, bestowing unparalleled glory upon him.

Ye Fan shook his head. Only he knew that this couldn't be the Sun Saint Emperor, because years ago, when he traversed the cosmos with the Nine Dragons pulling the coffin, he had encountered a divine remnant of this Emperor. They had traveled together, and that stone coffin was ultimately buried in the North Sea Eye of the Ziwei Ancient Life Star.

They retreated, not forcing their way forward. A vast divine aura flowed there, making it difficult for the three of them to pass with their combined strength.

The Black Emperor arrived, initially reluctant. But upon hearing there was an ancient Great Emperor's array to study and a suspected divine being lurking, it immediately started drooling profusely.

Hanging on its back like a koala was a little bald head, refusing to let go. He cried and shouted that he wanted to eat roasted Golden Crow legs, stubbornly clinging to the Black Emperor's leg.

After entering the Sun Star, the big black dog had to specially channel its Dao power to protect him, otherwise he would instantly turn into ashes.

"There's black chicken soup and Ancient Saint meat to eat," they exclaimed. "How could we be left out!"

At first, there were only a few, but eventually, a group arrived. Dongfang Ye, Li Tian, Yan Yixi, Old Bladesman, Li Heishui, and others all came, activating the Divine Maiden Cauldron to protect themselves as they entered the ancient hall within the Sun Star.

Furthermore, Ye Tong was specifically brought over, as this place, with its divine traces left by the Sun Saint Emperor, would offer many benefits for his enlightenment and cultivation.

"Such a massive Golden Crow!" Dongfang Ye's eyes immediately widened. He carried his wolf-tooth club and circled around it.

The two Golden Crows were no different from two small mountains; their enormous size was astounding. Their entire bodies were covered in golden feathers that clanged when touched, as sharp as divine swords.

The little bald head drooled profusely, blinking his big eyes and clamoring to eat roasted Golden Crow. This was, after all, legendary divine meat.

Roasting Saint-level Golden Crows was troublesome. Even though they had just become Saints, their forms were immortal, making them very difficult to cook thoroughly.

Fortunately, this was the Sun Star, where endless fire essence gathered. It was capable of melting divine artifacts, so naturally, it could also roast Golden Crows.

Finally, they used the Divine Maiden Cauldron, throwing half a Golden Crow inside and beginning a long period of refining and roasting.

"Using a Great Saint-level weapon to roast meat," Li Tian muttered, "This truly is a misuse of such a magical artifact..."

With a loud bang, the Black Emperor emerged from the domain gate, covered in dust and ashes, its body nearly disintegrated. It was furious and exasperated, clearly having suffered a great loss.

"Damn it," it cursed, "How is it like it's specifically targeting me? This is an ancient remnant array that has become unfathomably profound after being slightly altered by someone."

Its entire body's black fur stood on end. Many blood marks appeared on its body, and there were many charred spots. It had almost perished while trying to break the array just now.

Everyone was horrified. The Black Emperor's mastery of Dao patterns was absolutely peerless, with few in the world able to match it. If even it was at its wit's end, it was undoubtedly a broken Great Emperor-level array.

"Go easy," someone cautioned. "If it really is a sleeping prehistoric god, we will all perish."

"Nonsense," the Black Emperor retorted indignantly. "So many years have passed; even if it's a humanoid creature, it would have long since passed away. It won't suddenly jump up again."

While the others tried to find a way and roast the Golden Crow, Ye Fan had already entered the depths of space to find the Human Demon.

Having obtained the approximate location from the two Golden Crows, he entered space and searched along the direction where the incident occurred, encountering no trouble.

Several Saints from other domains already knew about the Human Demon and had leaked his location, causing a huge stir in the Big Dipper Ancient Star Domain. This star domain naturally became a forbidden area, which ironically made him easier to find.

Under the starry sky, Dao flames flickered. An old man, shirtless, was seated cross-legged, rubbing a crystalline bone staff.

Ye Fan had merely ventured out to test, not expecting it to be so smooth. It seemed the Human Demon elder was also planning to depart for the Big Dipper Ancient Star.

"Could this barbarian ancestor be planning to cause trouble at the Myriad Dragon Nest?" Ye Fan's heart skipped a beat, "Otherwise, why would he be cleaning his weapon?"

If he could discover the Human Demon, this seemingly rough elder had naturally already discovered him, for his unparalleled divine sense could scan every corner of the starry sky!

"Senior..."

When the old and young appeared in the magnificent stone hall within the Sun Star, the entire group was stunned. This ancestor was simply too formidable.

He had strung a series of Golden Crows with a crimson-gold divine chain, carrying them on his back, as if he had just returned from a hunt, bringing a few pheasants with him.

Even the dominant Monkey muttered, even the rough Dongfang Ye's eyes widened, and even the tyrannical scoundrel, the big black dog, shivered.

The Human Demon perfectly demonstrated what it meant to be unrestrained and wild. No terrifying aura emanated from him, but the string of Golden Crows on his back was enough to scare Saints half to death.

The Primordial Saint didn't put on any airs. He sat on the floor in the stone hall, and the group gathered around the Divine Maiden Cauldron, beginning to enjoy the golden, glistening roasted Golden Crow Saint meat.

Jar after jar of divine wine was brought out, its fragrance wafting. Coupled with such divine meat, everyone clinked glasses and feasted heartily.

Before long, the little bald head cried, staring at the golden roasted meat with a wide mouth, drooling while wiping away tears.

"I still want to eat, but I can't..." he cried, gazing longingly at the Golden Crow wings and legs. His longing look, coupled with tear stains, made people want to laugh.

"It's okay," Ye Fan said with a smile, handing him a golden Saint wing, "I've refined the Saint essence from this meat. Eat it without worry."

The group burst into laughter, while the little bald head was greatly embarrassed.

"Elder, I can't help but feel you resemble our distant ancestor?" Dongfang Ye boldly approached during the height of their drinking and said this.

Everyone was surprised and asked the Human Demon if he had any descendants.

The Human Demon said he once had a son named Dongfang Baye, but millions of years had passed, and he was long since untraceable.

Dongfang Ye scratched his head. Their barbarian war god had risen during the Desolate Ancient Era, which was truly too far from the Primordial Era; it was impossible to trace who their distant ancestor was.

Everyone teased, telling Dongfang Ye to quickly call him "ancestor," because their attire and habits were too similar, making no need for further verification.

The array glowed brightly and Dao patterns flickered as the Human Demon, Ye Fan, the Black Emperor, and others stepped into the domain gate, arriving together at the deepest part of the Sun Star.

It had to be said, this barbarian elder was "terrifyingly fierce." As the bone staff in his hand rotated, the entire Sun Star trembled.

"Ancestor, please be careful," someone warned. "This is the sun of the Big Dipper Life Source. If it gets destroyed, you won't find Golden Crow or Qilin meat anywhere to eat."

The Human Demon had a good sense of proportion; he wasn't trying to destroy the Sun Star. He merely cleared away the obstacles with a single strike and went straight to the Great Emperor-level array.

Before this, there were many other Dao patterns densely arrayed here, providing very strong protection.

Supreme pressure surged forth, vast as a falling sky, with an unparalleled aura that could strike the nine heavens above and cleave the netherworld below, surging powerfully.

These were the laws of the ancient array, created by a supreme existence!

It was incomplete, yet it still possessed an inviolable, heaven-swallowing, earth-embracing power that was infinite and inexhaustible.

Standing so close, directly facing the divine array, everyone felt its majesty. The Human Demon's expression was solemn as he slowly waved his crystalline bone staff, tearing open a corner of the runes, about to enter the array.

Even the Black Emperor gasped. This barbarian was truly divine and mighty. Did he really intend to break a Great Emperor-level array with brute force? Even if it was incomplete, it wasn't something others could destroy.

Evidently, the Human Demon was not as crude as he appeared. He did not sweep in with brute force, but instead stepped in. He understood Dao patterns and intended to break the array with methods.

Everyone followed. The scene constantly changed, at one moment seeming to rule the nine heavens, at another, as if descending into hell... In that Primordial world, Golden Crows roared, Sky Rocs soared, and Azure Dragons flew, terrifying beyond measure.

"Huh, something's wrong," the Black Emperor said, startled. "How do I sense a familiar aura!"

"Could it be... the Great Emperor Ruthless!?" Ye Fan was also startled, because vaguely, a heaven-devouring aura was emanating, and that terrifying Dao principle was spreading.

Ahead, there was a hazy immortal glow. Chaotic energy entwined, and fire essence had turned into divine liquid. A human-shaped body was wrapped, like a self-bound divine cocoon, floating up and down.

"The Great Emperor Ruthless, she's not dead yet, just sleeping here?!"

"I've seen this person..." the Human Demon suddenly spoke. For this barbarian ancestor to change expression, one could imagine how astonishing it was!

"You've seen... was it recently or... in the Primordial Era?" The Black Emperor's voice trembled.

Everyone else's hearts were pounding violently; they were immensely nervous, because the answer could be earth-shattering!

"It was in the Primordial Era; I saw this person," the Human Demon said, staring at the cocoon in the chaotic immortal energy. At this moment, only he could see through the immortal mist, directly perceiving its origin, while others, even with Heavenly Eyes, could not.
