Chapter 525: Strange Person

"The Brick-Moving Station?"

The entire Road to the Underworld instantly became deserted. Meanwhile, the crowd that had been bottlenecking at the newspaper stand suddenly turned and surged towards the Brick-Moving Station.

"Hurry to the Brick-Moving Station to read the latest chapter, don't push me!""Grasping the sun and moon, plucking the stars; none in this world compare to me – this title is too tempting! The Alchemist Emperor must have won, but..."

There was no helping it; this was the most tantalizing plot development. Grantham had been preparing for a long time, and this was the pivotal chapter of his earth-shattering comeback. After all, the writing was not only realistic and intricate, but some of the cultivation systems described within seemed achievable, further enhancing the sense of immersion.

"Move bricks?"Zhang Xiao tore up his newspaper. He stood alone, watching the distant crowd, and took a deep breath. "I actually got angry... The Underworld truly is peculiar, so novel and unique."

His admiration grew. This mode of operation was incredibly imaginative; at the very least, as a former powerful ruler of a nation, he would never have conceived of such measures. It was indeed the Underworld, the most mysterious place of legend.

"Never mind," he thought. "This place holds great terror, and I'm currently here to gather information, some kind of knowledge or wisdom!" Still, he couldn't resist the urge to know the ending. He strode forward. "After I read this chapter, I'll stop. I'll go back to the source of the Road to the Underworld and wait for someone who might appear, someone who remembers reincarnation. Then perhaps I can..."

The Brick-Moving Office.A treant sat in a chair. The queue outside his door was even more crowded than the long line at Meng Po's place, as if he were Meng Po himself.

He kept telling the people in line, "You have to move bricks to keep reading! But, to move bricks, you first need to smelt them. That's common sense; how can you move bricks if there aren't any? All of you are powerful individuals with special talents, so your efficiency will be astonishing, and you'll finish quickly."

He continuously assigned tasks, looking exactly like a construction foreman.

The Underworld was a physical space, not a mental realm like the one Meng Mei inhabited. The soil and flowers were real, and quite powerful ghosts, having undergone countless reincarnations, naturally possessed immense talent. Their strong spiritual bodies could even materialize and interact with matter, allowing them to move bricks and construct buildings.

"Hurry up.""Go smelt!"In an instant, the entire population of the Road to the Underworld began working, as if entering an era of booming steel production, filled with passion.

"Finally, we're underway..." Mao Tiao sat on his chair, wiping sweat, and secretly glanced at the distant Bridge of Forgetfulness, which was now empty. Meng Po was still quietly reading her book.

Bringing people in to work was also part of the Fengdu construction plan. Although it was common for the Underworld to temporarily halt operations, Meng Po's calm demeanor in the face of this artificial shutdown indicated that she had been informed in advance. Otherwise, his actions would have long since led to his demise. He was well aware of Meng Po's ruthless methods; just thinking about them sent shivers down his spine.

"Friends in the live stream, are the construction blueprints almost ready? After all, many of you come from civil engineering backgrounds. We even invited Meng Mei, the land developer, to help with planning and constructing large formations that subtly align with the Heavenly Dao..."

"And to all the experts, please translate quickly! We'll make them suffer the pain of waiting for updates! Let them chase another hundred million chapters!" Mao Tiao, full of ambition, spoke to the live stream. "Also, to all viewers, if you think this is good, please send some tips."

The live stream audience: "..."

They felt it was utterly toxic. In other people's live streams, didn't everyone just sit back and enjoy? Watching hosts perform, admiring their fair skin, beautiful faces, and long legs. But here? They were watching a tree, and not only did they have to pay and tip, but they also had to help with labor, expending effort and energy.

As the bustling midday heat began to wane, work gradually came to a halt. A group of tired individuals sat down on the bricks at the construction site, collecting their hard-earned newspapers. They began reading the next chapter with immense satisfaction, feeling a profound sense of fulfillment.

"Brother, your brick-moving skills are impressive," some of the surrounding beings told Zhang Xiao, full of admiration. They were gradually beginning to understand the meaning of the term "moving bricks."

Zhang Xiao said little. After all, his cultivation level and talent were evident. He acted reclusively, ignoring the lively group discussing the plot, and quietly read his newspaper in a corner, seated on a stone brick at the construction site.

"No disappointment indeed!" He gripped the newspaper, exclaiming in satisfaction. He witnessed a thrilling, high-octane battle that made every pore of this figure, the Blade God Emperor, revered as a hero, open wide! It was incredibly exhilarating!

The final lines read:[Facing Gilgamesh, the ancient Hero-King summoned by Medusa, Grantham, the Alchemist Emperor, still effortlessly defeated him, completely suppressing the entire era and becoming the brightest sun. The Age of Alchemy was now fully inaugurated! The name of Grantham, the Sovereign Emperor who controlled the gates of truth and alchemy, resounded throughout the world. Yet, he quietly returned to the Elizabeth Guild, simply saying to the seven young witches, "I'm back." This single sentence made them wait for a hundred springs and autumns.]

Seeing this scene, Zhang Xiao was completely satisfied. It was the grand finale! He had overthrown the entire dark era, becoming invincible throughout the world, and the story should now have concluded. Furthermore, with his loved ones, the seven young witches, finally united, it was a perfect, happy ending. Sitting at the construction site, Zhang Xiao was filled with emotion and decided not to read any further. The rest of the story, he presumed, would simply be peaceful, happy daily life.
