Chapter 49: Finding a Savior to Save the World

Records from 'The Spear of the Prosperous Witch' state:

In the 214th year of the Babylonian Kingdom, the Rose Kingdom was at its zenith. The Babylonian Kingdom was defeated, and the lineage of orthodox witches was completely reduced to a vassal state. The Babylonian Kingdom officially entered a dark age.

“I’m going to the Rose Witch Kingdom in the mountains to serve the evil witches...”“Don’t think of me...”

Within the kingdom, in every street and alley, husbands bid farewell to their wives and daughters. Amidst widespread lamentations and pain, they resolutely embarked on the path of death as sacrifices. They knew that their weak spirits would inevitably perish after a single joyous indulgence by the evil witches.

Scenes of heartbreaking farewells played out in almost every corner. Such days would not cease; every month, one hundred men from the Babylonian Kingdom had to go forth as sacrifices.

In the Babylonian Kingdom that followed, men no longer needed to work. They were required to procreate wildly, having been completely reduced to reproductive tools. Each man had to have more than a dozen wives, and their daily task was to vigorously sow seeds among them, producing more males to be offered to the Rose Kingdom for the evil witches to enjoy. Even so, the future male-to-female ratio in the Babylonian Kingdom would be drastically skewed, with women far outnumbering men, likely reaching ten to one.

What an utter humiliation this was.

At the Royal Palace of Babylon, Lilith sat numbly on a long bench at the entrance, no longer having the face to sit on the throne.

“My Lady Lilith...”

Before her stood sixteen male witches, about to be sent to the Rose Cult to be humiliated. These were not ordinary men; they were traditional male witches of the orthodox sect, capable of enduring the mental frenzy of heightened states. This meant they would not die easily, but rather, would forever suffer torment. They would face unparalleled misery and the immense pain of being 'favored' daily.

“I am truly sorry...” Lilith sighed with a bitter smile, “Especially you, Garfield.”

The male witch Garfield was also one of Babylon’s strongest sorcerers, only slightly less powerful than Lilith. He was the most handsome man in all of Babylon, gentle and kind, and countless women throughout the Babylonian Kingdom adored him, secretly giving him their hearts. However, he strictly adhered to the three iron laws of sorcerers, maintaining his integrity and purity.

Garfield sighed and comforted Lilith, his expression softening. “This is not your fault. Your aptitudes are comparable, but their evil method of cultivation is simply too fast. It’s only natural that she advanced to a Five-Star Witch before you.”

Lilith was silent for a moment, then whispered, “I will work hard to reach the Five-Star Witch realm, rescue you all, and avenge this humiliation.”

Garfield shook his head with a bitter smile. “It’s already impossible. She allowed you to remain queen instead of killing you because she believes you can no longer surpass her. Her cultivation method is far faster than ours! Moreover, she has gained sixteen male witches, so her future cultivation speed will likely be three or four times faster.”

Garfield sighed. He and Lilith had been childhood sweethearts, loving each other since they were young. They underwent the witch ceremony together, survived the Blood of the Evil Eye, and became witches. They maintained a pure romantic relationship, without any physical intimacy. Their love was beautiful and innocent. Many traditional witches, both male and female, who loved each other, simply remained together purely. As the guardians of the Babylonian Kingdom, they had truly sacrificed so much.

But now, Medusa was about to seize her beloved Garfield and make him her royal consort. How could Lilith not be angry?

Garfield sighed again. “It’s alright. Leave the rest to me. I’ll find a way under her torment to change everything and defeat that incredible monster!”

“I am powerless.” Lilith couldn't help but burst into tears.

On that day, amidst nationwide mourning, sixteen male witches and one hundred ordinary men departed, led by Garfield.

“Is heaven truly abandoning our Babylonian Kingdom?” Lilith muttered blankly in the royal palace.

Year 265 of the Babylonian Kingdom.

Over fifty years had passed since that defeat. Over fifty years later, Medusa, using the sixteen male witches for cultivation, successfully broke through to a Six-Star Witch, reaching the formidable heights of the Three Witches of old. This cemented the Rose Kingdom and her title as Medusa, the Grand Monarch Empress. In that year, Medusa, the Witch of Death, was hailed by the world as the “Grand Monarch Empress who Wields Supreme Power and Death,” becoming utterly invincible!

Sixty years had passed, and the gap between Lilith and Medusa had only widened. Lilith trained diligently, practicing for over a dozen hours daily, even risking qi deviation, yet she remained a Four-Star Witch, merely on the verge of breaking through to Five-Star.

The Rose Cult had become tyrannical. Among the declining traditional witch covens, more and more were defecting to the evil witches.

“The Rose Cult is the true orthodoxy of heaven and earth!” someone declared loudly.

No traditional witch responded.

“The legendary witch Circe was reviled in life, but history has proven after her death that the path of the Two Witches was mistaken! Witches should be above all mortals, free to enjoy the men of this world as they please,” someone shouted.

The traditional witches could only cower in corners; no one dared to refute them anymore.

“Our great Witch Queen, Medusa, the Grand Monarch Empress who Wields Supreme Power and Death, suppresses this era and is invincible throughout the world!” someone sneered.

All traditional witches remained silent. Their era was slowly but surely fading away.

Xu Zhi: ???

This situation had escalated too quickly; he barely had time to react.

“Things just suddenly went south?”

“It’s only been a bit over a night. I checked the forums and saw that while you guys were struggling against those opponents, you’re suddenly on the verge of being defeated by Circe’s apprentices. Is this fair to the Two Witches who fought Circe evenly for a lifetime?”

The lineage of evil witches ushered in a dark age. While their unorthodox methods developed rapidly, such tyranny was akin to draining the pond to catch all the fish – it was unsustainable. Civilization had strayed from its proper path, and without the development of orthodox sorcerers, it would be difficult for Xu Zhi to find the alchemy he desired. My cancer will be incurable!

“A genius is needed to turn the tide,” Xu Zhi thought, feeling a headache coming on. Being a creator was truly too much to worry about.

In the primordial era, Gilgamesh emerged, leading the Western human race out of hardship. During the decline of the Great Flood era, the Three Witches appeared, leading the Western human race out of hardship. Now, in the era of the Dark Witches, there was a gap in talent; no prodigy had appeared to become a hero who would lead an age.

After all, it was too terrifying!

Medusa, the Witch of Death, the “Grand Monarch Empress who Wields Supreme Power and Death,” had reached the terrifying height of a Six-Star Legendary Witch. Who in this world could rise up and oppose her? One must know, Gilgamesh’s level back then was equivalent to a Seven-Star Epic Witch in their sorcerer system. Even the Three Witches of that era did not reach the Seven-Star stage. The current Medusa was only one level below the Hero King of old.

“I had originally thought Lilith could rise up; she seemed the most promising, capable of finding courage in shame. As the saying goes, 'thirty years to the east of the river, thirty years to its west; do not bully a poor youth' – this clearly indicated the start of a 'broken engagement' trope comeback... Who knew that after sixty years of dormancy, even her lover was snatched away, and she still hasn't made a move.”

Xu Zhi gave a bitter laugh, finding it quite logical. After all, while Lilith was indeed a genius, she wasn’t the kind of astonishing talent seen once in an epoch. The gap between them would only continue to widen.

On the other hand, the Phoenix couldn't possibly help. It was still in the desert, just beginning to develop rudimentary intelligence, like a several-year-old infant. Empress Medusa, after reigning supreme, had once visited the desert and was instantly injured by the Phoenix.

“How can such a terrifying creature exist in this world? It has only recently been born, yet it has already reached the level of a Seven-Star Epic Witch, the same level as the Hero King Gilgamesh. Could it be a deity in its infancy, descended from the heavens?”

Medusa was greatly shocked. If the Phoenix had not intended to spare her, she would have died instantly. How vast was the gap of one cultivation realm? She quietly returned to her royal palace and recuperated for several years.

Xu Zhi, however, was speechless. This individual had already emulated Gilgamesh of old, becoming invincible in the world and beginning to explore this land.

“Let me just ask this! Is there no hero to save the world? Is there no one to rein her in? This is too unreasonable! Evil rules the world, and justice is to perish? Is there no fairness left in this world? No divine justice? No heavenly intervention?”

This doesn't align with socialist core values!

Xu Zhi had a terrible headache. “My alchemy potions...”

After waiting sixty years, Lilith seemed to have completely lost hope. If no peerless genius emerged to save the world, then he would have to find a way to create one himself?

“How can I do that?” Xu Zhi frowned. “Figures like Gilgamesh and the Three Witches are one-in-a-million elites, possessing extraordinary wisdom, ability, and talent... Only they could cultivate from scratch and hope to defeat the strongest existence in the current era, a terrifying Six-Star Witch!”

Where could he find such a person? A novice cultivating from scratch, somehow beating the world's strongest? Impossible to find! Monsters like Gilgamesh and the Three Witches were simply too rare!

Xu Zhi pondered, then a faint smile suddenly appeared on his face. He looked at the small sandbox, an idea forming.

Who said there wasn’t one? Wasn’t there a prominent figure right here? Looking at his resume, his life was practically a cheat code. He was terrifyingly brilliant, just over forty years old, yet had already dabbled in and researched various fields, a tech industry tycoon with a net worth of tens of billions.

Xu Zhi looked at the scientist, who was currently engrossed in the game, still climbing the tech tree in his sandbox and casually gardening in his yard. “Good thing I had a contingency plan back then. Buddy, please help me out with some trouble now... In the world of witches, knowledge is power. I’ll just have you transmigrate into my sandbox witch world and climb that tech tree to your heart’s content.”
