A group of bootlickers.

Xu Zhi smiled faintly. "I like it, though."

With only fifty slots available, demand naturally far outstripped supply—a classic case of too many wolves and too little meat.

Xu Zhi, a graduate from a prestigious university, had always been a tireless worker during his student days. While intelligent, his current achievements were undoubtedly a result of immense dedication. As a poor student from a rural background, he spent his school years relentlessly studying, rarely playing any games. Now, he displayed an almost maniacal intensity. "You want to play this game without expert-level evolutionary biology knowledge?"

Let the world feel pain.

He was no longer the person he once was.

He would no longer let those foolish players relax. He needed them to feel pressured, as he intended to create a behind-the-scenes team to deduce species for all the myriad worlds. He wanted these sandbox players to undergo natural selection, learn the most profound knowledge, and do the hardest work for him!

"So, let me see what caliber these people are," Xu Zhi murmured. Sitting leisurely in front of his computer, he casually opened a research paper. As a powerful figure behind the scenes, a great creator, he naturally needed to assess the capabilities of his subordinates.

The paper was titled:

《Biological Structure of J-20 Fighter-like Organisms: Evolutionary Hypothesis of Vertebrate Hollow-Bone Birds!》

It was a lengthy treatise, nearly ten thousand words long, richly illustrated with diagrams, including DNA structures, and schematic evolutionary anatomical diagrams. Every point was thoroughly researched and well-substantiated, demonstrating the feasibility of the hypothesis.

It was terrifying! Simply terrifying!

Xu Zhi gasped.

How long had it been? Heaven knew what these people had gone through! They had written such daunting professional papers, so profound that many of the specialized concepts were utterly beyond his comprehension, impossibly deep.

He thought it was an isolated case.

He then opened another email, revealing yet another research report, tens of thousands of words long and spanning a dozen pages, incredibly detailed with text and illustrations.

《Electrophorus Structure Deduction: The Hypothesis of Lightning Bird Evolution!》

Xu Zhi realized that these people were truly insane. They were a hundred times more serious than he had been during his university days, even when writing academic papers to submit to his professors, obsessively poring over data and constructing hypotheses.

—When it came to playing games, they were deadly serious!

Xu Zhi himself couldn't understand it all, so he had to rely on the Zerg Mother Nest's auxiliary brain to help with the screening. As for any ghostwritten submissions, he ignored them. If someone truly lacked the ability, they would eventually be eliminated anyway, given the nature of the elimination system.

"It seems that this 'Origin of All Species in the Myriad Worlds,' the homeland of all extraordinary creatures, is finally getting on track," Xu Zhi mused, glancing at the miniature sandbox in his yard.

"Brothers, work hard!"

"Don't let others snatch your spots."

A group of tiny ants, shamed into action, were evolving furiously, competing fiercely with other species through natural selection, terrified of being kicked out of the closed beta slots.

The screening results should be out by tomorrow morning. At that point, there would be a complete reshuffle, and he greatly anticipated their evolutionary achievements.

Xu Zhi was quite satisfied with the situation here. He then looked towards the large sandbox world. More than a day had passed since he last imparted knowledge, which translated to over a hundred years in the sandbox world, and the rudiments of a civilization had begun to form.

Over those hundred-plus years, for Babylon, it had been a period of immense tranquility, yet also one of frenetic growth.

The three witches at the Amyah Pool, originally on the verge of a fierce battle, found their tense atmosphere suppressed once more with the appearance of Hermes, the God of Wisdom. After hearing Hermes' words, witnessing his miraculous abilities, and the glorious future he painted, the three began to painstakingly research, pursuing the immense power of longevity and immortality, along with the triple knowledge of alchemy, meditation, and witchcraft.

In the 36th year of Babylon, the three witches fully integrated a cultivation meditation method. Their divine power increased significantly, and they compiled it into a book—《The Witches' Elementary Meditation and Introduction》—which was selectively granted to the other witches. The strained relationship between the three witches was thus eased. The orthodox spiritual meditation method they had developed far surpassed Circe's method of spiritual indulgence. Under the pressure from the other two, Circe stopped preying on tribal men and settled down to be an orthodox witch.

In the 47th year of Babylon, one of the strongest giant beasts, the Baboko Beast, attacked the tribe. The three witches fought tirelessly. In a moment between life and death, Medea achieved enlightenment in witchcraft, manifesting the War Hammer, an invisible air hammer that descended from the heavens, destroying large swathes of trees and killing the Baboko Beast. Medea, the witch who commanded disordered war and glory, bathed in blood, emerging into a new realm. In the same year, Cassandra, sensing the energies of heaven and earth while cultivating herbs, gained enlightenment, mastering the healing witchcraft, 'Dew of Spring.' The following year, Circe gained enlightenment in dark witchcraft, mastering 'Cursed Doll.'

In the 57th year of Babylon, witchcraft flourished. The three witches completely refined their respective three major systems. By this point, meditation and witchcraft had achieved significant progress, but the legendary and elusive alchemy remained undiscovered. Babylon expanded beyond ten tribes, boasting thirty powerful witches.

In the 103rd year of Babylon, the three great witches of Babylon developed several complete forms of witchcraft and compiled 《The Gate of Witch Truth》, which documented seventeen different types of witchcraft. Wielding wooden staffs, the witches waged war in the Batuqing'er Giant Tree Forest, purging powerful giant beasts. Wherever they went, the wails of giant beasts echoed.

In the 139th year of Babylon, the nation of Babylon was founded, marking its first year. The three witches divided the rule of the land among themselves. The following year, civil strife erupted within the Babylonian royal palace, causing widespread suffering. Circe, the Witch of Curses, displayed terrifying power, fighting two against one. She then defected, leading her subordinate witches to flee afar and establish the 'Thorns of Rose' church sect. Thus began the first year of Babylonian unrest.

Xu Zhi stood on a chair, sighing with emotion. After observing for a while with his binoculars, he quietly put them away. Only a short time had passed for him – he had just integrated the player sandboxes and accompanied the girl to a class reunion – yet over a hundred years had already flown by in the world he observed, witnessing too many wars and twists.

"I knew Circe wouldn't be content," he mused. Xu Zhi smiled faintly. "Although she outwardly submitted to the orthodox meditation method, which was three or four times faster than her crude approach, and declared she'd abandoned her old ways in front of the others, she still couldn't resist her lonely nights in secret."

Over these years, Circe had secretly continued to research her own spiritual meditation method, succumbing to desires and indulging in extreme pleasure, though it had gone undiscovered. As for why she wasn't discovered? It was because she simply no longer dared to prey on the men within her own tribe. So, what did she use to alleviate her loneliness? Naturally, it wasn't people, but evil eyes. She secretly imprisoned several evil eyes and used them for private indulgence. Xu Zhi was genuinely shocked when the intelligent main brain explained this. This was probably the legendary 'tentacle play,' wasn't it!

Afterward, building on the foundation of meditation, she researched and developed her new cultivation meditation method. Its progress far outpaced conventional meditation, and in Xu Zhi's view, it was akin to an art of the bedchamber. Her spiritual cultivation, secretly practiced over these years, gradually surpassed that of the other two again. Then, behind their backs, she corrupted a group of witches who joined her in their fall, no longer preserving their chastity or adhering to the three strict laws of witches, becoming fallen dark witches.

Just after the nation was founded, Circe finally could no longer restrain herself and began to target men. After so many years with the evil eye monsters, it was simply too unbearable; she needed normal men. Gradually, men in the tribe began to disappear. Medea and Cassandra began to investigate, and a great battle erupted. Circe defected!

Xu Zhi didn't want to concern himself too much with wars and grudges; his focus was solely on the progress of civilization. "Meditation and witchcraft have appeared," he thought, "but unfortunately, the mysterious and elusive alchemy, and potions, still haven't developed into a system."

He felt an urgency within him, yet there was nothing he could do but gradually calm his mind.

"Since they have already deduced the path, then I can also begin to cultivate along the routes they've pioneered, spiritual meditation and witchcraft, can't I?"

Xu Zhi smiled, finding it quite interesting. "The foundation of all their civilization is built upon the Evil Eye gene. Intelligent Sub-brain, integrate the first gene—the Evil Eye—into my gene chain."
