Chapter 319: Increasingly Mysterious (Extra for the Leader Who Did This)

Upon seeing the newcomer, Shira's face turned ashen as she recognized him as Uncle Messiah.

He had finally arrived. The Origin Demon God indeed lived up to his ruthless reputation.

Albert scanned the bar. Everyone inside had their heads bowed, pretending to eat and drink, but they were clearly terrified and silent. The entire bar was eerily quiet, as if it were just an ordinary restaurant.

Albert merely smiled. He had not come to act aggressively but to convey a message on behalf of the Demon God Medusa.

The message he was asked to deliver struck him as incredibly bizarre.

Albert said he had never expected it was truly him. He then gave a wry smile, admitting his old age was natural since he had cast aside his body to become a wraith, surviving by sleeping deep in the Underworld, unlike the other person who remained eternally young.

Xu Zhi looked at the old man, feeling as if not much time had passed, perhaps only a little over ten days.

After a moment's hesitation, Albert spoke, saying the Demon God Medusa had sent him to ask if the other still recalled those nights they had spent together under the starry sky.

The Quasi-Emperors, who had been eating with their heads down nearby, were utterly bewildered.

Their minds went blank; they seemed to have frozen. This was not the terrifying scene they had imagined, where the entire city of Veria would be obliterated and they would die from the aftershocks. Instead, the tone was remarkably peaceful, like old friends reminiscing, rather than an accusation or a challenge.

They wondered about the promised certain death.

Was he not supposed to attack and kill immediately?

It turned out the Monarch Emperor Messiah knew the Demon God.

Their expressions became complicated; they found it incredibly strange. And that phrase, about remembering those nights spent together, sounded like an accusation from someone betrayed by a heartless lover.

The next second, however, they quickly dismissed the thought, instantly denying it. Perhaps it was just a coincidence; nothing like that could be happening. It was probably just an inquiry about a specific matter.

As powerful Quasi-Emperors, they were still quite composed internally.

Xu Zhi also fell silent for a moment.

He knew this was indeed an inquiry about something specific.

Others did not understand the implication, but he did.

Medusa was asking if he shared memories with Bai Xiaosheng and had seen the scenes of Bai Xiaosheng and her studying together at night.

Outwardly, she was incredibly fierce, but she had revealed her inner softness to Bai Xiaosheng, studying alongside him. If he had seen those moments, she would kill him to silence him and reclaim Bai Xiaosheng.

So, Xu Zhi responded by asking what nights they were referring to, stating that he and Medusa did not know each other.

The surrounding Quasi-Emperors continued drinking in the bar, pretending not to have heard.

But they were starting to lose their composure.

They were becoming frantic internally.

How could they not know each other?

Otherwise, given the Demon God's personality, she would have already blasted him to bits.

The Monarch Emperor Messiah remembered countless historical events, yet he could not remember his nights with Medusa?

They speculated, feeling that something might be amiss. Although they thought such a guess was highly unlikely, it was indeed strange now. Could there truly be some obscure relationship?

They really wanted to run.

They did not want to listen, thinking that the more they knew, the faster they would die.

Their minds were collapsing. The Undead Skeleton Mages, the giant-skinned Orcs, the greatsword human Swordsmen—none dared to be the first to stand up, continuing to pretend to drink with their heads bowed.

Yet, Albert spoke again. He conveyed that if the other did not remember those nights, it was well. The Demon God had said that only his heart belonged to her, Medusa.

Everyone was dumbfounded.

They were roaring internally, completely losing their minds.

But before they could fully react, Albert delivered the second half of the message, stating that as for the Monarch Emperor Messiah himself, his very being belonged to Ermine.

A collective gasp was heard.

Everyone's faces became utterly blank and stunned, as they drew in a sharp breath.

So, it was not just Medusa; even the Emperor of the Underworld had been betrayed?

Their chopsticks clattered to the floor, their legs turned to jelly from fear, and they trembled. This was too terrifying. Was he really juggling two relationships?

Xu Zhi was speechless, but he instantly understood Medusa's underlying meaning.

They had already conspired to divide him up, literally splitting him in half.

He, as Emperor Messiah, would belong to Ermine, while his heart—that is, Bai Xiaosheng within him—would belong to Medusa.

Xu Zhi replied that he understood, but he would not agree to their proposal.

Those around him were even more distraught, unable to believe their ears.

Shira, nearby, was quietly collecting chopsticks and pretending to hold a bowl, also terrified and stuttering again.

Shira thought to herself, witnessing the scene. It was Medusa, the Origin Demon God, the ancestral Demon God who had granted them all their sources of power. The former Emperor Peter Han had been blown to smithereens just for saying a purple-blue flower was not red. And Uncle Messiah actually...!?

He was so amazing!

Shira's small hand covered her mouth, her eyes wide with a mix of awe and disbelief.

Uncle Messiah was actually this powerful, and not just concerning the Demon God, but also the Emperor of the Underworld...

Albert then asked his next question, conveying that the Demon God wished him to ask one last question: if he believed they could win this battle.

The surroundings grew even more silent, utterly still. Messiah's mystery had ascended to an even greater height in everyone's minds.

Two supreme ancient beings were actually seeking his opinion on this war.

Everyone watched intently, awaiting the Monarch Emperor Messiah's answer. Given the current situation, with deities on both sides engaged in a standoff and fierce fighting, the powerful individuals of the Potion Land greatly outnumbered their opponents, making victory seem inevitable.

However, Emperor Messiah responded that victory or defeat was uncertain.

This instantly shocked everyone once more.

Did that mean the Primordial World still had a hidden card?

Many Quasi-Emperors' expressions changed, wondering if the front lines could collapse at any moment.

Albert immediately moved, his face extremely grave. He stated that he must report this quickly to the two supreme beings. He knew that if two Demon Gods had sent him to ask, it meant the other's words were trustworthy.

They had reference value, especially since this was a world-level war.

Albert announced he would take his leave first.

Albert vanished from the bar.

The surrounding Quasi-Emperors breathed a sigh of relief, feeling their entire bodies go slack. It had been terrifying to walk so close to the edge of death.

At this point, the entire long history had been recounted, revealing historical truths. However, the true identity of Monarch Emperor Messiah remained unrevealed; he himself was a new, immense mystery within the long annals of history.

In everyone's minds, he brought forth an even larger, unknown, mysterious fog.

They wondered who exactly Monarch Emperor Messiah was.

Their minds were utterly in turmoil.

It was as if one hole had not been filled, yet new ones had been dug, and even the Demon God seemed to have some obscure, undefined relationship with him.

One Quasi-Emperor said farewell to Monarch Emperor Messiah.

Another said he would take his leave too.

A third said the front lines might be in trouble and he would go check.

They eventually departed, their hearts unable to bear it any longer. Besides, the historical recounting had fully concluded, and the bar was about to close, so there was no reason for them to stay.

The bar became completely empty, with everyone gone without a trace.

Xu Zhi calmly rose, looked at the empty bar, and slowly walked out. He stated that the era of Monarch Emperor Messiah had been fully recounted, bringing a perfect close. He said he should now go elsewhere, and since he could not yet fully comprehend his own heart, he would set that aside for now and attend to more pressing matters.

Shira's voice trembled as she quickly bundled her belongings, wanting to follow him, asking Uncle where he was going.

Xu Zhi replied he was going to the front lines, to the Great Blood Domain, to witness a piece of history. He told her that if she wished to come, she might follow.

Shira asked what history, puzzled.

Xu Zhi smiled. He said he was going to witness current history. This was a war between two realms, a true end and a new beginning, about to erupt completely. He feared the victor would soon be decided. He wondered if it would bring new life or destruction, and who would win and who would lose.

Shira trembled, asking how victory or defeat could be decided so soon when they had been fighting for over a decade already.

She recalled Uncle Messiah's words. Were the front lines truly in trouble? After all, the enemy was far weaker than them!

In reality, Xu Zhi was right. The Primordial World was at a great disadvantage, but they had a group of players, and an outside world had been secretly plotting for a long time, causing significant disruption.

Now that the history had been recounted, it was time to go and see; the war between the two realms was the real matter at hand.
