Chapter 116: However, the Clever Me Had Already Seen Through Everything

This book can be found on Tianya or Tianya Online Library.

The moment this post appeared, it caused a sensation. The forum was abuzz with discussions, and curiosity burned intensely. If it had been any other unknown individual, people would have dismissed it as an attention-grabbing stunt, but this person was completely different.

Within just ten minutes, the game space, which was still under construction, had already seen a massive influx of at least six to seven thousand users for its beta testing. Time and again, people had heard that a "big boss" had been staying inside, even holding a hidden profession.

“This person is brutal! Far more ruthless than anyone else, and incredibly defiant!” This was the general consensus about him. Who else could be more hardcore than someone who voluntarily spent eight months in solitude? Yet, he was posting something like this.

“Heh heh, big boss, don't fool us.”

“Yeah, I've seen this trick before. You probably suffered a big loss yourself and want to trick us into joining you to suffer together, right?”

They weren't fools; they were sharp, so how could they fall for it? However, they remained highly cautious and continued to read the post, just in case something real was revealed. Little did they know, it was better not to look, because once they did, it instantly created a storm in their minds, making them restless.

The post read as follows:

“Hello everyone, I’m Bai Xiaojun. I believe you’ve all heard my name; I’m that player who can ‘grind’ the most.

Below are my personal review and insights. First, regarding its virtuality: having experienced it firsthand, it truly is a terrifyingly realistic second life. The sensory perceptions are extraordinarily real. For this, I am immensely grateful to the game developers for their conscience in opening up this entirely new cutting-edge technology for everyone to experience.

However, instead of gratitude, there are now widespread complaints. On major renowned websites, the anticipated rating for the new sandbox game ‘Wizard Simulator’ has dropped to a low 3.7. You cannot fathom the painstaking efforts of the game development team, and I feel it’s unfair to the game planning team!

Without further ado, I will now vindicate the game developers by deeply exploring and analyzing their underlying intentions in every aspect.

Problem 1: Meditation.

This game has always marketed itself on realism and being hardcore. The current cultivation system, due to its extreme realism, requires starting from scratch, which is also why everyone criticizes it. At first, I also found it too mechanical and tedious. But then I began to wonder: does the game planner have some deeper meaning behind this? I experienced it for a long time and eventually understood the crux of the matter.

I discovered that meditation in the Wizard world is somewhat similar to Earth's Taoist Qigong, Yoga meditation, or simply resting with eyes closed for thirty minutes. It allows one to focus their mind, calm their spirit, and soothe their mood. Why would the design team do this? It’s to help us slow down our pace of life, for the sake of our health.

A modern magazine report indicates that people today, due to their excessively fast pace of life, experience excessive mental stress and fatigue, and more or less suffer from psychological issues.

And this meditation greatly helps in achieving mental peace and clarity of thought. It’s like getting a free mental meditation room. A gym is for a healthy body, and a meditation room is for a healthy mind. You pay to go to a gym, but this meditation room costs nothing and even saves you time! Personally, I believe this is a place for us to relax, a game sandbox developed for our health. Meditating for an hour every day is absolutely beneficial for both mind and body. As for finding it boring, that's because you yourselves meditate for too long and are reluctant to log out!

Problem 2: Advancement in Realm.

Difficult and tedious cultivation is also one of the reasons for complaints. Who can stand cultivating as a Level 2 Wizard, sitting in meditation for over a year? Actually, everyone has fallen into a misunderstanding: this was never meant for just one person to cultivate!

According to my speculation, one physical account is meant for countless people to cultivate, just like how countless people now take turns experiencing things across generations. One account could probably allow a thousand people to log in in shifts, meditating alternately to relax their minds and alleviate daily mental stress. Cultivating this way, the speed of progress wouldn't be slow at all!

Problem 3: Fun Factor.

Everyone says, ‘This is so boring, you dumb game developers! All you give us is an empty space and tell us to cultivate, right?’ ‘It’s meaningless!’ ‘It’s too stupid!’ These are common sentiments.

Actually, everyone has overlooked the game planning team’s meticulous efforts! This is a space for us to freely develop, just like in 'Spore Evolution'. You start with a single cell, but there are actually infinite possibilities. How you want to play is up to us. What can a group of wizards do inside?

First, it’s a free-form community that we build ourselves. We can build houses and create a community paradise. Furthermore, we can build a PvP arena mode. We can spontaneously set up a combat stage for real-person fighting and create our own power rankings. I believe many people are addicted to fighting games like 'King of Fighters'. Now, imagine real-person combat on a stage, with dazzling spells, showing off skills, and achieving incredibly cool win streaks—just thinking about it is exhilarating!

Secondly, besides the PvP arena, we can also create a ‘Wizard's Glory’ tower-pushing game. We can set up a ‘Summoner’s Canyon’ scenario, with five people on one side and five on the other. A group of wizards, relying on researched wizardry skills—wind, water, fire—then begin pushing towers.

“All forces advance!”“Enemy crystal destroyed!”

Real-life 'Honor of Kings'—just thinking about it is thrilling, isn't it? The gameplay possibilities in this area are inherently infinite, yet you claim there’s no fun? Are you fools?!

I am utterly heartbroken and indignant! And you all claim to be so smart, with an abundance of online talent, yet what's the outcome? You've slandered the game development team who are so good to us? Becoming 'haters' and lowering the game's rating? I give you a look; feel it yourselves!

So, after deeply discussing the three aspects: 'Meditation Problem,' 'Tedious Cultivation,' and 'Fun Factor,' the answer becomes obvious. In everyone’s minds, I imagine a blueprint has already formed. Yes, the future model of this game will undoubtedly be as follows—chop off my dick if I’m wrong:

In the future, one game body will be shared by hundreds, even thousands of people, logging in alternately each day to play. Then, after meditating daily to relieve our real-life mental stress, we can each go play in various entertainment scenarios, arenas, and engage in various DIY games and community exchange activities, bringing people closer together. It will be incredibly awesome!”

Holy cow! A Wizard Community!

After reading the analytical post, the online community was stunned! At this moment, with such deep analysis from every angle, everyone felt a bit unsettled. They hadn’t imagined that this 'big boss' had researched so profoundly and uncovered so many hidden secrets. And yet, we hadn't seen through any of this. It was truly embarrassing for us netizens, who had always prided ourselves on our wit. Some even felt a degree of regret.

“No wonder he’s the big boss who’s been lurking for eight months! He actually analyzed the game development team's true intentions, and it all connects perfectly. Once you think about it, it really makes sense!”

“So that’s it! Digging deeper, there’s actually such an intricate truth. I initially thought the developers just casually released a half-finished product, intending to scam us!”

“Apology! My sincerest apologies to the game development team!”“Apology 1”“Apology 2”

“The game development team is probably bewildered too, like, ‘Holy cow! There’s a genius here! Our creative game ideas, which we secretly researched countless times, were seen through at a glance and even published online!’”

Instantly, countless people became excited, and public opinion immediately shifted. They hailed the developers as a ‘conscientious team,’ confirming that it still had that authentic charm. This game, just by hearing about its various possibilities, seemed incredibly fun. Which current game allows players to choose their own playstyle? To build their own game content? Game scenarios? None. This game has virtually pioneered a new genre.

Upon seeing the collective exclamations, Bai Xiaojun also breathed a sigh of relief. With an air of confidence, he lightly chuckled, “This game development team is as hardcore as ever…” He seemed like Zhuge Liang reincarnated, calmly knowing everything. His gaze left the computer screen and drifted to the bright sunlight outside the window, as he softly murmured, “The development team even wanted to surprise us this way, hiding their creativity amidst public criticism. They truly put in painstaking efforts! However, the clever me had already seen through everything.”
