Those familiar with relevant medical knowledge understand that cancer cells are not foreign viruses; they are rebellious cells originating within the human body, "traitors" to its own tissues. Uncontrolled by the body, they possess the terrifying characteristic of unlimited proliferation and immortality within.
By now, Xu Zhi was no longer a pure human. He had adjusted his gene chain, which now contained two gene loci: the first for human genes, and the second for Evil Eye genes.
Essentially, Xu Zhi was already a Zerg, but he had no desire to replace his human genes. If he did, he would no longer be a humanoid creature.
As for the cancer cells, they were originally Xu Zhi's normal cells. After transforming into cancerous cells, they acquired the characteristic structures of both human cells and Evil Eye cells, just like his current normal cells.
"This is also why the more powerful my life level becomes, the more powerful the cancer cells are," Xu Zhi murmured. "If more powerful genes were integrated into my cells, the rebellious cancer cells would also possess more powerful genes... Now, these are no longer purely ordinary human cancer cells, but special cancer cells with Evil Eye genes!"
Xu Zhi took a deep breath.
"They're becoming more powerful. I'll have to see if they can be dealt with."
Xu Zhi sealed the dry ice in a special small coffin and secretly tossed it to the edge of the sandbox. Then, assuming his player identity, he covertly entered the world portal, arrived in the large sandbox world, carried the item, selected a valley, and began digging.
By this time, a night had passed. The moment Xu Zhi received his delivery in the real world corresponded to another fifty to sixty years passing in the great sandbox.
Babylonian Kingdom, Year 851.
A special type of magic box creature and a spell-construction structure spread silently throughout the three kingdoms.
After extreme astonishment, various academies and sects began to collectively refine spatial magic boxes. These were designated as treasured artifacts of their respective factions, used for storing data, various precious secret treasures, and even evolving into diverse witchcraft for trapping enemies or transporting animals and food.
As a result, the three wizard kingdoms' power greatly increased.
War often significantly advances the development of civilization.
Babylonian Kingdom, Year 866.
The Evil Gods grew increasingly powerful and unstoppable.
Deep in the Balchik Mountains, traces of the Evil God "Crawling Chaos" Nyarlathotep were discovered. Emperor Armin and Emperor Medusa mobilized their entire nations, severely wounding the Evil God.
The following year, Babylonian Kingdom, Year 867.
Captured wizards began to defect to the Evil Gods.
"We have seen everything clearly!"
"We cannot stop the Evil Gods from descending!"
"We simply cannot kill them! We can only watch them grow stronger!"
They were fervent, worshipful, and mad, even sacrificing their own blood to draw ritualistic totems and array patterns, hiding them in various towns to help accelerate the Evil Gods' descent.
In every era and every world, there are such traitors who yield to intimidation, break their own backs, and become informants just to survive. The wizarding world was no exception.
Babylonian Kingdom, Year 875.
The Evil God organization became increasingly restless.
They gathered a large number of defecting wizards and even established their own underground Evil God churches. Evil, terror, invasion, and death became synonymous with them.
Although these Evil Gods were still only at the level of Fifth-tier wizards, they showed an uncontrollable growth trend. It was impossible to effectively kill them; they could only be allowed to grow stronger.
In the same year, the seven Evil Gods fought amongst themselves, leaving only six. Spies from one nation had already been eliminated from this otherworldly survival game, strangled by one of them.
"They're fighting amongst themselves? How brutal!"
"No, they are fighting and fusing! They are about to take shape! The Unifier of All Things, Cthulhu, the ancestral Evil God, is about to awaken!"
Babylonian Kingdom, Year 879.
Emperor Medusa's lifespan was nearing its end; she was close to death. Emperor Armin arrived late at night, saying, "When those Evil Gods attacked the Phoenix, they carried Phoenix blood. After the God of Wisdom defeated them, I collected some of that Phoenix blood from them."
Armin presented a Second Bloodline Expansion Potion.
Medusa looked dazed for a moment, then gave a half-smile. "You're giving this to me? Weren't you my mortal enemy before?"
Armin shook her head. "One day, I will suppress you again on behalf of my teacher, but not now. After my teacher's death, you are the sole hope for our world."
"Heh? The sole hope."
Medusa did not refuse, accepting the forbidden divine potion, but stated, "I will not easily use it until the very last moment. That is the Alchemist Emperor's 'Gate of Truth,' not mine. I am close to finding my own 'Truth.'"
"How wonderful! I don't care whose hope I become. I only care that another insurmountable enemy has appeared before me." Medusa chuckled softly like a gentle girl, a look of contentment on her face. She lowered her head, returned to her alchemy table, picked up a microscope, and resumed her research.
"The life and death of cells?"
Armin smiled and left silently.
She knew Medusa's character; she wasn't truly evil. She was merely obsessively pursuing power, using any means necessary, wishing to witness the world's highest vistas. To seek truth, living for a single dawn and dying by dusk was sufficient for her.
"In a sense, you are the true wizard, a seeker of truth dedicated to exploring it... I hope you can find the true meaning of death."
Babylonian Kingdom, Year 891.
A tutor from Babylon Academy, leading disciples on an expedition, saw a pillar of chilling white light soaring into the sky from deep within the mountains.
"What is that?"
They pressed on through the snow and wind, their wizard robes frosted, shivering from the cold. Upon reaching the area, they discovered an ancient underground ruin, a cave with murals suspected to be from the ancient Sumerian era.
As they continued digging, three extremely crude murals appeared before their eyes.
The first mural depicts the ancient agricultural era: a colossal giant, tens of thousands of feet tall, standing amidst towering trees, holding three treasures, bending down to look at a tiny insectoid ape.
The second mural shows a vast, incredibly prosperous city. A majestic man sits on a high throne, holding a long sword, unifying the world. Civilization has reached its peak.
The third mural depicts a terrifying scene of cataclysm. Beneath a colossal giant, countless corpses litter the ground, and the man who wielded the long sword lies in a pool of blood.
The news quickly spread.
"Ruins of ancient Sumerian civilization?"
"A tomb? How could there be a tomb? The Great Flood of that year swept everything away!"
"Could this tomb be that of Gilgamesh from the ancient era?"
Instantly, the situation became completely inflamed.
In the Babylonian era, no one had ever seen the true form of a god; even Mercury had descended as a substitute.
Gilgamesh, however, was the only one who had truly come into contact and communicated with a deity's true form, and that was the legendary supreme God of the world—the Creator God, an indescribable being who created worlds.
Crunch! Crunch!
A chilling chewing sound echoed.
Deep in the dense forest, a butcher, reeking of stench, put down his meat hook and licked his scarlet lips. "The institute wants me to go investigate."
A giant beast, carrying a tombstone on its back, suddenly turned its head, looking in another direction in the mountains. "Gilgamesh? The ancient Sumerian civilization before the Great Flood, that supreme man who dared to wield a sword against a god! I must get there before the other nations!"
A strange wizard wearing headphones was also walking along the bustling wizarding street. "Perhaps I can find some information about ancient civilizations, the truth of this world's history! Or perhaps, I'll find the lost Sword of Damocles."
The tomb of the oldest Hero King, Gilgamesh, had appeared, and the world stirred with anticipation.
