Qinglian Mountain Range, Qinglian City.
The city was bustling with people, a constant flow of carriages and horses filling the air with noise.
The Wang family now controlled four subterranean cities, developing faster than ever before. With four third-tier immortal mines and other cultivation resources, they were able to nurture more immortals. As these immortals matured, they fortified the four cities, creating a virtuous cycle.
In a beautiful manor, alive with birdsong and the fragrance of flowers, Wang Yixin, Wang Mengshan, and Cui Yao sat in a cyan stone pavilion, sipping tea and chatting.
“It’s now confirmed that three Witch cultivators at the Grand Luo Golden Immortal stage issued Sky Witch Orders,” Wang Mengshan stated. “One of them died, another’s whereabouts are unknown, and the third is Granny Sky Witch. However, she was injured by a Nine-Colored Chaos Beast in a major battle over 500,000 years ago and hasn’t emerged from seclusion since; she’s likely still healing.” He had been tasked with identifying the Witch cultivators who issued the Sky Witch Orders, and after years of searching, he had finally pinpointed three individuals.
“Are there no others besides these three?” Wang Yixin asked. “And what’s special about the Sky Witch Order issued by Granny Sky Witch?” Different Witch clans issue Sky Witch Orders with distinct designs.
“We don’t have specific details about the Sky Witch Orders yet,” Wang Mengshan replied. “After all, those who receive them might not draw their patterns, but I’ve already sent people to keep a lookout.”
Wang Yixin nodded, then turned to Cui Yao. “Is there any news about the remnants of the Murong family?” she inquired. The Murong family had left behind hidden agents whose whereabouts even Fairy Luoshui was unaware of, making their pursuit exceptionally difficult.
“None,” Cui Yao admitted. “There’s nothing to go on.” Cui Yao’s expression was troubled; they simply had too little information. The Wang family also had their own hidden agents, Wang Chuanming being one of them. However, Wang Chuanming was a high-level operative, and ordinary clan members had no knowledge of his whereabouts. Even Wang Mengshan, despite reaching the Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage, couldn’t uncover it.
Just as Wang Yixin was about to speak, Wang Huanyu and Wang Chan descended from the sky, appearing above the courtyard. Their sudden appearance startled Wang Yixin and the others.
“Why are you back?” Wang Yixin questioned. “And where is the Old Ancestor?”
“Where is Qiulin?” Wang Huanyu interjected. “We have something very important to discuss with him.”
“He’s in seclusion at Jiugong Peak,” Wang Yixin replied. “Is it that important?”
Wang Huanyu nodded, stating, “This matter is extremely urgent; we need to see him immediately.”
Wang Yixin led them to Jiugong Peak and sent a sound transmission talisman to Wang Qiulin. A short while later, Wang Qiulin emerged and invited them inside.
“What happened?” Wang Qiulin asked curiously.
“This is not the place to speak,” Wang Huanyu stated. “Let’s talk inside the Myriad Spirit Scroll.” Wang Huanyu conjured the Myriad Spirit Scroll, causing it to float in mid-air. Wang Changsheng had upgraded the Myriad Spirit Scroll to a mid-grade spatial immortal artifact, and conversing within such an artifact significantly reduced the chance of eavesdropping. Wang Huanyu flew into the Myriad Spirit Scroll, followed by Wang Qiulin.
Soon after, they emerged, and Wang Qiulin’s expression was grave.
“I have a way to contend with that diviner,” Wang Qiulin said, “but it requires some rare array-laying materials to set up a third-tier grand array.”
“What materials do you need? I’ll send people to collect them!” Wang Yixin offered. Wang Qiulin listed over a dozen materials, none of which Wang Yixin had ever heard of.
“I’ll ask Ancestor Haitang to make a trip to Jinxiao City,” Wang Yixin decided. “We need to get these items as quickly as possible.”
Wang Qiulin nodded. “The sooner, the better,” he stated. “Grandfather and Grandmother are waiting for our help!”
Wang Yixin agreed and turned to leave.
In the Savage Immortal Realm, within the Star Quni Sea, lay Star Quni Island. Inside the Star Quni Hall, Jin Sheng sat on the main seat, his brows deeply furrowed. Immortal Lord Lieyang and Fang Yuyao sat in chairs nearby, their expressions solemn.
“Fellow Daoists,” Jin Sheng said, his brow furrowed, “we’ve performed these divinations many times. Haven’t you noticed? This person is constantly moving. By the time you reach the predicted location, they’ve already left. If I were in their position, I’d also keep moving after such a significant loss. They won’t visit market cities anymore, so continuing these divinations is pointless—it’s like searching for a needle in a haystack.” Xing Xin’s whereabouts remained unknown, and Immortal Lord Lieyang and Fang Yuyao had relentlessly searched for the individual. Jin Sheng was growing weary of it. Every so often, Immortal Lord Lieyang and Fang Yuyao would visit, always requesting the Star Quni clan’s diviners to help pinpoint the person’s location.
“We didn’t come this time to ask for your assistance, Fellow Daoist Jin,” Fang Yuyao said. “Instead, we wish to borrow your Heavenly Mystery Disk!” The Star Quni clan’s diviners relied entirely on the Heavenly Mystery Disk to pinpoint approximate locations. However, the Star Quni clan’s fees were too exorbitant, so they intended to borrow the disk and find another diviner.
“Borrow the Heavenly Mystery Disk?!” Jin Sheng frowned. “That is no ordinary high-grade immortal artifact.” He added that if it were destroyed, the loss would be immense.
“We guarantee to take excellent care of it; it’s merely a loan,” Fang Yuyao assured him. “These items are a small token of our sincerity.” With a flick of her sleeve, Fang Yuyao sent a golden storage bracelet flying towards Jin Sheng. Jin Sheng caught the storage bracelet. After sweeping his divine sense over it, he was visibly tempted.
“Alright,” Jin Sheng finally conceded. “I’ll lend you the Heavenly Mystery Disk for now.” After much hesitation, Jin Sheng agreed. He reasoned that refusing them would only lead to more frequent and troublesome visits. He retrieved a golden, shimmering disk, imbued it with a spell, and made several gestures. A moment later, a graceful young woman in a silver dress entered, carrying another golden, shimmering disk, which she handed to Fang Yuyao.
“Thank you, Fellow Daoist Jin,” Fang Yuyao said gratefully.
“Just return the Heavenly Mystery Disk to me when you’re finished with it,” Jin Sheng instructed.
Fang Yuyao agreed, then departed with Immortal Lord Lieyang.
In the Vermilion Bird Sea, on a deserted island spanning a hundred li, lay a hidden underground cavern. Wang Lin sat cross-legged on the ground, his eyes slightly closed. The Four Seasons Scroll hung on the cavern wall. The Four Seasons Scroll glowed with a brilliant spiritual light, and from it, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan emerged.
Wang Lin immediately opened his eyes, his face lighting up with joy upon seeing Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan.
“Master, are you feeling better?” Wang Lin asked with concern.
“I’ve fully recovered,” Wang Changsheng replied. “Where are we now?” He had fully recovered after consuming the third-tier immortal wine brewed by Immortal Lord Qingmei and undergoing a period of restful recuperation.
“We’re in the Vermilion Bird Sea, which isn’t territory of the Haotian Palace,” Wang Lin explained. “Rest for a bit, then I’ll continue our journey.”
“Is there any news from Huanyu and the others?” Wang Changsheng asked. Wang Huanyu had returned to the North Sea Immortal Realm to gather reinforcements; Wang Qiulin might have a solution.
“Not yet,” Wang Lin replied, “but we’ve arranged to operate within the Vermilion Bird Sea and a dozen neighboring sea areas for easier contact.” As he spoke, Wang Lin produced a blue-glowing immortal transmission mirror, cast a spell into it, and Wang Huanyu’s face appeared on its surface.
“We’ve brought Qiulin and Haitang with us and are currently in the Vermilion Bird Sea,” Wang Huanyu said through the mirror. “Where are you?”
Wang Lin handed the immortal transmission mirror to Wang Changsheng, who instructed, “Where is Qiulin? Let him speak with me.” Wang Huanyu passed the mirror to Wang Qiulin, who then said, “Grandfather, I have a way to deal with him. I’ll need Aunt Haitang’s help to set up the array.”
“First, find a deserted island to set up the grand array,” Wang Changsheng instructed. “We’ll keep moving for now. Contact us once the array is ready.”
“Understood, Grandfather,” Wang Qiulin replied.
Wang Changsheng gave a few more instructions before cutting the connection.
“Wang Lin, continue moving with us for a while,” Wang Changsheng instructed. “We’ll return later, hoping Qiulin has a way to counter the diviner brought by Immortal Lord Lieyang.” He and Wang Ruyan returned to the Four Seasons Scroll. Wang Lin then put away the scroll and departed the area.
