Chapter 4403

In the Ba’erhu Mountains, within Ba’erhu City, numerous Chaos Beasts were visible, alongside various immortals moving about. In a giant valley surrounded by mountains on three sides, runes flashed on the stone walls, emitting strong restrictive fluctuations.

A short, stout old man in a golden robe was respectfully reporting to a nine-colored Chaos Beast that resembled a cormorant.

"What? We can't reach her?" the nine-colored Chaos Beast asked in surprise.

"Yes, Lord Lu, her soul lamp, which she deposited, has also gone out," the old man in the golden robe replied cautiously.

Su Shan, an initial-stage Taiyi Golden Immortal, was responsible for gathering intelligence. Lu, who oversaw intelligence, was Su Shan's direct superior. A recently developed informant of Ba’erhu had acquired an object of origin and intended to deliver it to the Ba’erhu Tribe. The tribe activated a long-sleeper agent to rendezvous, hoping to secure the item, but something unexpected happened.

"Why would something happen out of the blue? Did he expose his whereabouts? Or was his location divined by a soothsayer?" Lu wondered.

"That shouldn't be the case!" Su Shan said, his face filled with disbelief. "He's been hiding in Jinxiao City for a while; if he were to be discovered, it would have happened long ago. He wears a high-grade immortal artifact that conceals one's destiny, making it very difficult for diviners to pinpoint his exact location. Logically, he shouldn't be divined, unless the diviner possesses powerful treasures to aid in divination or has mastered the Law of Destiny. Perhaps then they could locate him. But Jinxiao City is vast, and with so many cultivators entering and leaving, for him to be found so quickly is truly unbelievable."

"Send someone to thoroughly investigate what happened," Lu commanded. "If it was an accidental discovery, that's one thing. But if a diviner deduced his whereabouts, we absolutely cannot allow such a person to grow powerful." That informant had never been activated before. Their first mission was to meet with the Chunqiu Rogue Cultivator and retrieve the object of origin, yet they failed.

"Yes, Lord Lu," Su Shan agreed.

"Besides you, no one else knows about this, do they?" Lu recalled something and asked in a low voice.

Su Shan shivered and quickly explained, "No, Lord Lu, I have never revealed this matter to anyone else. I grew up in Ba’erhu City and rarely leave it. When I do leave Ba’erhu City, I am always accompanied."

"I'm not doubting you, but with such a major mishap, you must thoroughly investigate your subordinates. I despise traitors, understand?" Lu's tone was icy.

"Understood, Lord Lu." Su Shan shivered again, agreed, and then withdrew.

"Last time we were a step too slow in acquiring the Taiyi Creation Gourd, and this time we were also a step too slow with the object of origin. Our luck is truly terrible!" Lu muttered to himself. If the Ba’erhu Tribe knew that both incidents were connected to the Wang family and Wang Qiulin, they certainly wouldn't let them off.

Time flew by, and a millennium passed.

In Qinglian City, streets were bustling with crowds and noisy with carriages. To the south and west of the city, massive thunderclouds hovered, with lightning flashing and thunder rumbling. Streaks of enormous six-colored lightning tore through the sky, striking downwards. The cultivators in the city were accustomed to this, as Wang family members frequently attempted breakthroughs to higher realms within Qinglian City.

Wang Yixin stood atop a tall mountain, her expression solemn. Wang Yinyin was attempting to break through to the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm. Coincidentally, Liang Qiuyun was also attempting the same breakthrough. As long as they could open all 108 immortal acupoints, surviving the lightning tribulation wouldn't be a major issue, as their mastery of laws was still minor, limiting the tribulation's power.

As time passed, the six-colored lightning bolts grew increasingly massive, and the thunder roared continuously. After more than a quarter of an hour, the six-colored thunderclouds churned and surged, transforming into a gigantic six-colored lightning leopard, wreathed in electric light.

Wang Yixin took out a golden, shimmering communication disk, and after inputting a magic formula, Wang Changsheng's voice rang out: "Yixin, has Madam Wu arrived yet?"

"Senior Wu visited some time ago. She is currently residing in Tianfeng City and said that Grand Ancestor can contact her anytime," Wang Yixin replied.

"Contact her now and ask her to come to Qinglian City! The high-grade Chaos Armor has been refined," Wang Changsheng instructed.

"Yes, Grand Ancestor." Wang Yixin agreed, and then a deafening clap of thunder reverberated. She turned her head towards the source of the sound and saw a massive six-colored lightning burst shoot into the sky, shaking the ground and churning up dust.

Before the dust could settle, a streak of light flew out from it and landed before her; it was Wang Yinyin. Her face was slightly pale, but her aura was as vast as the ocean. She had successfully advanced to the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm, becoming the second sound cultivator in the Wang family to reach this stage.

"Grand Ancestor Yixin, thank you for safeguarding me," Wang Yinyin said gratefully.

"It's hardly 'safeguarding.' This is our family's territory; no one can stop you from transcending the tribulation," Wang Yixin replied. Another streak of light flew from afar and landed before Wang Yixin; it was Liang Qiuyun, who had also advanced to the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm.

"Excellent! You two, husband and wife, have both advanced to the Taiyi Golden Immortal realm on the same day. Go back and recuperate now," Wang Yixin instructed them to rest.

She took out a golden immortal communication mirror, and after inputting a magic formula, Wu Xiao's face appeared on its surface. "Senior Wu, the item you requested has been refined. Grand Ancestor invites you to Qinglian City," Wang Yixin said.

"Alright, I'll be right there," Wu Xiao agreed.

On Qinglian Peak, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan sat by a green stone table, sipping tea and chatting. Not long after, Wu Xiao entered, accompanied by Wang Yixin.

Without further ado, Wang Changsheng took out a set of high-grade Chaos Armor and handed it to Wu Xiao. Wu Xiao examined it carefully, her expression filled with excitement.

"Many thanks, Fellow Daoist Wang. I mostly stay in Jinxiao City. If you need help, you can find me there or send someone to notify me. Please accept these three 'Earth Sorcerer Tokens.' If it's inconvenient for you, you can have someone bring a token to me; I recognize the token, not the person," Wu Xiao said gratefully, then took out three green tokens and handed them to Wang Changsheng. The green tokens were circular, with the characters "地巫" (Earth Sorcerer) engraved on their front.

Wang Changsheng took the tokens, a thoughtful expression on his face, and asked curiously, "Madam Wu, is issuing tokens a custom of your Sorcerer Tribe?"

"Not entirely. Some other races do this as well. However, our Sorcerer Tribe does indeed issue tokens to those who have helped us greatly. From highest to lowest, they are divided into Heaven Sorcerer, Earth Sorcerer, Profound Sorcerer, and Yellow Sorcerer tokens. Heaven Sorcerer tokens are issued by Daluo Golden Immortals, Earth Sorcerer tokens by Taiyi Golden Immortals, and Yellow Sorcerer tokens by True Immortals. We recognize the token, not the person. Many people ask us to curse enemies or find others, and this method is more convenient," Wu Xiao explained.

"I see. If needed, I will go to Jinxiao City to find you," Wang Changsheng said.

"Certainly! I have other matters to attend to, so I won't stay long," Wu Xiao rose to take her leave and departed with Wang Yixin.

"Madam Wu actually resides permanently in Jinxiao City. No wonder we hadn't heard of her," Wang Ruyan commented.

Wang Changsheng flipped his right hand, and a circular token appeared in his palm, with the characters "天巫" (Heaven Sorcerer) engraved on its front.
