Chapter 4333: The New Plan of the Chaos Beast

They had thought they overestimated the Wang family, but it turned out they had still underestimated them.

"How did they infiltrate Zaladin City? That's a problem. If they can come and go as they please, they'll be even harder to deal with," Xiong wondered aloud.

Pseudo-immortals at the Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage had helped set up the defensive formation, so logically, the Green Lotus Immortals should not have been able to infiltrate Zaladin City. Yet, they did, ambushing Ape. Had it been a direct confrontation, Ape, even if outmatched, could have escaped.

"It's unclear for now," Qu said. "Everyone entering and leaving Zaladin City is one of our own, and pseudo-immortals face strict restrictions on external movement. The last time a pseudo-immortal left Zaladin City was over a hundred thousand years ago. It's impossible for the Green Lotus Immortals to have been lurking here for that long. They must have infiltrated recently. I'll have an insider investigate."

"Perhaps it was a secret talisman! The Nangong Immortal Clan has done this before," Xiong mused, puzzled. "They actually struck first. This means they'll surely heighten their defenses. Did someone below leak information?"

It was too much of a coincidence that the Nangong Immortal Clan had acted against the Zaladin Tribe just as they were preparing to attack Green Lotus City.

"That's unlikely," Qu analyzed. "I've verified that only the tribal leaders knew about this, and they didn't inform their subordinates, so the chance of a leak is minimal. It's probably a coincidence. After all, the Nangong Immortal Clan dealt with the Hulan Tribe in this exact manner before; they're just repeating an old trick."

The Nangong Immortal Clan had previously sent agents using secret talismans to infiltrate strongholds within the Chahar Tribe's domain, working from inside and out. Their tactics against the Zaladin Tribe this time were not significantly different. However, the distinction was that previous infiltrators either died or were severely wounded, while the Green Lotus Immortals not only escaped unscathed but also combined forces to kill Ape.

"Immediately notify them to change the plan," Xiong commanded. "Send a large force to harass Green Lotus City to draw their attention, while our clansmen at the Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage attack Fire Moon City, Five Immortals City, Golden Star City, Flowing Cloud City, and Cloud Lang City."

Since the Green Lotus Immortals had moved against the Zaladin Tribe, the Wang family would undoubtedly heighten their defenses to guard against a counterattack from the chaos beasts. Attacking Green Lotus City now would result in heavier losses for the chaos beasts. The optimal strategy was to deploy elite units to harass Green Lotus City, drawing the attention of the Nangong Immortal Clan and the Wang family, and then dispatch forces to assault other ground cities.

This was a feint to the east, attack to the west strategy!

"Ape was no match. I'm afraid only your personal intervention will draw their attention," Qu remarked.

Xiong nodded. "I'll go myself then," he said. "Let the Hada Tribe and others attack the other ground cities. Green Lotus City is a tough nut to crack, but the others might not be. I refuse to believe that Grand Unity Golden Immortals in those other cities also command supreme laws."

After this battle, which cost them seven Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts and crippled the Zaladin Tribe, the Chahar Department naturally wouldn't let the matter rest.

"Yes, Lord Xiong," Qu affirmed, accepting the order before departing.

Green Lotus City, Green Lotus Peak.

In a secret chamber, Wang Changsheng sat cross-legged on a blue futon. The Green Lotus Creation Cauldron was placed before him, with a cluster of blue flames burning at its base.

Wang Changsheng's gaze was fixed intently on the Green Lotus Creation Cauldron. Sensing something, he retrieved a blue-glowing immortal communication mirror, cast a spell into it, and the mirror's surface blurred, revealing Wang Qingling's face.

"Uncle Nine," Wang Qingling reported, "as you predicted, the chaos beasts have altered their battle plan. They intend to feign an attack on Green Lotus City, with Xiong of the Chahar Department leading the main force – a nine-colored chaos beast. Meanwhile, the Hada, Jinlong, and other tribes are dispatching Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts to launch a surprise attack on Fire Moon City, Five Immortals City, Golden Star City, Flowing Cloud City, and Cloud Lang City."

The chaos beasts planned to use a taste of their own medicine against them: a large force would harass Green Lotus City to draw the attention of the Nangong Immortal Clan and the Wang family, while Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts would launch surprise attacks on Fire Moon City, Five Immortals City, Golden Star City, Flowing Cloud City, and Cloud Lang City—a classic feint.

It was indeed a good battle plan, but since Wang Changsheng already knew their intentions, the chaos beasts' scheme was effectively nullified.

"Be careful," Wang Changsheng cautioned. "Withdraw immediately if you sense danger."

"Yes, Uncle Nine," Wang Qingling affirmed.

Wang Changsheng put away the immortal communication mirror and retrieved a blue-glowing communication disk. After casting a spell, he said, "My dear, please contact Daoist Cao and Immortal Ye. Inform them that Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts might attack their respective ground cities. Tell them to strengthen their defenses, and if they require assistance, send Qingshan and Qingbai to support them."

"The chaos beasts aren't attacking Green Lotus City anymore?" Wang Ruyan asked, puzzled.

"They're feigning an attack on Green Lotus City; their true targets are Fire Moon City, Five Immortals City, Golden Star City, Flowing Cloud City, and Cloud Lang City," Wang Changsheng explained. "Just notify the Ye family and the Cao family. The safety of the Five Immortals Sect, Fire Moon Clan, and Golden Star Clan is not our concern. I don't want to expose the existence of the Golden Prism Mirror for their sake."

While the Nangong Immortal Clan's move against the Zaladin Tribe could be a coincidence, if all the chaos beasts attacking the five ground cities were to be ambushed, any fool would realize the battle plan had been leaked, prompting an inevitable investigation into how the information got out.

Wang Changsheng's relationship with the Five Immortals Sect, Golden Star Clan, and Fire Moon Clan was merely cordial; he would not expose the Golden Prism Mirror's existence for their benefit.

"Understood. I'll notify Immortal Ye and Daoist Cao right away," Wang Ruyan affirmed.

Wang Changsheng put away the communication disk and resumed his artifact refining.

Hada Grassland, Hada City.

In a colossal valley, Yang and eight Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts were discussing battle strategies.

The Zaladin Tribe was considerably strong. Wang Changsheng, Wang Ruyan, and Nangong Changlong, a group of nine, had collectively slain seven Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage chaos beasts, which thoroughly unnerved the high-ranking members of the Hada Tribe.

While dispatching forces to strengthen their defenses, they simultaneously deliberated on how to attack Green Lotus City, aiming to minimize their losses.

"Lord Xiong and I will attack Green Lotus City," Yang instructed. "The rest of you will go attack Five Immortals City."

The Wang family possessed several high-grade Immortal Annihilation Cannons. There was no need for seven-colored chaos beasts at the Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage to engage directly; the optimal plan was to bypass Green Lotus City and attack other ground cities.

"To be safe, I'll join as well!" said an eight-colored chaos beast in a humanoid-beast form. "Wei and the others are only seven-colored."

Yang considered it, then nodded. "Alright, so be it!" he agreed.

Just then, a seven-colored chaos beast resembling a bat flew in.

"Priest, Lord Xiong has arrived," the seven-colored chaos beast announced.

"Quickly invite him in—no, let us all go out to welcome Lord Xiong," Yang instructed, leading the high-ranking officials to greet him.

Outside Hada City, a contingent of chaos beasts stood in an open area, with Xiong among them.

This time, Xiong had brought four clansmen at the Grand Unity Golden Immortal stage. With additional experts drawn from other chaos beast tribes, harassing Green Lotus City would pose no issue.

"Lord Xiong, your presence honors us. We apologize for not having met you sooner. Please, come in," Yang said respectfully, rushing out of Hada City.

Xiong nodded with satisfaction and led his clansmen into Hada City.
