Chapter 4278: 楚天峰, Alliance Marriage

After completing the exchange, Wang Changsheng and the other six chatted for half an hour before gradually departing.

After leaving Changqing Pavilion, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan began to stroll along the street. They visited several large shops and purchased a batch of immortal cultivation resources, including a 20-million-year-old Nine-Leaf Golden Soul Grass. This grass could be used to refine the Nine-Leaf Golden Soul Pill, which would aid Wang Changsheng in cultivating the Heavenly Soul Treasure Scroll. Naturally, this purchase required payment with the crystal nucleus of a Taiyi Golden Immortal-stage Seven-Colored Chaos Beast.

The Wang family did not have a Third-Tier Immortal Alchemist. However, Wang Changsheng could ask one to help refine the Nine-Leaf Golden Soul Pill, as many Taiyi Golden Immortals had come for the Grand Luo Golden Immortal Celebration, surely including Third-Tier Immortal Alchemists. Xue Yan was a Third-Tier Immortal Alchemist, but given her status, requesting her assistance would undoubtedly incur a substantial reward. Wang Changsheng therefore planned to seek help from other Third-Tier Immortal Alchemists.

Half a day later, they emerged from an eighteen-story golden pavilion, their faces beaming with smiles. Heavenly Phoenix City was rich in immortal cultivation resources; several major powers had established shops there, and the Myriad Immortals Merchant Alliance also had a branch in the city.

As they stepped out of the pavilion, a tall, golden-robed old man approached them. He had a square face, large eyes, and a broad smile.

"I am Chu Tianfeng," the golden-robed old man introduced himself. "I've long heard of Fellow Daoist Wang's great name; it's truly a pleasure to finally meet you in person."

"So it's Fellow Daoist Chu," Wang Changsheng replied politely. "You flatter me."

"Fellow Daoist Wang, Madam Wang," Chu Tianfeng said, his face full of anticipation, "I've just acquired a pot of Golden Ganoderma Brew. Would it be convenient for you to come to my residence and sample it together?"

He had been in secluded cultivation. Upon learning that Wang Changsheng had mastered the laws of the soul, Chu Tianfeng immediately rushed to Green Lotus City, hoping to seek guidance from Wang Changsheng on cultivating these laws and to make his acquaintance. Unfortunately, Wang Changsheng had remained in secluded cultivation and had not yet emerged.

"In that case, we'd be pleased to join you," Wang Changsheng agreed.

Chu Tianfeng laughed heartily and said, "Not at all! Fellow Daoist Wang, Madam Wang, please follow me." Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan followed Chu Tianfeng to a courtyard spanning about an acre, which contained a five-story golden pavilion and a blue stone pavilion.

A graceful young woman in a green dress was seated in the stone pavilion. Her features were exquisite, like a painting, and her skin was as fair as snow. Judging by her aura, she was clearly a Taiyi Golden Immortal.

"Husband, you're back," the young woman in green said with a smile, her gaze sweeping over Wang Changsheng. "This must be Immortal Monarch Taihao! My name is Du Qingqing; it's a pleasure to meet Fellow Daoist Wang."

Du Qingqing was Chu Tianfeng's Dao-companion, possessing a cultivation level of mid-Taiyi Golden Immortal, and she was also a Third-Tier Immortal Alchemist.

"Madam Chu," Wang Changsheng said with a slight smile, "my wife has mentioned you before, saying that you are skilled in alchemy."

"Madam Wang, you flatter me," Du Qingqing replied humbly. "I wouldn't say skilled; I only know a bit of the basics."

Chu Tianfeng invited Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan to sit down. He then took out an exquisite golden wine pot with a lifelike dragon's head spout, from which a peculiar wine aroma wafted. He poured a golden-colored wine into a cup for each of the four individuals.

"The Golden Ganoderma Brew has the effect of strengthening one's soul," Chu Tianfeng explained. "Madam Wang, you can drink it without worry." He then raised his cup, drained it in one gulp, and showed an expression of intoxication.

Wang Changsheng picked up his cup and took a small sip. A joyful sensation spread through his sea of souls, and his soul seemed to strengthen slightly.

"Excellent, a fine wine," Wang Changsheng said with a look of approval, finishing the wine in his cup. Wang Ruyan also finished hers.

"If Fellow Daoist Wang enjoys it, please have a few more cups," Chu Tianfeng said with a smile as he refilled their cups. "Had I not won a bet against Fellow Daoist Shen, I wouldn't have been able to acquire this Golden Ganoderma Brew."

They chatted leisurely while drinking.

"Oh, by the way," Chu Tianfeng suggested, "I heard that one of your descendants is skilled in divination. One of my descendants is also very interested in it. Perhaps when we have time another day, we could arrange for them to meet and exchange insights?"

"No problem at all!" Wang Changsheng replied. "Qiu Lin also wishes to exchange knowledge with other diviners. Speaking of which, Madam Chu, I have a favor to ask." He then brought up the main topic.

"What is it, Fellow Daoist Wang? Please feel free to say," Du Qingqing said with a slight smile.

"I would like to ask Madam Du to help me refine a batch of immortal pills. Here are the pill formula and the materials," Wang Changsheng said, handing Du Qingqing a blue storage bracelet and a blue jade slip.

"Immortal pills!" Du Qingqing exclaimed. She took the jade slip, swept her spiritual consciousness over it, and nodded. "This is a small matter; leave it to me."

"Then I'll trouble Madam Du," Wang Changsheng said, expressing his gratitude. "Regarding the compensation, I assure you it will be satisfactory."

"It's merely a small effort, nothing worth mentioning," Du Qingqing said with a slight smile.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, I heard that you comprehended the laws of the soul," Chu Tianfeng asked politely. "I also cultivate a soul technique, but I haven't been able to comprehend them myself. Could you perhaps offer some guidance?"

Wang Changsheng had already guided Chu Yiqian and Chu Yikun, but Chu Tianfeng still hoped that Wang Changsheng could personally guide him.

"It's a small matter," Wang Changsheng said. "Fellow Daoist Chu, please feel free to explain."

Chu Tianfeng briefly explained his cultivation of the soul technique. He recounted how he had once acquired a pot of Nine-Orifice Immortal Brew, and after drinking it, his comprehension had greatly increased in a short period. However, even with the aid of his soul technique, he still hadn't been able to comprehend the laws of the soul.

Wang Changsheng simply shared his insights and incidentally pointed out some of Chu Tianfeng's errors.

"So that's it!" Chu Tianfeng said gratefully. "I always felt something was off, but I couldn't put my finger on it. With Fellow Daoist Wang's words, I've avoided a detour."

"Fellow Daoist Chu, you're too kind," Wang Changsheng replied humbly. "Even if I hadn't said anything, you had already noticed something was amiss, and you would have discovered the problem sooner or later."

"That may be true, but without Fellow Daoist Wang's guidance, I would certainly have taken a detour," Chu Tianfeng said, revealing his true intention. "Since our two families manage Green Lotus City together, I'll be direct: our Chu family wishes to form a marriage alliance with your Wang family. I have a very high regard for your descendant Wang Qiulin. What do you think?"

A marriage alliance between the Chu and Wang families would make them in-laws. This would allow Chu Tianfeng to frequently consult Wang Changsheng for insights into cultivating the laws of the soul, and furthermore, it would add a powerful in-law family to their connections.

"A marriage alliance is fine," Wang Changsheng stated, "but it depends on whether Qiu Lin likes your Chu family member. I don't wish to force him."

If it had been any other clan member, Wang Changsheng would have agreed immediately. But Wang Qiulin was different; he had consumed an Enlightenment Fruit and was a diviner, so Wang Changsheng had high hopes for him.

"No problem," Chu Tianfeng said with a smile. "I believe Yu Ruo and he are a match made in heaven." Chu Yu Ruo was a Spirit Body cultivator, currently at the mid-Golden Immortal stage, with many suitors, but few Golden Immortal cultivators could truly catch her eye.

"Let's hope so," Wang Changsheng said with a faint smile, raising his cup to clink it against Chu Tianfeng's.

After chatting for more than two hours, the sky began to darken, and Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan bid farewell and departed.
