Chapter 4219: Clues

As soon as the four miniature Nascent Souls left their bodies, a powerful restrictive force appeared out of thin air, trapping them mid-air. Simultaneously, a golden ray of light descended from the sky, enveloped the four miniature Nascent Souls, and drew them into Wang Chan's mouth, where he swallowed them.

“They had intended to ambush other treasure seekers here, but before they could succeed even once, they encountered us,” Wang Chan stated.

These four Golden Immortals had only achieved minor success in their cultivation of laws and thus could not withstand a single blow from the Meridian Fusion Art. Even without using the Meridian Fusion Art, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan could have killed them; they simply wanted to end the battle quickly.

“Have they been to other places?” Wang Changsheng asked.

“No, they only entered the Myriad Immortal Continent half a month ago. After gathering some cultivation resources in the outer regions, they came here to set an ambush. They possessed a set of concealing immortal artifacts, the Mountain River Pearls, which had an excellent cloaking effect. The transformed demon beast was also their companion, intending to launch a sneak attack while its master was busy killing other beasts,” Wang Chan explained.

From the yellow-robed elder's storage bracelet, Wang Changsheng found two round pearls, one yellow and one blue, both of which were mid-grade magic artifacts. The four Golden Immortal cultivators did not possess much wealth. They had just over a million immortal essence stones, eleven mid-grade immortal artifacts, and over five hundred immortal herbs. The oldest among these was a ten-million-year-old Purple Core Grass. They also had hundreds of Chaos Beast cores, mostly from True Immortal-stage Chaos Beasts, and two five-colored Chaos Beast cores from Golden Immortal-stage beasts.

In an underground cave three hundred thousand miles away, a voluptuous young woman in a golden dress stood amidst dozens of red ginseng plants growing within the cave. The young woman's eyes flickered with golden light; she had witnessed Wang Ruyan killing her companion with a single move, which terrified her. She knew full well that she had poked a hornet's nest.

Red light flared from the young woman's body as she prepared to cast a spell to escape. A loud chime rang out, instantly making the young woman dizzy. Her surroundings blurred, and then a woman's voice echoed: “Please do not leave, stay here!”

The young woman felt the world spin around her, and her eyes glazed over. Ripples appeared in the void above her head, and a void portal over thirty meters wide emerged. Wang Huanyu, Wang Chan, and Wang Mengli flew out of the portal. Their right index fingers glowed brightly, and with a light touch, beams of spiritual light shot out from each, piercing through the young woman's head.

The young woman's body went limp and she fell. As soon as a miniature falcon-like creature emerged from her, it was pierced by a golden silk thread, drawn into Wang Chan’s mouth, and swallowed. The corpse glowed with golden light, transforming into a massive golden falcon with three bloodied holes in its head.

Wang Mengli and the other two had all cultivated the Three Qiankun Fingers, so for the three of them to work together to kill a mid-stage Golden Immortal cultivator was not a major problem. Wang Huanyu retrieved a golden storage bracelet from the young woman. They collected several dozen Lihuo Ginseng plants, put away the golden falcon’s corpse, and flew back into the void portal, which then closed.

Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan stood in an open area. Wang Ruyan held a golden animal hide in her hand, which had been found in the enemy's storage bracelet. “They previously explored this area, but the restrictions were too strong, resulting in the loss of a Golden Immortal. Now, the restrictions are entering a weak period, so we can go explore,” Wang Changsheng said, pointing to a spot on the map, where the characters “Lingtian Peak” could be seen.

The void rippled, and Wang Huanyu and the other two emerged from it. “Let’s go! We’re heading to Lingtian Peak; hopefully, there will be good things there,” Wang Changsheng said, and the group headed northwest.

On a vast, boundless green grassland, Wang Qingfeng and Dong Xueli were teaming up against a gigantic green roc. This green roc was at the Golden Immortal stage and had already transformed into human form. Dong Xueli formed a sword incantation, causing nine white-glowing flying swords to tremble slightly. Accompanied by a shrill sword hum, countless sharp white sword lights swept out, instantly merging into a massive white greatsword that slashed towards the green roc.

Wang Qingfeng formed a magic incantation. With his body as the center, an area spanning hundreds of thousands of miles transformed into a crimson sea of flames. The sea of flames churned and surged, and a colossal crimson fire phoenix flew out, heading straight for the green roc. The green roc gently flapped its wings, and a colossal green tornado appeared, meeting the attacks. With a thunderous roar, the white greatsword, the crimson fire phoenix, and the green tornado canceled each other out, sending dust and smoke billowing.

A strong gust of wind blew past, and a colossal green roc appeared behind Wang Qingfeng. A powerful restrictive force emerged out of thin air, trapping Wang Qingfeng, and a pair of sharp talons aimed directly for his head. Red light flared from Wang Qingfeng’s body, and his right index finger shone with a dazzling red light, meeting the green roc's talons. With a muffled thud, his right index finger pierced through the green roc's talons, causing blood to flow profusely. Wang Qingfeng’s right index finger glowed with black light, and a beam of black light entered the green roc's body.

“Soul attack!” the green roc exclaimed in human speech, its body trembling. A long red rainbow shot forth, piercing through the green roc's head. As soon as a miniature roc-like creature emerged from its body, Wang Qingfeng collected it into a red jade bottle.

He found a green storage bracelet on the corpse. Inside the bracelet was a green animal hide, depicting mountains and water, with some areas marked by text. “Hundred Herb Peak! It must be a spiritual herb garden,” Wang Qingfeng murmured, his gaze fixed on the animal hide.

They were currently in the outer regions. According to the intelligence gathered by Wang Xiukun, typically, there wouldn't be anything too valuable in the outer areas. However, nothing was absolute; if they discovered a grand cultivator's secluded cave abode, there could be good treasures.

“It should be. Let’s go take a look,” Dong Xueli said. Wang Qingfeng nodded, put away the green roc’s corpse, and departed the area with Dong Xueli.

In a massive, sprawling valley, loud explosions occasionally echoed, shaking the ground. With a deafening roar, a dazzling silver lightning bolt shot skyward, and a silver light flew out from within the valley. “My fellow cultivator, please do not leave. Stay here! Join your companions in the netherworld,” a melodious female voice said.

The silver light slowed, revealing a tall, slender young man in a silver robe. His right leg was gone, his face was pale, and his aura was weak, looking as if he had suffered a severe loss of vitality. “The Law of Dreams at the Grand Completion stage!” the silver-robed youth exclaimed. He felt a strong wave of drowsiness wash over him, making him feel sleepy.

With a flash of purple light, a massive, purple-glowing pagoda appeared out of thin air. It emitted a stream of purple ethereal light, enveloped the silver-robed youth, and drew him into the pagoda. The purple pagoda landed on the ground. A young woman in a golden dress, with a peach-blossom complexion, and an old man in a purple robe, with a hooked nose, flew over and entered the purple pagoda.

After a moment, they emerged from the purple pagoda, their faces filled with joy. “We’ve just arrived at the Myriad Immortal Continent and have already eliminated four Golden Immortal cultivators. It seems our luck is good,” the young woman in the golden dress said with a smile.

“Let’s head deeper into the Myriad Immortal Continent! There are many good things there, and ambushing Golden Immortal cultivators who are searching for treasures in the core region will yield even greater rewards,” the purple-robed old man said. He waved a hand, and the purple pagoda quickly shrunk, flying into his sleeve. The two then departed the area.
