Chapter 4189: Contemplating the Rules in Seclusion

Not all time-based materials can be refined into immortal artifacts like the Gourd of Time, nor are all space-based materials necessarily used for refining space immortal artifacts. To create immortal artifacts such as the Gourd of Time or the Cosmic Bottle, other rare materials are required in addition to time-based materials.

Wang Qingfeng obtained an Immortal-Binding Stone in the Qiankun Ruins, which can be used to refine an immortal island. Immortal islands are of a higher rank than immortal battleships.

While immortal battleships primarily rely on space-based materials, immortal islands require various rare materials, including space-based, time-based, and confinement materials. Though called an immortal island, it is essentially indistinguishable from a city and can also be referred to as an immortal city.

Cities categorized as Heaven, Earth, Black, or Yellow are generally immobile, fixed in one location. However, immortal cities are mobile; they can teleport to various locations, facilitating support and escape.

The Immortal Realm is home to myriad races, with the Demon Race possessing the greatest overall strength. The Demon Race controls four immortal cities, while the Human Race and Witch Race jointly control three, for a total of seven immortal cities. These seven cities can provide mutual support, and their offensive and defensive capabilities far surpass those of Heavenly Cities.

Immortal battleships are divided into four grades: Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow. Immortal islands also have distinct grades, which can be improved. This improvement depends not only on a large quantity of rare materials but also significantly on the artifact refining skill of the immortal artifact refiner.

Wang Changsheng approached the Dao Soldier Tree and dripped some Creation Jade Dew onto its main trunk. The Dao Soldier Tree quickly absorbed the dew and grew spirit beans, each bearing three spirit patterns on its surface.

Wang Changsheng frowned. Even with the Gourd of Time, cultivating high-grade spirit beans was not easy, let alone top-grade ones.

Dao Soldiers are available on the market, mostly True Immortal-stage bean soldiers, with occasional Golden Immortal-stage ones. There has been no mention of Grand Unity Golden Immortal-stage bean soldiers for sale, much less Grand Luo Golden Immortal-stage ones.

In the Primordial Era, Immortal Venerable Xuanmu, a Grand Luo Golden Immortal, once achieved renown by using three Grand Luo Golden Immortal-stage bean soldiers to slay multiple Grand Luo Golden Immortal-stage Chaos Beasts. He also once controlled a Heavenly City. After the Immortal-Chaos War, there was no further news of him. Rumors say he died and his cultivation vanished, while others claim he failed in his attempt to become a Dao Ancestor.

During the last Immortal-Chaos War, even Dao Ancestors participated, including the Dao Ancestors from the twelve major tribes of Chaos Beasts. That battle was incredibly fierce, resulting in countless deaths and injuries. The current landscape only emerged after that devastating war.

The Gourd of Time is only a mid-grade immortal artifact. If it could be upgraded to high-grade, it might be capable of cultivating high-grade bean soldiers. Of course, Creation Jade Dew alone would not suffice; meticulous care from a spirit plant cultivator would also be necessary.

"Wang Shen!" Wang Changsheng spoke.

As soon as he spoke, a green light flared before Wang Changsheng, revealing Wang Shen’s figure. She was currently at the early Golden Immortal stage.

"Take good care of this Dao Soldier Tree. This is Creation Jade Dew; let me know when you run out." Wang Changsheng took out a green jade bottle and handed it to Wang Shen.

"Yes, Master!" Wang Shen readily agreed and put away the green jade bottle.

"If the Creation Jade Dew is useful to you, you can also take it." Wang Changsheng remembered something and added the instruction.

Wang Shen nodded and agreed.

After giving a few instructions, Wang Changsheng exited the Myriad Spirit Map.

He took out a communication plate, shimmering with blue light, activated it with a spell incantation, and said, "Qingfeng, are you busy?"

"No, I heard Qingbai came over," Wang Qingfeng’s voice replied.

"I asked him to come. Come to Green Lotus Peak; I have something to tell you," Wang Changsheng instructed.

"Okay, I'll be right over." Wang Qingfeng agreed.

Wang Changsheng put away the communication plate and stepped out. Xiahou Yao and Wang Qingbai had already left, and Wang Ruyan was sitting in the stone pavilion, drinking tea.

Wang Ruyan poured Wang Changsheng a steaming cup of spirit tea and casually asked, "Qingbai brought a True Immortal cultivator named Song Junwu this time. He possesses the Thousand Ears Physique, so eavesdropping on True Immortal cultivators' conversations isn't an issue for him. However, if the restrictions are too strong or the opponent uses a mid-grade immortal artifact, he won't be able to hear."

If Song Junwu cultivates to a higher realm, he could play a greater role and would be suitable for joining the Dark Hall to gather intelligence.

"The Thousand Ears Physique!" Wang Changsheng nodded. Establishing the Flying Immortal Platform was precisely to attract talented individuals.

Not long after, Wang Qingfeng arrived.

"Take these spirit beans to refine bean soldiers. I hope you can refine Golden Immortal-stage bean soldiers. Do not tell other clan members about this." Wang Changsheng took out an exquisite golden jade box and handed it to Wang Qingfeng.

With the Gourd of Time, Wang Changsheng could obtain spirit beans much more easily, allowing Wang Qingfeng to refine bean soldiers without restraint. Once Wang Qingfeng’s success rate in refining bean soldiers improved, the spirit beans could then be given to other immortal artifact refiners.

If they had an army of Golden Immortal-stage bean soldiers, the Wang family’s losses would be smaller when dealing with a Chaos Beast tide.

Wang Qingfeng took the jade box, opened it, and saw fifteen shimmering spirit beans inside, filled with both surprise and joy.

He had long wanted to try refining bean soldiers but lacked spirit beans. Wang Changsheng giving him fifteen spirit beans at once was beyond his imagination; he had thought two or three would be a lot.

"Understood, Father." Wang Qingfeng readily agreed and put away the jade box.

After chatting for a while, Wang Changsheng sent him back.

"There aren’t any battles at the moment, wife. You should go into seclusion and strive to reach the late Golden Immortal stage! If a Chaos Beast tide erupts, we will be able to handle it more easily," Wang Changsheng suggested.

Wang Ruyan nodded and said, "I'll first guide Yulan, Rumeng, Yunpu, and others in refining mid-grade Immortal-Slaying Arrows. I’ll go into seclusion for cultivation a little later."

If their clan members could refine mid-grade Immortal-Slaying Arrows, it would greatly ease the burden on Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan. Guiding clan members in refining Immortal-Slaying Arrows wouldn't take much time.

For a cultivation family to flourish indefinitely, there needs to be a continuous emergence of various talents. A shortage of talent would lead to trouble.

The artifact refining skills of Wang Qingfeng, Wang Jiye, Wang Zongyun, and others improved quickly, as they had mastered the Green Lotus Artifact Refining Art. However, the talisman crafting skills of Wang Yulan, Wang Rumeng, Wang Yunpu, and the others did not improve as quickly.

Wang Changsheng entered a secret chamber, sat cross-legged on a blue meditation mat, and began cultivating laws.

He had not long advanced to the late Golden Immortal stage, so he couldn't reach Golden Immortal Great Perfection in a short period. He decided to focus on cultivating laws.

A white halo emanated from Wang Changsheng’s body, causing the entire stone chamber to freeze, the temperature dropping to a terrifying level.

Five Immortals City, a secluded manor.

Lin Tianba and a pale-faced old man in black robes sat in a hexagonal stone pavilion, conversing.

If Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan were here, they would certainly recognize him as the Grand Unity Golden Immortal who had pursued them.

"Fellow Daoist Lu, why aren't you staying longer? Why the rush to leave?" Lin Tianba asked, puzzled.

The old man in black robes was named Lu Xuan, an early Grand Unity Golden Immortal. The two had met a few times in their younger days. This time, Lu Xuan had traveled to Kunlun Immortal City and entered the Qiankun Ruins to search for treasures.

"No, this time I went into the Qiankun Ruins to search for treasures, but I didn't find anything good, and I even lost an arm. I plan to return and enter secluded cultivation for a while." Lu Xuan’s voice was weak, and he appeared to be injured.

He did not ask Lin Tianba to help search for those two Golden Immortal cultivators. As it concerned Dao arts, he couldn't tell anyone else and intended to send an avatar to search secretly.

"In that case, I won't keep you any longer." Lin Tianba did not try to keep him, as they had only met a few times.

After a brief chat, Lu Xuan bid farewell and departed.
