Chapter 3964: Spirit Awakens (No More Today)

On the Continent of Chaos, a massive city floated high in the sky, radiating countless rays of immortal light and occasionally echoing with dragon roars. Above the city gate hung a golden plaque bearing two large silver characters that read 'Dragon City'.

Two guards stood at the city gate, clad in battle armor shimmering with precious light. Judging by their auras, they were clearly Taiyi Golden Immortals. For Taiyi Golden Immortals to guard a city gate, such a standard was only seen in immortal cities on the Continent of Chaos that were presided over by Dao Ancestors.

Within a vast manor, pavilions, towers, and waterside corridors graced the landscape.

A robust old man in a green robe and a voluptuous young woman in a golden dress sat in a blue stone pavilion. Their auras were unfathomable. The old man in green frowned and looked towards the distant horizon.

He flipped his right hand, and with a flash of green light, a shimmering green long saber appeared in his grasp. The green saber was shaped remarkably like a green true dragon. The green saber vibrated slightly, emitting a series of dragon roars.

"What's going on! Why is the Dao Artifact Sky Dragon Saber acting like this?" the young woman in the golden dress asked, puzzled.

It was Yuanfeng, a Dao Ancestor.

"It has sensed the presence of another Dao Artifact!" the old man in green said with a heavy voice.

It was Zulong, a Dao Ancestor.

"Another Dao Artifact? Could it be the Chaos Beast's Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda? Or have the human race forged a Dao Artifact?" Yuanfeng asked with a frown.

"Neither. It's a Dao Artifact with a spirit. The Sky Dragon Saber has clashed with the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda before and remembers its aura. This Dao Artifact is not the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda; it might be an Innate Dao Artifact," Zulong said.

"An Innate Dao Artifact! Immediately send people to search for it. If we obtain another Innate Dao Artifact, our demon race's strength will be even greater," Yuanfeng said.

"The Immortal World is vast, and we don't even know where this Dao Artifact is. It will be quite difficult to find it. Let's first convey the message. We already possess two Dao Artifacts; with one more, our chances of victory against Hai will be greater," Zulong said.

Hai was a Dao Ancestor-level Chaos Beast, possessing immense divine abilities.

Soon, a large number of demon cultivators set out to search for the Dao Artifact across multiple immortal domains.

In the central part of the Chaos Continent, a vast and boundless verdant mountain range echoed with constant beast roars. Many Chaos Beasts could be seen there, the lowest among them being six-colored.

Deep within the mountain range, on a vast bluestone plaza, stood a towering black colossal pagoda. Innumerable mysterious runes were carved onto its body.

The colossal pagoda shook violently, and alarm bells rang loudly, as numerous Chaos Beasts flew in from a distance. "Stand down, I'll handle this," a loud voice boomed.

A beast-humanoid Chaos Beast walked from afar, instantly appearing before the colossal pagoda. The other Chaos Beasts retreated. "Lord Teng, what are your orders?" the Chaos Beast spoke.

It was Hai, a Dao Ancestor-level Chaos Beast.

"I've sensed the presence of another Dao Artifact. It might be the one that injured my son. Send people to find this Dao Artifact and destroy it. It absolutely cannot be allowed to grow," a majestic male voice emanated from within the black colossal pagoda.

"What? The Dao Artifact that injured one of the sub-pagodas? Are you certain?" Hai exclaimed in surprise.

"Not certain. I sensed its presence for a moment, but then it vanished. It's very likely it. I failed to destroy it last time. Even if it's not it, it's an Innate Dao Artifact with a spirit. Man-made Dao Artifacts wouldn't cause such a stir. I estimate that the three Dao Artifacts—the Grandmist Scroll, the Qiankun Pagoda, and the Word Palace—have also sensed its presence. We must act before them and destroy this Innate Dao Artifact," the man's cold voice emanated from the black colossal pagoda.

"Yes, Lord Teng," Hai agreed, then turned and departed.

In the North Sea Immortal Domain, in a certain black sea region, the seawater was indeed black.

The Qiankun Pagoda, the Word Palace, and the Grandmist Scroll floated high in the sky, shimmering with immortal light.

Inside the Word Palace, Yan Yinuo, a silver-robed youth, and a yellow-robed elder stood in the main hall, their expressions solemn. "Have you sensed it? An Innate Dao Artifact has appeared," Yan Yinuo said gravely.

"We sensed it, but soon lost the connection. It seems like an Innate Dao Artifact that has just given birth to its spirit," the silver-robed youth said.

"Could it be the Dao Artifact that helped us deal with the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda last time? It injured one of the sub-pagodas, but was also injured by the mother pagoda," the yellow-robed elder guessed.

"That's possible. It was able to injure one of the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda's sub-pagodas, making it a good helper. However, it was also injured by the mother pagoda, so recovery won't be easy. The fact that we could sense its presence means its spirit probably awakened, but it might have fallen back into slumber, which is why we can't sense it anymore, or it might have blocked our perception," Yan Yinuo analyzed.

"I estimate that the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda and other Dao Artifacts with spirits have also sensed its presence. They will certainly search for this Dao Artifact. Other Dao Artifacts are fine, but it absolutely cannot be found by the Ten Directions Mother-Child Pagoda, or it will surely be destroyed by him," the yellow-robed elder said.

"Hmph, that eccentric truly would do such a thing," the silver-robed youth agreed wholeheartedly.

"In that case, we'll have to travel everywhere. If the Dao Artifact's spirit doesn't cause a major stir, it will be difficult for us to sense its presence," Yan Yinuo suggested.

"Alright then! We'll move around more, appearing in the world a few more times if need be. Hopefully, we can find this Dao Artifact," the silver-robed youth agreed.

In the Tianxian Sea Region, on Qinglian Island, within a secret chamber on Qinglian Peak.

Wang Changsheng stood before the Green Lotus Creation Cauldron, gazing at the inscriptions on its inner wall with overwhelming joy. As he expected, the cultivation methods for opening the sixth and seventh apertures had appeared on the cauldron wall.

Opening the sixth and seventh apertures required the assistance of a Tier 2 Immortal Array. The sixth aperture needed the crystal core of a Gold Immortal-stage seven-colored Chaos Beast, while the seventh aperture required the crystal core of a Gold Immortal-stage mutated seven-colored Chaos Beast.

Wang Changsheng frowned, muttering to himself, "Crystal cores from seven-colored Chaos Beasts? That's so difficult."

With their current strength, they were confident in dealing with Gold Immortal-stage five-colored Chaos Beasts, but six-colored ones were uncertain, and seven-colored ones would be very difficult.

The most troublesome part was the need for a Tier 2 Immortal Array Master to help set up the array. Ye Haitang, Bai Yuqi, and Wang Yong'an were all True Immortals; it was unknown how long it would take them to cultivate to the Gold Immortal stage.

Wang Changsheng could ask a Gold Immortal-stage Immortal Array Master for help. He would only provide the materials, and the other party wouldn't know their purpose. Even if they guessed Wang Changsheng was using them for opening apertures, Gold Immortal cultivators who weren't practicing the 'Profound Infant Aperture Opening Great Law' wouldn't be able to use them.

Wang Changsheng took out the half-finished Mid-Grade Immortal Extermination Cannon, placed it inside the cauldron, and closed the lid. He then injected immortal essence into the Green Lotus Creation Cauldron. Soon, the green lotus patterns on the cauldron glowed brightly. After a while, the green lotus patterns dimmed.

He opened the lid, revealing dozens of materials inside.

"You're having me restore materials? Isn't that a bit of an overkill?" a young, childish male voice sounded.

Wang Changsheng was slightly startled and looked towards the Green Lotus Creation Cauldron.

The green lotus patterns instantly flared brightly, and a clear-faced boy in a green shirt walked out. "You are the artifact spirit?" Wang Changsheng asked, puzzled.
