Chapter 394: Wang Changsheng Leaves Seclusion

Five years passed quickly, as spring turned to autumn. In a quiet courtyard, Wang Qingzhi's family was having dinner.

The family of five consisted of Wang Qingzhi and Qi Shanshan, along with their children Wang Qiuhong, Wang Qiushuang, and Wang Qiuming.

Wang Qiuhong was ten years old, Wang Qiushuang nine, and Wang Qiuming, Wang Qingzhi's third son, was six.

The two boys and one girl all had triple spiritual roots.

Wang Qingzhi looked at his children, his eyes filled with doting affection.

A hurried shout suddenly rang out: "Seventh Brother, are you there?"

Wang Qiuhong frowned and said, "It's Sixth Brother again. He's here. Sister, little brother, eat quickly, or he'll finish all our food."

"Qiuhong, what kind of talk is that! Your Sixth Brother isn't a stranger. How can you say such things!" Wang Qingzhi scolded, his face stern.

Wang Qiushuang pouted and said, "Dad, Sixth Brother always comes when we're having dinner, and he always finishes all our food."

Qi Shanshan glared at Wang Qiushuang and said playfully, "If it's finished, I'll just make more. Have you forgotten how much delicious food your Great-Uncle Thrice has made for you over time?"

"Exactly! And this time, I've brought food myself."

Just as he finished speaking, a short, stout young man walked in.

The young man wore a loose, golden brocade robe, his belly bulging as if it might burst his waistband at any moment. His face was fair and round, and his plump little hands were quite fleshy.

This was Wang Qiuxin, Wang Qingze's son.

Wang Qiuxin carried an exquisite food container, and he swallowed hard, gazing at the delicious food on the dining table.

"Ninth Uncle, Ninth Aunt, Seventh Brother, Eighth Sister, Ninth Brother, Grandfather sent me to bring you some delicious food." Wang Qiuxin held up the food container he was carrying and said earnestly.

Wang Qingzhi nodded and said with a smile, "Great-Uncle Thrice is too kind. Qiuxin, you haven't had dinner yet, have you? Come, sit down and eat a bit with us. My dear, please get some rice for Qiuxin."

Qi Shanshan acknowledged him and was about to head to the kitchen.

"No need, Ninth Aunt, I can do it myself. I wouldn't want to trouble you with such a small matter." Wang Qiuxin put down the food container, pulled out a large, golden bowl the size of a watermelon from his embrace, and hurried towards the kitchen.

"Dad, Mom, see? What did I tell you? Sixth Brother even brought his own bowl! It's so big, one of his bowls is equal to ten of ours," Wang Qiushuang said, pouting her cherry-red lips, a hint of displeasure in her voice.

Wang Qingzhi glared and reprimanded, "Don't say things that are bad for family unity. We're a family; what's wrong with eating a few extra bowls of rice? Besides, your Sixth Brother brought dishes this time, and Great-Uncle Thrice is a first-tier Spirit Chef! His food is delicious."

Qi Shanshan opened the food container and took out the dishes—five dishes and one soup, all still warm.

In the kitchen, Wang Qiuxin filled his special large bowl with rice. Only when the bowl was completely full did he walk out, looking utterly satisfied.

Just as he stepped out, a young man in a blue robe approached him. It was Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng had been in secluded cultivation for seven years and, with the aid of the Profound Ice Cold Water, had successfully advanced to the ninth layer of Foundation Establishment.

He looked at the plump young man in front of him, his face full of doubt. He said uncertainly, "Are you Qiuhong?" Wang Qiuhong used to love grabbing food when he was little. After seven years, he had actually become so plump.

Feeling the powerful spiritual pressure emanating from Wang Changsheng, Wang Qiuxin's eyes darted. Holding his large bowl with both hands, he bowed respectfully and said, "Your grandson Wang Qiuxin greets Ninth Great-Uncle. My father is Wang Qingze."

Wang Changsheng suddenly realized. He then remembered something and asked with a puzzled expression, "You're Third Brother's grandson? What are you doing here?"

Wang Qiuxin gave an awkward smile and said, "Grandfather asked me to bring some food to Ninth Uncle, and Ninth Uncle told me to sit and eat with them, so I ate a little. Ninth Great-Uncle, would you like some?" He held out the large bowl in his hands to Wang Changsheng. The sparkling, translucent rice emitted an inviting aroma.

"Your filial piety is enough. You keep it and eat it!" Wang Changsheng chuckled softly and then stepped out.

Seeing Wang Changsheng, Wang Qingzhi and Qi Shanshan quickly stood up and said in unison: "Congratulations, Father, on completing your seclusion."

Wang Changsheng nodded, his gaze falling upon Wang Qiuhong and the other two children.

Wang Qingzhi understood and pointed to the three children, introducing them, "Father, these are Qiuhong, Qiushuang, and Qiuming. They are all your grandchildren."

"Your grandchildren greet you, Grandfather, and congratulate you on completing your seclusion." Wang Qiuhong and the other two bowed in unison.

Looking at his three grandchildren, Wang Changsheng's face was full of doting affection. He picked up Wang Qiuming, sat down, and asked, "You're Qiuming, right? How old are you this year?"

"Grandfather, I'm six years old, and I'm already at the first layer of Qi Condensation!" Wang Qiuming said with a hint of pride.

Wang Changsheng's face showed surprise. He said, "Qiuming is at the first layer of Qi Condensation? Excellent! You must cultivate diligently and never be lazy, understand?"

"Understood, Grandfather. I will cultivate diligently." Wang Qiuming nodded, his tender young face filled with seriousness.

"Such a good boy. Truly worthy of being Grandfather's good grandson." Wang Changsheng kissed Wang Qiuming, his face full of loving kindness.

Just then, Wang Changtai walked in quickly. Seeing Wang Changsheng, his eyes showed a hint of joy, and he said solemnly: "Ninth Brother, Twenty-first Uncle is back, and he's in the deliberation hall now. You'd better go there; something serious has happened."

Wang Changsheng frowned and instructed Wang Qingzhi, "Continue with your dinner. Don't let the children go hungry. I'll be back later."

After saying this, Wang Changsheng and Wang Changtai quickly headed towards the deliberation hall.

In the deliberation hall, Wang Mingjiang sat on a chair, his clothes ragged and his expression dazed.

Wang Changfeng lay on the ground, his eyes tightly closed, completely devoid of breath. His skin was black, clearly indicating severe poisoning.

Wang Qingkai stood nearby, his brows tightly furrowed.

Not long after, Wang Changsheng and Wang Changtai entered.

"Elder Brother!"

Seeing Wang Changfeng lying on the ground, his face completely black, Wang Changsheng's heart sank. He quickly stepped forward to check Wang Changfeng's condition. "Twenty-first Uncle, what happened? Who did this to Elder Brother?" Wang Changsheng said with a grim face, a cold glint in his eyes.

Hearing this, Wang Mingjiang's eyes reddened. He choked out, "It was me, I harmed Changfeng."

Wang Changsheng frowned, pondered for a moment, then instructed Wang Qingkai and Wang Changtai, "Both of you, please leave first. I need to speak with Twenty-first Uncle."

Wang Changtai and Wang Qingkai acknowledged him and turned to leave.

Wang Changsheng casually cast a sound-insulating barrier, then asked in a deep voice, "Twenty-first Uncle, what exactly happened?"

Wang Mingjiang let out a long breath, wiped away his tears, and recounted the entire sequence of events.

Upon learning that Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng had ambushed and killed disciples of the Taiyi Immortal Sect, Wang Changsheng broke out in a cold sweat. Disregarding the fact that Wang Mingjiang was his elder, he angrily said, "Twenty-first Uncle, you're playing with fire! One small mistake, and our entire clan could be annihilated! How dare you ambush and kill disciples of the Taiyi Immortal Sect? If the Taiyi Immortal Sect traces this back to our Wang family, will we have any way out? Don't forget how Uncle Mingren became a disciple of the Taiyi Immortal Sect."
