Chapter 392: Killing and Seizing the Treasure

After leaving the market, the woman in the green skirt summoned a green flying boat. She stepped onto it, followed by the other two women. The green flying boat then carried the three of them swiftly towards the mountain gate of the Taiyi Immortal Sect.

An hour later, Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng emerged.

Wang Mingjiang raised his hand, and a palm-sized green paper crane flew out. After he cast a spell upon it, the paper crane rapidly grew in size, transforming into a giant green crane several *zhang* tall.

This was a top-grade second-tier flying talisman-weapon, capable of flying faster than even a top-grade flying magical artifact.

Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng climbed onto it. Wang Changfeng held a plump, red-eared spirit rat in his arms.

This red-eared rat was a low-grade second-tier spirit rat with an acute sense of smell. Wang Changfeng had stumbled upon it by chance and tamed it, originally planning to use it to locate rare spiritual herbs. Now, however, it was serving to track the three women.

They dared not approach too closely, to avoid alerting their targets.

The giant green crane emitted a clear cry, carrying them as it pursued the woman in the green skirt.

Above a dense forest, a green flying boat swiftly glided by, carrying the woman in the green skirt and her two companions.

"With this bottle of Spirit-Strengthening Liquid, we should be able to uncover the secrets within that jade stone," the woman in the green skirt said with a smile. Suddenly, her delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly, and she turned to look behind her.

A gigantic green crane was flying towards them, carrying Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng.

"Fellow junior sisters, please stop. Your elder brother has something to discuss with you," Wang Mingjiang called out loudly. Some disciples of the Taiyi Immortal Sect wore casual clothes, and given the vast number of disciples, it was impossible for them all to know one another.

Hearing this, the woman in the green skirt didn't find it strange and honestly remained where she was.

However, upon seeing Wang Changfeng, the woman in the green skirt's brows furrowed tightly. She suddenly realized something and shouted, "No, they are not disciples of our sect! Run!"

At the teahouse, Wang Changfeng had hurried past them, and now he appeared here again. To claim there was no problem would be utterly unbelievable.

At this moment, Wang Mingjiang and his companion were less than a hundred *zhang* away from the three women.

Without a moment's hesitation, Wang Mingjiang summoned two Hundred-Sword Talismans, which instantly transformed into hundreds of golden flying swords, striking towards the three women.

Meanwhile, Wang Changfeng summoned a red short ruler, which multiplied into hundreds of identical red short rulers, all targeting the three women.

The woman in the green skirt reacted swiftly, immediately casting a protective shield on herself. The other two women either cast shields on themselves or brought forth defensive magical artifacts.

A series of muffled crackling sounds ensued as they successfully blocked Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng's attacks.

Lacking extensive combat experience, the golden flying swords and red short rulers failed to pierce their defenses. Instead, the attacks struck the green flying boat beneath their feet, causing it to shatter into pieces and sending the three women plummeting towards the ground.

The woman in the green skirt hastily slapped a Flying Sky Talisman onto herself. A pair of green wings sprouted from her back, and with a gentle flap, she stabilized her descent.

The other two women reacted a beat too slowly; they were each struck down by several red flying knives and three blue flying swords.

The woman in the green skirt's beautiful face paled. Without a word, she slapped a golden talisman onto herself, transforming into a streak of golden light that shot through the air at an incredibly high speed.

"Uncle Twenty-One," Wang Changfeng transmitted, "quickly take care of the belongings on those two. I'll go after her; we absolutely cannot let her escape."

After transmitting the instruction, Wang Changfeng urged his flying talisman-weapon forward in pursuit, while Wang Mingjiang slowly descended on his flying magical artifact.

Wang Changfeng moved incredibly fast. He drew out a shimmering red longbow, nocked an arrow, and took aim at the streak of golden light.

*Swish, swish, swish!*

Several sharp whistling sounds pierced the air as red arrows shot forth, heading directly for the golden light.

A shrill female scream echoed, and the woman in the green skirt plummeted from high in the sky, rapidly falling towards the ground.

Wang Changfeng maneuvered his flying talisman-weapon, swiftly giving chase.

Not long after, he stopped. The woman in the green skirt had landed on the canopy of a towering tree, her eyes tightly closed, a red arrow protruding from her chest.

The woman in the green skirt suddenly opened her eyes. She raised a hand, and a palm-sized green iron cylinder shot out, upon which she cast a spell.

A mechanical sound ensued as the front end of the green iron cylinder dropped off, revealing numerous tiny holes.

A loud hissing sound erupted as countless green lights shot forth, directly at Wang Changfeng.

Wang Changfeng's expression changed. He quickly cast a spell, causing a dazzling red light to emanate from his body and form a thick, red light barrier close to him. Simultaneously, his flying talisman-weapon carried him away, attempting to evade the attack.

The sheer number of green lights was overwhelming. Some struck the red light barrier, instantly shattering it, while over a dozen green lights pierced Wang Changfeng's right shoulder. The flying talisman-weapon itself was hit by countless green lights and utterly destroyed.

He let out a cry of agony and rapidly plummeted towards the ground.

Enduring the intense pain, Wang Changfeng slapped a Flying Talisman onto himself. A pair of green wings sprouted from his back, and he managed to barely stabilize himself.

Two green flying knives shot towards him. Wang Changfeng hastily dodged, but his reaction was still a beat too slow, and his left arm was severed by a green flying knife, bleeding profusely.

The woman in the green skirt tried to continue her attack, but Wang Mingjiang arrived. He quickly summoned a fist-sized black orb, which shot directly towards her.

The black orb was incredibly fast. As soon as it came within ten *zhang* of the woman, it exploded, unleashing countless black long nails that shot directly towards her.

The woman in the green skirt reacted swiftly as well. She slapped two second-tier defensive talismans onto herself, causing a green light barrier and then a red light barrier to appear, enveloping her entire body.

She then summoned a green shield, holding it before her.

The countless black long nails struck the green shield with a muffled sound like rain hitting leaves. The green shield was shattered, and the green light barrier also broke soon after. Fortunately, the red light barrier remained intact, saving the woman's life.

Just then, three blue flying swords attacked from behind her, easily destroying the red light barrier and severing her head.

Wang Mingjiang swiftly flew to the woman's corpse, collected her valuables, and then conjured a fireball to incinerate the body.

Wang Changfeng found his breathing growing difficult, his eyelids heavy, and his body uncontrollably falling towards the ground. Fortunately, Wang Mingjiang caught him.

"Changfeng, are you alright?" Wang Mingjiang asked, his voice choked. "You absolutely must be okay."

"Uncle Twenty-One," Wang Changfeng said weakly, forcing a smile, "I think I've been poisoned. If I don't make it, please take my body back to Qinglian Mountain."

Wang Mingjiang hastily took out two green pills and put them into Wang Changfeng's mouth, saying with a choked voice, "No, you won't die! You must live for me; you cannot die!"

Wang Changfeng felt his eyelids grow heavier and heavier, and he uncontrollably closed his eyes.

Wang Mingjiang carefully examined him, finding that Wang Changfeng was not dead, but merely unconscious.

"You'll be alright," Wang Mingjiang said, his eyes red. "Let's go home, let's go home together."

"Daring to commit murder in the Taiyi Mountain Range? You're seeking death!"

A man's angry shout suddenly echoed from the horizon.

Wang Mingjiang's face changed drastically. He hastily crushed an Earth Escape Talisman, clutched Wang Changfeng, and vanished into the ground.

Not long after, a blue streak of light flew from afar, revealing a middle-aged Confucian scholar at the Foundation Establishment stage.

The middle-aged Confucian scholar landed on the ground and saw the head of the woman in the green skirt rolling nearby. His expression changed drastically. "Isn't this Junior Sister Li, Uncle Liu's registered disciple? Damn it! Daring to ambush and kill a disciple of our Taiyi Immortal Sect! No matter where you flee, to the ends of the earth, our Taiyi Immortal Sect will absolutely not spare you!"

The middle-aged Confucian scholar collected the woman's head and flew towards the mountain gate of the Taiyi Immortal Sect.
