Chapter 3391: Five Thunder Beast

A vast azure plain, where explosions constantly echoed, and azure and red lights interwove. Large numbers of red fiend wolves lay on the ground; some had been dead for a long time, while others, still alive, whimpered mournfully.

Four men and one woman were attacking two entirely red fiend wolves. Leading them was a graceful young woman in a white dress, with a pair of white feathered wings on her back. A gigantic phantom of a falcon appeared above her head. Judging by her aura, she was unmistakably a late-stage Integration cultivator. Above the heads of the other four, there were also giant bird phantoms, though their colors differed.

"Let's finish this quickly; we have important matters to attend to!" the young woman in white said in a deep voice. She formed a hand seal, and the falcon phantom above her head gently flapped its wings. A vast, white tornado surged forth, heading straight for one of the red fiend wolves. Where the white tornado passed, large quantities of white ice shards appeared on the ground. It quickly reached the red fiend wolf.

The red fiend wolf tried to evade, but an invisible force emanated from the nearby void, as if an unseen giant hand was binding it in place. Unable to escape, the red fiend wolf could only activate its Dharma Aspect, spewing out a thick crimson flame. Simultaneously, it opened its mouth and blasted out a crimson sound wave to meet the attack.

After a thunderous roar, the white tornado shattered, releasing a vast expanse of bone-chilling cold qi that enveloped an area of several dozen miles. When the red fiend wolf touched the cold qi, its body rapidly froze. A burst of crimson flames erupted from its body, melting the ice. A giant white bird claw materialized out of thin air, striking the giant wolf phantom. After a painful roar, the giant wolf phantom dissipated. With its Dharma Aspect shattered, the red fiend wolf let out a tragic howl as the white bird claw descended upon its body.

The ground shook violently as the red fiend wolf's massive body sank into the earth. Before it could rise, a streak of white light shot forth, striking the red fiend wolf. Its body rapidly froze at a visible rate, turning into a colossal ice sculpture. The white bird claw reached down, shattering the ice sculpture. As soon as a miniature red wolf emerged from the body, a gleaming white jade bottle appeared out of thin air, emitting a white glow that swept away the miniature red wolf.

At this moment, the four Integration cultivators also finished off the other red fiend wolf.

"We just entered the Myriad Spirit Ruins and encountered a pack of Crimson Flame Wolves. The wolf king is a seventh-tier high-grade beast. Thankfully, Aunt Bingbing is here, or we would have been in grave danger," a delicate-looking girl in a green dress said with a smile.

The young woman in white was named Feng Bingbing. She hailed from the Wind Falcon clan, and they were all cultivators from the Wind Falcon clan.

"Stop flattering me. Quickly clean up the battlefield. Hopefully, we can successfully acquire that item," Feng Bingbing urged.

They collected the corpses of the high-grade fiend wolves and departed from the area.

A vast, dense black forest, from which came a series of loud explosions. The ground trembled slightly. Deep within the dense forest, Wang Qingfeng, Wang Yi'er, Wang Zongque, Dong Xueli, Duan Tongtian, Wang Yong'an, Wang Shenfeng, Wang Kui, and Wang Rumeng—a group of nine—stood in a clearing, their brows furrowed. On the ground, numerous broken green vines and many fallen black trees could be seen. They had been very careful, yet they still triggered a restriction and were attacked by an array.

Numerous black trees surrounded them, swaying gently. Many leaves fell, transforming into sharp blades that slashed towards them. Simultaneously, green vines emerged from the ground, lashing at them like long whips.

Wang Yong'an frowned, pointing at several black trees. "Destroying those trees should temporarily stop the array from functioning."

Wang Qingfeng, wielding the Heaven-Burning Blade, made a horizontal slash. A crimson blade qi swept out, felling many black trees at their trunks. However, new black trees quickly grew from the ground and began to move rapidly. Wang Rumeng formed a hand seal, causing the void to vibrate and distort with a "buzzing" sound. Countless blue seawater surged forth, accompanied by a deafening roar of a tsunami. A hazy blue water mountain materialized out of thin air and crashed into the black trees. After a tremendous roar, many black trees snapped at their trunks, turning into countless wood chips. The ground tore open, and dust filled the sky. It was precisely "Overturning Rivers and Seas!"

After a while, the black trees stopped moving, and no more green vines or trees emerged from the ground.

"It's a good thing Yong'an found the array core. Otherwise, we might have been trapped here. It's really strange; the puppet beasts didn't trigger the restriction when they went ahead, but we did when we walked in," Dong Xueli let out a sigh of relief, puzzled.

"Some restrictions are special; they take a certain amount of time to activate, making them hard to guard against," Wang Yong'an explained. "What I found isn't the array core; I just temporarily stopped the array from running. We need to leave immediately; the array will reactivate soon. If it were so easy to destroy the array core, then all the treasures in the Myriad Spirit Ruins would have been taken long ago." He added that if it were that easy to detect, they would have found it long ago, and the restriction wouldn't have been triggered.

They quickly left the dense forest. In less than half an hour, a towering, cloud-piercing peak appeared before them. Wang Qingfeng held a red spherical bead in one hand—the Scarlet Eye Orb. This was a mid-grade Sky-reaching Spirit Treasure refined from the eye of a Multi-Eyed race cultivator at the Integration stage, possessing a similar wondrous effect to Wang Tun Tian's spirit eyes.

"Finally found it. It's in a cave a hundred miles away," Wang Qingfeng said in a deep voice. They had been in the Myriad Spirit Ruins for some time, searching areas where the Five-Thunder Beast might appear, and had finally managed to find this place.

"Yong'an, Shenfeng, set up a seventh-tier array. Prepare to kill the Five-Thunder Beast," Wang Qingfeng instructed.

Wang Yong'an took out array flags and an array disk, and he and Wang Shenfeng began setting up the array. Dong Xueli summoned a white cloth bag, struck it with a hand seal, and a white glow sprayed out. A giant, entirely white eagle flew out from it, its body covered in blood. This was a sixth-tier Snow Wind Eagle they had captured in the Myriad Spirit Ruins, and it would be of great use.

As soon as the Snow Wind Eagle appeared, it tried to escape. Wang Qingfeng raised his right hand, and a Seven-Star Spirit Control Talisman flew out, merging into the Snow Wind Eagle's body. The Snow Wind Eagle's body trembled slightly, then circled above his head.

Wang Yi'er put on a pair of white gloves and took out an exquisite green jade box. Opening it, he revealed some white, paste-like substance. This was Immortal Dissolving Paste, one of the ten great poisons. It could slowly drain a cultivator's spiritual power. It was quite effective on cultivators below the Mahayana stage and also worked on demonic beasts. He tied some white cloth strips to the Snow Wind Eagle's sharp claws and applied some Immortal Dissolving Paste onto the strips.

"Rumeng, madam, come with me to lure the Five-Thunder Beast. The rest of you stay here," Wang Qingfeng said. He jumped onto the Snow Wind Eagle's back, followed closely by Wang Rumeng and Dong Xueli. The Snow Wind Eagle gently flapped its wings and took to the air, but it didn't fly too high, hovering only about ten-odd zhang above the ground and not moving quickly.

A hundred miles away, in a hidden underground cave, a colossal beast, its body covered in countless silver scales, lay coiled in a corner. The beast had a five-colored horn on its head and its eyes were closed.
