Chapter 3321: Luring the Enemy

Pinnacle of Green Lotus

The Orcs gained considerable merit in the war to exterminate the Lizardmen, acquiring significant territory and resources. The Golden Wolf Mountain Range was just one of these. This mountain range stretches for tens of millions of miles and serves as an Orc stronghold, housing a large spiritual herb garden. Four Void Refinement cultivators were stationed there by the Orcs to protect the garden.

Meng Gang had cultivated for over ten millennia and was currently at the mid-Void Refinement stage, serving as the leader of this Golden Wolf Mountain Range stronghold.

Within an estate spanning a thousand acres, Meng Gang sat in a blue stone pavilion with a burly, golden-robed man who had the head of an ape. The golden-robed man was named Yuan Xin, also at the mid-Void Refinement stage.

"In another thousand years, it will be Elder Xiong's grand birthday," Yuan Xin asked with a smile. "Fellow Daoist Meng, what gift have you prepared?"

An area of a billion miles was under Xiong Hao's management. Xiong Hao was stationed in the Five-Light Mountain Range, which contained a valuable medium-sized Five-Light Jade mine. The Orcs had assigned two Integration stage cultivators to oversee it, with Xiong Hao as their leader. After years of recuperation, the Orcs had recovered their strength and advanced to a higher level. This was entirely normal, as their expanded territory and increased cultivation resources made it difficult for them not to grow stronger.

"I'm worried about that too!" Meng Gang sighed, his face full of concern. "Ordinary items certainly won't impress Elder Xiong, and I can't acquire anything too precious." Xiong Hao possessed mid-Integration stage cultivation, having cultivated for over twenty millennia. He was well-traveled and knowledgeable; what valuable item hadn't he seen? Xiong Hao was their immediate superior, and they had to appease him. Even if Xiong Hao chose not to accept a gift, indicating he didn't care for such minor details, their failure to offer one would be considered disrespectful.

"I'm worried too!" Yuan Xin sighed, explaining that the spiritual herbs in the garden were communal property, not their personal possessions. "Fellow Daoist Hu, who is stationed in Purple Cicada Valley, gave Senior Xiong a generous gift last time, and Senior Xiong arranged a lucrative position for him." While the spiritual herb garden had abundant spiritual energy, making it suitable for cultivation, it offered little in terms of 'perks.' Guarding a mine, however, was much more lucrative, as the cultivators overseeing the mine determined how much ore was extracted, leaving ample room for manipulation.

Just as Meng Gang was about to speak, he took out a golden communication plate and activated it with a spell. A surprised male voice rang out, "Elder Meng, we discovered a sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon in Sky-Chant Valley. Many clansmen were killed by it."

"A sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon? How could one appear there?" Meng Gang asked, puzzled.

"We had previously found a fifth-tier Lightning Python and intended to kill it, but we didn't expect it to transform into a flood dragon," came the explanation.

Hearing this explanation, Meng Gang nodded. "A sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon! If we present this to Senior Xiong as a gift, it would definitely be excellent," Yuan Xin said excitedly. Sixth-tier flood dragons were rare on the Profound Spirit Continent, and presenting one as a birthday gift to an Integration stage cultivator was indeed a splendid idea.

Meng Gang cut the connection and instead contacted other clansmen: "Meng Lie, have there been any recent abnormalities with the human race? Have you found any traces of them?" This area was over a hundred billion miles from human territory. The Orcs had established numerous outposts along the way to monitor the human race, ensuring they would receive news if a large-scale human invasion occurred.

"No traces of human activity have been found recently," a low male voice replied through the communication plate. "Several clansmen went out to hunt demon beasts and encountered the sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon, leading to their deaths."

Meng Gang nodded, then contacted several Nascent Soul stage clansmen. The responses were largely consistent: no traces of human activity had been found.

"Fellow Daoist Meng, aren't you being overly cautious?" Yuan Xin said dismissively. "With so many outposts along the way, a large human force would surely be detected, and a small force would simply be seeking death."

"It's better to be careful," Meng Gang replied. "Come, let's make a trip to Sky-Chant Valley and capture the sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon to present as a birthday gift to Senior Xiong."

Meng Gang put away the communication plate. He and Yuan Xin, accompanied by two clansmen, departed. They flew over twenty million miles, arriving above a continuous, undulating emerald green mountain range. Meng Gang's divine sense spread wide, meticulously scanning the mountain range, but he found no anomalies.

They arrived above a giant valley where several massive craters marred the ground. A few faintly glowing treasures could be seen, indicating signs of a battle.

"Elders Meng and Yuan," said a yellow-robed youth with a dog's head, pointing to a massive cave within the valley. "The lightning flood dragon is in that cave. It was originally a lightning python's nest, and we don't know what serendipitous encounter it had to transform into a flood dragon."

No sooner had he spoken than a deafening dragon roar echoed, and an entirely silver flood dragon flew out from the massive cave, its body enveloped by countless silver electric arcs. Judging by its aura, it was clearly a sixth-tier flood dragon.

"Attack!"

Meng Gang's expression darkened. He conjured a red-glowing long staff and swung it, transforming it into a gigantic red mountain that crashed towards the silver flood dragon. Yuan Xin activated a spell, and a colossal ape-headed humanoid phantom appeared in the sky above him. The orc phantom opened its mouth and spat out a shimmering golden sound wave, which shot directly towards the silver flood dragon.

Countless silver electric arcs surged from the silver flood dragon's body, and it vanished from its original position. Their attacks missed. Meng Gang and Yuan Xin reacted swiftly, immediately separating. The next moment, the silver flood dragon reappeared above Meng Gang, opening its mouth to spew a thick silver lightning bolt that engulfed Meng Gang's figure.

A clear, resounding phoenix cry echoed as a colossal black phoenix flew in from a distance, opening its mouth to spew a sheet of crimson flames directly at Yuan Xin.

"A sixth-tier Black Phoenix! This is bad, it's an ambush!" Yuan Xin turned pale with shock. The appearance of a sixth-tier Lightning Flood Dragon here could be a coincidence, but the emergence of a sixth-tier Black Phoenix as well was no longer coincidental. Yuan Xin activated a spell, and the orc phantom emitted a golden sound wave, shattering the incoming crimson flames. The orc phantom moved its arms, sending golden fist-shadows flying towards the black phoenix. The black phoenix flapped its wings violently, its body ablaze with intense fire, and it vanished from its spot.

The two Nascent Soul stage Orcs realized something was wrong and were about to return to report. A piercing whoosh filled the air as a gleaming golden spear shot towards them. Two screams later, the golden spear pierced through the heads of the two Nascent Soul stage Orcs, killing them.

Wang Shenxiong, Wang Xiuyan, Wang Yongheng, and Wang Chuanming appeared, their expressions indifferent. Wang Shenxiong and Wang Xiuyan were currently at the mid-Void Refinement stage, and both the Lightning Flood Dragon and Black Phoenix had successively advanced to the sixth-tier.

"Don't let them escape," Wang Chuanming said gravely. He wielded his saber, attacking Meng Gang and Yuan Xin. Their objective was to control these two, then use the Golden Wolf Mountain Range outpost to teleport to the Five-Light Mountain Range, executing a pincer movement. Other clan members would launch a frontal assault on the Orc stronghold, creating a simultaneous attack from inside and out.

All four of them attacked, and with the assistance of the Lightning Flood Dragon and Black Phoenix, they quickly severely wounded Yuan Xin and Meng Gang. Wang Chuanming then used two Seven-Star Spirit Control Talismans to subdue them.

"Yongheng, contact Ancestor Yingjie immediately and tell him we succeeded," Wang Chuanming instructed.

Wang Yongheng acknowledged, conjured an armadillo puppet beast, entered its body, and burrowed underground to leave. Even if Orc cultivators discovered the armadillo puppet beast, they would assume it was a normal armadillo, not a human cultivator.

Wang Xiuyan and Wang Shenxiong put away their spiritual beasts and insects. The four entered the cave to wait. In less than half an hour, Wang Yingjie, Liu Hongxue, and over a dozen other clansmen arrived.

Meng Gang conjured a golden-glowing flying boat, and Wang Yingjie and the others boarded it one by one. Liu Hongxue conjured a red-glowing banner. With a gentle wave, a large expanse of red mist surged forth, engulfing their figures. Meng Gang and Yuan Xin were not among them. A breeze swept through, and the red mist vanished, along with Wang Yingjie and the others. Meng Gang activated a spell, and the golden flying boat immediately shone brightly, flying back along the path they had come from.
