Chapter 3155: Not Comfortable

Wang Mengbin gained a general understanding of the Hundred Races Grand Assembly after Zhang Yunhai's introduction.

The Hundred Races Grand Assembly was still several years away. In the interim, cultivators from various races could exchange cultivation resources, filling each other's needs. Major merchants also planned to host auctions, offering rare cultivation resources to attract a wide array of cultivators.

Wang Mengbin was somewhat surprised that even items like Nine-Light Divine Clay and the 100,000-year-old East-Yi Divine Wood could be exchanged.

"Heh heh, I've even heard that the Heavenly Void Jade Scroll can be exchanged," Zhang Yunhai chuckled meaningfully. "However, I haven't seen it with my own eyes. I only heard that an Integration Realm cultivator from another race managed to acquire a page of it, though the contents are unknown."

The Hundred Races Grand Assembly was considered the grandest event on the Qianyuan Continent, offering a significant opportunity for cultivators. Some were fortunate, stumbling upon valuable finds or exchanging for high-grade tribulation-crossing materials, while others had bad luck, spending exorbitant amounts on counterfeit goods. Both luck and discernment were crucial. A cultivator from a minor clan, for instance, once spent their entire fortune on a material that closely resembled Nine-Light Divine Clay. Only after having it appraised by a treasure expert from the Nine Yuan Merchant Alliance did they realize they had been scammed. The con artist had vanished, and the cultivator suffered a significant loss. During the Assembly, a wide range of cultivation resources would be available, but so would various fakes. If one lacked sufficient discernment, being swindled was simply considered a stroke of bad luck.

"Even the Heavenly Void Jade Scroll can be exchanged?" Wang Yingjie exclaimed in shock.

Zhang Ruofeng explained, "The value of the Heavenly Void Jade Scroll depends entirely on its contents. It's likely to contain some unorthodox or lesser-known information. If it were a cultivation technique or secret art, wouldn't it be better to exchange it with the Heavenly Moon Clan, the Nine Yuan Merchant Alliance, or one of the temporary shops set up by the various races?"

Cultivators from various races had already arrived at Qiyun Peak, setting up temporary shops to acquire cultivation resources in hopes of obtaining rare treasures.

"That's not necessarily true," a hearty male voice interjected. "If you possess a unique skill – perhaps the ability to refine a rare elixir, create a special talisman or exotic treasure, or even master the art of divination – and someone has a need for your services, it's entirely possible to acquire the Heavenly Void Jade Scroll."

Wang Yingjie turned towards the sound's source, spotting a pot-bellied Taoist priest in red robes approaching. The priest had a fair, clean face, a round face with small eyes, and a bulging stomach that seemed ready to burst through his robes at any moment. The red-robed Taoist wore a nine-beam scarf on his head, and his aura was noticeably stronger than Wang Mengbin's.

"Fellow Daoist Bu, you've arrived!" Zhang Yunhai exclaimed warmly. "I was just speaking about you with Madam She a few days ago."

"Fellow Daoist Wang, allow me to introduce you," Zhang Yunhai continued enthusiastically. "This is Fellow Daoist Bu, an executive elder of the Nine Yuan Merchant Alliance. And Fellow Daoist Bu, this is Fellow Daoist Wang."

"It is this humble Taoist, Bu Zizai, who greets Fellow Daoist Wang," the red-robed priest said, bowing with clasped hands and a smiling expression. Not daring to be remiss, Wang Mengbin quickly stated his own name.

The three Integration Realm cultivators led the way, with Wang Yingjie and the other five following behind.

"Fellow Daoist Bu, you mentioned that mastering the art of divination could also lead to acquiring a Heavenly Void Jade Scroll?" Wang Mengbin asked, intrigued.

While diviners had appeared in the East-Li Realm, and some members of the Wang family had even studied the art of divination, their achievements had been modest, and their abilities rather unremarkable. Diviners also existed on the Profound Spirit Continent, but their cultivation levels were generally not high, and their abilities were limited.

Bu Zizai nodded. "Precisely. Divine Monarch Xuanji himself acquired a Heavenly Void Jade Scroll through exchange. He is widely acknowledged as the foremost diviner in the Profound Yang Realm. I've heard that his two disciples are also attending this Hundred Races Grand Assembly."

"Divine Monarch Xuanji, the foremost diviner in the Profound Yang Realm?" Wang Mengbin repeated, a hint of surprise in his voice. He had never heard of this individual before.

"It's perfectly normal that Fellow Daoist Wang hasn't heard of Divine Monarch Xuanji," Zhang Yunhai explained. "His whereabouts are unpredictable, and he rarely makes public appearances. I only learned of his existence through Fellow Daoist Gan of the Qiankun Palace. I've heard that even Grand Ascension cultivators seek his divination, but Divine Monarch Xuanji reportedly refrains from divining for cultivators a full realm higher than himself, claiming the backlash would be too severe for him to withstand."

The art of divination involves prying into heavenly secrets, and diviners inevitably face backlash. The higher the cultivation of the individual being divined for, and the greater the significance of the matters involved, the more severe the backlash.

"Even Grand Ascension cultivators seek his divination?" Wang Mengbin was stunned. Even if it was mere hearsay, it spoke volumes about Divine Monarch Xuanji's capabilities. A great reputation isn't built on nothing; an ordinary diviner wouldn't command such widespread renown.

"It's just what I've heard, but he truly is in high demand; a single reading from him is hard to come by," Bu Zizai chuckled. "If one could even get his disciples to perform a divination, that would be quite good."

A quarter of an hour later, they found themselves on a bustling street. The pedestrians were exclusively human cultivators, ranging from Nascent Soul to Integration Realm. A young woman in a purple dress, with exquisitely beautiful features, quickly approached and stopped before them.

"Junior Xia Yan of the Qiankun Palace pays her respects to the three seniors," the purple-clad maiden said, bowing deeply. "I've been instructed by Senior Master Gan to arrange lodging for Senior Wang."

Wang Mengbin paused for a moment, then quickly understood. With Chen Yueying's advancement to the Grand Ascension stage, the Zhenhai Palace's reputation still carried significant weight among the human cultivators.

"Fellow Daoist Wang, Fellow Daoist Bu and I have a few matters to attend to," Zhang Yunhai said, bidding farewell. "We'll gather again later." With that, Zhang Yunhai parted ways with Wang Mengbin and his group.

Wang Mengbin nodded and said pleasantly, "Thank you, young friend Xia, for leading the way." Xia Yan acknowledged his words and personally guided them.

Soon, they arrived at the entrance of a secluded small courtyard with green tiled roofs. A faint azure light barrier enveloped the entire courtyard. Opposite stood a nine-story azure pavilion, its plaque bearing the three golden characters: "Qiankun Pavilion." The surrounding buildings were modest, mostly small courtyards, far from luxurious.

"Our Qiankun Palace's temporary residence is here, at the Qiankun Pavilion," Xia Yan explained via telepathic message. "The She family, Zhang family, and other major human powers are all residing nearby. This isn't strictly human territory, so please bear with the accommodations, Senior Wang." She then produced an azure token and presented it to Wang Mengbin with both hands.

"Please convey my regards to Fellow Daoist Gan," Wang Mengbin said sincerely as he accepted the token. "I will certainly pay him a visit later."

"Yes, Senior Wang," Xia Yan replied, bowing before withdrawing.

Wang Mengbin infused his spiritual power into the azure token. An azure light shot forth from it, striking the light barrier. The barrier rippled briefly before vanishing. Wang Zongyun pushed open the door and entered. The courtyard was small, featuring a five-story azure pavilion and an azure bamboo pavilion, with several azure spirit bamboos planted beside the latter.

"It's rare that we're here, so let's have a good look around!" Wang Mengbin said with a smile. "Let's see if we can gather Dharma Idol materials like Nether River Water, Heavenly Sound Sand, or Silver-Gang Crystals." They then dispersed to explore. Many cultivators would attend the Hundred Races Grand Assembly. If they could exchange for some rare materials, it would be a stroke of great fortune. If not, even acquiring some high-grade Dharma Idol materials would be beneficial.

...Within a sprawling estate, complete with small bridges, flowing streams, water wheels, and gardens, a handsome young man in a green shirt was reporting to a stern-faced elder in golden robes. The elder's aura was as vast as the ocean, unmistakably that of an Integration Realm cultivator.

This was Tong Feng, an executive elder of the Heavenly Moon Clan, an Integration Realm cultivator at the Mid-stage.
