Chapter 2811: Three Hundred Years

Three hundred years quickly passed as spring turned to autumn.

On Qinglian Island, within a vast estate, Wang Moshan was speaking with Wang Moxin.

"What? The Beiming family's clan treasure, the Celestial Severing Spirit Blade, has appeared?" Wang Moshan asked, frowning in surprise.

The Beiming family had vanished into the river of history. Logically, their clan treasure should also have been destroyed, and even if acquired by outsiders, it would be difficult for them to use. Treasures belonging to cultivation families are typically refined with secret methods, making them usable only by high-ranking cultivators within that specific family; outsiders find them very difficult to wield. However, this restriction does not apply to the sect-guarding treasures of cultivation sects.

"Yes! It was auctioned off to Huang Yilong's second disciple," Wang Moxin said with a tone of regret. Huang Yilong hailed from the Myriad Spirits Sect; during the last race war, he led an expedition and used the Myriad Beast Gong to repel demonic beasts controlled by foreign races.

The Wang family had established their own trade alliance, acquiring cultivation resources by buying low and selling high to profit from the difference. Wang Moxin was responsible for managing the family's businesses and served as the head of the Qinglian Trade Alliance, frequently representing the Wang family at auctions, celebrations, and other events. The Wang family was now a prominent force among the human race on the Profound Spirit Continent. Whenever any human faction held a large auction, the Wang family would receive an invitation, which was both a matter of prestige and a sign of recognition.

Several years ago, he represented the Wang family at an invited auction where the organizer presented the Celestial Severing Spirit Blade. There were nine Celestial Severing Spirit Blades in total, forming a complete set of treasures. The organizer, however, only brought out two, which were then successfully bid on by Huang Yilong's second disciple.

"I recall Huang Yilong cultivates a batch of Vajra Worms; perhaps he uses them to feed a Vajra Worm King," Wang Moshan analyzed. Vajra Worms are ranked fortieth on the Myriad Insect List; they love to consume five metals and spiritually imbued items, are impervious to blades, spears, water, and fire, and can even devour Transcendent Spirit Treasures. The Celestial Severing Spirit Blade is a mid-grade Transcendent Spirit Treasure. If one is not a member of the Beiming family, they should be unable to use it. Therefore, if it's used to feed a Vajra Worm King, then it makes perfect sense.

"Possibly! He might be able to cultivate a seventh-order Vajra Worm King, as the Myriad Spirits Sect has experience in this area," Wang Moxin speculated. The Myriad Spirits Sect has a long history, and several Integration cultivators have successfully raised seventh-order spirit insects, whose divine abilities are considerable.

Just as Wang Moshan was about to speak, he took out a shimmering communication disk from his robes. He cast a spell into it, and Wang Ruyan's voice rang out: "Moshan, are you busy? Come to Qinglian Peak; I have something to discuss with you."

"Yes, Honored Ancestor, I'll be right there," Wang Moshan agreed. He put away the communication disk, gave a few instructions, and then dismissed Wang Moxin.

He arrived at Qinglian Peak and met Wang Ruyan in a secluded courtyard.

"These are two Heavenly Gang Divine Thunder Talismans," Wang Ruyan said. "Place them in the family treasury; do not use them unless there's an emergency."

Wang Ruyan took out two pale silver talismans. Their surfaces were covered with profound runes, shimmering with dazzling lightning and emitting terrifying energy fluctuations. She had spent over seven hundred years to refine these four Heavenly Gang Divine Thunder Talismans. Two were placed in the family treasury as a reserve, available for clan members to apply for when undertaking dangerous missions. As for the remaining two Heavenly Gang Divine Thunder Talismans, she planned to give one to Wang Yidao for self-defense and the other to Wang Qingfeng.

"Seventh-order talismans!" Wang Moshan exclaimed, taking the silver talismans with both hands, his expression filled with excitement.

"Summon Yidao here; I have something to tell him," Wang Ruyan instructed.

"Yidao has left Qinglian Island; Fellow Daoist Duan took him out for training," Wang Moshan truthfully replied. Wang Yidao had entered the Void Refinement stage over three hundred years ago, and his Dharma Aspect had condensed by one-tenth. Duan Tongtian had taken Wang Yidao out for training, and with Duan Tongtian overseeing him, there should be no issues.

"Gone for training? In that case, never mind. You may attend to your duties," Wang Ruyan said, understanding dawning on her. She waved her hand, dismissing Wang Moshan.

The Fire Toad Mountain Range stretches for tens of thousands of miles, perennially shrouded in miasma. Many rare spiritual herbs, seldom found elsewhere, grow here, attracting numerous high-ranking cultivators. However, the region also harbors many poisonous insects and beasts, posing a danger even to Void Refinement cultivators.

Deep within the Fire Toad Mountain Range, at the foot of a steep peak, was a cave over ten zhang wide. Deafening roars periodically emanated from within, shaking the ground violently and causing large quantities of rubble to roll down the mountain.

After a thunderous roar, the peak split in two, sending countless shattered rocks flying. A gigantic red toad flew out, its body covered in bloodstains with hints of white bone visible. A saber hum resonated through the heavens and earth, as a golden, heaven-piercing saber energy swept forth, heading directly towards the red toad. The heaven-piercing saber energy blurred, transforming into a golden flood dragon over a thousand zhang long. It lunged fiercely at the red toad, leaving rough cracks in the void wherever it passed.

The red toad opened its gaping maw and spewed a thick stream of crimson flame, meeting the attack head-on. The crimson flame collided with the golden flood dragon, instantly dispersing like an egg hitting a rock. The golden flood dragon then slammed into the red toad, sending it flying backward. Its enormous body crashed into a peak, shattering it and raising thick clouds of dust.

Ripples spread across the void as a shimmering silver gigantic blade appeared out of thin air. It plunged directly into the dust cloud, from which a miserable roar then echoed. A miniature toad had just flown out of the dust when a golden light descended from the sky, enveloping the miniature toad and sweeping it into a shimmering golden porcelain bottle.

Wang Yidao flew out from a pile of rubble, holding a long saber that shimmered with golden light. A miniature golden flood dragon, depicted as exhaling clouds and mist, was carved on its blade, radiating astonishing spiritual energy. Wang Yidao's face was expressionless, showing no signs of joy, anger, sorrow, or happiness.

A tall, thin old man in golden robes flew down beside Wang Yidao. It was none other than Duan Tongtian, who had altered his appearance. Duan Tongtian had specifically brought Wang Yidao out for training, as Wang Yidao had too few life-and-death battles and needed to improve his combat experience.

Wang Yidao sheathed his golden saber, paying no attention to the red toad. To him, the saber was everything; he needed nothing else to disturb his Dao heart. Whatever resources he needed, the family would provide them.

Duan Tongtian collected the red toad's corpse, which could be sold for a large sum of spirit stones.

A deafening boom resounded, and in the distance, a white streak of light and a green streak of light appeared in the sky. Duan Tongtian frowned. His divine sense detected a Void Refinement cultivator and a Nascent Soul cultivator flying towards them, pursued by a demonic bird.

"I am Du Yunfeng of Hundred Flowers Mountain Villa," a hurried male voice called out. "I implore you two fellow daoists to lend a hand; afterward, I, Du, will surely offer generous thanks."

The two streaks of light were very fast. Soon, Duan Tongtian clearly saw their true forms: a refined man in a green robe and a graceful girl in a white dress. The girl had a melon-seed face, cherry lips, a delicate nose, and skin like congealed fat, appearing to be a budding beauty.

A gigantic, entirely green falcon followed closely behind, periodically flapping its wings to release tens of thousands of huge green wind blades that slashed towards them. Wang Yidao drew his golden saber and slashed at the void. After a piercing saber hum sounded, tens of thousands of golden saber energies swept forth like a golden torrent, heading directly towards the man in the green robe and the girl in the white dress.
