Chapter 239: Marriage

Upon returning to Qinglian Mountain, Wang Changsheng recounted the events to Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng. Both Wang Mingjiang and Wang Changfeng were delighted to learn that Wang Changsheng had been accepted as a registered disciple by Senior Guang. This connection, they realized, would greatly facilitate the future development of the Wang family.

"Changsheng, I've compiled a list of items for the betrothal gifts. What do you think?" Wang Mingjiang asked, producing a blue jade slip and handing it to Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng scanned the jade slip with his divine sense, then took out two blue porcelain bottles. "These are two Foundation Establishment Pills my master bestowed upon me," he said. "Adding these will make the offering even more substantial."

"Excellent! I'll make a trip to Wangjiapu immediately to deliver the betrothal gifts. Changsheng, prepare to be the groom!" Wang Mingjiang said with a smile, accepting the two blue porcelain bottles.

"That's right, Ninth Brother! Get ready to be the groom! Uncle Twenty-One and I will handle everything else for you."

"Then I'll leave it to you."

The next day, Wang Mingjiang, accompanied by ten clan members, left Qinglian Mountain with the betrothal gifts.

At Wang Family Fort, Wang Ruyan was speaking with Yang Yueqin.

"Yan'er," Yang Yueqin earnestly advised, "it's fortunate that Wang Changsheng invited Senior Guang of the Hundred Spirits Gate to be the matchmaker. Otherwise, you might have ended up marrying someone you didn't know. Once you marry into the Wang family, you must be filial to your in-laws. The Wang family will be your home from now on, so you must get along well with your husband."

Wang Ruyan's cheeks flushed slightly. "Mother, I'm not married yet!" she said shyly.

"Once you're married, your mother won't have many chances to speak to you like this. Yan'er, when you marry into the Wang family, whose interests will you prioritize?"

Wang Ruyan pondered seriously for a moment, then answered somewhat uncertainly, "The Wang family?"

"Exactly. A married daughter is like spilled water; once you marry into the Wang family, you are one of them. The Wang family will be your support. Do not imitate your twenty-seventh aunt and thirty-eighth aunt. They not only used their husbands' resources to subsidize the Wang family, but when there was a conflict of interest between their husbands' families and the Wang family, they always prioritized the Wang family's interests. What was the result? Their husbands' families dared not divorce them but no longer trusted them, guarding against them as if they were thieves. Their husbands wouldn't even share a room with them, leaving them effectively widowed at a young age. When they visit the Wang family, your father and the others advise them to get along with their husbands' families, but they can't please both sides. When I married into the Wang family, aside from your grandparents' big birthday celebrations, I rarely returned. It's not that I'm forbidding you from helping your maiden family, but you can only truly help them once your own position is secure. And absolutely do not act recklessly by relying on your third grand-uncle's status, understand?"

"I understand, Mother. From now on, when I'm not by your and Father's side, please take good care of yourselves. I will come back to visit you often when I can."

"We'll take care of ourselves. Oh, and here, take a good look at the contents of this. You'll find it useful later." Yang Yueqin produced a blue booklet, handed it to Wang Ruyan, and then rose and left.

The cover of the booklet bore four large characters: "Mandarin Duck Secret Manual." Wang Ruyan curiously opened it and began to read.

After reading just the first page, her face was completely flushed. The "Mandarin Duck Secret Manual" was a book of erotic illustrations.

At the Yin Corpse Sect, in the Yin Fiend Hall.

A tall, white-robed elder and a gaunt-faced, black-robed elder were reporting to a tall, black-robed man.

"Hall Master," the white-robed elder began, "we have confirmed that the secret realm is not a Yellow-grade secret realm, but a minor world. It contains no restrictions, no immortal's abode, and no sect ruins. It only harbors some low-level ghostly creatures, and it appears to have been deliberately sealed."

Secret realms are categorized into four grades: Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Yellow. They often feature restrictions, immortal's abodes, or sect ruins. A minor world, however, is a natural or artificially created space, which can be a desolate area or one rich in spiritual energy. The key distinction between a secret realm and a minor world lies in the method of entry. A minor world's entrance and exit are not fixed and can sometimes collapse on their own; entry is possible simply by opening the passage. A secret realm's exit is usually fixed and requires specific treasures to open the entrance. Such realms are often filled with abundant spiritual energy and rare, high-aged spiritual herbs, and there are typically certain restrictions on the cultivators who can enter them.

"Precisely," the white-robed elder affirmed. "We've already explored it, and there's no significant danger inside. There's an abundance of Profound Yin Wood over a thousand years old; we managed to cleave off a piece, which is more than enough for refining a third-tier magical treasure. Furthermore, this minor world can be used to cultivate Yin-attribute spiritual herbs and raise ghostly creatures, making its value immeasurable. Here are the images we recorded with the Reflection Mirror." He took out a palm-sized black mirror and handed it to the black-robed man.

"I understand. You've worked hard; go back and rest first. This matter must not be leaked. I will report it to the Sect Master Brother for his decision. If we can secure this minor world, you will certainly be credited for your efforts."

"Yes, Hall Master."

Six months quickly passed.

The Wang family estate was adorned with lanterns and streamers, and smiles graced the face of every clan member.

Wang Mingyuan and Liu Qing'er sat in the seats of honor, their faces beaming with profound joy.

"First bow to Heaven and Earth, second bow to parents, husband and wife bow to each other. The ceremony is complete. Escort them to the bridal chamber."

After the full ceremony, the female members of the Wang family escorted Wang Ruyan back to her room, while Wang Changsheng remained outside to receive guests.

News of Wang Changsheng's marriage to Wang Ruyan had spread long ago, and cultivation families and forces from several surrounding prefectures had sent representatives to attend.

As Wang Changsheng was a registered disciple of Senior Guang, many disciples from the Hundred Spirits Gate also came to Qinglian Mountain to celebrate.

"Please eat and drink your fill. Forgive us for any shortcomings in our hospitality."

The guests exchanged toasts, chatting and laughing merrily.

"The Sect Master of the Hundred Spirits Gate has arrived!" A resonant voice suddenly boomed.

No sooner had the words faded than Guang Dongren strode in.

Seeing Guang Dongren, Wang Changsheng's smile deepened, and he quickly walked over to him.

Guang Dongren's personal attendance was a great honor for him.

"Disciple greets Master."

The moment Guang Dongren appeared, all the seated guests quickly rose and collectively greeted him, "Greetings, Senior Guang."

The guests' eyes were filled with envy; Guang Dongren's personal presence clearly showed his fondness for Wang Changsheng as his disciple.

"Alright, today is Changsheng's wedding day. Let's dispense with the formalities and sit down to eat!"

Although Guang Dongren said this, no one dared to sit.

"Changsheng, today is your great day of joy. This is a wedding gift from your master. Additionally, the three spirit veins you control are too far apart, so I will help you consolidate them." Guang Dongren said with a chuckle, taking out a blue jade box and handing it to Wang Changsheng.

Wang Changsheng was both surprised and delighted upon hearing this. "Disciple thanks Master!" he said gratefully.

"You are my disciple; this is what I should do."

After two cups of wine, Guang Dongren, accompanied by Wang Changsheng and other high-ranking members of the Wang family, went outside.

Guang Dongren flicked his sleeve, sending out over a dozen yellow array flags. They shot out, transforming into streaks of yellow light that vanished into the ground around the former Chen family stronghold.

He then took out a yellow array plate, cast a spell upon it, and quietly commanded, "Mountain Moving Array, activate!"

No sooner had he spoken than the ground shook violently. A towering mountain trembled intensely, then a giant yellow hand emerged, lifting it from the ground. With a flick of the wrist, the mountain flew towards Qinglian Mountain and settled steadily nearby.

Guang Dongren utilized the third-tier Mountain Moving Array to relocate the former strongholds of the Chen and Huang families closer to Qinglian Mountain. This arrangement brought the three spirit veins into closer proximity, making it more convenient for the Wang clan members to tend to the spiritual fields.

Witnessing the entire process, all the guests present simultaneously showed expressions of envy.
