Chapter 2260: Three Hundred Years, The Family Flourishes, Qingshan Travels Abroad

Three hundred years, marked by the passing of seasons, quickly went by.

Qinglian Island was adorned with lanterns and festive decorations, creating a joyful atmosphere. The island itself, with its unique peaks, winding corridors, vibrant red and green foliage, and jagged rock formations, resembled an earthly paradise.

Atop Welcoming Peak, a vast bluestone plaza spanning ten thousand mu was filled with over two thousand cultivators. They were gathered, drinking and conversing, their faces beaming with broad smiles.

Wang Qingcheng, Wang Mengbin, and Bai Yuqi occupied the honored seats, all smiling broadly.

Today marked the wedding of Wang Yingye, a descendant of Wang Mengbin. Previously, Wang Changsheng and Liu Yumei had acquired a Golden Amber Jade Ganoderma Pill. After consuming it, Wang Mengbin and Bai Yuqi conceived, resulting in the birth of a son, Wang Jiye, who possessed a fire spiritual root.

Wang Jiye, who cultivated the "True Fire Scripture," had already advanced to the God Transformation stage. He studied artifact refining under Wang Qingfeng, becoming the Wang family's second fifth-tier artifact refiner, and was also proficient in the art of puppetry.

Over three hundred years ago, during a major beast tide, the Wang family slew three sixth-tier demon beasts, significantly boosting the reputation of the Green Lotus Immortal Couple. While the Wang family incurred minimal losses, other factions were not as fortunate; the Liu family, in particular, suffered severe damage to its vital energy.

Following the beast tide, Wang Mengbin traveled to Snow Goose Market with a substantial quantity of demon beast materials. He sold the majority of these goods to Han Changfeng, acquiring a significant amount of cultivation resources in return, and simultaneously established a cooperative relationship.

The Wang family's puppet beasts had performed exceptionally well during the major beast tide. Consequently, their presence at Snow Goose Market expanded to ten shops, primarily dedicated to selling puppet beasts.

Although other factions in this sea region also sold puppet beasts, their quality and variety couldn't match the Wang family's. The Wang family had thus established a considerable reputation in the area through their superior puppet beasts.

After the major beast tide, the number of demon beasts had noticeably dwindled. The Wang family seized this opportunity to extensively develop uninhabited islands, recruiting rogue cultivators or those displaced from their homes, and offering them protection.

The Wang family now controls over a thousand islands and more than a hundred affiliated forces. Their own cultivators number twenty thousand, while the cultivators from their allied forces total over seventy thousand, including seven God Transformation cultivators and over three hundred Nascent Soul cultivators.

Currently, the Wang family boasts twenty-five God Transformation cultivators, two Void Refinement cultivators, and over five hundred Nascent Soul cultivators. Having been established for over a thousand years, the family's development is thriving.

The Wang family's rapid growth can be attributed not only to the presence of two Void Refinement cultivators but also significantly to the abundant cultivation resources found in this sea region.

Wang Changsheng had advanced to the Void Refinement stage nearly nine hundred years prior. Since the last major beast tide, he had not made another appearance, having entered secluded cultivation.

This was unsurprising, as higher cultivation levels typically entail slower progress and a greater need for cultivation resources.

With the Wang family's backing, the Sun family, founded by Sun Sihai, had developed rapidly. This time, Wang Jiye was marrying Sun Yuwei, a female cultivator from the Sun family. Sun Yuwei, possessing wood-fire dual spiritual roots, was already at the mid-Nascent Soul stage, making them a well-matched couple.

With the Wang family's assistance, Sun Yuwei would be able to progress further on her cultivation path.

Wang Mengbin had reached the Grand Perfection of the God Transformation stage, Bai Yuqi had advanced to the mid-God Transformation stage, while Wang Qingcheng remained at the mid-God Transformation stage.

“Many thanks to all fellow cultivators who have come to celebrate Wang Ye’s wedding,” Wang Mengbin announced, raising his wine cup. “I toast to you all.”

The cultivators, not daring to be remiss, promptly returned his toast.

Suddenly, a deafening peal of thunder reverberated. A massive thundercloud appeared over Qinglian Island, as streaks of silver lightning tore through the sky, striking a specific spot on the island, accompanied by a loud beast roar.

The cultivators were taken aback, exchanging bewildered glances.

A young woman in a green dress, with almond-shaped eyes and rosy cheeks, looked towards Wang Qingcheng and asked curiously, “Fellow Daoist Wang, that must be Lin Zun, raised by True Person Taihao, isn’t it?”

Since the Wang family's establishment, Lin Gui had frequently hunted demon beasts, rarely encountering an equal. It was widely known that the Wang family possessed a powerful spiritual turtle.

Wang Qingcheng nodded proudly. “Precisely, it is Lin Zun,” he affirmed. “Madam Han, I hear you also raise a Flood Dragon Turtle, and its divine abilities are quite impressive.”

The young woman in the green dress was Han Yuyan, a cultivator at the mid-God Transformation stage.

Wang Mengbin and Bai Yuqi had previously served the Han family as honored guests for a time. For Wang Jiye's wedding, they had extended an invitation to the Han family, which had sent Han Yuyan as their representative.

Upon hearing this, Han Yuyan offered a wry smile. “Compared to Lin Zun, my Flood Dragon Turtle is far inferior,” she conceded. “In time, should Lin Zun advance to the sixth tier, your Wang family will gain yet another Void Refinement stage combatant.”

Lin Gui's physique far surpassed that of other spiritual turtles of its rank, making it highly conspicuous when active in the overseas regions.

“Sixth tier? I appreciate Madam Han’s kind words,” Wang Qingcheng said with a smile, though he knew Lin Gui had remained at the peak of the fifth tier for many years, and advancing to the sixth tier would not be easy.

Over an hour later, the banquet concluded, and the guests gradually departed.

Dozens of clan members gathered around Wang Jiye, eager to playfully tease the newlyweds in their bridal chamber.

Wang Mengbin and Bai Yuqi allowed them to have their fun, understanding that a wedding was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and a little boisterousness was perfectly fine.

No sooner had Wang Qingcheng returned to his residence than a long azure rainbow descended from the sky, landing before him. It was Wang Qingshan.

Wang Qingshan’s aura was considerably stronger than before; he had already reached the Grand Perfection of the God Transformation stage, merely a step away from Void Refinement.

“Seventh Brother, your cultivation has advanced considerably. Congratulations!” Wang Qingcheng said with a smile. Wang Qingshan had entered secluded cultivation after the last major beast tide.

“I plan to travel, just letting you know.”

Wang Qingshan had been in the Xuanyang Realm for many years, mostly confined to this sea region. He now intended to travel for a period, hoping to discover alternative methods for breaking through to the Void Refinement stage.

Wang Changsheng’s method for achieving Void Refinement was difficult to replicate, while Wang Ruyan’s approach was excessively perilous. Though there were countless paths to cultivation, and many ways to break through to the Void Refinement stage, rare indeed were the cultivators who could advance to Void Refinement without any external assistance.

“Traveling? To the mainland?”

Wang Qingcheng was not surprised; high-level cultivators rarely remained in secluded cultivation within their caves indefinitely, as periodic travel was beneficial for their progress.

Wang Qingshan nodded. “Yes,” he confirmed, “I’ve heard the mainland is much more prosperous, and I wish to explore it for a while.”

“Mother asked me to give you these three sixth-tier talismans,” Wang Qingcheng said, “She wanted you to take them with you when you leave.”

Wang Qingcheng produced an exquisite azure jade box and handed it to Wang Qingshan.

Inside the jade box were a Seven-Star Spirit Control Talisman, a Nine-Origin Spirit Concealment Talisman, and a Nine-Transcendent Shadow Escape Talisman. The latter was a sixth-tier escape talisman. Coupled with the Heavy Water Thunder Pearl provided by Wang Changsheng, Wang Qingshan would be able to retreat safely from any situation, unless he encountered an exceptionally powerful adversary.

A flicker of surprise crossed Wang Qingshan’s eyes. “Does Ninth Aunt know I’m leaving?” he asked, perplexed.

“Mother knew you would eventually travel, and she wanted me to give these to you personally. You don’t need to say goodbye to the others. Oh, and here are some cultivation resources they are looking to collect; if you come across any, try your best to acquire them.”

Wang Qingcheng then produced an azure jade slip and handed it to Wang Qingshan.

“Very well, I will keep an eye out.”

Wang Qingshan nodded and put away the jade slip.

After a brief chat, Wang Qingshan transformed into an azure escape light and departed from Qinglian Island.
