Chapter 2126: The Praise of the Fusion Cultivator

An immense, boundless black forest stretched as far as the eye could see. Colossal trees, hundreds of feet tall, were visible everywhere, their dense foliage blocking out much of the sunlight.

Loud, rumbling explosions rang out. Towering trees snapped in two, crashing to the ground, sending up clouds of dust and scattering leaves everywhere.

A streak of golden light and a streak of silver light appeared above the dense forest. They were Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan.

Their faces were pale, and their bodies were enveloped in golden and silver light, respectively.

The Level Six Escape Talismans were indeed powerful, but the Level Six demonic bird was no pushover and had been relentlessly pursuing them.

“My dear, let’s escape into the riverbed,” Wang Changsheng said, his eyes lighting up. A turbulent blue river flowed nearby; it was the best place to hide.

Wang Ruyan’s escape light intensified as she flew towards the river.

Wang Changsheng felt a gust of wind blow past his head, and his heart sank.

Each time he used the Soul Suppression Roar, his divine sense was significantly consumed, meaning he couldn't use this secret technique indefinitely.

It was also thanks to this secret technique; otherwise, they would have died long ago.

A colossal golden bird suddenly appeared above Wang Changsheng’s head. With a spread of its wings, it unleashed countless streaks of golden light, striking out in all directions.

The golden light struck the towering trees, instantly piercing through them, leaving large holes in their thick trunks before they toppled over. When the golden light hit the ground, it blasted out a massive pit hundreds of feet wide. Continuous roars filled the air as dust and smoke billowed everywhere.

Several streaks of golden light struck Wang Changsheng, sending him flying backward like a kite with a broken string. He collided with more than ten towering trees in succession, spitting out a large mouthful of blood, his face turning pale.

The golden bird flapped its wings and vanished from its spot.

Numerous towering trees quickly shifted, surrounding Wang Changsheng tightly. The ground beneath him turned from earth to sand, and countless yellow grains of sand flew up, forming multiple sand screens to protect him.

With a thunderous roar, the towering trees were uprooted by a powerful gust of wind and sent flying away. The multiple sand screens were shattered by the golden bird's claws, sending dust and smoke billowing everywhere.

After breaking through the sand screens, the golden bird found that Wang Changsheng had vanished.

The ground shook violently as a massive gravitational force appeared out of nowhere. The golden bird's body glowed brightly, its wings flapping furiously, releasing a shimmering golden gale as it soared into the sky.

A tremendous explosion roared, the ground cracked open, and towering trees turned into countless fragments, scattering everywhere.

Beneath the turbulent river, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan lay on the back of the Qilin Turtle, a blue aura enveloping both of them.

If Wang Ruyan hadn't conjured her Five-Element Talisman Soldiers to block for a moment, Wang Changsheng would have been in grave danger.

Wang Changsheng dared not be careless and urged the Qilin Turtle to speed up its escape.

The river water churned violently, massive amounts of water shooting into the sky, forming a colossal water vortex.

The golden bird seemed intent on draining the river to pull out Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan.

Wang Changsheng took a deep breath and let out a loud roar. The golden bird's body trembled, and the water vortex abruptly collapsed, inundating an area of several miles.

By the time it recovered, Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan had already vanished, escaping along the riverbed.

The golden bird unleashed its fury, leveling an area of several tens of miles.

In a certain turbulent underground river, the water churned violently, as if something was fighting at the bottom.

A moment later, dozens of black pufferfish floated to the surface, their bodies charred and emitting a burnt smell.

Deep in the riverbed, the Qilin Turtle carried Wang Changsheng and Wang Ruyan, its body crackling with countless blue electric arcs. It held a long-dead blue python in its mouth, and a large section of the river water was stained red.

A large number of black pufferfish lay motionless on the riverbed.

Not far away was a steep rock wall, and the Qilin Turtle quickly moved towards it.

It opened its mouth and spat out several thick blue lightning bolts, forcefully carving out a cave.

Wang Ruyan conjured a shimmering blue flying dagger and carved out a temporary dwelling in the rock wall. The entrance was blocked by a blue light screen, keeping the river water out.

Wang Changsheng carved out a simple, private stone chamber, sat down cross-legged, took out a green porcelain bottle, and poured out a golden medicinal pill from it. It emitted a peculiar fragrance.

The pill melted upon entering his mouth, and a warm current rose within his body, making Wang Changsheng feel a comforting warmth spread through him.

He closed his eyes and channeled his energy to heal his injuries.

Wang Ruyan guarded the entrance, meditating to recover.

The Qilin Turtle lay beside them, its head and limbs retracted into its shell.

Outside the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven, within a resplendent golden palace.

Chen Yueying and over twenty other Integration cultivators were conversing. Each time the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven opened, it was an opportunity for these old masters to gather.

“Fellow Daoist Wan, I didn't expect you to lead the team personally this time,” Chen Yueying said, looking at a handsome scholar in white. “It seems your Ten Thousand Spirits Sect has significant ambitions this time!”

“The feeling is mutual,” the scholar in white chuckled playfully. “For Fairy Chen to lead the team personally is beyond my expectation.” He recalled something and looked at a ruddy-faced old man in golden robes, with the hair of a crane and the complexion of a child. He asked curiously, “Fellow Daoist Sun, if I'm not mistaken, Fellow Daoist Zheng's descendant also entered the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven, correct? How could Fellow Daoist Zheng bear to send her descendant into the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven and not worry about an accident?”

“Unpolished jade cannot become a masterpiece,” the golden-robed old man said nonchalantly. “Senior Martial Brother Zheng has his own considerations; there's no need for Fellow Daoist Wan to concern himself.” He then looked at a middle-aged man with thick eyebrows and full lips, and teased, “Fellow Daoist Sun, I heard your new disciple possesses the Profound Wood Spiritual Body. Surely you didn't send him into the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven to seek treasure, did you?”

The middle-aged man was nine feet tall and wore a wide-sleeved azure python robe with auspicious clouds embroidered in gold thread on the cuffs. A white jade belt adorned his waist, from which hung an azure dragon-carved jade pendant. His every gesture exuded the demeanor of a high-ranking individual. This was Sun Yu, the Transmitting Elder of the Xuanqing Sect and the youngest disciple of Xuanqingzi.

“What Profound Wood Spiritual Body? Fellow Daoist Wan, you jest,” Sun Yu said meaningfully, looking at Chen Yueying. “We have all sent many elite disciples into the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven. However, among the disciples Fellow Daoist Chen brought, there is a late-stage Soul Transformation cultivator whose divine sense is exceptionally powerful, comparable to a Void Refinement cultivator. I have never seen this person before; it seems they are a disciple carefully cultivated by your Zhenhai Palace.”

“No way! A late-stage Soul Transformation cultivator's divine sense comparable to a Void Refinement cultivator?” Golden Tripod True Monarch said with some surprise. “Fellow Daoist Sun, aren't you exaggerating!”

“Fellow Daoist Sun, you must be joking. You're referring to Nephew Wang, aren't you?” Chen Yueying said with a faint smile. “His divine sense is naturally quite strong, stronger than other Soul Transformation cultivators, but not yet comparable to the Void Refinement stage.”

“Naturally strong divine sense? That's rare,” Sun Yu said with a profound look. “Perhaps it's an unawakened spiritual body. For Fellow Daoist Chen to actually be willing to send him in to seek treasure, it seems your Zhenhai Palace has produced quite a few promising talents.”

“The feeling is mutual. Your Xuanqing Sect's disciples are also excellent,” Chen Yueying said, her face filled with a murderous aura. “The number of foreign races entering the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven to seek treasure is increasing; we must address this issue. The Profound Spirit Cave Heaven was left by Heavenly Venerate Xuanling for our human race to temper our descendants. It contains many treasures. We can contend amongst ourselves as much as we like, but foreign races are not allowed to touch it.”

“Fellow Daoist Chen, rest assured,” the scholar in white said confidently. He seemed to sense something and took out a constantly shimmering green light formation plate from his robes. The plate had over twenty markings, and more than half of them had dimmed.

“This is not good,” the scholar in white said, his face turning grim. “There might have been an unforeseen change in the Profound Spirit Cave Heaven. Several of our disciples have suddenly been killed.”

Almost simultaneously, Chen Yueying and several other Integration cultivators took out treasures that could determine the life and death of their disciples, their brows furrowing deeply.
