Chapter 1857: Restraining Spirit Light

A moment later, Fairy Ziyue finished her cultivation, and her pale complexion regained its rosy color.

She stood up and looked towards the towering peak not far away.

A stone staircase, covered in green moss, extended from the foot of the mountain to its summit, with lush green trees lining both sides of the steps.

Fairy Ziyue's expression became strange. The presence of stairs suggested someone lived here. Could this be True Monarch Kuangfeng's immortalized abode?

She expanded her spiritual sense, but it was blocked by a restriction near the halfway point of the mountain.

After a brief consideration, she took out a round bead the size of a pigeon's egg. Runes flickered on the bead's surface, and it transformed into a streak of spiritual light, disappearing into the ground.

This was a detection bead, an essential item for treasure hunting. She didn't know what restrictions the towering peak might have, and if she accidentally triggered one, Wang Qingshan could follow the detection bead to her.

Fairy Ziyue sent the ape puppet beast towards the towering peak. Step by step, ten steps, a hundred steps, the ape puppet beast moved slowly without triggering any restrictions.

She glanced at the volcano cluster behind her and walked towards the towering peak.

After reaching the halfway point of the mountain, a dense white fog lay ahead, obscuring everything within.

The ape puppet beast strode into the white fog without any anomaly. A moment later, it emerged from the fog and returned to Fairy Ziyue's side.

Fairy Ziyue carefully examined its body and found no signs of injury. Only then did she feel reassured enough to walk in.

The white fog was so dense that she couldn't see her own hand in front of her face, and her spiritual sense could not extend beyond a hundred zhang.

After less than half an hour, Fairy Ziyue felt the fog ahead thinning and vaguely saw a towering pagoda.

After walking over a hundred steps, the fog dissipated, and Fairy Ziyue found herself in a vast bluestone plaza. The ground was covered in green moss. In the center of the plaza stood a bluestone pagoda over a hundred zhang tall. The words "Kuangfeng Pagoda" were carved on its body, with spiritual light continuously flowing over it, revealing countless profound runes.

"Kuangfeng Pagoda! Could True Monarch Kuangfeng have truly achieved his final transformation here?"

Fairy Ziyue muttered to herself, her expression growing excited.

If she could obtain True Monarch Kuangfeng's legacy, nothing could be better. No Nascent Soul cultivator would refuse the legacy of a Deity Transformation cultivator.

The main gate of Kuangfeng Pagoda was tightly shut, with a tornado pattern carved onto the stone door.

Fairy Ziyue performed a hand seal, and the golden giant ape puppet beast strode towards Kuangfeng Pagoda. Upon reaching the pagoda's entrance, it moved its arms and violently smashed the stone door.

After a thunderous crash, the stone door shattered into pieces, revealing a spacious bluestone hall.

The ape puppet beast walked inside and explored the entire hall without encountering any anomalies or triggering any restrictions.

Only then did Fairy Ziyue feel relieved and walk inside.

The floor was paved with some kind of bluestone, and the stone walls were adorned with exquisite murals. One mural depicted a man in green robes controlling powerful winds. Beside it was an inscription: "I, True Man Kuangfeng, after years of arduous cultivation, finally ascended to the Deity Transformation stage. While seeking treasures in the Wind and Snow Abyss, I suffered severe injuries and achieved my final transformation here. Should a fated individual pass the trials I have set, they shall receive my legacy."

"It truly is True Man Kuangfeng's immortalized abode!"

Fairy Ziyue's expression was agitated as she looked around.

To her left was a bluestone staircase, covered in dust, indicating that no cultivator had been there for a very long time.

The ape puppet beast ascended the stairs, with Fairy Ziyue following behind.

On the second floor, the area was empty, with tornado patterns carved into the stone walls. A circular stone platform, over ten zhang in diameter, sat in the center. There were no further stairs on the second floor.

Fairy Ziyue frowned, unsure what kind of trial True Monarch Kuangfeng had referred to.

Her eyes suddenly brightened and turned purple as she looked around, but she found no anomalies.

The ape puppet beast moved around, and everything seemed normal.

Fairy Ziyue pondered for a moment, then looked at the tornado patterns on the stone wall and walked towards them.

Just then, a floor tile suddenly sank, though the puppet beast had walked over it without issue.

Fairy Ziyue inwardly cried out in alarm as countless green runes suddenly appeared on the floor tiles. A fierce gale erupted, and the tornado patterns on the stone walls glowed brightly, sweeping forth. A green light barrier also appeared at the staircase entrance, blocking Fairy Ziyue's retreat.

The void vibrated and distorted as dense green light emerged from thin air, suddenly transforming into countless green wind blades which slashed towards Fairy Ziyue from all directions.

There were tens of thousands of green wind blades, their momentum astonishing.

Fairy Ziyue was startled. She quickly summoned her Golden Tortoise Shield, which spun around her, blocking all the incoming green wind blades. At the same time, she brought out her Fire Sparrow Fan and gently waved it, sending roaring flames sweeping out towards the green light barrier.

The flames struck the green light barrier but dissipated like snow melting in spring.

The dense green wind blades landed on the Golden Tortoise Shield, emitting dull clanging sounds as sparks flew.

Waves of hazy green gales swept in. Fairy Ziyue quickly fanned her Fire Sparrow Fan, releasing roaring flames to meet them.

Thunderous explosions rang out as the flames collided with the gales, creating a powerful surge of air and scattering fire.

Controlling two spirit treasures, her magic power was depleting rapidly, while the green wind blades and green tornadoes seemed endless.

She frowned deeply and looked towards the bluestone platform.

She noticed that neither the green wind blades nor the hurricanes attacked the bluestone platform. Could there be some mystery there?

Out of caution, she controlled the puppet beast to walk onto the bluestone platform, and nothing unusual happened.

Given her previous experience, Fairy Ziyue dared not step onto it carelessly, fearing another trap.

Time passed slowly. Fairy Ziyue's magic power depleted quickly, and her face grew pale. The green wind blades and tornadoes were endless, continuously attacking her.

After more than an hour, the ape puppet beast moved repeatedly on the bluestone platform without any anomaly.

Fine slash marks appeared on the Golden Tortoise Shield's surface and increased in number as time went on.

Left with no choice, Fairy Ziyue had to fly onto the bluestone platform.

An astonishing scene unfolded. The green wind blades and green tornadoes vanished, but a thick green light barrier suddenly appeared from thin air, enveloping Fairy Ziyue and the puppet beast. What's more, countless profound runes suddenly emerged from the bluestone platform, transforming into dozens of green iron chains which bound Fairy Ziyue and the puppet beast.

Clearly, this was a special restriction, designed to trap any cultivator who entered here on the bluestone platform.

Fairy Ziyue was horrified to discover that she couldn't use even a trace of her magic power.

"Spirit-Binding Forbidden Light! It's actually the Spirit-Binding Forbidden Light, one of the ten ancient forbidden techniques!"

Fairy Ziyue's expression turned grim. The Spirit-Binding Forbidden Light could imprison a cultivator's magic power, and if she couldn't escape, she would die of old age here.

It was clear that True Monarch Kuangfeng's legacy would not be easily obtained.

Fairy Ziyue controlled the puppet beast to attack the green light barrier, which produced dull thudding sounds. The green light barrier buckled and warped, with countless profound runes appearing on its surface, but showed no signs of damage.

Fairy Ziyue realized that even a fourth-tier puppet beast couldn't break through the green light barrier. Her face turned ashen; if no other cultivator entered this place, she would likely be trapped here until her death.
